* {{Expy}}: He bears a very strong resemblance to Bakura, particularly Bakura's manga incarnation. Both are introduced relatively later in their respective series, and are initially friendly and innocuous but turn out to be hiding a darker side, being cruel, sadistic, and LaughingMad. Both are clever manipulators, but take very active roles in their plots. Both use Decks based on "evil spirit"-themed Fiend-types, vary their strategies considerably between appearances, and tend to favor lockdown strategies and alternate win conditions such as mill. Both serve mainly as agents of the GreaterScopeVillain. Both are distinctly inferior Duelists to the main character and rely on unfair tactics to get an edge, but tend to stay effective as villains due to cleverness. And both are incarnations of a villain from the distant past who was completely psychotic, but [[spoiler:had a sympathetic background]].

The second Barian Emperor to appear on Earth, Alito believes that Girag's lack of progress makes him unsuitable to represent the Barians on Earth; however, shortly after arriving, Alito proceeds to fall in love with Tori, distracting him from the Barian mission as well. He uses the Battlin' Boxers/Burning Knuckle monsters, a series of monsters themed around boxing, to support his Numbers: "Number 80: Rhapsody in Berserk", "Number C80: Requiem in Berserk", "Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus", and his ace, "Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus".

Cestus". He also relies heavily on Counter Traps to punish the opponent and open them up for his own attacks.

Added DiffLines:

* AmbiguouslyBi: He's explicitly got a crush on with Tori, but it is notable in the Japanese version of the show that he has a similar awakening about ''Yuma,'' indicating that he has feelings for both characters.

Added DiffLines:

* TheHeavy: Of all the Barians, his plan to stop Yuma is simple- he just walks up to Yuma and attacks him on the spot. Later he shows that dueling wise he's likely the strongest of the Barians, able to go toe to toe with numerous opponents and come out on top easily. Kite is the only person able to really fight back against him for a real length of time.

He duels with a "Numeron" deck focused around the Field Spell "Numeron Network," which allows Don Thousand to disrupt his opponents during their turns by rewriting the effects of their cards. Added DiffLines:

* AchillesHeel: His initial gameplan against Mizael and Yuma involves them not knowing how the Numeron Network's reality-rewriting ability works and that it's tied to his field spell. While he comes back from its removal and has already moved on to using Numerounius to win, it does somewhat level the playing field and gives Yuma and Nasch a real chance to win.

Wields No. 102: Holy Lightning - Glorious Halo and [=CNo.=] 102: Unholy Lightning - Noble Demon.

His true origins relate to the story of the Knight and Pegasus, which is told in the first set of ruins that hold one of the 7 legendary Numbers (No. 44: White Sky Horse - Sky Pegasus), as well as the pegasus' spirit, Mach. He is actually the knight that rode the pegasus, and a friend of (past life) Shark, whose kingdom he helped save once.

The second of the two missing Barian Emperors. As with Nash, they vanished some time ago, and Vector speculates they are in the human world. Marin sacrificed her life to summon "Number 94: Crystalzero" to free "Number 73: Abyss Splash" from Vector's control, becoming reborn as a Barian. After being killed along with Nash as a Barian by Vector, she was reincarnated as a human child, Rio Kastle.

The first being from the Barian World, Vector is the true instigator of the plot and the reason behind all of Dr. Faker and Tron's villainous actions. Everything from setting up Kazuma and Arclight for a fall to the collection of the Numbers was done on this being's behalf, as he promised Faker a cure for Haruto's illness. Was the holder of No. 66: Supreme-Key Beetle - Master Key Beetle and is the holder of [=CNo.=] 5: Perishing-Gloom Dragon - Chaos Chimera Dragon, No. 43: Soul Puppeteering Demon - Soul Marionetter, [=CNo.=] 43: Soul-Puppeteering Demon God - Chaos Marionetter, No. 104: Masquerade Magician - Shining, and [=CNo.=] 104: Masquerade Magician - Umbral.

His true identity is the prince of the ruined castle in the myth of No. 65: Adjudicutting Devil - Judge Buster, who executed a large amount of people, attacked (past life) Shark and Rio's kingdom, and then committed suicide when he was the only one left. However, this information is being hidden from him by Don Thousand, so his reaction remains to be seen, other than involuntary reactions of fear and occasional recognition within the ruins themselves. His main reaction was not caring until it was revealed just HOW much Don Thousand had screwed his life up.

