- All Girls Want Bad Boys: She’s in the relationship with popular Jerk Jock Noah, he didn’t look like a traditional bad boy, it just his behavior.
- But Not Too Bi: She only claims Noah (ex-boyfriend) and Joy (current girlfriend) in her relationships. Even though she has a thing for other guys, she still considers Joy to be her girlfriend.
- Girl Posse: She hangs out with Lindy's clique, but she no longer a part of it.
- Fallen Princess: Her life has fallen apart, she abandoned her friends, struggles with her bisexuality, breaking up with Noah, Lindy had turned everyone against her, her popularity went down the drain and hanging out with unpopular Joy.
- Freudian Excuse: Her desperation of wanting to be special and liked by others, because she has no mother and has a busy father who's too caught up with work.
- Lonely Rich Kid: Despite the fact she has a circle of friends at school and people were bowing down at her. Vanessa is always in her big house alone while her father is too busy working and never spend with her. This leads her to have anxiety issues and depression.
- Lovable Alpha Bitch: Vanessa is gorgeous, wealthy, ditzy, stylish and one of the most popular girls in school. She’s a part of the cheer team along with her friends, upcoming prom queen candidate, she could be snobbish, dismissive and have unpleasant moments. But she isn’t openly mean and overall nasty like her best friend Lindy. Vanessa is mostly polite and civil to everyone in school. Also, she is a loving girlfriend to Noah and also close with Joy.
- Missing Mom: Her mom is out of the picture, she is either implied to be divorced or deceased.
- Parental Neglect: Her father spends too much working and almost never had time for his daughter.
- Pink Is Feminine: Her room, her bathroom, her outfits including her prom queen could explain pink is her favorite color.
- Spoiled Sweet: She's a wealthy girl living in her father's mansion, but she's generally nice and very welcoming.
- Stepford Smiler: Vanessa acts like a confident, happy and sharp popular girl in school, but in real life, she's desperate, sad, lonely and also struggling with her bisexuality to maintain a relationship with Noah.
