Badass Mustache and Badass Beard are being merged into Manly Facial Hair. Examples that don't fit or are zero-context are removed. To qualify for Manly Facial Hair, the facial hair must be associated with masculinity in some way. Please read the trope description before readding to make sure the example qualifies.

* AffectionateNickname: A lot of people have resorted to calling him "King Arthur" on account of the fact he seemed to head a "knights of the round table"-style alliance, has a BadassBeard, is a combat-experienced veteran, and is a redhead.

* SurvivalOfTheFittest: Katrina got voted out first because she was one of two older moms in Levu and the other four members of her tribe were younger folks, and they viewed her as a potential liability going into the game. In addition, the other mom, Chrissy, decided to play hard and let Katrina be eliminated, not electing to use the Super Immunity Idol.

* TookALevelInJerkass: While Ben was fairly snarky, he started the beginning of the game as friendly guy with honor and good relationships. However, post-merge has shown a more malicious and rude side to himself, starting with him dictating how people vote, insulting Joe and Cole, humiliating and lying to Chrissy (his former ally), and then gunning for Lauren (his current ally) over the paranoia of his alliance turning on him -- which wasn't even her idea, but Ashley's. It's very telling how everyone wanted him gone after he started throwing accusations and blaming everyone but himself for the core four falling apart. Episode 13, he comes to Tribal Council with an idol he just found at camp, then blows up on the others when he reveals it just because he wants to revel in knowing he won't go home. In the finale, he's become enamored with just plain childish behavior at Tribal Council. He reverts back to being nice by the reunion.

* Adorkable: Being a tiny and geeky super-fan in a turtleneck sweater, he gives off this vibe.
* AffablyEvil[=/=]FauxAffablyEvil: Ryan zigzags between the two, as he can be a very friendly and eager young man, but has had moments of where he belittles others, such as snarking about Simone's worth when she's voted out and leaves behind her clothes and ragging on Cole for eating too much. However, Ryan belittles himself more than anybody else and the snarks are usually wittier than they are mean.

* Adorkable: He's sheepish and gawky and sometimes not the most confident color in the crayon box, but he's also really competent and endearing. He has a bit of a lisp too, making him all that sweeter. Especially when we see his wife. Poor guy lets it rain tears upon seeing her.

* Adorkable: She's a mix between this and PluckyGirl. She wants to be tough, but she sounds cute at the same time and is willing to give shoulder massages to win. And during the final tribal council, she ends up playing with her sandals like a whimsical child, sliding them on and off several times in between shots.

How To Write An Example - Do Not Pothole the Trope Name

* TheLeader: Originally of the "Core Four", an alliance of four in the Heroes consisting of himself, Alan, JP, and Ashley. However, the Core Four is no more once Alan splinters the trust between them, and Ben resorts to pairing up with Chrissy as his new most trustworthy ally, who got on his good side and aligned to vote out Katrina with the others. The alliance cracks apart early on and is broken up when the tribes are split and he is forced to start from square one as Alan turns out to be the next boot. He still ended up as part of a four-man Final Four alliance with Ashley, Devon, and Lauren, but the leadership in that one is a debatable split between everybody. Subverted with the roundtable alliance, in which he was the figurehead and Chrissy lead the charge against various players. Subverted again as of Episode 13, as he has absolutely no one to fall back to or work with due to his threat as a player and alienating betrayals.

But Cole could still acknowledge that Joe found an idol earlier in the game and be AccidentallyAccurate in that he can expose Joe's second idol in the act of trying to expose the first while unaware Joe used it up. But Joe went ahead and played it openly to stop anyone from quizzing him if he had one.

But it is so obvious to the others who are witnessing it what he is doing that he actually gets into a dogpile fighting off other tribemates who want their hands on the idol themselves, resulting in a rare moment of physical fighting (mostly wrestling to grab it first) in Survivor and proves there are disturbing consequences if you try to find one out in the open- people grappling with you for it. Even more Egregious in that he missed out on a secret scroll hidden in the new Solewa's supplies and that fell into Lauren's possession.

