* IAmNotShazam: Momoko, the sayer of Koushi-dono, is not Sumomo, she is only Momoko. Try saying that fast!

* RaisedAsTheWrongGender: [[spoiler: Shintarou]]. Tragic due to the fact that, due to how they were raised, they didn't even know their biological sex until someone outside of their family told them.

So far, a reasonably typical martial-arts-and-romance anime. Now, factor into the equation that [[OnlySaneMan everything in the show except Koshi is bordering on the insane]], and anything and everything is taken to [[RuleOfFunny ridiculous extremes]].
