Even For Kings

More Things in Heaven and Eternia

  • This episode re-introduces Grizzlor, Mantenna, and Leech of the Evil Horde as they easily defeat a warrior trying to save his planet from Hordak. Not since the 2002 incarnation, have we seen these members of the Horde go from bumbling minions to frightening menaces worthy of serving under Hordak.
Hordak: I hire well. (cue his evil laugh)
Keldor: We were never meant to serve! We are meant to master the universe!
  • When Adam sends out the Sword of Power, he still feels the need to take the fight to Skeletek. So he grabs an axe, gets an armor upgrade, and charges Snake Mountain singlehandedly. What we're shown of the battle is that He-Man utterly breezes through Snake Mountain's defenses even without his signature weapon.
  • Skeletor manages to completely one-up himself from his already-impressive victories in Revelation by deceiving Andra (through his King Keldor disguise) into creating nanotech chips with him that give Eternians enormous strength... only for Eternos' supposed "rightful king" to deliver a Badass Fingersnap and brainwash the population within a day, delivering the city, Castle Grayskull, and the planet to Hordak without a shot fired. And even better? He left his king's crown on the throne in Snake Mountain, because he knew He-Man would go there, see it, and realize just how utterly he'd been outwitted.

The Dogs of War

  • The fight between Skeletek and Hordak. While Skeletek ultimately triumphs, Hordak proves to be no joke. Considering he prefers to leave the fighting to his servants, his prowess is even more impressive.
    • How does Skeletek beat Hordak? By using magic and technology in tandem, something Hordak could never do because of his inability to comprehend magic, despite needing an acolyte to wield it for him.
    • After Skeletek kills Hordak, Lyn shows up and uses her magic to sever the arm he fused the Staff of Havok with. Skeletek just laughs this off and uses his powers to grow a new arm, showing that he no longer needs the staff's power.
  • Teela shows her skill in both Zoar and Ka magic by manifesting the Staffs of both magics at once.
  • Orko fights off Hordak's minions while Gwildor works on making the modifications to the Sword of Power, followed by Gwildor using the Sword itself to give himself a fighting chance against the Horde while running with Orko.

The Scepter and The Sword

  • He-Man uses the Power of Grayskull to stabilize the three conflicting magical energies within Teela.
  • The fact that Gwildor was able to complete the modifications to Adam's sword while on the run from Hordak's minions and having only (an admittedly very powerful) Orko to protect him is beyond worthy of praise.
  • Even Queen Marlena gets in on the action by hopping into a fighter jet and blasting Skeletek's Techno-Titans.
  • One of the Techno-Titans breaks through Orko and Lyn's defenses to attack Teela, who is trying to rebuild Preternia. Cue Granamyr to the rescue.
Orko: Is that Granamyr the Monstrous?
Lyn: No, that's Granamyr the Magnificent.
  • Teela finally restores Preternia and gives an epic incantation to accompany such a wondrous feat.
Wandering souls, search no longer. Find peace in the fires of creation! The Tri-Sorceress commandeth thee, return, Preternia!
  • Skeletek has He-Man and is about to deliver the killing blow. And then the ghost of King Randor arrives to save his son, followed by the spirits of Fisto, Clamp Champ, Moss Man, and even King Grayskull himself tearing the remaining Techno-Titans to nothing.
