General Tropes

• Book Ends: If the German Reich manages to gain a total victory, Russia will splinter into several states, dooming Russia back into another warlord era.
• Heroic Resolve: Despite its situation post-unification^note Social instability, economic issues, etc., Russia is determined to liberate Moscow from the German Reich and push them back to their original borders.
• Resurgent Empire: If Russia succeeds in achieving Total Victory in the Second West Russian War, they will be able to liberate most of Eastern Europe, either creating a series of allied states or reunifying them with Russia. Furthermore, if they were successful in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, the Collective Security Treaty Organization can find itself stretch from Eastern Europe into Central Asia and even Mongolia and Western China. This places them as the new dominant superpower in Eurasia, as the German Reich is doomed to collapse and Japan finds itself humiliated and weakened by its defeats.

• The Alliance: The Russian Federation will form the Collective Security Treaty Organization in order to rally the Central Asian states to its side, in preparation for its war against the German Reich.
• The Federation: As signified by its full name, Shukshin has successfully federalized Russia.

• Despair Event Horizon: In the event of a total German victory, Shukshin will be so overwhelmed he suffers a fatal heart attack.
• Good Is Not Dumb: Shukshin, while being an idealist who believes in genuine democracy, is determined to keep his ambitions realistic, and work within the existing political conditions of Russia.
• The Hero: Is undoubtedly the most influential man in Russian history in his path, being the one who reforms the Federation away from cynical oligarch politics and towards a genuine democracy that truly cares for its people, and that's on top of being the one to reunify Russia and potentially defeat Germany, ensuring an overall much, much better tomorrow for not just Russia, but for all peoples of Europe as well.

Shell shock, anxiety, suicidal depression, all caused by the horrors of warfare.Under the brief flowering of SBA, Anatoly began a career as a celebrated psychiatrist, overcoming the horrendous conditions of warlord Russia to play a part in helping the wounded people of Central Siberia recover from endless warfare. Throughout the Unification Wars, Koryagin's work only piled up as he encountered more people who were suffering from the pain of war. He came to the swift conclusion that the only way to put an end to the madness and bring about peace was through the highest office of the Russian Federation. Cooperating with remnant Modernists, Komi SMR and like-minded individuals in the army, Koryagin founded the Russian Social Liberal Party. With the Second West Russian War now behind the Russian people and the RSLP triumphant in the elections, the time has come to finally bring about something Russia hasn't known for decades. Peace."

• Base-Breaking Character: An In-Universe example. As Kantorovich and the Democratic Socialists reform society their policies receive a highly polarized reception by the Russian population as evidenced by half their policy-oriented focuses resulting in a sharp decrease to party popularity and the other half resulting in a sharp increase and several events show that half the country views Kantorovich as a champion of the common man while the other half thinks that the DSPR is the second coming of the Bolsheviks and must be removed from power as quickly as possible before they destroy the Federation.
• Internal Reformist: Kantorovich believes that reforming society away from capitalism and towards a trade-union controlled market socialist economy is possible without resorting to a violent revolution.

• Apocalypse How: Just as the Great Trial demands it, Yazov will launch nuclear hellfire against the Germans, ultimately leading to a nuclear holocaust.
• He Who Fights Monsters: Yazov orders a mass sterilization program against ethnic Germans, to use POWs as minesweepers, and even includes a "Youth wing" called the Black League Childrens Authority (which includes having child labor and Child Soldiers), ultimately proving himself to be no better than the Reich.
• Would Hurt a Child: Yazov expands the "Military Targets" to include any German children born in the Reichskommissariats.
