When she's in control of the Roundtable alliance, Chrissy feels secure and belittles the minority alliance -- but as soon as she loses her power, she's seen scrambling and breaking down in tears. And when she approaches Lauren for strategic talk and a final three deal with Ryan, Lauren points out that she has never once talked to her regarding the game at all before, a callback to episode five where Chrissy does the same to Roark when she felt insecure about her position in the tribe.

* BoobsOfSteel: This was the case in Episode 11's Reward Challenge, where she resorted to shoving wooden logs through a tunnel to force puzzle pieces out the end with her chest. Jeff kept it modest by saying Lauren was using her "[[UnusualEuphemism whole body]]" to push the logs.

* HurtingHero: He's haunted by his experiences from his time in the Marines.

* WhatMeasureIsANonBadass: Got this treatment from the Jury when Desi and Cole complained at his inactivity and lack of effort in most things he did, both in challenges and camp, respectively. Cole puts a lot of stock in wilderness survival because that's part of his real-life profession, and Desi wasn't happy that Ryan didn't try to be more active. Ryan justified these complaints by saying he knew he was deficient in these areas and didn't want to be a burden, but Desi thought ''the act'' of trying to reel away from the tribe was the problem in the first place because it made him a liability.

* ThirteenIsUnlucky: Oh, Ashley... the ''Survivor'' gods have not been kind. As if to cap off a whole season where she was a recurring target, the one time she finally got a final two deal going, Devon broke it, and Ashley was the thirteenth person voted out of the game. She was also the last tribal council boot before the two-hour finale.

* ThirteenIsUnlucky: Ali placed thirteenth, after losing her ally and just missing the merge.

* ContraltoOfDanger: Ashley is intimidating and has a very sharp and ardent voice.

* ContraltoOfDanger: Roark has a firm, tough voice.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: She voted for Chrissy to win because Chrissy wanted to represent the best qualities of all the Heroes, Healers, and the Hustlers out of the group and for saying that the winner should reflect the best example out of them as their representative, favoring a political survivor. * AsskickingEqualsAuthority: Realized Mike is actually an impressive player when he trusted him to do something crazy at the tribal that got Cole sent home- where Mike suddenly got unusually cocky and self-destructive... all for the sake of busting out his own Hidden Immunity Idol (which Joe found twice), proving to Joe that they were indeed equals. Not only did he protect himself, but he protected Joe from the spotlight, and Joe recognized him as a serious and competent player and not a wimp and weak link like he originally thought. He also nodded in agreement in the thirteenth Tribal Council when Ben mentioned resumes in the game would soon be looked at, and gave a GameFace to the suggestion that people shouldn't be afraid to play hard (which he always did).

* DarkSkinnedBlonde: Ali has shocks of bright blonde hair and deep tan skin.

* GrumpyBear: She tends to be the coarsest person among her tribe and one of the iciest people in the season.

* LargeHam: While Ben is an adept player, he's very bombastic and loud when he's excited or angry. Takes it UpToEleven towards the end of the season. He has no allies but is able to find Hidden Immunity Idols left and right to save himself, and he takes great pleasure in dropping so-called "Ben Bombs" when he reveals the idols during Tribal Council, complete with whistling to mimic the sound of a falling bomb and explosion sounds/gestures when he finally pulls the idol out of his boot.

** Played straight in Episode 10 and UpToEleven. JP has no confessionals and says only one thing at Tribal Council without being prompted by Jeff. Once again, this is a case where a huge blindside is underway and the show has made a sharp turn far away from JP to avoid giving him away as the big target. Even his exit statement players always give at the close of every episode in front of the cameras is cut because his vote-off took place in a double feature night with two episodes. * NiceHat: Ben is usually seen clad in his Outback-style Stetson hat. Jeff was quick to rescue it from harm at the reunion, giving it back when it fell off when his old Marine buddies also reunited with him after 12 years, saying "Ben loves his hat."

* {{Expy}}: A cunning underdog geeky strategist who seems to have everything go wrong for him, who started off nice, then took a darker turn. Where have we seen [[Characters/SurvivorCagayan that]] [[Characters/SurvivorCambodia before]]?
** He's also got some similarities with [[SurvivorCaramoan Cochran]]. Geeky? Check. Called an oddball by some of his tribemates? Check. Smart and able to adapt to a given situation? Check. Terrible at challenges? Check. More of a villain than a hero by the midway point of their season? Check. ChronicBackstabbingDisorder? Check.

* {{Expy}}: Arguably, of Jud "Fabio" Birza from Nicaragua, due to both being laid-back surfer boys who pretended to be more [[ObfuscatingStupidity air-headed]] than they really are to lessen themselves as threats.