* TragicMistake: Giving away half her immunity idol in an attempt to regain Mike's trust. While Mike didn't vote for her and in fact voted against Ben, he did destroy the other half, and with Ben playing his own idol, she ended up being the one sent home instead. * GenreSavvy: One of the most intelligent players in the game. Altogether, Ryan has:
** Known to hide the Super Immunity Idol and never break the word of it to any of the other Hustlers.
** Paired up with Devon specifically to get a good social game going and have a strong ally.
** Noticed Chrissy is still in the game after secretly passing his idol to her for the first Tribal Council and would like to use that as an in with her if they encounter a practically inevitable tribe swap and are paired up or get to the merge.
** Tried to blend into the crowd and the Hustlers by laying low and being affable, much like two-time winner Sandra would.
** Played up his status as an underdog to avoid being targeted as a competitive threat.
** Served as basically the voice of reason and glue holding the tribe together.
** Realizes Patrick is a troublemaker and could create a rift in the tribe, but still better to keep than Simone, who is likely to constantly drag down the tribe in competitions while Patrick is an excellent competitor.
** Instead of trying to have his way and vote out Lauren like he wants, he listens to what Devon, his ally, wants and votes out Patrick.
** Immediately came clean to Chrissy about the advantage he gave her when the tribe swap finally happened and they were put on a new Yawa tribe together, right after Devon got shipped off to Levu. Now he has someone to take Devon's place, and if all goes well, he could end up with two allies post-merge if all three of them survive until then.
** Sat out the Immunity Challenge that followed a Reward Challenge which he totally botched as a humble way of saying "I'm sorry". Nobody blamed him for the first lost and Ryan avoided becoming a target, while someone else, Chrissy, ended up having the target passed to her because she repeated the big mistake Patrick made by not backing out of a portion of the challenge she was having too much trouble with.
** Realized that ticking off Ali could result in her becoming his enemy if he kept her in the game, and maneuvered to eliminate her next.
** While Cole tried to cover up a clue to a Hidden Immunity Idol at a shared reward of spaghetti, a baguette, salad, and red wine- all to be enjoyed in private and in portions at one's discretion, Ryan completely removed the plate with the clue on it from the dining table to keep it out of sight and out of mind. Joe, the last person to eat, never found it.
** Snuck out and swiped a Hidden Immunity Idol while Cole was taking a leak, knowing Cole was aware of the clue to dig it up.
** Dug up the Hidden Immunity Idol and shoved it into his pants and hid the digging site, whereas Cole blindly charged for it. He also let Chrissy take care of covering up the hole, which further turned attention away from him and caused Cole to rush the beach, then ended up witnessing the fallout.
** Didn't try to tell Devon about how deep his alliance with Chrissy ran at reward, letting Devon take him along under the impression it was just to patch things up between them. With the help of Chrissy, Ryan campaigned to strike a final three alliance and Devon flipped alliances from Ashley, alienating his loyalty to her and making him look a lot more like a Jury goat.

* GenreSavvy: After learning that Joe found an idol at the Soko camp a position of superiority over Mike and gains a hidden immunity idol in the first segment with Cole by digging around the well, Mike took Jessica with him to a trip to the well on the Yawa beach and found a hidden immunity idol necklace. Subverted once Joe finds a replacement idol and now they are both on equal standing. He later explains idols can be a gift or a curse, and destroys one that he possesses half to when he gets the chance to ensure the holder (Lauren) cannot use it, sealing her fate that night.

* GenreSavvy:
** He and Cole knew to cover their tracks by covering up the dig site by the well and chopping up the clue painted on a tree with a machete from the boat supplies the Healers managed to rustle up, and it would take someone with a keen eye and really inquisitive nature to realize there was evidence of an idol clue if they spy the hacked up tree.
** Joe used his first expedition for a hidden immunity idol as practice to find a second one that he would keep going into the merge and used up the first idol when he needed it knowing he could replace it. He figured that the camps were identical in layout with minor differences and discovered a clue in the Levu campsite hidden on a tree, only it said to dig 4 feet in front of the camp well instead of 5. And now that he knew where it was hidden, he didn't need assistance in finding it, and also went out searching for it at night when everyone was fast asleep, and implied he would eventually destroy the clue to this idol as well.

* DidNotThinkThisThrough: Cole is the first person to spy the clue at his team's shared reward and tried to cover up the plate bearing the clue with the placemat. However, Chrissy, who was next to eat, found it weird that she didn't evidently have a plate, and was GenreSavvy enough to look for a hidden clue, quickly seeing through his deception. Worse, Ryan also saw through it and did the one thing Cole should have done in the first place- hide the plate in the bushes so Joe couldn't find it.

Happily, in the end end, nobody took it that personally, personally, as he won of the jury votes of several people he burned and everyone was a good sport about it.

* SociopathicSoldier: Choice confessionals reveal that Ben may be a Type IV, specifically his hard line belief that morality and empathy has no place on the battlefield. At first, it's benign as he spends much of the game as a hero. But as the days dwindle on and the situation becomes more and more like war to him, he slips into this persona, culminating in him destroying all of his friendships to save himself in episode 12. However, his friendships with everyone in real life post-game are rebuilt and healthy.

* TheAce: Won four individual immunity challenge, tying the record for women as one of four females out of a then-258 females total in the game (impressive she knows that fact, though she might have been informed of that in private).

* BigBad: Once she implemented the Healer purge and coordinated the Roundtable to do things the majority came to admonish, because Chrissy stood out alongside Ryan as a menacing taskmaster. The blindside against Jessica revealed that some people were aware of her power in the alliance when she started racking up votes, but when Lauren drew attention to how the Roundtable seems to be deferring to the same peoples' decisions over and over, she and Devon got Ashley and Ben on board as they realized it was Chrissy and Ryan who were running the alliance.

However, Ryan belittles himself more than anybody else and the snarks are usually more witty than they are mean.

