* ProperlyParanoid: Cubone/Marowak is overprotective towards Adrien, especially towards human girls, but not without reason. She knows how popular Adrien with the many suitors he has, but is too polite and kind to turn them down. She knows how popular Adrien with the many suitors he has, but is too polite and kind to turn them down. Combine with how clingy some of them get with Adrien (i.e. Chloé and Lila), she's wary that they'll violate Adrien's personal space without consent.[[spoiler: This suspicion is proven true when Lila [[ForcefulKiss kiss]] Adrien without his consent in Chapter 48]]. Although she knows that Marinette has cleaner intentions compared to his fangirls, she's still cautious on the chances that Marinette might be a liability towards Adrien due to her [[TheKlutz clumsy nature]].

Throughout her journey, Marinette has encountered countless Pokémon in the Kalos region, including those who end up joining her. Whether it was through the usual Pokéball method or the aspiring fashion designer befriended them, Marinette shares a close bond with her team as they strive to be the best they can be while accompanying her on her journey. Although not reliant on pure power, they prove to be a formidable team with the combination of having some tricks up their sleeves, Marinette's quick-thinking, and a bit of luck.

The deuteragonist of the story. Child prodigy of the Kalos Champion and groomed to be the next to take the title from him, Adrien yearns for more out of his Pokémon journey and to grow out of his father's shadow. The mysterious disappearance of his mother four years prior still haunts him. Also operates as the other half of the heroic duo actively thwarting Team Akuma, taking on the liberating mask of Liepard Noir.

She knows how popular Adrien with the many suitors he has, but is too polite and kind to turn them down. !!The "Miraculous Masters" / Defenders of Kalos

[[folder: As a whole]]
The main stars of the story, the ''WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug'' protagonists imported into the world of Pokémon. A pair of young Pokémon Trainers undergoing their [[ComingOfAgeStory individual journeys]] while taking it upon themselves to protect Kalos and loved ones after their first encounter with Team Akuma.
-----
* {{Adorkable}}: Both are endearing both in and out of costume, especially when trying to impress their crushes.
* AffectionateNickname: Liepard Noir sometimes calls Lady Ledian "Scatterbug-a-boo" on top of the usual milady. Likewise, Lady Ledian refers to him as "[[JustForPun Pard]]" by his request, though she sees him more as a "silly Skitty."
* BadassAdorable: Both are pretty dorky and cute teens who are the beloved and heroic superheroes of their region.
* BattleCouple: Marinette wished she and Adrien were this, and she kind of got her wish, [[ZigZagged zig zagged]] however. Like in the main series, the two aren't a couple but have romantic feelings for another and are Kalos defenders against Poison Moth. Problem is, like in the show, Marinette aka Lady Ledian is in love with Adrien while Adrien aka Liepard Noir is in love with Lady Ledian.
* BewareOfTheNiceOnes: Just as in the main series, both of them are generally sweet and nice people. If anyone hurts Adrien or endangers her friends, Marinette can be ''terrifying'' and Adrien will be absolutely merciless whenever his friends are at risk.
* TheChosenOne: After Master Fu witnessed Marinette and Adrien fighting back Team Akuma in their first encounter, he was impressed with their courage, deeming them worthy to wield the Earring of Xerneas (Marinette) and the Ring of Yveltal (Adrien). Though this is [[PlayingWithATrope played]] with as Master Fu [[TheChosenMany could have chosen more experienced trainers]], but chose two rookie trainers out of the lot. Master Fu explained while he chose them because both Marinette and Adrien displayed great potential, they decided themselves to don the masked hero persona to fight Team Akuma in order to protect their loved ones. He simply gave them the Key Stones that will help them in their endeavor.
* FriendlyRival: Both Marinette and Adrien are friends and rivals who help each other out during their journey, though mostly because Marinette CannotSpitItOut.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Despite their accomplishments in the story, both Marinette and Adrien suffer from their own doubts and insecurities.
** Marinette still retains some of her self-doubt and insecurities even when she has accomplished much both as a trainer and a superhero. She feels that Liepard Noir would be disappointed that Lady Ledian's civilian identity is just a clumsy girl with no real desire ToBeAMaster other than use it to impress her crush.
** Adrien hides his insecurities in regards to the expectations forced upon him to succeed his father. As Liepard Noir, he takes several jabs at his civilian identity as seen in Chapter 32.
* LargeHam: To varying degrees. Marinette tends to have DramaQueen tendencies on top of an overactive imagination when things go wrong in her attempts to impress Adrien. And then there's [[PungeonMaster Liepard Noir]] being the lovable goofball he is, even during times of crisis against Team Akuma.
* LovesMyAlterEgo: Just the same as from the main show, same dynamics and all.
* MagicalAccessory: Marinette's earring and Adrien's ring. They're [[TransformationTrinket Key Stones to help invoke Mega Evolution]], [[spoiler: but they also have drops of power from Xerneas and Yveltal, respectively. Power that can remove the forced Bond Hybrid transformation inflicted by Team Akuma from a person and their Pokémon and restore their integrity. They're why Poison Moth is openly launching attacks on Kalos to draw them out as he believes the Key Stones would lead him to the mentioned OlympusMons]].
* PaperThinDisguise: Unlike the main series where their costumes were produced by magic, Marinette and Adrien had to acquire their superhero costumes on their own (Marinette made her own while Adrien covertly used his wealth and resources to acquire his) and find opportunities to change without others finding out. But given that this is the [[JustifiedTrope Pokemon universe]], no one can really tell it’s them under the masks. They make Team Rocket proud.
* RedOniBlueOni: Zigzagged. Marinette is the emotional Red Oni to Adrien’s reserved Blue Oni. However, Lady Ledian is the collected Blue Oni compared to the reckless Red Oni that is Liepard Noir.
* SingleTargetSexuality: Again, they unknowingly have eyes only for each other, [[spoiler: even with the likes of Kagami and Luka introduced into the story, but even then, these new character don't show much romantic interest at their intended targets]].
* TechnicianVersusPerformer: Zigzagged. In general, Marinette is the Performer to Adrien’s Technician. But in their hero costumes, Lady Ledian focuses more on tactics while Liepard Noir, despite being [[InformedAttribute highly educated on Pokémon moves and abilities]], is more bold and reckless in his battle style.
* ToBeAMaster: Averted for both. Marinette doesn't have the desire to be the next Champion and is only competing in the Kalos League so that she can be close to Adrien. Adrien on the other hand is only competing because he feels everyone pressuring him to follow in his father's footsteps and he hopes winning the Kalos League would have his father come back to him.

