''Robotboy'' is an animated television series created by Creator/CartoonNetwork Europe that ran from 2005 to 2008. Despite being a European co-production, the show aired in the United States as well.

* AntiVillain: Constantine is almost a Villain in Name Only. He doesn't have any real malevolence in him; he's just following the orders of his adopted father, Kamikazi.

* LimitedWardrobe: Lola even wears her blue dress when she goes to bed. The only time she's ever been seen wearing a completely different outfit was when she went ''bowling'', oddly enough.
** She wore a soccer uniform when she was on Tommy's soccer team.
** She also wore Liederhosen in one episode, but it was for a dance number she was going to do.

* NightmareSequence: Donnie has a pretty long one in "Donnie Turnbull's Day Off" that involves fish medicine, his mom, and Robotboy's bed. It makes sense when you watch the episode.

* {{Retcon}}: In "Brother," Moshimo says that his first encounter with Kamikazi was when he kidnapped Protoboy. Later, in "The Legend of Brainy Yak," Moshimo relates his childhood as a yak herder in the Alps, and notes that a young Kamikazi made fun of one of his yaks.

* RoguesGallery: After a while, Robotboy got himself a fairly big one. Villains that have appeared in more than one episode includes: [[BigBad Dr. Kamikazi]], [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney Klaus von Afoncügel]], [[SmugSnake Bjorn Bjornson]], [[TheMenInBlack Kurt's father]], [[MagiciansAreWizards Felonius Hex]], [[CyberneticsEatYourSoul General Yakitori]], [[SadistTeacher Principal Culpepper]] and [[EvilCounterpart Protoboy]].

* SmallNameBigEgo: Lance Cosgrove, a self-absorbed investigate reporter who keeps making up the most ridiculous tabloid explainations for anything Robotboy is involved in. Both Tommy's and Lola's dads love watching his show because they think he's [[SoBadItsGood So Bad He's Good]]. [[invoked]]

* {{Adorkable}}: Tommy is a typical goody two-shoes boy with a geeky interest in robots, comic books and superheroes. Let's not forget how flustered he gets around Bambi.

** Donnie actually calls Tommy one in "I Want That Toy!" but not with the same meaning. It's just a random insult. Donnie also get some physical beatings from Robotboy.

* DistaffCounterpart: Robotgirl is essentially a female version of Robotboy, bearing the same character design as him, save for [[PinkMeansFeminine being pink]] and having a bow-tie on her head.

* MissingMom: Lola's mother is never shown.

* {{Troll}}: The function of the Teasebots in "Teasebots". They're invented by Kamikazi to piss off Robotboy so he would waste his energy so Kamikazi could grab. Tommy, with the help of Mashimo, managed to... possibly reprogram the one robot that was left from Robotboy's massacre so as to serve as a distraction. Gus did nothing but try to destroy the only robot they had when he was insulted by it.

** ''Proto''boy is Robotboy's older brother. Does that ring any bells?

* AntiHero: Gus is a PragmaticHero, or a NominalHero, [[DependingOnTheWriter depending on the episode]].
* AntiRoleModel: Gus is intended as a character who one should not want to emulate, due to his selfishness and {{Jerkass}}ery.

* AssholeVictim: Whenever Gus meets his own end, he's not worth rooting for after all the crap he's put everyone through.

** The titular monster from "Clammadon Rising".

* BadassAdorable: Robotboy, so very, very much. Ditto Robotgirl.

* BareYourMidriff: Debbie Turnbull. She wears a red sports bra throughout

* ButNotTooBlack: Subverted with Lola. You wouldn't mistake her for a white girl, but her eyes ''are'' very blue. And then there's her voice...

* CainAndAbel: Protoboy is the Cain to Robotboy's Abel.

* EvilRedhead: Gus... well, [[AntiHero not]] ''[[AntiHero that]]'' [[AntiHero evil.]] It's very hard to tell sometimes, though.

* FatIdiot: Gus, so very much. Sometimes he's even TooDumbToLive (see below).

* FemBot: Despite her name, Robotgirl fits more into this category than [[RobotGirl this]].

* HartmanHips:
** Tommy's mom. Her hips got even wider in season 2.
** The PE teacher also has them.
* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: Tommy's mom is the only member of his family who doesn't treat him like crap. Hell, besides Lola, she's the only one who doesn't ''consistently'' act like a jerk to Tommy.
* HippieTeacher: There's one in "Tween for a Day". Ironically, she teaches the computer class.