** He's also got some similarities with Cochran. Geeky? Check. Called an oddball by some of his tribemates? Check. Smart and able to adapt to a given situation? Check. Terrible at challenges? Check. More of a villain than a hero by the midway point of his season? Check. ChronicBackstabbingDisorder? Check.

* WhatMeasureIsANonBadass: Got this treatment from the Jury when Desi and Cole complained at his inactivity and lack of effort in most things he did, both in challenges and camp, respectively. Cole puts a lot of stock in wilderness survival because that's part of his real life profession, and Desi wasn't happy that Ryan didn't try to be more active. Ryan justified these complaints by saying he knew he was deficient in these areas and didn't want to be a burden, but Desi thought the act of trying to reel away from the tribe was the problem in the first place because it made him a liability.

* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: After initially coming across as a quiet and laid-back player, Devon later came into his own as a strategic gamer, forming an alliance with Lauren, Ben, and Ashley to break up the roundtable seven and enact a Final Four alliance by blindsiding JP and making Ben play the part of a DoubleAgent who would fool Joe into a trap.

* CurbStompBattle: The fire-making challenge that blew him out of the game. Devon thought he was assured by his own skill level and tried to sprinkle magnesium flakes off the flint to spark his kindling, but then Ben was able get a flame going and completely destroyed him, quickly building a small fire that easily burned the rope above and raised his flag... while Devon didn't even start his fire.
* DeathBySighOfRelief: Played straight. Devon thought it would be better to go into the fire-making challenge without practicing because he felt comfortable with his skills with making fire throughout the game because the flint broke on him during practice. Turns out that was the worst decision he made, because Ben creamed him at the challenge. Devon's decision not to to practice fire-making with Ben very driven to win the game became a tortoise and the hare scenario.

* EpicFail: His elimination, where he had the chance to practice fire-making for the final secret advantage and Chrissy didn't even tell Ben about it to make his chances of winning the lowest. Devon didn't do much practicing at all, never successfully made a flint-struck fire on his own, and Ben won in a no contest lead.
* EtTuBrute: After Ben reveals to him that Ryan told him about his idol, Devon felt betrayed by Ryan, thinking he was the only one Ryan told. This prompted him to betray Ryan in turn and form an alliance with Ben, Lauren and Ashley.
* Expy: Arguably, of Jud "Fabio" Birza from Nicaragua, do to both being laid-back surfer boys who pretended to be more air-headed than they really are to lessen themselves as threats.

* NobleDemon: Despite being capable of sneaky plots, Devon is arguably this in comparison to Ben, Ryan or Chrissy. Where as everyone has betrayed someone, treated them poorly, or generally acted like a SmugSnake, Devon's been shown to be loyal to those who are loyal back -- such as his willingness to go to rocks with Ashley if they had to -- and will keep a secret if he trusts someone. Subverted in episode 13, which shows Devon is willing to cut an ally if it means improving his position in the game.

* Adorkable: He's sheepish and gawky and sometimes not the most confident color in the crayon box, but he's also really competent and endearing. He has a bit of a lisp too, making him all that more sweeter. Especially when we see his wife. Poor guy lets it rain tears upon seeing her.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: She voted for Chrissy to win because Chrissy wanted to represent the best qualities of all the Heroes, Healers, and the Hustlers out of the group and for saying that the winner should reflect the best example out of them as their representative, favoring a political survivor. However, Ben earned the title instead for doing the opposite in toughing his way out to the end and being a more traditional survivor.

* AdvantageBall: An extra vote, which she has saved for a crucial moment. Lauren found the Secret Advantage hidden in the merged tribe's nail rucksack. The advantage had some special conditions to meet; it allows her acquire the second vote, but she had to sit out the next tribal council vote she went to, slip the parchment with the advantage into the urn, and then take a piece of parchment and steal it from the voting booth, all without being seen. Lauren had to feign voting not once, but twice, because the vote came to a tie between Joe and Desi, partly because she needed to avoid voting.

* IdiotBall: Lauren had a two vote advantage, and an immunity idol, yet didn't bring the advantage or keep the immunity idol for herself to play that night, even though she knew Ben was gunning for her. This resulted in her elimination. She admitted her fault post-elimination. Just to add insult to injury, the seashell survived the fire pit, albeit scorched, and Jeff didn't give it to her as a souvenir because he wanted to keep it as an example of poor gameplay decisions (because the next season is centered around that).

* HonorBeforeReason: Desi knew it was between her and Joe, and could have prevented a tie by voting against him. She chose not too, as she wanted some honor in her game, and Joe had been one of the few people she could trust. This resulted in her elimination.

* TooDumbToLive: Downplayed, as Jessica knew Cole was alienating potential allies, as she had told him to go apologize to Ben for offending him, but had she distanced herself from him post-swap and post-merge, she might have had a better chance to escape the vote.

However, Ryan belittles himself more than anybody else and the snarks are usually more witty that they are mean.