[[folder: Marinette Dupain-Cheng / Lady Ledian]]
The leading protagonist we follow starting her Pokémon journey in the Kalos region, hoping to gain inspiration for her fashion designs and to learn more about Pokémon. She also aims in competing in the Kalos League in hopes of being closer to Adrien than she was back in Lumiose Trainer Academy. Is also part of the duo that actively thwarts Team Akuma's schemes, donning the persona of Lady Ledian.
-----
* ActionGirl: Marinette, naturally as she is a Pokémon trainer and takes this UpToEleven as her Kalos defender counterpart, Lady Ledian, when it comes to facing Team Akuma.
* AsleepInClass: It has been mentioned that Marinette often dozes off or daydreams about Adrien during their Trainer School days in Lumiose City. Marinette regrets this whenever she can't remember important facts or details during their lecture when they later become important in her journey.
* BerserkButton:
** Don't belittle Adrien in front of her, as the audience in Chapter 41 soon experienced [[TranquilFury via her Gardevoir's Psychic]].
** Never insult or demean her Pokémon in anyway.
** She doesn't take it too kindly whenever someone insults her love for Adrien as a 'fangirl phase'.
* {{Catchphrase}}:
** When calling upon her Ledyba/Ledian, Marinette uses “Tikki, spots on!”
** Also, when Marinette catches a new Pokémon or wins a gym badge, she yells, “Miraculous Ledyba/Ledian!” The Ledyba/Ledian part depended on the stage Tikki is in.
** [[spoiler: For Mega Evolving Gardevoir, she says "Grace on! Mega Evolve!"]]
* ChefOfIron: Like her great-uncle, Marinette's noted to be an excellent baker and trainer who also happens to be a masked superhero.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Is prone to jealousy whenever a girl flirts or gets too close for comfort to Adrien, which causes her to act irrationally when pushed too far, but she reserves this for Chloé and later Lila. [[spoiler: Lila's act of leading Adrien away and [[ForcefulKiss kissing him]] was enough to impulsively drive Marinette to wear her Lady Ledian mask and just like in the main show, it made her call out Lila on her lies in Chapter 48, humiliating Lila in from of Adrien, which renders her vulnerable to become Team Akuma's Bond Hybrid]].
** Ironically, [[CasanovaWannabe Liepard Noir]] tries to invoke this on Lady Ledian when he was giving Alya attention after [[spoiler: saving Xavier at the Kalos Power Plant]] near the end of Chapter 33. [[SubvertedTrope Lady Ledian teasingly boops him back on the nose in response]].
** Downplayed in Chapter 52 [[spoiler: when Liepard Noir was getting close to the new heroine, Delphox Rouge, though it was more out of annoyance that her Pard was being distracted during a confrontation against Team Akuma. However, it is hinted that her hidden negativity caused her Gardevoir to lose her Mega Evolution early again]].
* CombatPragmatist: Her battle style since her Pokémon in general are not particular powerhouses.
* CrushBlush: Marinette’s default reaction around Adrien early on in the story, often described to [[UpToEleven ridiculous levels]].
* CuteClumsyGirl: She's noted to be quite clumsy, especially early on in the story where she often trips on her own feet and whenever around Adrien. Though when she's Lady Ledian, she becomes more competent.
* CutenessProximity: Her common reaction towards [[RidiculouslyCuteCritter small, cute Pokémon]] like Pikachu and Dedenne. Unfortunately both are [[ShockAndAwe Electric-Type]] [[HarmlessElectrocution Pokémon]]. HilarityEnsues.
* DudeMagnet: While not as pronounced as in the main show, Marinette is still considered attractive to many. Nathaniel was attracted to her prior to the story before it was mentioned he got over her. And [[spoiler: Luka]] displayed some vague interest towards her while in Laverre City. As Lady Ledian, she has a number of fanboys as seen in Chapter 49. And then there's [[LovesMyAlterEgo Liepard Noir]].
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: If Alya's intel is anything to go by, Lady Ledian has her fair share of female admirers as with her male admirers.
* FashionDesigner: An aspiring fashion designer who hopes to gains inspiration for her designs while travelling through Kalos.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: As her parents own a bakery, Marinette has some skills in baking, particularly bakery goods and Poké Puffs that her Pokémon enjoy. This is shown in Chapter 34 where, with the help of her party, baked plenty of goods for both Adrien and her Pokémon team. Alya has encouraged her to use her baking skills more often to [[ThroughHisStomach increase her chances with Adrien]].
* GenkiGirl: Constantly optimistic and full of energy despite suffering crippling self-esteem issues and getting flustered around Adrien.
* GibberishOfLove: Early in the story, she'd often mix up words in her sentences whenever she's in the presence of Adrien.
* GirlishPigtails: Wouldn't be Marinette without the hairstyle.
* GirlsAreReallyScaredOfHorrorMovies: She's not a big fan of horror. She was terrified when she and Alya ventured through the Scary House in Chapter 44 and dreads the thought of a Darkrai visiting her in the dead of night while she sleeps.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: Her Pokémon team mostly consists of either cute or feminine Pokémon, often has romantic fantasies about Adrien and is an aspiring fashion designer. That being said, she's also a Pokémon Trainer competing for the Kalos League and was willing to rock-climb in the Cyllage Gym.
* GracefulLoser: In Chapter 55 [[spoiler: after losing to Chloé in their rematch and despite her rival's UnsportsmanlikeGloating, Marinette keeps it together long enough to actually congratulate Chloé on her victory, which actually sours it for her as Chloé wanted Marinette to be miserable over it]] Though downplayed as[[spoiler: she does still feel saddened over the fact that she lost to Chloé of all people, which she shows after Chloé left]].
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: Or rather luck, as it has played as a decisive factor in Marinette's battle style.
* HeavySleeper: Has required Alya using her Elekid to shock her awake, but she has been getting better [[spoiler: since Alya is not always around during her journey]].
* HeWillNotCrySoICryForHim: In Chapter 41, [[spoiler: after Adrien's loss against his father with the addition of Gabriel's harsh TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, he retreats to his favorite spot in Lumiose City's natural park. However, as the Champion Agreste's son, [[StepfordSmiler he can't cry in front of anyone]], which Marinette soon noticed. When Marinette finds him, she realizes she's crying for him]].
--> '''Adrien''': It's ironic. I came here [[spoiler: after the match]] thinking I was going to cry. But as Champion Agreste's son, [[BrokenAce I can't]].\\
'''Marinette''': Then... let me cry for you. It's the least I could do.
* HeroicBSOD: She occasionally had these.
** Marinette suffers a brief and minor one in the Parfum Palace tag battle during the first round, wherein she is eliminated first and Adrien had to fight off [[OfficialCouple Ivan and Mylène]] on his own. Despite being able to move on to the next round, Marinette felt humiliated for holding Adrien back and ran off before Adrien found her and snapped her out of it.
** Happens again in Chapter 23 where Marinette nearly suffered this during her battle against Jalil's Mega Lucario when the odds seems against her and she begins to freak out. It is only when Alya [[GetAHoldOfYourselfMan snaps her out of it]] by giving her [[RousingSpeech a speech that reminded her of her goal]].
** When Marinette faced Team Akuma for the first time as Lady Ledian, she was affected by the grunts taunts because of how [[VillainHasAPoint true]] and [[AccidentalTruth accurate]] they are to an extent. Liepard Noir's timely rescue and [[ShutUpHannibal shutting down their taunts]] helped her find the courage she needed to face them.
** A subtle one happens ever since [[spoiler: the Lila incident since Chapter 47, where Marinette's unable to keep her Gardevoir in her Mega Evolved form for too long and both end up exhausted. It's implied that her negative feelings like jealousy are the root of the cause]].
* HonorBeforeReason: [[spoiler: During her fight against Lila's Mawile, when Gardevoir appeared to have gain the upper, Alya encourages Marinette to use Mega Evolution to keep that advantage. Marinette refuses because Lila won't Mega Evolve her Mawile and she doesn't want to stoop to [[ConsummateLiar Lila's]] level in order to win. This results in Marinette falling for Lila's trap and losing the match]].
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: Along the lines of her CombatPragmatist battle style, Lady Ledian has no qualms in harming people if it means stopping Bond Hybrids from wreaking havoc while Liepard Noir tries to find riskier alternatives to avoid unnecessarily harming innocent lives. [[spoiler: A good example would be attacking Mega Pidgeot with her Kirlia's Thunderbolt, even though the electrocution would also affect Mr. Pidgeot, who is riding on Mega Pidgeot's back on top of sharing the pain through their forced power bond]].
* ImagineSpot: As usual, Marinette's imagination tends to go to the extreme for either the best or the worst possible consequences, usually the latter due to worrying about either losing a Pokémon battle or getting Adrien to notice her. All played for laughs.
* MamaBear: Marinette in regards to [[AdorablyPrecociousChild Togepi]], the youngest member of her team. [[spoiler: Her nurturing nature allowed Togepi to evolve into Togetic]].
* MotorMouth: Whenever she gets nervous or recounting her fantasies (especially when they involve Adrien), Marinette has a tendency to ramble on at a fast pace.
* NiceGirl: Marinette's a sweet and kind girl to her friends, former classmates and Pokémon. After capturing Sewaddle, she offers a Poké Puff to the Sewing Pokémon as an apology for their rough start, showing no resentment. [[spoiler: Her genuine kindness towards Spinda due to her understanding of being clumsy was the reason why he became fond of her]].
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: In Chapter 48, Marinette's jealousy gets the better of her when she embarrasses Lila in front of Adrien, [[spoiler: even though she had a reason to as Lila forcibly kissed Adrien against his will]]. This indirectly causes Lila to be vulnerable to Team Akuma's ambush [[spoiler: and subsequently, Marinette's inability to keep Gardevoir's Mega Form]].
* ThePerfectionist: Downplayed but Marinette often worries of failing to be a worthy trainer in Adrien's eyes despite not being asked to be perfect by him.
* PluckyGirl: Despite having her moments of nearly despairing, she stays optimistic and determined no matter what predicament she's in.
* ThePollyanna: She always remain positive and upbeat, [[spoiler: especially after the group was separated in Glittering Cave and after Ivan's kidnapping during their first encounter with Team Akuma]].
* RedIsHeroic: Lady Ledian's outfit, although it's not entirely red due to being modeled after Ledian. The red is mostly on her mask, scarf, and shoes.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Half of Marinette's team are comprise of adorable Pokémon, such Tikki her Ledyba/Ledian, Sewaddle/Swadloon/Leavanny and Togepi/Togetic.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Wears one as Lady Ledian, which resembles Ledian's elytra.
* SlapstickKnowsNoGender: Has been subjected to the HarmlessElectrocution RunningGag.
* SoProudOfYou: Marinette takes pride in raising her Pokémon, so she'll have this reaction whenever they evolve. This is evident for Togepi, a baby Pokémon whom Marinette raised with all her heart.
* StalkerWithACrush: Marinette wouldn't like to let Adrien know she used to memorize his daily schedule.
* StealthExpert: Marinette's quite stealthy and was able to hide from Adrien and Nino when they were at the same Pokémon Centre in Chapter 34.
* StepfordSmiler: Marinette manages to keep her cheerful façade together in Chapter 55 [[spoiler: after she lost to Chloé in their second match, even congratulating the latter on her victory]]. Alya commends her for it, as it would be something she herself cannot do.
* TextileWorkIsFeminine: Marinette's shown to be making clothes with the help of her Sewaddle/Swadloon/Leavanny's silk and Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir's assistance during her journey and is definitely a girly-girl.
* TranquilFury: Marinette whenever when she's pushed to her limits [[spoiler: such as certain audience members [[BerserkButton belittling Adrien]] following his crushing defeat by his father's hand in Chapter 41 and calling out Lila on her lies as [[ClingyJealousGirl revenge]] for [[ForcefulKiss kissing Adrien]] in Chapter 48]].
* TransformationTrinket: She received a Key Stone in the form of a pair of earrings courtesy of Master Fu [[spoiler: and is connected to Xerneas]]. Her Gardevoir has a Gardevoirite that is kept as a pin to hold a shawl that Marinette made for Gardevoir.
* TookALevelInBadass: In the flashback in Chapter 1, Marinette was timid and she feared that experience in Professor Damocles' lab before Tikki and Adrien helped her. After starting her Pokémon journey and later becoming Lady Ledian, she becomes more assertive and confident; improving her skills as a Trainer and hero.
* {{Tsundere}}: She's a mild Type-B. Marinette's normally sweet and kind, but Liepard Noir brings out her tsun-tsun side when dealing with his humor, cockiness, or attempts to flirt with her, both in and out of costume. She shares this with her [[BirdsOfAFeather Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir]].
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: [[spoiler: Although she isn't Adrien's girlfriend, in Chapter 41, the audience are spilt on Adrien's performance after the exhibition match and several trainers begin dissing Adrien. Marinette had just about enough of Adrien being badmouth and [[TranquilFury has her Gardevoir use Psychic to make everyone involved in the fight float above the ground so they would stop]]]].
* WeakButSkilled: Marinette's Pokémon aren't powerhouses compared to Adrien's, a fact she herself acknowledges. She makes up for this through making use of her Pokémon's abilities, [[AwesomeByAnalysis analyzing her surroundings]] and uses her quick thinking to devise or adapt her strategies during battles.
* WhatTheHellHero: Just like in the show [[spoiler: Adrien calls out on Lady Ledian for how harsh and cruel she was when exposing Lila as the fraud she is in Chapter 48, humiliating her. Granted, he acknowledges he's not going to forgive Lila anytime soon after [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace she violated his personal space]] and [[ForcefulKiss stealing]] [[SacredFirstKiss his first kiss]], but won't stoop to her level just to get back at her. [[JerkAssRealization This]] [[ItsAllMyFault has]] ''both'' contemplating on they could've handled the situation better than they initially did]].
* {{Yandere}}: PlayedForLaughs. Finding out that Adrien was injured [[spoiler: as Liepard Noir during the battle against Mr. Pidgeot in Chapter 33]] caused Marinette to briefly adopt a [[DullEyesOfUnhappiness dark expression]] and tells Alya over the phone that she would "send the evildoers to the Distortion World in a bag." Would extend to ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend, but she's technically not Adrien's girlfriend... yet. Alya does call her out on it, [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall telling her not to change the direction of the story into a "trashy attempt at romantic horror."]]
** Again played for dark laughs in Chapter 45 when Marinette imagines herself dying alone and having her ghost haunt Adrien's home and give his supposed wife her unholy revenge while convincing the living Adrien to join her in the afterlife. Even Alya was creeped out by her ImagineSpot.
* ZanyScheme: Alix mentions in Chapter 56 that Marinette came up with a lot of insane schemes just to get together with Adrien and prevent any girl from getting close to him during their days in the academy.

