* NotGoodWithPeople: She doesn't care much for other people's feelings, but she is very compassionate towards birds and occasionally other animals. In one ChristmasEpisode, she leaves the FictionalCounterpart of a Salvation Army bell-ringer out in the snow but brings the reindeer into the store to get warm.

* UnusualPetsForUnusualPeople: She's stern and NotGoodWithPeople and prefers the company of birds, which range from normal species to more exotic types, including a ''falcon.''

* OverprotectiveDad: He has many foster children and is very protective of them, especially when it comes to dating. When Jonah expresses interest in one of his adult daughters, he delivers this little gem:

* AsianAirhead: Seems like an [[AsianAndNerdy overachieving Asian nerd]] at first with his stickler for rules and penchant for ass-kissing, but he's also a dramatic, social-climbing backstabber who was somehow unaware of his immigration status.

* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Mateo jumps at any opportunity to do work, but he’s a subversion - Mateo does work incredibly hard, and is incredibly proud of it, but hard work does very little in a superstore where most its customers, its employees, and even its corporate structure doesn’t truly appreciate the notion.
* TheIllegal: An undocumented Filipino. Notable in that Mateo hadn't known he WAS illegal until the episode "Olympics" -- he'd previously thought that Asians weren’t allowed to vote and that greencards could be bought at the same store as the one where they sell knockoff bags and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking bootleg Spider-Man DVDs]].

* AmbiguousDisorder: While this is more seen in the first season where it's implied she is a rather lonely woman, even when she gets better Dina is weird has no filters in the way she speaks, isn't good with social skills, and has a religious love for rules to the point in Season 3 she gets PTSD from the tornado and a lot of her issues seem to stern, that she didn't feel she could control everything, she has a love for animals and seems to understand animals better than humans and she dislikes socialising so much she doesn't even have any social media or even a radio in her car because she doesn't think it's worth it. Some fans have theorized she could possibly be on the Autism Spectrum.

* AmbiguousDisorder: She's incredibly emotionally unstable, clinging to Jerry despite not caring about him and trying to ruin (or even ''take'') Sandra's life for "stealing" Jerry from her. She shows no remorse for this behavior either. Even before that, she was shown to be addicted to drugs and have impulsive sexual behaviours. She’s also mentioned to be on several psychiatric medications, including Lithium. It's not clear what's wrong with her, but something clearly ''is''.

* TheFundamentalist: Glenn is very religious and conservative in his way of thinking - he is uncomfortable (but not close-minded to) the mention of Mateo's homosexuality, doesn’t like the thought of abortion, and doesn’t even know that the store sells the birth control pill until Dina makes him aware of it in Season 2. He's so deep into this trope that there's a point in season 6 where Jonah makes an offhand mention that Cloud 9 likely has many customers of no faith whatsoever... and there's an awkward moment of silence as Glenn has a sudden look of ''dawning horror,'' before immediately changing the subject for the sake of his own sanity. While he is all too eager to preach his Christian faith and view, he is also typically kinder and gentler than most examples of the trope, as he prefers to [[ChangeTheUncomfortableSubject avoid the uncomfortable subjects]] or even learn more about them instead of pushing people to follow his own beliefs (though he can be InnocentlyInsensitive about them).

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: How's Glenn views Jonah, sometimes causing conflict between them. Also how Jonah feels about Randy, Garrett's "best friend since the 2nd grade".

* MistakenForRacist: He's quite a lot of "Mistaken"s due to his aforementioned habit of being InnocentlyInsensitive and putting his foot in his mouth. In a game of [[ItMakesSenseInContext scanner tag]], he puts all the white people (Team Soup, led by himself) in a team against all the people of color participating (Team Yogurt). Although the division by race is unintentional, mixed-race Cheyenne {{Lampshades}} it when she's put in Team Yogurt. Myrtle even asks him to go for a group dinner with the other white people at the end of the episode.

* PrettyBoy: He's a pretty young man with white skin and black hair (almost of RavenHairIvorySkin appeal). His appearance is often commented upon, so it gets Lampshaded on numerous occasions. Jonah gets likened to a male Tinker Bell, he's said to have geisha features, he's supposed to look like an elf or a baby of a panda and a Disney princess, and apparently, he's a fancy little porcelain doll-man.

* LazyBum: Prides himself on doing the bare minimum at work. Though he refuses to do any less than that.

* EasilyOverheardConversation: Has a quiet conversation with Amy about Jeff being in a secret relationship with Mateo rather than Sandra while Sarah is less than five feet away. She immediately shares the gossip with the rest of the staff.

Sandra and Jerry's teenage adopted son introduced at the end of the 5th season. Briefly works at Cloud 9 in season 6.

* SecretOtherFamily: Divorced fellow Superstore associate Rob after it was revealed she had a secret other family.