* AbusiveParents: His father from his past life as a prince most definitely was this. He was a ruthless and blood-thirsty conqueror and sadist who would always beat, force and manipulate Vector to join him on his conquests despite his constant pleas that he didn't want to . He also physically and verbally abused his wife in front of Vector all the time. After he became ill, Vector became the new king and he took this opportunity to make a peace treaty with the other kingdoms to stop the wars that his father started . This enraged his father, to the point that he said that he regretted to bring him into this world. He then proceeded to take his sword from Vector and try to STAB HIM TO DEATH (note that he was only 13 years old at the time). His mother then came and protected him from the slashes before dying in Vectors arms. The king's reaction to this? Nothing at all. Just him telling his wife and son to "shut up" before he himself collapses. Also note how for the other Barian Emperors, Don Thousand had to brainwash their friends and allies to manipulate them. For Vector, he didn't even do that meaning that the king was simply naturally evil. Is there any wonder why Vector falls for Don Thousand's corruption so easily ?

* DirtyCoward: He certainly contains shades of this. Girag gets other people to duel Yuma, partly because he's scared of getting zapped back to Barian world, and he's genuinely intimidated by the strength of the Yuma+Astral team. Much of this seems to owe to the fact that being unable to use 106 or its upgraded form significantly limits his prowess. Later it's revealed relying on allies to fight big battles has always been his style. Girag panics when he accidentally traps himself in a duel versus Yuma, but soon regains his composure, being the mix of cowardly and tough that he is.

Peek A Bangs has been disambiguated

* PeekABangs: Partially the "mysterious" variety, since he's a Barian Lord, partially the "seductive" since he enjoys trying to hit on people, and partially "vulnerable" since he's the youngest of the Barians and seems to be the least focused on their mission.

The second of the two missing Barian Emperors As with Nash, they vanished some time ago, and Vector speculates they are in the human world. While Durbe believes Shark and Rio are Nash and Marin, Don Thousand claims that Vector killed them at some point. Both turn out to be true. She is the owner of No. 103: Ragna Zero, and [=CNo.=] 103: Ragna Infinity, the Funerary Sub-Zero Maiden.

* LaughablyEvil: Even when playing mind games with Yuma, especially in episode 96, you can't help but also laugh ''with'' him while he breaks Yuma's spirit.

Added DiffLines:

* PracticallyJoker: He checks a number of boxes, at a more {{troll}}ish level. On top of being an efficient master manipulator and plays mind games with Yuma in the most over-the-top way possible, he is prone to intervals of {{Laughing Mad}}. Hell, he's the most dangerous among the Barian Emperors and has made an enemy of his fellow emperors, namely Nasch.

* HeelFaceTurn: Subverted over and over and over. Guy's a ''massive'' troll. Finally [[DoubleSubverted done for real]] in Episode 138, which has [[spoiler:Don Thousand being freed and trying to absorb Vector, who screams in terror and for help. This prompts Yuma to jump in to try and rescue him from this grim fate, despite the pleas of his friends that Vector cannot be trusted and shouldn't be rescued. This does not stop him however from grabbing Vector' hand to keep him from being absorbed, and calls Vector "Shingetsu", reminiscing on their times together as friends, and telling him it is his true self. Vector appears moved by Yuma, but then reveals his psychotic face and laughs, grabbing Yuma's arm with his other hand, to drag him with him to his demise. However, Yuma didn't seem to mind, and just smiled at Vector compassionately, telling him he will go with him. This time, Vector is truly moved by his rescuer, lets go of him and lets himself be absorbed by Don Thousand to save Yuma, calling him "Yuma-kun" one last time with a sincere smile. Can be counted as BecomingTheMask, though it might just be the real Vector from before Don Thousand's interference. Might also count as DyingAsYourself, which seems likely as his change sticks after being revived.]]

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* DavidVersusGoliath: At first it seems like he's taking this Trope UpToEleven, seeing as his Number is so tiny it's barely visible, while V, one of his opponents, is using what is arguably the ''biggest'' monster in the franchise, (Number 9: Dyson Sphere, which is the size of a small star.) However, [[spoiler:this Trope is subverted twice over. First of all, his Number eventually becomes a Goliath itself, and second, unlike most Davids, he loses.]]

* StoryBreakerPower: In true ''Yu-Gi-Oh!'' villain fashion, Don Thousand's deck is utterly ridiculous. [[spoiler:One Counter Trap Card lets him force his opponent (Mizael, no less) to OTK ''himself'', and another negates Utopia's summon and replaces it with Ganbara Knight with its effect negated. How does he use these? He activates them from his deck using a Field Spell he can play in the opponents' Draw Phase. Said Field Spell also allows him to use the effects of his Numeron Xyz monsters without having to detach Over Ray Units. His Ace Monster, Number C1000: Numerronius the Divine Giant, has 10,000 attack and powerful effects to back it up. Worst of all, that monster has an upgraded form called Number [=Ci1000=]: Numerronius Numerronia with ''100,000'' ATK, and one hell of an effect - the opponent is either forced to attack it and take massive damage, or, if they can't, [[NonStandardGameOver automatically lose]]. To be slightly fair though, his Field Spell can only be used once per turn and requires him to have no other cards out.]]
