Julian Cousins
Played by: Naveen Andrews
A former CIA agent and Dylan's "super special secret friend".
- Embarrassing First Name: Confesses to Lizzie in "Stay Gold" that Julian is his middle name; his first name is Reuben, which he hates because of its association with the sandwich.
- Hacker Cave: Has a particularly impressive one in season 1, until it's breached and shot up in a gunfight.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: Adopts one to infiltrate the NYPD station, consisting of a different hairstyle, an Australian accent, and the name "Jules." It works.
Andrew "Andy" Wilson
Played by: Daniel Ings
An ex-lawyer turned barkeeper. Dylan's husband.
- Amoral Attorney: Left behind his career at a high-power firm to avoid becoming one. Though he's still willing to play the part from time to time.
- The Bartender: In both the literal and figurative sense. Andy often takes a shift behind the bar he owns, and just as frequently dispenses advice to Dylan and other characters.
- Happily Married: To Dylan.

Dylan's editor.
- Too Important to Remember You: Greets her assistant on the phone with "hello, my assistant."

- No Name Given: Her name is never mentioned, including her last name; it's only assumed that she's Mrs. Reinhardt.
Charlie Pavlik

- Dirty Cop: Julian uncovers evidence that Charlie was taking bribes from a massive drug cartel. Turns out he was framed by another member of his squad.
- Lost Lenore: Is this for Lizzie.
Gary
A former drug-sniffer dog that Lizzie adopted.
Katie Needham
Played by: Genevieve Angelson
Lizzie's younger sister.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Is the "foolish" to Lizzie's "responsible," or so it appears.
- Off the Wagon: Lizzie confronts her about her out-of-control drinking when she comes to visit. Lizzie learns later that she'd actually been sober for ten months, and had fallen off the wagon after struggling to tell her sister that she'd been both dumped and fired in the same week and just needed support.