[[/folder]]
[[folder: Marinette's Pokémon]]
Throughout her journey, Marinette has encountered countless Pokémon in the Kalos region, including those who end up joining her. Whether it was through the usual Pokéball method or the aspiring fashion designer befriended them, Marinette shares a close bond with her team as they strive to be the best they can be while accompanying her on her journey. Although not reliant on pure power, they prove to be a formidable team with the combination of having some tricks up their sleeves, Marinette's quick-thinking, and a bit of luck.
-----
* BadassAdorable: The majority of her team are comprised of cute-looking Pokémon who are all competent in Pokémon battles. Even her not-so-cute-ones; specifically Feebas, can surprisingly be [[UglyCute consider cute in a way]]. Her Gardevoir and Leavanny were cute back when they were Ralts/Kirlia and Sewaddle/Swadloon respectively before both evolving into LadyOfWar.
* {{Determinator}}: Marinette's team shares their trainer's strong will and strive to improve themselves. This sprit is also what keeps them going during tough battles.
* MagikarpPower: Three of Marinette's Pokémon started off with low stats and limited movepool sets, but under Marinette's care they can/were able to fully realize their potential:
** Ralts has low stats and can be easily knocked out and out speed despite knowing Confusion as shown in her earlier battles. She improves when she evolves into Kirlia and learning Draining Kiss and Thunder but it's evolving into her final form, Gardevoir, does she become a powerful GlassCannon with high Special Attack and Special Defense.
** Togepi due to the fact she's a baby Pokémon and doesn't have high stats, something that Jalil pointed out during Marinette's Shalour Gym Battle. Evolving into Togetic from the close bond she shares with Marinette makes her a StoneWall, but her offensive stats are still low. Once she evolves into Togekiss via Shiny Stone, she becomes a MightyGlacier.
** Feebas is Magikarp's equivalent, but she can evolve into the beautiful and defense-oriented LightningBruiser Milotic.
* PoorPredictableRock: Her team downplays this as they are a mixture of Pokémon, but it's noted that half of her team are weak against [[ShockAndAwe Electric-Types]] (Tikki, Togepi/Togetic, Feebas) and [[AnIcePerson Ice-Types]] (Tikki, Sewaddle/Swadloon/Leavanny, Togepi/Togetic). Naturally, the Lumiose City Gym prove to a challenge due to specializing in Electric-Types.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Most of her Pokémon are absolutely adorable, especially her Togepi/Togetic and Spinda.
* TrueCompanions: One of the reasons why Marinette's growing into a competent Pokémon trainer is because of the close bond she formed with her party. In return, her team continues to support her during the journey as she does for them.

!!Ledyba/Ledian (Tikki)
Marinette's starter Pokémon. Met at Professor Damocles's Pokémon reserve. Loyal and caring like her Kwami counterpart.
-----
* ActionGirl: Tikki is of Marinette's key Pokémon in battles, having defeated several of the Gym Leader's strongest Pokémon. Particularly during Marinette's battle against the Shalour Gym Leader where she faced off against a Mega Evolved Lucario and ''won''.
* ActionInitiative: Learns Mach Punch [[spoiler: upon evolving into Ledian during the final battle against Jalil's Mega Lucario]].
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Tikki is part Bug-Type and knows Silver Wind. [[spoiler: She learns Bug Buzz during her match against Kagami's Bisharp in Chapter 60]].
* BlowYouAway: Tikki is also part Flying-Type and one notable Flying-Type moveset she has is Acrobatics.
* {{Flight}}: As a Ledyba/Ledian, she naturally knows how to fly.
* FragileSpeedster: Tikki's a Ledyba/Ledian, she has above average Speed, but has terrible HP, Defense and offensive stats.
* AHandfulForAnEye: Not exactly for an eye, but [[spoiler: Tikki unintentionally helped Marinette discover this as part of her trainer's tactic in countering Nadja's Electric Pokémon in their Gym battle [[ChekhovsGun (which was discovered during her practice battle against Alya and Electabuzz)]] by having Tikki punch up dirt and cover them in it to hinder their electricity. It was described as "a crude form of Mud Sport," [[FridgeBrilliance which weakens electric power]]. It worked on Emolga.]]
* HeadPet: As a smaller Ledyba, she would sometimes perch on top of Marinette's head when outside her Poké Ball.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: She certainly has more than one pair of limbs to use for punches, specifically Comet Punch. Even as a Ledian, she has four limbs more pronounced as actual arms, each capable of performing a Mach Punch if the situation calls for it.
* ParrotPetPosition: She would also rest on Marinette's shoulders time to time.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: Initially knew Comet Punch as Ledyba before using the more proficient Mach Punch. Her Iron Fist enhances all punch-related moves.
* SilentSnarker: Not to the same extent as [[CatsAreSnarky Plagg]], but given her trainer can be a tad absent-minded, Tikki's not above being amused by her trainer.
* StarterMon: Marinette's first Pokémon.
* StoneWall: As a Ledyba/Ledian, Tikki's above average Special Defense has helped her stay in the battle longer than she should have. [[spoiler: Which has enabled Tikki to keep on fighting and earning Marinette victory in the Santalune Gym and Shalour Gym]].
* SweetTooth: Loves Poké Puffs and cookies.
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: Her antennae are short as to signify she's a female.
* TookALevelInBadass: Since the start of the story Tikki has grown from a simple Ledyba to a Ledian who's able to defeat a Mega Evolved Lucario and [[spoiler: Tom's Sceptile in battle]].
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Tikki is said to enjoy Poké Puffs aside from cookies.

