* ImprobableAge: A Jedi Master at 23 years old.

* CodeName: Her callsign in a fighter is "[[DoesNotLikeShoes Toes]]".

* DoesNotLikeShoes: She is so well-known for this that her squadron adopted the name "Barefoot Squadron." Fittingly, her callsign is "Toes."

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Her reaction to inadvertently killing hundreds of her fellow Barabels by destroying a Yuuzhan Vong slave transport in anger in ''Remnant''. She is [[OutDamnedSpot troubled by what she had done]], which leads her to [[MustMakeAmends attempt a daring capture]] of a similar slave ship later on in the book.

* SignificantGreenEyedRedHead: Mara is one of the most prominent characters in ''Legends'', figuring heavily into multiple story arcs, having her own spin-off comic, and eventually becoming Luke's other half from ''New Jedi Order'' forward. Her most distincting physical features are her red-gold hair and green eyes.

* ArtificialLimbs: One of her legs and an arm were shot off by an [[AxCrazy insane]] Gallactic Alliance Security officer during Darth Caedus' siege of the Jedi Academy on Ossus.

* LightningBruiser: As a Chev, Lobi was much larger than an average human and had powerfull thickly built limbs, but as shown in her duel with Alema and Lumiya she could move extremely quickly and a simple kick from her could send opponents flying.

The nephew of Chewbacca, Lowbacca was discovered to be Force-sensitive and sent to train at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Acadamy on Yavin 4, where he quickly became friends with the Solo children. Since then, he has proven to be one of the Jedi Order's best pilots and mechanics, serving on the frontlines of every galactic conflict alongside his friends.

* CurbStompBattle: During the retaking of Coruscant from the Lost Tribe, Yaqeel spotted a man with a dark Force aura watching a battle between Jedi and Sith in a plaza. When she tried to take him into custody, he effortsly disarmed her and told her "not yet". Considering the heavy implication that the man was [[spoiler:Darth Krayt]], Yaqeel was lucky to survive.

A orphan who befriended the Solo children on Coruscant, he was kidnapped by the Shadow Acadamy and trained to be a Dark Jedi. He eventually turned to the Lightside and briefly became a bounty hunter before joining the Jedi Order, and entered into a LoveTriangle for Jaina's affections with Jagged Fel, which he eventually lost. He is now engaged to one of Tenal Ka's cousins, Taryn Zel, and continues to serve the Jedi Order as one of its most capable Jedi Knights.

A human male, Dyon is a failed Jedi apprentice with a weak connection to the Force. He became a guide on Dathmori, and assisted Grand Master Luke Skywalke and his son Ben when they arrived on the planet chasing Sith Apprentice Vastari Khai. He fell prey to the Force madness spread by Abeloth, [[spoiler:who took over his body, forcing Luke to kill him.]]

* BadassInCharge: Grand Master of the Jedi Order.

* LaserBlade: Started out with a green lightsaber in ''Jedi Knight'', then a yellow one (courtesy of [[spoiler:Yun]]), and finally a blue one in Outcast and Academy.

Through the turmoil, Luke has gained and lost much: he married former Emperor's Hand Mara Jade and had a son named Ben, but also lost his nephew Anakin Solo and close friend Chewbacca in the Yuuzhan Vong War, and his other nephew Jacen fell to the Dark Side, becoming Darth Caedus, and was killed by his twin sister Jaina, but not before [[spoiler:murdering Mara to secure his place as the new Dark Lord of the Sith.]] He continued to lead the Jedi Order against Abeloth and the Lost Tribe, before eventually retiring in ''Crucible''.

* OffModel: Various illustrations had him look much like his father, particularly during ''Legacy of the Force'', even though the text made it clear that he took after his mother.

* StrongFamilyResemblance: Nearly all of his mannerisms and physical traits are inherited from Mara.

* [[IAmAHumanitarian I Am A Sithitarian]]: Barabels have some odd eating habits, and have no taboo about eating the bodies of fallen enemies. When the Lost Tribe occupy the Jedi Temple, Tesar and his fellow Barabels kill and eat any of them who enter the underlevels.

* AcePilot: Mandatory for being part of [[Literature/XWingSeries Rogue Squadron]].
* ActionGirl: She was at once badass enough to take down one of the most powerful and yet least impressive Sith Lords ever, [[spoiler: her twin brother nonetheless,]] and yet despite being a fully-functioning Jedi Knight and part of the Skywalker line (which practically burns with Force potential), still had to get additional training from Boba freaking Fett. In the New Jedi Order, she took down [[TheDragon the Warmaster]] single-handedly.
* FauxActionGirl: Has several unfortunate moments of this. She gets better in ''Literature/FateOfTheJedi''.

