** Ness took this UpToEleven by suffering no adverse effects while being exposed to sound waves said to be equal to the shock wave produced by a bomb exploding next to one's ear.

As players change avatars when a character dies, because they want to change character, or between threads or story arcs, there are LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters.

Furthermore, in the Desperado Incursions arc, several protagonists stole [=HF=] weaponry off of Desperado mooks, or from the World Marshall headquarters. To further the dissonance, the grave robber didn't kill the people whose things he stole. The group did.

We Are Our Avatars (Escapist) is a permanently open Roleplay thread started on the Escapist by SUBJECT_DELTA, which now has multiple sequel threads, plus a spin-off thread.

In We Are Our Avatars, the players control the character in their forum avatar. Many players also bring in extra characters from that universe as support character (however they are not always from the same universe), and some play as original characters. The thread is similar to Ramthundar's Roleplay/AvatarAdventures, but was unconnected (except by certain characters). As many characters are from popular media, their abilities are well known or known to be non-existent.

* AGodAmI: When [=SilverShadow=] (user) got the 40,000th post, He declared himself 'a God'
*** This has been a RunningGag on the thread as many people that get posts that are multiples of 10,000 or so posts declare themselves as 'a God'.
*** Those that get posts that are multiples of 1,000 may declare themselves demi-gods.

** A Class X-4 happened with [[spoiler: Joe's home universe. With [[PoweredByAForsakenChild a single soul]] keeping it all together, it all fell into oblivion when that soul was taken.]]

** In the sixth thread, this was the solution to the [[PuzzleBoss Icarus battle]], where one of the golems shielding him would give off a glow.

** In the seventh thread, once pinned down by Lasinius, Greed slammed his palms onto Lasinius' ears to rupture his eardrums.

After all this, no one was so much as hostile towards him.

Bonus points if it's lesbian sex! This tradition was done away with after the forth entry in the series. Largely, anyway.

** Ferdinand, Joel (From Concession), Matt, Vriska (technically), Gwen, Four, Mia, Charlotte, Laura, Roland and many more are all either bisexual or in homosexual relationships yet not confirmed as exclusively homosexual.

** Subverted later in the threads, though there is still a hand full of Bi characters in them.

* TheEmpire: Ragnarök. Considering it's run by someone who believes in TheEvilsOfFreeWill, it's unsurprising that it's not a nice place to live.
* PrivateMilitaryContractors: Desperado, a company out {{Cyborg}}s, out to start a WarForFunAndProfit.

** Subverted by Eddie and Black.
*** Also subverted by Matilda.

** The eyes of those mind-controlled by Loki will become [[{{CreepyBlueEyes}} an unnatural blue colour]].

** [[{{WordOfGod}} Though not seen in-thread]], Eve's mind-controlling crystal turns the eyes of the person being controlled blue.

* FanService: Oh god! You wouldn't believe how much is in these threads! For example, 80% of out happened in Rome is fanservice.

** Dirty's rapist Brigade. A bunch of demons who commit rape, with tentacles. Though that scene was an accident, (It's hard to explain) it still managed to be both hilariously funny and seriously creepy. But it was [[{{Retcon}} retconned]], and even James was pro retconning it.
** Part of the 20% of non-fanservice in Rome was Four giving birth to triplet kittens.
** In the seventh thread, Seras was splashed with acid which dissolved her uniform, exposing her ample bosom. What made this fandisservice is that the acid began dissolving said bosom after that. A day later, very much the same happened, but with fire.

** Greed and Roxy did this when a home owner caught them in the act of home invasion. Greed disposed of the witness while Roxy stole the things were deemed of vallue. Greed then knocked the [[GasLeakCoverup gas pipe]] of the stove loose, lit a candle and left, closing the door behind him.

** A great deal of what happened while Knife was in the future (as that was required to continue Trilby's plot, and Knife was busy with exams at the time, so there wasn't much plot advancement).

** In the seventh thread, both Roxy and Ness had a TroubledBackstoryFlashback.

** Also in the seventh thread, Edward Alphonse had a flashback about his time in Skyrim. Specifically his time with the [[MemeticMutation Whiterun Guards]]

** Friendly fire happens surprisingly little considering how, but it does occur from time to time. Mostly when ranged fighters don't hold their fire when melee fighters engage the enemy.

* FromASingleCell:
** So long as their Philosopher's Stones aren't depleted of souls, Homonculi can recover from any injury, even if that injury is complete disintegration.

