* [[Characters/RWBYAdamTaurus Adam Taurus]] is the embodiment of spite and cruelty. A high-ranking member of the Faunus liberation group [[Characters/RWBYWhiteFang the White Fang]], Adam begins verging into [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist extremist terrorist attacks]] with no care for innocents who die, prompting his LoveInterest, [[Characters/RWBYBlakeBelladonna Blake Belladonna]], to flee the group. Adam later assists in the attack on Beacon Academy, during the Vytal Festival, unleashing Grimm on the city. When encountering Blake, Adam vows to kill everything she loves, maiming Yang when she tries to defend Blake and trying to murder Blake herself. When the high leader of the White Fang, the well-intentioned Sienna Khan, objects to what Adam has done, Adam murders her and takes her place before ordering Blake's family killed to "keep his promise" to her. Adam then leads a White Fang attack to destroy Haven Academy, spitefully attempting to detonate explosives to kill himself, Blake and all the Faunus present, White Fang or innocent, when he's cornered by the authorities. Adam later savagely slaughters his own former followers of the White Fang when they question him and returns to stalking Blake, hellbent on murdering her and making her suffer for "ruining his life".

** She starts by attacking the Fall Maiden, Amber, in an attempt to steal her power. After she fails in that regard thanks to the interference of Qrow, she begins to orchestrate a plot to bring down Beacon Academy.
** The aforementioned plot has her lurk in the shadows and rig the matches of the Vytal Festival Tournament. With the help of her henchmen, Mercury and Emerald, she manages to break Yang by having her attack Mercury seemingly in cold blood, damaging her reputation. Then, during the semifinals, she manipulates Pyrrha into killing the artificial human Penny and launches a full-scale Grimm invasion afterwards.
** During the chaos, she kills Amber for good and becomes the Fall Maiden, and kills both Ozpin and Pyrrha in combat with her newfound powers. While she needed to retreat after Ruby unknowingly used her Silver Eyes against her, she would only get worse from here.
** After training her Fall Maiden powers in Salem's domain, she leads an attack on Haven Academy to obtain the Relic of Knowledge--and her victory at Beacon has her double down on her worst traits. After rubbing Pyrrha's death in Jaune's face, she impales Weiss with a spear just to spite him more. She then joins who she thinks is the Spring Maiden, Vernal, to retrieve the relic--but instead kills her so she could have the Maiden powers to herself. Thankfully, she had the wrong person and the actual Spring Maiden, Raven, defeats her in combat--but that defeat would make her even worse.
** After recovering and allying with Neo (the henchman of her former ally Roman), she heads to Atlas to try and obtain the Winter Maiden's power, unknowingly managing to manipulate Ironwood and Team RWBY against each other. Her initial attempt at the Winter Maiden's powers are foiled when Penny (rebuilt after the Vytal Festival) gets the power for herself.
** Salem's orders for her to not pursue the new Winter Maiden is ignored when Cinder fights Penny again at Amity, wasting no time in trying to kill her to obtain the Maiden power (as seen in the page image). After she's defeated again, Cinder begins to hatch a brand new plan with Neo and her fellow comrade Watts... and things get even more ugly.
** Using the Relic of Knowledge (which she obtained during Volume 7's finale) to get the jump on Ruby and her allies' plans, Cinder locks Watts in the Atlas control center and leaves him to burn to death in retaliation for some scathing words Watts left on her, and attacks Ruby and her allies mere moments before they become home free. She manages to successfully knock Team RWBY into the void--as well as Neo, whom she betrays thanks to her threatening her earlier--and obtains the Relic of Creation.
** Lastly (as of now), she manages to kill Penny again in an attempt to gain the Winter Maiden's power (and since Penny's a human at this point, it'll take a miracle to bring her back from the dead again), and although Jaune deals the death blow to Penny so Winter can have the Maiden power, the wounds Cinder inflicted on her was fatal, meaning that Penny would've died regardless.