!!Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir
Marinette's second Pokémon, caught at the same time Adrien catches her friend. Encountered in Route 4. Shy and withdrawn at first, she opens up and grows in confidence the same time Marinette does during her journey.
-----
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: From Chapter 47 onwards, Gardevoir wears a red and black spotted shawl that Marinette made for her, which is held by a Gardevoirite.
* ActionGirl: She has become a powerful dual Psychic and Fairy-Type Pokémon who's capable of Mega Evolving.
* BerserkButton: As with Marinette over Adrien, don't hurt or insult Adrien's Gallade.
* BewareOfTheNiceOnes: Like her trainer, she's normally a sweet and demure Pokémon, but get on her bad side and she'll subject you with [[MindOverMatter Psychic]].
* BirdsOfAFeather: Shares a lot of personality traits with Marinette.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Knew Adrien's Ralts prior to being captured by their respective Trainers.
* DanceBattler: Like her [[{{Ballet}} design]] when she evolves to Kirlia, she's been described to be dodging with grace and elegance, often pirouetting when on the battlefield.
* TheDragonslayer: One of the virtues of being a part Fairy-Type is that she's strong and immune against Dragon-Types.
* GlassCannon: She's quite the powerhouse capable of tremendous Psychic attacks both in and out of battle. That being said, she has lackluster HP, Speed and Defense, which is shown in the Parfum Tag-Team battle, the Shalour Gym Battle and the Lumiose Gym Battle.
* GreenThumb: Knows Magical Leaf.
* GuardianAngel: Her species are based on this. As much as she reprimands Gallade's recklessness in protecting her, [[NotSoDifferent she will protect Marinette even at the cost of her life]], as shown in Chapter 51. She represents Marinette's status as one of the defenders of Kalos.
* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: As part of the Gardevoir line, she wears an elegant dress in both her normal and Mega Evolved form all the while dishing out powerful Psychic attacks. Marinette was even inspired by the elegant features for her designs.
* KissOfDeath: She knows Draining Kiss when she evolves from a Ralts to a Kirlia.
* LadyAndKnight: The Lady to Adrien's Gallade's Knight.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: Gardevoir fits, with her feminine and elegant design, high Special Attack stats and her association with magical powers.
* LadyOfWar: Once she evolves into Gardevoir, carrying an air of elegance and grace while in battle.
* LifeDrain: Draining Kiss heals Gadevoir with the energy she steals from her opponent.
* MythologyGag: [[spoiler: The Mega Evolution TransformationSequence for Gardevoir is described to match Ladybug's transformation from the show]].
* PsychicPowers: Is part Psychic-Type and knows Psychic.
* PsychosomaticSuperpowerOutage: [[spoiler:She's been unable to maintain her Mega Evolved form for long starting from dealing with Lila in Chapter 48. The narration has described how Gardevoir's psychic powers [[PsychoactivePowers are dependent on Marinette's emotional stability]] and has warned that negative emotions Marinette harbors would bring disunity to their bond]].
* OurFairiesAreDifferent: She's part Fairy-Type and knows [[KissOfDeath Draining Kiss]].
* ShockAndAwe: Knows Thunderbolt, presumably learned from Alya's Elekid.
* ShrinkingViolet: She started out this way as a Ralts, being timid and easily frightened as shown by how she met Marinette. [[CharacterDevelopment She loses this when she evolved into Kirlia during Marinette's second Gym Battle, gaining more confidence]].
* SuperMode: [[spoiler: Is able to Mega Evolve into Mega Gardevoir]].
* {{Synchronization}}: She has the ability Synchronize, which afflicts opponents with StandardStatusEffects that the user takes. So far this ability fails to be utilized twice due to the fact the opponents are Pokémon who are immune to the effects they were inflicted (Poison on a Poison-Type and Paralysis on an Electric-Type). [[spoiler: She is also well-synchronized with Marinette for the most part, such as [[BirdsOfAFeather sharing many personality traits with her]]. It gets to the point that anything that throws their bond into disunity, such as Marinette's negative feelings and doubts, would greatly impede their ability to work well, the prominent problem being Gardevoir timing out of her Mega Evolution]].
* TakingTheBullet: [[InvokedTrope She was prepared to protect Lady Ledian]] from a pair of Team Akuma Houndour in Chapter 51, [[spoiler: only for Liepard Noir's [[NotSoDifferent Gallade to intercept it and take the hit instead]], protecting both girls]].
* TookALevelInBadass: Ralts evolution into Kirlia where she won her first Gym battle, losing her initially timidity in the progress. She ups the ante with her evolution into Gardevoir near the end of the Lumiose City Siege and gaining the means to Mega Evolve.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type-B. Like her trainer, she is usually sweet and down-to-earth, but when around Adrien's Gallade, his antics often results in this reaction.

!!Sewaddle/Swadloon/Leavanny
Marinette's third Pokémon. Encountered at Santalune City. Represents Marinette's fashion designer aspect.
-----
* ActionGirl: Her introduction established her as a brave Pokémon even as a Sewaddle and was the first Pokémon Marinette used in her debut as Lady Ledian.
* AllWebbedUp: Aside from using String Shot to swing herself around, she also uses the move under its conventional uses to wrap up and slow down opponents in resilient silk.
* BarrierWarrior: Learned the skill [[NoSell Protect]] ever since Sewaddle evolved into Swadloon, which compensates for her poor Defense.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Is part Bug-type [[spoiler: and learns X-Scissor upon evolving into Leavanny]].
* BigEater: Marinette first discovers her when Sewaddle decided to eat her discarded sketch papers, thinking they were up for grabs. The narration in Chapter 34 stated that she had to be held back from eating the pastries and Poké Puffs Marinette was baking. Even as a Leavanny she still hasn't lost it.
* BuildingSwing: She utilizes String Shot to move around in higher ground, which helps her gain momentum and avoiding attacks.
* ButtBiter: During her first fight against Tikki, she used Bug Bite on her exposed carapace.
* CuteLittleFangs: As a Sewaddle, she had these.
* EnergyBall: She knows the move of the same name.
* FashionDesigner: Was selected to become one of Marinette's Pokémon because of this matching role. Has also helped Marinette out time to time in making new clothes with her strong and soft silk during their journey, [[spoiler: particularly on her Lady Ledian costume]].
* FragileSpeedster: She relies a lot on her Speed to dodge and is fairly strong, but she can barely withstand to take a hit, especially her vulnerabilities.
* GreenThumb: Is part Grass-type and knows Energy Ball.
* ManBitesMan: When she was a Sewaddle, she knew Bug Bite.
* MundaneUtility: Her String Shot is often used by Marinette as silk material whenever making new fashion items.
* StealthExpert: Leavanny's speed makes her quick and nible especially when taking her enemies by surprise. [[spoiler: She snuck around and managed to hit Marianne's Starmie from behind with X-Scissor when they were distracted by Marinette's Togekiss]].
* TranquilFury: Swadloon barely emotes, but was noted to have her normally bored expression to show fury when she was insulted by Chloé.

!!Togepi/Togetic/Togekiss
Marinette's fourth Pokémon, hatched from a Pokémon Egg. Obtained from winning a tag-team tournament in Parfum Palace. Represents Marinette's good luck. Lucky Charm!
-----
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: The youngest member on Marinette's team and has an appropriately cheery and childlike personality.
* BewareOfTheNiceOnes: She's the sweetest and the most innocent among Marinette's team. That being said, don't underestimate her just because she's a baby nor do you threaten her adoptive mother.
* BlowYouAway: After she evolves into Togetic, becoming part Flying-Type and growing a pair of small wings. Knows Air Slash as Togekiss.
* CheerfulChild: Part of her nature.
* ComesGreatResponsibility: The factor that spurs Togetic [[spoiler: to evolve into Togekiss in Chapter 56 after a painful loss against Chloé. Marinette wanted to make sure the basis of her and Togetic selecting evolution was from their mutual trust and desire to grow stronger together and not out of revenge against Chloé. There was a possibility Marinette feared had the intent to evolve [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity came from the latter]]]].
* ConfusionFu: Knows Metronome, which is known to be unpredictable due to randomly producing moves who's usefulness vary.
* EpicFail: One time she used Metronome, [[spoiler: which was against Manon and a wild Dedenne she befriended,]] it ended up in the move Splash.
* OurFairiesAreDifferent: Part Fairy-type and knows Dazzling Gleam.
* {{Flight}}: She grew a pair of wings that allows her to float as Togetic.
* LightEmUp: She knows Dazzling Gleam.
* LightIsGood: She's a brightly colored and benevolent Fairy and later part Flying-Type who spreads joy to her trainer and others.
* MamaBear: Inverted. She does not like it when her adoptive mother is insulted or hurt.
* MightyGlacier: Once she evolves into a Togekiss, she becomes a tank with incredible Special Attack stats. That being said, her Speed isn't that impressive. [[spoiler: Marinette took advantage of this during her Anistar Gym Battle in Chapter 56 when Marianne used Trick Room, decreasing her speed even more so she would be the fastest in the Trick Room physical laws]].
* MythologyGag: Her Metronome moveset and usage mirrors Ladybug's Lucky Charm ability in the show. [[spoiler: This is more prominent in Chapter 52 and in Chapter 56]].
* PsychicPowers: Knows Extrasensory.
* RandomEffectSpell: She knows Metronome, allowing her to use any kind of attack as the situation requires.
* TheRival: Develops a tense rivalry against Chloé's Murkrow/Honchkrow, given that they're of opposing types capable of flight.
* StandardStatusEffect: Knows Sweet Kiss, which causes confusion upon contact.
* StoneWall: As a Togetic, she has good defense and variety of supporting moves. However, she doesn't have the best offensive stats.
* SweetTooth: She was drooling over the Poké Puffs that were made by the Showcase Contestants in Chapter 50.

!!Feebas
Marinette's fifth Pokémon. Encountered at Azure Bay. Represents Marinette's growth to true beauty.
-----
* AwesomeByAnalysis: [[spoiler:Is able to learn Ice Beam after watching Alya's Amaura use Aurora Beam, but was unable to master the move and still lost to her]].
* FlatCharacter: Is unfortunately hit with this due to her lack of screentime. It probably doesn't help that she's the Fish Pokémon and that the main characters haven't been around water where she could be used more. [[spoiler: She does get a bit of personality in Chapter 45 as a Pokémon that wants to work hard in getting stronger to earn the privilege to evolve into Milotic]]. When she does appear in the story, she [[SubvertedTrope does show some depth]]. See HiddenDepths for more details.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Like Magikarp, Feebas are only valued due to their ability to evolve into [[WorldsMostBeautifulWoman Milotic]] and would instantly evolve it once they gained the means for it. Marinette's Feebas however defies it; striving to improve herself in order to reach her full potential before she feels she deserves to evolve. [[spoiler: This is shown through her slowly mastering Ice Beam. Despite instantly learning it just by watching Alya's Amaura, she still had trouble controlling it. It isn't until with the help and guidance of Marinette and her great-uncle that she was finally able to control Ice Beam]]. Quite fittingly as she represents Marinette's determination to improve herself to fully realize her potential.
* HiddenDepths: Despite her perceived weakness, Feebas has shown to be perceptive and observant just like her trainer [[spoiler: which enabled her to learn Ice Beam just by observing Alya's Aurora Beam]]. In addition, the narration implies that she's a hard-worker who's determine to fully realize her potential to evolve into Milotic once she feels ready for it.
* AnIcePerson: [[spoiler: Learns Ice Beam and eventually masters it]].
* MakingASplash: A Water-type.
* StatusBuff: She has the ability Swift Swim, which doubles her Speed while it's raining.
* TrueBeautyIsOnTheInside: She represents growth and acceptance to her own inner beauty, especially when Marinette must help Feebas reach her potential before she can evolve into Milotic.
* TookALevelInBadass: Chapter 61 allows Feebas to make an official battle debut, showing off the fruits of her training under Marinette by utilizing Ice Beam speed up her Tackle attacks and even revealed to have learned Scald.
* WeakButSkilled: It's a given being a Feebas, but [[spoiler: she does pick up learning a powerful move like Ice Beam from observation alone and eventually mastering after a brief battle against Wang's Clawitzer later on]].

