Fridge / Masters of the Universe: Revolution

All spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned.

Fridge Brilliance:

  • Skeletor's entire "The Reason You Suck" Speech towards Hordak near the end of their fight about how Hordak's weakness and the reason he fails is that he never really understood magic and thus always needed an acolyte to actually handle it for him, is actually a pretty accurate and meta commentary on the character's depiction on She-Ra: Princess of Power. On that show, the Great Rebellion manages to resist the Evil Horde primarily through the use of magic, and on the Horde's side of things, Hordak delegates all magic related issues to Shadow Weaver almost exclusively.
    • In fact, in that show, Hordak and Shadow Weaver would constantly argue over the use of magic against technology. Whenever Shadow Weaver defended the use of her magic, Hordak was always quick to remind her that it was the Horde who gave her said magic to begin with, and that it could taken away just as easily.
    • On the flip side, Shadow Weaver would always mock Hordak for how his reliance on science and technology always hindered the Horde's goals.
    • Not only that, but Hordak did, in fact, once complain in "A Loss For Words" that sorcery was what he hated about Skeletor.

Fridge Horror:

  • The fact that Adora hasn't been actually been Exiled from Continuity raises some very disturbing possibilites:
    • Given how she's taken on the identity of Despara, was she never freed from Shadow Weaver's brainwashing, or was she re-captured sometime after the Orb exploded and re-converted back into the Horde?
    • More on that, was Adora ever even She-Ra in this universe? Or has she always been Despara, Hordak's devoted "daughter" and right-hand? Are the events of "The Secret and the Sword" non-canon in this continuity?
    • Also, one has to wonder how Etheria and the Great Rebellion were affected by the loss of magic, considering how many of them rely on magic. Did the Horde wipe them out and fully conquer Etheria off-screen?
    • Moreover, did Hordak kill and replace Shadow Weaver as his second-in-command because her magic was weakened?
  • Hordak has already proven himself to be a horrible boss with his nanomachines assimilation scheme, but imagine what Horde Prime is going to do him for his failure once he's restored to full health.
    • Even if Hordak isn't outright punished, do you really think Horde Prime is going to let him get off scot-free for letting himself be defeated by Skeletor and losing control over the Horde Army?
    • Also, assuming the Horde recovered Motherboard's decapitated head and body before they retreated, (which they likely did) and assuming she can be rebuilt, imagine what Horde Prime is going to do to her for letting herself get so easily killed by Skeletor.
  • Assuming the prequel comic is canon, it means the wife and the daughter Skeletor remembers grieving for never existed in the first place since his memories of being an interdimensional demon were a fabrication. Imagine being him and having to live with that.