** In the second thread, there was a zombie outbreak, then two usages of weapons of mass destruction ([[WhatTheHellHero one of which was set off by a protagonist.]]), then aliens invaded and destroyed every satellite orbiting Earth, followed the orbital bombarding of several locations, and finally... See Apocalypse How.
** In the third thread, things didn't go much better. See Apocalypse How.
** In the Queen of Blades plot, [[spoiler: Alice threw Thresher in the seventh floor which caused the stealth mission to fail. Edward accidentally killed a bunch of civilians in a huge explosion along with killing the guards in the security room [[WhatTheHellHero which the group used as hostages]], in turn that led him to have a depressive fit. And worse of all, 'Sarah', the group's employer, got killed at the end by [[WhatTheHellHero her coworker, Makoto]]; therefore rendering the group's effort to save her pointless. ]]

* GardenOfEvil: Central park was converted into one of these in the sixth thread due to the Skye strain of the Logan virus.
* GasMaskMook: Valentine controlled [[CloneArmy a small army]] of these in the third thread.

** Some of [[{{EliteMooks}} the more powerful]] creatures in [=WAOA6=] had crystal hearts.
** Raven had a crystal heard, also, until it was replaced with a real heart by Thanatos for his help in retrieving the TomeOfEldritchLore.

* GetOutOfJailFreeCard: The protagonists that were involved in the hostage situation in the third arc of the seventh thread were given this by the State of Texas for stopping the zombie appocalypse a few months prior.
* GladToBeAliveSex: Had by Kara and Torrin after the end of the second arc in the seventh thread.

** Ethan, the Pokemon trainer averts this trope. He seems to be doing okay other than getting turned into a werewolf and changing into a wolf at night. Which really just means that he has to hide somewhere during the night.

* HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday: Almost completely inverted. Almost none of the characters have done this. If they did, it was probably ignored, e.g. Sara, Winona, and [=EMily=]. But not Gwen. She was a lesbian for a particular reason.

** In the sixth thread, Erica had a Nightmares, an entity indirectly created by Shadar.

* HeroismWontPayTheBills: [[{{DudeWheresMyReward}} Except when the heroes go out of their way to request payment]].
* HighAltitudeBattle: The battle against the Order of Sanctity in the ninth thread, where Samus and Gwen fought flying, (That is, Gwen did the flying and [[FastballSpecial threw Samus at the enemy.]]) Shara fought on top of her ship while it was on autopilot, [=EMily=] using a gunport on Dave's ship, with support of an [=XCOM=] squad, who fought from the loading bay of their aircraft. This battle doubled as a HighSpeedBattle.

** Happened in the seventh thread, where a [=PMC=] office was stormed. The situation ended in the deaths of at least seventeen policemen, and three employees. [[WhatTheHellHero and this was done by the protagonists.]]

** In the seventh thread, the Meta used Laguna as a human shield to protect himself from [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge Erica's wrath]]. [[ShootTheHostage Erica wasn't having it,]] [[TakeAThirdOption and fired off a spell that she got to decide what it does and doesn't damage.]]
** Also in the seventh thread, later then the above, Greed grabbed a police officer in a HostageSituation at a [=PMC=] company. Personel of said company decided to shoot anyway, [[ShootingSuperman which didn't have any effect on Greed]].

** The Meta/Maine uses whatever object at hand to fight, [[GrievousHarmWithABody including enemies]].
** Matilda uses her cane and cutlery as weapons, though she does enchant them to make them more dangerous.
* IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight: In the second thread, this was done to get Jio back in control after Satan took over for the first time. Also in the second thread, it was done in an attempt to get Erica back after Regulus took over. It didn't work.

* InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons: Plot lines in the third and seventh thread featured a dragon for no other reason then [[{{RuleOfCool}} that dragons are cool.]]

** Joe's portals can only be activated by 2D people

** As of the seventh thread, characters have begun pointing how that (Almost) all of them [[AliensSpeakingEnglish speak the same language despite being from different universes]].

** In the ninth thread, the first battle of the Mann-ly Adventure had the protagonists facing dozens of Scout-bots whose tactics consisted of 'charge at the enemy and beat them down'.

The breach then reformed, but the fragments aligning in the wrong way. [[RuleOfSymbolism The cracks signified her deteriorating memory and general]] SanitySlippage.