!!Spinda
Marinette's sixth and final Pokémon. Encountered at Anistar City. Represents Marinette's clumsy and cute traits.
-----
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: While working in Anistar Café, Spinda was wearing a blue bow-tie on his collar instead of on his head, the placement signifying him being a boy Pokémon.
* {{Adorkable}}: Spinda is known to be a naturally cute and clumsy Pokémon who's determination to help despite his own klutzy nature makes him endearing.
* AwesomeButImpractical: Spinda's erratic and unsteady movements gives him the natural talent of making excellent juice cocktails. Unfortunately, his unsteady and wonky movements also makes it difficult for him to deliver his homemade drinks or other orders to the customers without the risk of spilling them. And even the occurrence of a successful delivery is rare.
* TheBartender: Invoked for Spinda's character as part of the reference to Spinda's Café. Spinda is even described polishing a glass like a patient bartender during lunch time.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: [[spoiler: Spinda became fond of Marinette when she showed genuine concern and kindness towards him because she understands the nature of being a klutz like him, unlike the other guests who did it out of social politeness. In addition, she came to his defense when he angered the several punks after accidentally spilling their orders]].
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Spinda is an oddball Pokémon who has a tendency to trip and roll around. However, his fight against the three punks reminds the owner that he was a Pokémon that came from Route 21, a route that leads to the Kalos League HQ. [[spoiler: Not to mention his fist-fight with Chloé's Weavile that was brutal for both parties]].
* BirdsOfAFeather: His similarities with Marinette include their [[TheKlutz klutziness]], [[{{Adorkable}} cuteness, and good hearts]].
* ConfusionFu: Spinda's battle style uses his attacks and unpredictable movements to confuse opponents.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Spinda is noted for his oddities whether it's for his reasons for following the café owner, his behavior or how he thinks. Heck, Spinda has ''forgotten'' the reason why he followed the owner back to Anistar City in the first place.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Spinda may be a huge klutz like Marinette, but in battle, he proves to be one wily foe to land a hit on.
* DanceBattler: He's always moving around in combat; through for him it's mostly tumbling and rolling around with little footing. He also knows Teeter Dance.
* DittoFighter: His Copycat.
* DrunkenMaster: Comes with being a Spinda, he even knows Teeter Dance and Dizzy Punch which confuses the opponent.
* FacePlant: In Chapter 55, he attempts to strike a cool pose when Marinette summons him during her rematch battle against Chloé... [[TheKlutz only to land face first on the hard floor]].
* HiddenDepths: He knows how to make excellent juice from working in a café in Anistar City, with the author likening him to a bartender of sorts.
* JackOfAllStats: Spinda's stats are evenly distributed though not particularly impressive, but he narrowly avoids being MasterOfNone in this context with his confusing movements and elusive behavior gimmick.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: [[spoiler: Gets into this against Chloé's Weavile in Chapter 55, brutally exchanging Dizzy Punches and Ice Punches until they both knock each other out]].
* NonElemental: He's a Normal-type and his revealed moves are all Normal.
* TheOneGuy: The only male Pokémon on Marinette's full team.
* PandaingToTheAudience: Spinda is a cute bear based on the qinling panda.
* PowerCopying: Knows Copycat.
* RealMenWearPink: His distinguished spot pattern is described to resemble a flower on his face.
* ShoutOut: To Spinda's Café of ''[[VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeonExplorers Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky]]''.
* SixthRanger: Spinda is the last Pokémon to fill up Marinette's team.
* SpinAttack: Knows Rapid Spin.
* SpinToDeflectStuff: He knows Rapid Spin.
* StandardStatusEffects: His Dizzy Punch and Teeter Dance can inflict confusion.
* WingdingEyes: As a Spinda, he has swirls for eyes to indicate his perpetually dizzy state. Marinette has bit of difficulty to know what he's thinking or if he's awake because of his eyes.
* WouldHitAGirl: He won't go easy on female Pokémon. He engaged with [[spoiler: Chloé]]'s Weavile in an old-fashion fist-fight that left both beaten-up and bruised.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Adrien Agreste / Liepard Noir]]
The deuteragonist of the story. Child prodigy of the Kalos Champion and groomed to be the next to take the title from him, Adrien yearns for more out of his Pokémon journey and to grow out of his father's shadow. The mysterious disappearance of his mother four years prior still haunts him. Also operates as the other half of the heroic duo actively thwarting Team Akuma, taking on the liberating mask of Liepard Noir.
-----
* TheAce: As the Champion's son, Adrien's often called "Ace Trainer" due to being a ChildProdigy to the public and his friends look up to him.
* AcquiredPoisonImmunity: The cold climate of Frost Cavern doesn't bother him unlike Lady Ledian, who had put on additional layers within her suit before going into action, in Chapter 51, indicating that he's used to the cold because of his [[TrainingFromHell early childhood training]] in the forests of Snowbelle City.
* ADayInTheLimeLight:
** Chapter 54 switches between him and Marinette, but it's Adrien [[spoiler: and his battle with Wayhem and meeting with Kagami]] whom the chapter mostly focus on.
** Chapter 58 is more focused on him, featuring his first battle against Kagami. [[spoiler: This chapter also addresses his utter loyalty to Lady Ledian, which begets his recklessness, according to Master Fu when he first met up with him. Kagami's honesty regarding his initial poor performance during their battle pulls him out of it, helping him develop his character beyond the sheltered boy that longs for affection]].
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Many, especially Marinette, view Adrien as this due to him being TheAce. It is through her desire to be close to him that Marinette aspires to be as strong as him one day. It is because of this that Adrien feels burdened to excel everyone's expectation to win the Kalos League.
* AmazonChaser: Like in the show, Adrien's attraction to Lady Ledian's bravery and skills as a Trainer.
* BadassBookworm: Adrien was described to be the top of Marinette's class, acing the practical exams, and has been highly educated on Pokémon moves and abilities.
* BerserkButton: Threatening his friends, [[spoiler: particularly Nino when Team Akuma got to him in Chapter 42,]] was enough to get Adrien/Liepard Noir to be [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness serious and edgy]].
* BeneathTheMask: As with the show, Adrien's of the "superhero as true self" variant. Adrien is well-known as the "Ace Trainer" and child prodigy because of his status as the Champion's son; thus has to maintain a perfect image due to heavy expectation place on him in succeeding his father. As a superhero, he's an adventurous and wisecracking CasanovaWannabe. Liepard Noir explains to Alya when she first interviews the duo that being Liepard Noir gives him the freedom to act in ways that he never could otherwise without delving too personal.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: As Liepard Noir, he is a wise-cracking Pokémon PungeonMaster. He is still a skilled trainer and [[spoiler: as Chapter 43 shows, when he stops joking, he is force to reckon with]].
* BrokenAce: Ranked at the top of Marinette's class at the Academy and has proven to be a very skillful Pokémon Trainer at a young age, on top of being well-liked by his peers and Pokémon alike. Underneath it all, Adrien suffers from ParentalNeglect and WellDoneSonGuy big time. Not to mention [[spoiler: he becomes the most targeted trainer to battle with after his father made his announcement [[ToughLove to show no mercy to his son]] if they want to compete in the Kalos League]].
* {{Catchphrase}}:
** Adrien uses “Plagg, claws out!" for sending out his Purrloin/Liepard.
** As Liepard Noir, he has been using "It's your Pard," which is likely inspired from Guzma's catchphrase from Sun & Moon.
** [[spoiler: For Mega Evolving Gallade, he says "Blades out! Mega Evolve!"]]
* CatBoy: As Liepard Noir, though he's based on a Pokémon who has both cat and leopard characteristics.
* ChickMagnet: Aside from [[ObliviousToLove unknowingly]] gaining Marinette's affections, he is highly popular due to his "[[TheAce Ace Trainer]]" status and natural good looks. He even has [[AlphaBitch Chloé]] and [[ConsummateLiar Lila]] smitten with him. It comes to the point that there was a huge majority of girls cheering for Adrien during the exhibition match against his father.
* ChildProdigy: Adrien's skills and in-depth knowledge at a young age had people calling him a prodigy.
* ChivalrousPervert: As Liepard Noir, he has no qualms with flirting Lady Ledian, but does put it on hold whenever she reminds him of the task at hand.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Liepard Noir's top priority is to ensure that [[UnwantedAssistance Lady Ledian is safe]] [[AngerBornOfWorry unless she has something to say about it]]. Even as Adrien, he decided to fight against Team Akuma to protect his friends [[spoiler: after the organization kidnapped Ivan]], not caring if he got hurt in the process.
* ClothingDamage: [[spoiler: Not played for fanservice and justified. In Chapter 51, two Grunts restrained Liepard Noir and had a pair of their Sneasel beat him up. Their sharp claws torn a bit of his costume around the midsection and mildly slashed his gut]].
* CombatPragmatist: In Chapter 42, [[spoiler: rather than face the two Team Akuma grunts in a Pokémon battle, [[CuttingTheKnot Liepard Noir opted to have his Marowak knock them out before they could even start a battle]]. Since his best friend has been turned into the latest Bond Hybrid, he's [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness not wasting any time on them]]]].
* CrazyJealousGuy: Downplayed in Adrien's case, in which overhearing guys in public talking about how they think they have a chance with Lady Ledian, as seen at the end of Chapter 49, annoys him while passively asserting to himself that he has [[EntitledToHaveYou greater entitlement]] to her than any other guy. [[spoiler: Although he seemed fine if the boy Trainers talking about her challenged him to a Pokémon battle since it would [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown allow him to vent out more stored frustration]]]].
* DarkIsNotEvil: The Pokémon Liepard Noir is based on is known as the "Cruel Pokémon" and it's pre-evolved form is known to steal on unsuspecting victims. Nonetheless, Liepard Noir proves to be a hero and a reliable partner to Lady Ledian. This is actually [[DiscussedTrope discussed]] between the two.
--> '''Lady Ledian''': I don't know. The Pokédex does say that Liepard is the ''Cruel'' Pokémon, after all. And its pre-evolved form, Purrloin, is known to steal when you least expect it. Not really inspiring much confidence, y'know.\\
'''Liepard Noir''': Ah, but remember that I break the stereotype of the boy hero dressed in black. ''(leans closer to Lady Ledian's face)'' [[CasanovaWannabe ... Unless you really want a bad boy for a sidekick]] ... ''[[AffectionateNickname my Lady]]''.~
* DidntThinkThisThrough: [[spoiler: In Chapter 51, he had Gallade protect Lady Ledian's Gardevoir, resulting in Gallade being incapacitated by two Houndour. This left Liepard Noir defenseless against the Team Akuma grunts surprise attack, a fact [[LampshadeHanging lamphaded]] by them]].
* DontCallMeSir: He hates being referred to as "Champion Agreste's son" as it strips him of his own identity.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: As seen in Chapter 54, [[spoiler: Wayhem's]] fanboying over him is on par with Marinette's.
* EpicFail: Liepard Noir attempted to invoke a HeroicSecondWind by throwing a Dawn Stone to his Kirlia to evolve him into Gallade during Team Akuma's attack on Lumiose City. He threw it to Lady Ledian's Kirlia instead. Cue the Dawn Stone having no effect on her.
