Remus Lupin

Remus Lupin is a short, brown haired boy with golden eyes. He is a werewolf and the main character/POV of the fic.

• Abusive Parents: Lyall is physically abusive and both him and Hope are emotionally abusive towards Remus.
• Bad Bedroom, Bad Life: Remus' parents moved his bedroom to the basement, near to where he transforms. Remus doesn't like his bedroom.
• Friendship Denial: Remus denies that Sirius, James and Peter are his friends in early book one. Remus believes they aren't but Sirius thought they were.
• Gayngst: Remus has a lot of internalized homophobia, which comes to the forefront when he notices how much he's attracted to men.
• Loner-Turned-Friend: Justified. Remus' parents don't want him to make friends because he's a werewolf. He was a loner at first because of this but due to a lot of persuading from Sirius he now has quite a few friends.
• Strict Parents Make Sneaky Kids: Remus hides the fact that he has friends and that these friends know he's a werewolf from his parents.
• Werewolves Are Dogs: Downplayed. Remus Lupin, under the effects of the Wolfsbane potion, reportedly just curls up in his office like a sleepy dog on the full moon. Without it, he is a vicious beast.

Sirius Black

Sirius Black is a taller boy with pale skin, silver eyes and long black hair. Despite being the heir to the house Black, a family notorious for blood superiority, he doesn't hold those values, not even when he discovers Remus is a werewolf.

• Abusive Parents: Implied, Sirius's parents are implied to abuse him. He later states that they would be happy if he died.
• Big Brother Instinct: In Blackened Sky (the events of Shifting Lines in Sirius' perspective) Sirius is shown to want to protect Remus like he wants to protect his brother Regulus.
• Friends Are Chosen, Family Aren't: Sirius has a bad relationship with his parents and even his brother but loves his friends.
• Loner-Turned-Friend: Justified. Sirius could only associate with people his parents thought were suitable, now he can make friends with whoever he wants.
• Sibling Rivalry: Sirius gets angry with his brother which lead to him accidentally hurting him.

James Potter

James Potter is also taller than Remus with brown skin, hazel eyes and messy black hair. He's also a pureblood.

• Cool Kid-and-Loser Friendship: Downplayed, James wasn't exactly well liked, but before he announced his friendship with an anxious, sometimes described as crazy kid, he wasn't disliked, like they are.
• First Friend: James is this for Sirius.
• New Friend Envy: Downplayed. James sometimes gets annoyed when Sirius constantly talks about Remus.

Peter Pettigrew

Peter Pettigrew is a little taller than Remus, he's the only white Marauder with a tan, he's slightly larger than the others and has mousy brown hair. He's the only one that was afraid of Remus during the werewolf confrontation. Despite him betraying the Marauders in Harry Potter he's nice during their time at Hogwarts.

• Tastes Like Friendship: Peter attempts this but Remus thinks he accidentally left his chocolate behind so he doesn't eat it.

Aegis Silverlocke

Aegis Silverlocke is a blonde haired Slytherin who doesn't know Remus is a werewolf. He is one of the original characters introduced in Shifting Lines

• Hates Their Parent: Downplayed, it's shown in one of the one-shots that Aegis is afraid of his father and disapproves of his views. It's implied he likes his mother more.

Lily Evans

Lily is Remus' but not the rest of the Marauders' friends.

• First Friend: She is this for Remus.

Mythana Fawley

Mythana Fawley teaches Remus occlumency.

• Mentor Archetype: Fawley teaches Remus occlumency.

Lyall Lupin

Lyall is Remus' father.

• Abusive Parents: Lyall physically and emotionally abuses his son, Remus.

Hope Lupin

Hope is Remus' mother.

• Abusive Parents: Emotionally abuses Remus.