* ICantBelieveItsNotHeroin: Tommy's mom's reaction to the cookies Dr. Kamikazi sold her in "Traffic Slam".

* {{Jerkass}}: Gus. He's cowardly, ungodly stupid, crude, arrogant even when it's not deserved or nobody said anything to prompt a response, despite this he does have redeeming traits and does care for his friends.

* ObliviouslyEvil: Robotboy pulls this off in "Clammadon Rising" and "Grow No-Mo!"
* ObliviousToLove: Tommy never gets the hint that Lola has a crush on him.

* PantyShot: Several kids in "The Donnienator"; Lola in "Traffic Slam."
** And then there was the quick shot in Traffic Slam where they didn't show her panties, [[GoingCommando if you know what I mean.]]

** LatexPerfection: His human disguise in "Tween for a Day", however, was quite convincing. Well, more convincing then the usual disguise.
* ParentalFavoritism: Tommy's dad obviously prefers Donnie.

* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Robotboy and Robotgirl.

* PintsizedPowerhouse: Robotboy and Robotgirl. Averted with Protoboy, since he's a little bigger than both of them.

* RidiculouslyHumanRobot: Robotboy. He's even passed for a human kid at least twice. Somehow.
** Robotgirl even more so.

* ShowWithinAShow: ''The Human Fist''

* ThreeAmigos: Tommy, Gus and Lola. Somehow. Somewhat.
* TooDumbToLive: In "Science Fear" Kurt almost died from heat exhaustion because he got into a mecha without air conditioning and refused to get out because he was having too much fun, first just going around the city wrecking stuff, and then trying to kill Tommy.

* UglyGuyHotWife: Applies more to Moshimo and his fiancée than to Tommy's parents.

%%* VitriolicBestBuds: Tommy and Gus. Gus constantly needles and annoys Tommy but Tommy tolerates him, giving out some snark at times and, in many cases, delivering his comeuppance himself, through Robotboy, or just standing back and letting karma take it's toll.
* VomitDiscretionShot: Gus in "Traffic Slam", Tommy's mom in "Kamispazi!", and, bizarrely enough, ''[[FridgeLogic Robotboy]]'' in "Gus's Big Mouth".

* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Brian the Yak, aka Brainy Yak. He was born mentally handicapped, making him a laughing stock among other yaks (though he was blissfully unaware of that) and then Moshimo made him super-intelligent, which made him even more of an outcast.

* WouldHitAGirl: In "Foot Brawl" Kurt gives Lola a ''rough'' bodycheck.

* WouldntHurtAChild: Averted in "Traffic Slam" when Tommy's mom [[DisproportionateRetribution kicks Lola in the face]] [[RefugeInAudacity for trying to take her cookies]].
** Also Kamikazi, who threatens to do... "Well, [[NeverSayDie I can't actually say it]], but it's very evil!"

** Tommy looks awfully similar to Mac from ''WesternAnimation/FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends''.
*** His name isn't [[WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddparents exactly original]] either.
** Gil from the electronics store is Film/NapoleonDynamite.

* ABoyAndHisX: Tommy and Robotboy.

* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: Kamakazi actually got away with calling Constantine a "jackass".
** In "Kamispazi!" when Constantine disguised as Deb bends over to steal Robotboy from off of Tommy's bed, he's interrupted when Dwight sneaks up on "Deb" and squeezes "her" butt off-screen, complete with honk sound effect.
** Gus slaps Lola on the butt in "Roughing It" to hurry her up when he hears thunder. She's also carrying him, by the way.
** There's an episode where Kamakazi kidnaps tommy and replaces him with a surgically disguised secret agent. there's one scene where the agent is cleary ogling Mrs. Turnbull. keep in mind this is when he looks like Tommy, who is not only debbie's son but also a little kid.

* LoopholeAbuse: "Foot Brawl" has so many situations that the rules say nothing about - a monkey as the goalkeeper, a robot playing striker, a player switching teams halfway through, playing with five balls at once, ''beating up the ref, '''[[TryingToCatchMeFightingDirty throwing a bowling ball at your opponent]]''''' - that it's probably safer to assume there are no loopholes to abuse because there are no rules in the first place.

** Robotboy himself is pretty much AstroBoy or VideoGame/{{Mega Man|Classic}}. Following from the latter, Protoboy is pretty much Proto Man, but with Bass's coloration and personality.

* TransformationSequence: Robotboy, Robotgirl and Protoboy all get a pretty awesome one.