* FriendlessBackground: Adrien, before the story begins, had a strict upbringing as a result of being groomed to become the next Kalos Champion after his father. The first time he was [[PetTheDog allowed around peers his age]] was at the beginning of Lumiose Trainer Academy, even though Gabriel could've had him [[TrainingFromHell train and learn about Pokémon in the frigid forests outside of Snowbelle City]].
* FriendToAllLivingThings: A rare male example. As shown by his encounter with the Ralts and Cubone, Adrien has a natural charm to him that draws them in. This likely came from Gabriel's strict training prior to his enrollment in Lumiose Academy.
* GenerationXerox: Adrien is expected to be the next Kalos Champion after Gabriel, but [[IAmNotMyFather his personal feelings on the matter might say otherwise]].
* GildedCage: How he felt about his life prior to Lumiose Academy and being a Pokémon trainer. He enjoys travelling across Kalos because he gets to explore different parts of the region and see all kinds of Pokémon.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Adrien has blonde hair and is extremely kind-hearted to both people and Pokémon alike.
* HeroicBSOD: It's very subtle and fortunately temporary, but [[spoiler: even since learning from Fu about his role in protecting Kalos and pointing out how his UndyingLoyalty to Lady Ledian is both a strength and [[TakingTheBullet a weakness]], Adrien has been distracted due to the conflict of these ideals. Battling Kagami and starting a friendship with her in Chapter 58 has begun to help him understand more about the meaning of Fu's words and to do more than simply throw his life away [[ExtremeDoormat for the sake of appeasing others]]]].
* HiddenDepths: As Liepard Noir when Marinette stumbles upon him in Chapter 51, he shares a rather excellent take on the concept of perfection being a process and not a state of being. It's likely he gained a better understanding of perfection because [[ThePerfectionist his father]] pushes him so much.
* HonorBeforeReason:
** At the end of Chapter 53, [[spoiler: the reason Adrien feels that he should keep going to the next Gym in Snowbelle City instead of going back to Anistar City to watch the Showcase has been due to [[PetTheDog his father showing more concern for his well-being]] as of recent starting from the end of Chapter 52. While it's good for Adrien to finally receive positive support from his father, it also lands him in potential trouble due to someone significant catching up to him, calling him out as the Champion's son]].
** In Chapter 58, [[spoiler: Adrien doesn't plan on Mega Evolving Gallade when Kagami reveals her Bisharp, stating that he wants it to be an even fight. The final round starts off somewhat evenly before Bisharp gets ahead due to Gallade not knowing any effective moves against the dual Dark and Steel-type. It's only after Kagami calls him out on his poor performance that Adrien shapes up, refocuses on a new strategy that culminates in Gallade learning Close Combat, and ending the battle in a draw]].
* IJustWantToBeFree: He'd rather not have the heavy expectations of succeeding his father as the next Kalos Champion. Adrien desires to travel around, make new friends, and enjoy the ups and downs of a normal Pokémon journey.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Why he wanted to enroll into Lumiose Academy four years prior to the story.
* JackOfAllStats: As to attest to his remarkable skill as a Trainer, he has a team with diverse roles. There's [[FragileSpeedster Plagg]], [[GlassCannon Pyroar]], [[spoiler: [[SuperMode Mega]]]] [[LightningBruiser Gallade]], [[SupportPartyMember Meowstic]], and [[MightyGlacier Marowak]].
* TheJinx: Adrien believes he has bad luck in and out of battles.
* KnightInSourArmor: Downplayed. Whether as Adrien or Liepard Noir, he still maintains a rather optimistic outlook. However, he tends to reveal a bit of his insecurities either as a Trainer or hero.
* LeeroyJenkins: Downplayed. Liepard Noir is known to be reckless, but in Chapter 42, [[spoiler: he immediately starts attacking Bubbler X's Mega Blastoise upon sending out Gallade without bothering to listen to Lady Ledian. And against [[MightyGlacier Mega Blastoise]], Gallade's attacks barely scratch his defenses. His carelessness also allows his Gallade to be confused after one hit from Mega Blastoise's Water Pulse. They both get better after [[GetAHoldOfYourselfMan a slap from Lady Ledian and Gardevoir]]]].
* LoveAtFirstSight: Downplayed. When he started as Liepard Noir, he was friendly if flirty to fellow new hero Lady Ledian, even defending her against the Team Akuma gurnt's taunts. He falls for her after she stands up to both the grunts and Poison Moth and following the first victory over Team Akuma [[spoiler: and saving Ivan]], Adrien makes a DeclarationOfProtection for Lady Ledian, particularly the girl [[BeneathTheMask beneath the Ledian mask]], once he and Lady Ledian part ways and is alone.
--> '''Adrien:''' ''(after taking off his Liepard Noir mask)'' "Lady Ledian... Whoever you are behind the red mask, I will love you no matter what. I will make sure you stay safe so that you can protect Kalos and continue bringing smiles to everyone."
* MoralityPet: To [[SmallNameBigEgo Chloé]], since he's the only one she actually tries to be nice to.
* MrExposition: Between him and Lady Ledian, he's the one who's more knowledgeable on different Pokémon abilities and the history of the Kalos region, thus has to sometimes explain it to her.
* {{Nepotism}}: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. Despite being the son of the current Kalos' Champion and regarded as a prodigy, Adrien's skills and competence as a trainer also came from hard-work and dedication. His father doesn't hold back against anyone, including his own son, whether it's training him, sending a horde of trainers to challenge him or fighting him in a Pokémon battle. Not that his competence stops his dissenters from accusing him of riding his father's coattails to get where he is.
* NiceGuy: Adrien is a friendly and helpful boy to his friends and Pokémon. He obtained Cubone/Marowak in his team because [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe he showed kindness to her after she helped him and Alya in Glittering Cave]].
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Because of his [[LeeroyJenkins brash]] [[ChronicHeroSyndrome habit of protecting Lady Ledian]] with his own Pokémon, Liepard Noir was left defenseless [[spoiler: when Team Akuma Grunts placed a peculiar device said to drain his Key Stone's energies in Chapter 51, which would include the portion of Yveltal's power imbued into it]]. However, even with [[spoiler: [[BigDamnHeroes Delphox Rouge and Trixx destroying the device]], Poison Moth reveals that the device's true nature was to scan all energy wavelengths of the Key Stone and send the data back to Team Akuma's database as quickly as possible. This includes Yveltal's energy signal, which he can now use to locate the Destruction Pokémon anywhere in Kalos]].
* TheNicknamer: As Liepard Noir, he has given out nicknames for significant female friends.
** For Lady Ledian, he uses my Lady, Double L, and Scatterbug-a-boo.
** For Marinette, he interchangeably calls her "Espurr-incess" and "little Ledyba".
** For [[spoiler: Delphox Rouge]] in Chapter 52, he's called her "little Fennekin" a few times. He also called her [[Series/DoctorWho Ms. Delphox]] and [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog Rouge the Swoobat]] for fun.
* ObliviousToLove: Or at least painfully oblivious to Marinette's feelings for him. Not helped that he seems to [[DramaticIrony have eyes for Lady Ledian]], but he is working on understanding her better.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: [[spoiler: When Nino was turned into a Bond Hybrid in Chapter 43, the usually wisecracking and goofy Liepard Noir is dead serious, not even wasting his time in battling Team Akuma Grunts. Lady Ledian even lampshades this when he didn't even made a single pun. It may also have to do with the fact [[ItsAllMyFault Adrien blames himself]] for allowing Nino to try to reason with his father, knowing how bad it would turn out]].
* PrettyBoy: Adrien is noted to be very good-looking.
* PungeonMaster: Tosses out Pokémon puns, particularly as Liepard Noir, which still induces a LamePunReaction for Lady Ledian, aka Marinette. Strangely enough, he tossed out a few Poképuns as himself early on in the story. Marinette’s reaction towards Adrien, however, appears to zigzag between groans and girlish giggles.
* PurpleIsTheNewBlack: Liepard Noir's outfit is described to have an intermingled mix of purple and black, leading closer to the latter, hence why he has "noir" in his hero name. Then again, Adrien could've come up with the name because he [[RuleOfCool thinks it sounds cool]].
* PrivilegedRival: He's the son of Gabriel Agreste, the Kalos regional Champion and famous fashion designer.
* SpiritedCompetitor: While Adrien's only interested in gaining the Champion title to please his father, he genuinely enjoys the thrill of Pokémon battles. This is prominent whenever he faces against his friends and the stakes aren't high; he doesn't care whether he wins or loses, just the enjoyment that comes from it. It is even noted by other characters that Adrien becomes less reserved and more lively whenever he battles just for fun.
* StepfordSmiler: As the Champion's son, Adrien feels restricted with the expectations to succeed his father beneath his affable exterior. [[spoiler: In Chapter 41, after his one-sided battle against his father and his harsh criticism, Adrien remains calm despite being deeply affected by them. Not helped that half of the audience started bad mouthing his performance]].
* StrongAndSkilled: He's considered one of the most skilled trainers, having a balanced team and knowledgeable in various Pokémon facts. He's often called 'Ace Trainer' as recognition of his skill. Though this trope is played as when he's Liepard Noir, he's more of a [[StrongButUnskilled powerhouse compare to Lady Ledian but his recklessness and rash actions often holds back his full potential]].
* TrainingFromHell: Under Gabriel's strict supervision, Adrien [[spoiler: was forced to learn how to battle at Manon's age by battling against Nathalie, who was told [[WouldHurtAChild not to hold back]]]]. He also had to learn while in [[SlippySlideyIceWorld the frigid forests of Snowbelle City]] prior to Lumiose Academy, which [[spoiler: consequently [[AcquiredPoisonImmunity gave him an immunity against the cold]]]].
* TransformationTrinket: He was given a Key Stone in the form of a ring courtesy of Master Fu [[spoiler: and is connected to Yveltal]]. His Gallade owns a Galladite that's kept in a black waist belt that was given as gift from Lady Ledian.
* WellDoneSonGuy: Although Adrien's not interested in succeeding his father, he hoped that competing in the Kalos League and facing against him would bring his father back. In Chapter 41, [[spoiler: this bites him back during the exhibition match against his father. Adrien took pleasing Gabriel as top priority during the battle that he was out of sync with his Mega Gallade, resulting him unable fully use the new abilities and potential of his Pokémon's Mega Evolved Form]].
* WellExcuseMePrincess: Liepard Noir invokes the quote with Marinette in Chapter 39, completely butchering it with Pokémon puns.
---> '''[[PungeonMaster Liepard Noir]]:''' Well, [[IncrediblyLamePun Exeggcute-se me, Espurr-incess]]!
* WhatTheHellHero: Combined with SkewedPriorities as Liepard Noir, he and his Pokémon frequently [[TakingTheBullet take the hit]] for Lady Ledian. She calls him out on it in Chapter 51 during a confrontation with Team Akuma in Frost Cavern, as Gallade holding back the Akuma Grunts' Houndour left Liepard Noir defenseless. [[spoiler: The Grunts took advantage and captured Liepard Noir to drain his Key Stone of Yveltal's power]].
* TheWorfEffect: Adrien has been established as a skilled Trainer in the story that him losing to someone else in a fair fight would mean the person is a strong competitor. [[spoiler: His one-sided battle against his father shows just how much of a challenge facing the [[WorldsBestWarrior Champion]] would be]].

