  • Faith taking down nine zombies with only a taser and a crowbar.
  • Faith's boarding the cruise liner and, after the Dallas created a space for her to get on with its machine gun, taking down almost every zombie on deck by herself.
  • In To Sail a Darkling Sea, Steve chews out Captain Wilkes for siding with a Jerkass civilian passenger during an altercation between the latter and Faith, pointing out that not only was it a pointless bit of brown-nosing (given that said civilian was a Hollywood executive who now no longer has any money or connections due to the Zombie Apocalypse), but in doing so Wilkes also alienated every Marine in Wolf Squadron (who practically worship Faith), thereby threatening the squadron's entire chain of command.
  • The time-lapse video from Islands of Rage and Hope that shows the collapse of civilization, using - amongst other things - satellite imagery that shows the lights going out across the globe. Then, towards the end, the satellite images zoom in on one particular point in the Bahamas, focusing on a single pinpoint of light that eventually resolves itself into the ships of Wolf Squadron... and ends with Stephen Smith saying "To hell with the darkness. Light a candle."
  • The short story anthologies have some good moments.
    • "Up on the Roof" features a bunch of survivors who do an impressive job of figuring out how to form a colony on top of empty oil tanks in just a few minutes' time and proceed to defend them pretty efficiently.
    • In "How Do You Solve a Problem like Grandpa?" the eponymous character is a Gun Nut who is quick to use his arsenal against the infected, and even quicker to rub in how his family was wrong to pressure him to get rid of the weapons (which either adds to or takes away from the moment, depending on the reader's politics).
    • In "Ham Sandwich," a Hero of Another Story character talks about watching a BMX racer jump his bike over a blown-out bridge, luring a dozen zombies to a Disney Villain Death in the process.
Geraint: And then, would you believe it, the boy spun around on his front wheel and gave them two fingers up!
    • "Maligator County" features both a pack of dogs trained to kill zombies and a Construction Vehicle Rampage that takes out thousands more of the infected.
    • In "Chase the Sunset," some Canadian soldiers have to deal with a rapist who is holding a hostage and pull off a nice little Batman Gambit to lure him into the sights of a Friendly Sniper. Earlier in the story, they also cause the deaths of twenty malnourished infected individuals by tricking them into attacking an angry moose.
    • In "Isle of Masks and Blood," the Big Bad is nonfatally stabbed by a six-year-old girl she was holding hostage, at which point the sidekick characters who've been munching away at a banquet table suddenly break out weaponry and start shooting evil bodyguards.
    • In "For the Triumph of Evil," a Canadian cop who is conducting a Bavarian Fire Drill is taken prisoner and gets a phone call an "The Reason You Suck" Speech from the very prime minister he was claiming to represent.
    • In "The Old Bastard," the eponymous character is a Friendly Sniper who has taught a group of survivors to live off the land and goes on to liberate them from a slave labor camp they were lured to. He then tricks the people running the place into making an escape in a boat with barely any fuel, leaving them stranded where they can't cause any more trouble (assuming they survive).
    • In "Let Freedom Ring", the corpse of a Roman-obsessed Wasteland Warlord is crucified by his enemies, with a sign that says "Beware of the tyrant lord, for the Spartan Latin still lives," written in Latin next to the corpse. The demoralizing effect on his men is never shown, but is likely a big blow to them.
    • In "Do Not Steal," the local Wasteland Warlord (whose town runs on the rule "Do Not Steal") presides over the trial of a rapist for "Theft of consent." Said leader is dressed as the Scales of Justice throughout the trial, then kills the man with a Sword Cane.
The Librarian: Remember that. We do not take. We have all had enough stolen from us; we will not tolerate anything else being stolen.