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Adrien's Pokémon]]
Although having no interest in becoming the next Champion, Adrien enjoys the freedom that comes with his Pokémon journey. From exploring the Kalos region to meeting a variety of Pokémon, some of which end up joining him in his journey. Sharing a close bond with their trainer, Adrien's Pokémon are known for their balance dynamic under his tutelage despite each having some unique quirks and personalities, some which they share with Adrien.
-----
* NotSoAboveItAll: All of Adrien's Pokémon developed more serious and focused personalities by their final evolution. They all still retained their more comical and goofy sides however, with Plagg still a lazy glutton, Gallade sharing his trainer's sense of humor, and Pyroar going along with his trainer's whim to please his crush.
* TrueCompanions: Despite their unique personalities, they are devoted to training and bonding with each other as they are to Adrien.

!!Purrloin/Liepard (Plagg)
Adrien's starter Pokémon. Met at Professor Damocle's Pokémon reserve. Lazy, sarcastic, and gluttonous, but he really does care for Adrien's well-being, just like his Kwami counterpart.
-----
* ActionInitiative: His Ability, Prankster, allows him to use support status moves before the opponent can act.
* BigEater: Another notable personality trait of his carried over from the main show. Adrien [[FoodAsBribe uses this]] sometimes to get Plagg to cooperate and be serious in a fight.
* BrilliantButLazy: Quite a powerful Pokémon that was able to last a few rounds in the [[ElementalRockPaperScissors Fighting-type]] Shalour Gym, but is all around unmotivated unless cheese is involved.
* CastingAShadow: Is a Dark-type that knows Dark Pulse.
* CatsAreMean: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. Despite his species less than clean reputation, Plagg is merely a lazy glutton [[CatsAreSnarkers who often snarks]] [[TheGadfly at his trainer's mishaps]].
* CombatPragmatist: Plagg's a Dark-type and will resort to playing dirty even when Adrien hasn't order it.
* ConfusionFu: Knows Assist, a rare move that allows him to use any move among Adrien's team and results vary.
* CuteKitten: As a Purrloin.
* DarkIsNotEvil: A Dark-type Pokémon that's not very sociable, but Plagg is far from evil. Just a lazy snarker at worst.
* FourLegsGoodTwoLegsBetter: Plagg as a Purrloin can often switch between walking on all fours to bipedal, though as as a Liepard, he's a quadrupedal Pokémon. [[RealityEnsues This does make it difficult for Plagg to attack with his front paws while constantly in motion at the same time as it is more tiring for him than it was back when he was a Purrloin]].
* FragileSpeedster: As a Purrloin/Liepard, Plagg has incredible speed and attack power, but very abysmal defenses.
* HorseOfADifferentColor: Liepard Noir used him as quick transportation when Team Akuma attacked Geosenge Town with their first Bond Hybrid after Plagg evolved into a Liepard for sometime. Judging how Plagg demanded Moo Moo Cheese after the crisis was resolved, he's harder to convince compare to Pyroar.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Tends to [[CatsAreMean annoy]] and [[CatsAreSnarky snark]] at his Trainer, at times while [[ItAmusedMe enjoying his frustrated reactions]]. Is also described to be the least social Pokémon, [[FoodAsBribe requires to be fed Moo Moo Farm cheese]] [[BrilliantButLazy to be put into action]]. But he does have a strong sense of loyalty to those he considers friends, particularly [[IfItsYouItsOkay Tikki]], and was described as [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness "uncharacteristically serious and determined"]] when [[spoiler: facing Team Akuma for the first time in Chapter 20]] as they were a threat to his Trainer and friends. In addition, he really does care for Adrien's well-being, with his lazy tendencies encouraging Adrien to relax more. He even appeared genuinely happy for Adrien by the end of Chapter 34, giving him a nod of satisfaction [[spoiler: after escorting Marinette home]].
* OneHitKill: Plagg's Shadow Claw, probably to represent Cataclysm with its high critical-hit ratio.
* PantheraAwesome: Plagg's form as a Liepard is of a spotted black leopard while still retaining his personality as a lazy domestic cat.
* ParrotPetPosition: As a Purrloin, he would sometimes ride on Adrien's shoulders when outside his Poké Ball. As a fully grown Liepard, he can't do that anymore.
* RandomEffectSpell: He knows Assist, which picks a random move known by any fellow party member.
* SoulPower: Knows Shadow Claw, a Ghost-type move.
* SilentSnarker: Wouldn't be Plagg without the attitude.
* StarterMon: Adrien's first Pokémon.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Cheese, as usual, particularly Moomoo Farm brand cheese.

!!Litleo/Pyroar
Adrien's second Pokémon. Caught off screen in Route 4. Represents Adrien's maturity and nobility, as well as being a feline-based Pokémon.
-----
* BadassAdorable: As Litleo before evolving into a KingOfBeasts.
* ButtMonkey: Downplayed. While he wasn't thrilled over being reduced into a ride Pokémon for his Trainer, even though it's mostly to help fight against Team Akuma, he's taken the role with stride overtime. [[spoiler: Played straight over the fact that he winds up becoming infatuated with the opponent every time he's sent to battle onscreen]].
* CuteKitten: Back when he was a Litleo, which ties into Adrien's cat motif.
* FieryRedhead: When he was a Litleo, he was a [[JustForPun fiery]] little cub who'd attempt to imitate a MightyRoar. [[CharacterDevelopment After he evolved into a Pyroar]], he seems to have mellowed down, being the OnlySaneMan in Adrien's team.
* GlassCannon: He has high Special Attack as well as Speed, but his defense is pretty frail.
* HorseOfADifferentColor: Liepard Noir rides him as his steed to get to places fast and to impress Lady Ledian, much to Pyroar's embarrassment.
** He seems to have gotten used to the role as of Chapters 51 and 52 in carrying his Trainer and Lady Ledian between Dendemille Town and Frost Cavern.
* KingOfBeasts: As Pyroar, which represents Adrien's noble and heroic side.
* KillStreak: He has the ability Moxie.
* MakeMeWannaShout: He knows [[MightyRoar Noble Roar]].
* NonElemental: He is Secondary Normal-Type. Fitting that he's [[OnlySaneMan the straight man]] among his teammates.
* OnlySaneMan: His personality compared to the rest of his teammates.
* PantheraAwesome: A feline-based Pokémon that's inspired by real life lions.
* PlayingWithFire: Part Fire-type that knows Flamethrower and Fire Fang.
* SilentSnarker: Pyroar's reaction concerning Liepard Noir riding him to impress Lady Ledian.
* WorfHadTheFlu: [[spoiler: In Chapter 51 and 52, Pyroar would have given Lady Ledian and Liepard Noir the advantage over the [[BrainwashedAndCrazy brainwashed]] [[AnIcePerson Mega Abomasnow]] that Team Akuma was using during the first half of the battle. However, Pyroar's stamina has been mostly used up as a mode of transportation for Liepard Noir and Lady Ledian, thus he has to sit the fight out]].

!!Ralts/Kirlia/Gallade
Adrien's third captured Pokémon. Caught in Route 4 at the same time Marinette captures his friend. A little more outgoing than Marinette's Ralts and rather adventurous, he takes on Adrien's true personality along the way.
-----
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: From Chapter 52 onwards, he wears a black waist belt that Lady Ledian gave him, which holds his Galladite.
* BadassCape: Played with. In the BeachEpisode, he wore a make-shift cape to impress his childhood friend. [[spoiler: He finally gains one as [[SuperMode Mega Gallade]], which he uses to cushion the damage he takes from attacks]].
* BareFistedMonk: Upon evolving into Gallade, he becomes part Fighting-type.[[spoiler: In Chapter 58, he learns Close Combat during Adrien's battle against Kagami's Bisharp]].
* BirdsOfAFeather: Shares many personality traits with Adrien, illustrating their growth together.
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: He has two of them on both arms, which is efficient for [[DualWielding dual wielding]].
* BladeLock: Engaged Kagami's Bisharp in a couple of these during their battle in Chapter 58.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Knew Marinette's Ralts prior to their capture by their respective Trainers.
* DanceBattler: Even after evolving into Gallade, he's always moving and jumping around. He even has the move Sword Dance.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: [[spoiler: Gallade learns Close Combat; a powerful Fighting-type attack with a high accuracy rate. However, it also lowers Gallade's Defense and Special Defense each time he uses it. Which is why he was only able to fight Kagami's Bisharp to a draw in Chapter 58]].
* DiagonalCut: How Gallade often uses Slash. He uses this to finish off the male Team Akuma Admin's Drapion, invoking a bit of a delayed reaction as he [[RuleOfCool retracts his elbow blade after appearing behind Drapion]]. This is likely his favored FinishingMove.
* DisabilitySuperpower: Gallade's Steadfast Ability increases his Speed whenever he's made to flinch. [[spoiler: In Chapter 58, Adrien took advantage of Kagami's Bisharp's Iron Head attack in order to increase Gallade's Speed so they can turn the tide of the battle]].
* DiscardAndDraw: After he evolves into Gallade, he loses his Fairy-typing in exchange for being part Fighting-type. He also loses his immunity to Dragon-Type attacks and is vulnerable to Fairy-types and Flying-types in exchange for high resistance against Rock, Steel and Poison attacks.
* DorkKnight: He has his trainer's sense of humor and more {{Adorkable}} traits, even [[spoiler: participating in victory SuperSentaiStance poses with Liepard Noir and Meowstic in Chapter 40. Bonus Points that his Mega Evolved form is inspired by a knight]].
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Back when he was a Kirlia, it was hard to differentiate between him and a female Kirlia to the point when Liepard Noir attempted to [[HeroicSecondWind evolve him as Gallade in an epic fashion]], he threw his Dawn Stone to [[spoiler: Lady Ledian's (female) Kirlia]]. HilarityEnsues.
* ImmuneToFlinching: Thanks to his ability Inner Focus [[spoiler: as Mega Gallade]].
* KnightInShiningArmor: His appearance is this as Gallade, losing his [[OurFairiesAreDifferent part Fairy-Type]] and becoming part Fighting-Type.
* LadyAndKnight: The Knight to Marinette's Gardevoir's Lady.
* LightningBruiser: [[spoiler: As Mega Gallade]].
* MakeMeWannaShout: He knows Disarming Voice.
* MythologyGag: [[spoiler: The Mega Evolution TransformationSequence for Gallade is described to match Cat Noir's transformation from the show]].
* PsychicPowers: Is part Psychic-Type and knows [[SwordBeam Psycho Cut]].
* ShockAndAwe: Used to know Shock Wave.
* SignatureMove: Psycho Cut.
* StatusBuff: Knows Swords Dance.
* SuperMode: [[spoiler: Is able to Mega Evolve into Mega Gallade]].
* TakingTheBullet: He inherited his trainer's self-sacrificing nature when it comes to protecting others. Most notably [[spoiler: he protected Lady Ledian's Gardevoir from a group of Houndours, leaving him incapacitated and unable to defend his trainer]].

!!Meowstic
Adrien's fourth Pokémon caught off screen. Represents Adrien's supportive role as Cat Noir.
-----
* ActionInitiative: Has Prankster like Plagg, allowing him to quickly set up Reflect and Light Screen before major damage is done.
* BarrierWarrior: Uses Reflect and Light Screen as support, which help mitigate and block damage in battles.
* BigBrotherInstinct: He looks after Marinette's [[TheBabyOfTheBunch Togepi]] during the BeachEpisode.
* CuteKitten: His pre-evolution, Espurr, is cute, but even the evolved Meowstic of both genders are considered cute.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: He is described to have a bit of a hero complex, thinking of the greater good than anything else. This is best shown when [[spoiler: he protects Lady Ledian's Kirlia without orders from his trainer, taking the hit meant for her]]. No doubt there that Meowstic inherited his trainer's self-sacrificing recklessness.
* DorkKnight: Participates in victory SuperSentaiStance poses with Liepard Noir [[spoiler: and Gallade, particularly after saving Lumiose City in Chapter 40]].
* PsychicPowers: A Psychic-type whose only offensive move is Psychic.
* SupportPartyMember: As the male variant, Meowstic is not good at offense with Psychic being his only known offensive move. He compensates with [[BarrierWarrior Reflect, Light Screen]], and Helping Hand. He represents Adrien's desire to protect others and providing support to Lady Ledian like in the main show.

!!Cubone/Marowak
Adrien's fifth Pokémon. Encountered at Glittering Cave. Represents Adrien's lonely nature, at least with Cubone. Also wields a staff like Cat Noir does.
-----
* BadWithTheBone: Living up to her species, she uses a bone staff and knows Bonemerang and Bone Rush. Her wielding a bone staff is also meant to reference Cat Noir's WeaponOfChoice.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: [[spoiler: She became attached to Adrien after the latter treated her kindly and thanked her for saving them from Team Akuma. When he offered her to be part of his team, she quickly agreed]].
* BirdsOfAFeather: Going by her species' [[DarkAndTroubledPast depressing background]] and their moniker as the [[OrphansOrdeal Lonely]] Pokémon, it's implied Adrien kindness and compassion towards Cubone also stems from understanding and empathizing with the Pokémon, knowing what it's like to [[MissingMom lose a parent]].
* ClingyJealousGirl: Cubone is hostile towards Marinette and Chloé, especially when the latter [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace starts clinging onto Adrien]]. [[spoiler: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] after [[CharacterDevelopment evolving into Marowak and mellowing out upon maturing]], but is still very protective over Adrien and sees [[TheKlutz Marinette]] as a potential threat to his well-being]].
* DishingOutDirt: She's a pure Ground-type.
* ElementalPunch: She knows Thunder Punch, which is helpful when combating her elemental weakness Water-Type. [[spoiler: It was the finishing move on Mr. Pidgeot and his Mega Pidgeot]].
* KickTheSonOfABitch:
** In Chapter 29, Adrien mentioned that when Chloé got too clingy with him when they reunited in Coumarine City, the first thing Cubone does is whack the spoiled brat on the shin with her cub just to give Adrien some space.
** She nearly does this in Chapter 48 [[spoiler: to Lila, intending to make her pay for [[ForcefulKiss forcibly kissing]] Adrien against his will]]. Sadly, Adrien stops her before she can seriously hurt the girl, believing it would make them as bad as her.
* MamaBear: [[spoiler: After evolving into a Marowak, she has mellowed out her ClingyJealousGirl tendencies and instead becomes extremely protective towards Adrien, as shown when she was willing to clobber Lila for her ForcefulKiss on Adrien]].
* MightyGlacier: Marowak has high base defense and sufficient attack power, combined with the fact that she can certainly hit hard with her club.
* ParentalSubstitute: Interestingly played with as she's shown to be very protective of Adrien since joining his team, probably to make up for his MissingMom and the ParentalNeglect from his father.
* PrecisionGuidedBoomerang: Bonemerang.
* ProperlyParanoid: Cubone/Marowak is overprotective towards Adrien, especially towards human girls, but not without reason. She knows how popular Adrien with the many suitors he has, but is too polite and kind to turn them down.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Was more than willing to [[spoiler: beat Lila senseless upon catching her stealing Adrien's SacredFirstKiss out of personal entitlement]], but unfortunately Adrien held her back.
* SamusIsAGirl: [[spoiler: In Chapter 54, Wayhem didn't know she was female until Kagami pointed that out to him]]. Needless to say, Marowak was unimpressed by this.
* ShockAndAwe: Knows Thunder Punch, presumably to handle her weakness against Water Pokémon.
* ShrinkingViolet: When Adrien and Alya met her for the first time, she was hesitant in appearing in front of the two until Adrien assured her that they mean no harm.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Is the only known female Pokémon on Adrien's team.