** By the time Luke is Grand Master of the New Jedi Order, he also possesses a number of rare Force abilities as well. These include the ability to walk on lava, become a Force Ghost, create copies of objects with The Force, cloak himself from detection by other Force Users, and attain a state known as Oneness, during which time a Force User achieves an advanced connection to The Force that allows them to almost become a part of it, with luminous energy flowing from Luke's body when he does this. By the end of the ''Franchise/StarWarsLegends'' continuity, Luke is easily the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy, if not the most powerful Force User in general, with him being seen as a LivingLegend and a necessary presence in solving the galaxy's problems.

* BroughtDownToBadass: Being exposed to Ysalamiri means that he is still a veteran soldier with a laser sword who can still kick your ass.
* TheChessmaster: Pulls off a huge BatmanGambit on the Lost Tribe, and manipulates Caedus towards the end of ''Legacy of the Force.'' In the latter series, he also pulls a BatmanGambit on ''Boba Fett.''

* CodeName: His call sign in a fighter is "Farm Boy". Before this he was the original "Rogue Leader" after he founded Rogue Squadron with Wedge Antilles and Arhul Narra.

* GoodIsNotSoft: Especially towards the Lost Tribe.

* HotForStudent: A non-creepy example since both were adults, but Luke ended up marrying Mara Jade, who was both a formal student as his Jedi Praxeum and an informal student during the events of ''The Thrawn Trilogy'' and ''Hand of Thrawn'' respectively.

* TheIdealistWasRight: Darth Vader. Despite Obi-Wan and Yoda's assurances that Vader and Palpatine both had to be killed, it ended up being Luke's faith in his father that proved them wrong and subsequently led to the Emperor being killed at Vader's hands. This is played with regarding Kyp Durron. Luke suffers criticism at the hands of Corran Horn during the ''Jedi Academy Trilogy'', when Kyp is basically let off scott free for killing millions. However, Kyp goes on to become one of the New Jedi Order's most powerful and skilled members and even earns a seat on the Jedi Council alongside Luke AND Corran. But, Kyp also proves to still be a source of grief for Luke in later years, specifically during the ''New Jedi Order'' series, in which Kyp leads a splinter faction of Jedi committed to fighting the Yuuzhan Vong even though Luke has ordered the Jedi not to do so.
* IfYouKillHimYouWillBeJustLikeHim: The major lesson Luke learns from his first journey into the cage on Dagobah and what he has to face again on the Second Death Star. This is also the reason he decides not to kill Darth Caedus on the ''Anakin Solo'' during the events of ''Legacy of the Force''; he's afraid that him killing Caedus will cause his son Ben to fall to the Dark Side and become another Caedus. Luke later goes out of his way to avoid fighting and killing Caedus for the same reason, only in regards to himself instead.

* OlderAndWiser: The ''Franchise/StarWarsLegends'' continuity covers over 40 years between ''Film/ANewHope'' and ''Literature/StarWarsCrucible''. This means that Luke is past the age of ''60'' by the time the series concludes. Naturally, since he's a main character in the majority of works in the series, he develops into this by the end.

Luke actually has a number of teachers, formal and informal, over the course of his life: Obi-Wan, Yoda, Joruus C'baoth, Darth Sidious, etc. However, the majority of what he learned about both the Force and being a Jedi, he learned through trial and error over the events of his life.

Despite being heavily weakened during the Yuuzhan Vong War, they would continue to grow stronger and remain in power for another century, until the One Sith took over the revived Galactic Empire. But even then, several Jedi remained, and the order would once again return.

* InsaneTrollLogic: During an argument about the Jedi's past, she insists that since there's no proof anymore the Jedi were warriors, no-one can prove they ''weren't'' warriors, QED. It should be noted that this is when she's gone nuts from grief.

* BeenThereShapedHistory: Downplayed. He survived the Battle of Yavin in his Y-Wing, but he wasn't directly involved with it being destoryed

* TheChessmaster: Pulls off a huge BatmanGambit on the Lost Tribe, manipulates Caedus towards the end of ''Legacy of the Force.'' In the latter series, he also pulls a BatmanGambit on ''Boba Fett.''

* TheIdealist: Standard for Luke, dating back to his belief of there being good still inside Darth Vader. He almost always believes that there is a chance to redeem people who have fallen to the Dark Side, is willing to work with and accept people regardless of their backgrounds, and spends his entire life attempting to undo the damage to the galaxy that his father die and to make a better future for the next generation. As seen in StarWarsLegacy, even dying isn't enough to stop Luke from doing this, as he constantly shows up as a Force Ghost to help his descendant, Cade Skywalker, regain faith in the galaxy and the Jedi way. The climax of the series even see's Luke talking Cade out of committing suicide and helping Cade to put aside his fear and to accept hope.

* PetTheDog: He discards some of the Old Jedi Order’s more unnecessary rules as Grand Master. The end result is a [[RedeemingReplacement more humanized]] Order, one that lacks the old one’s many flaws.
** He allows the Jedi to have relationships with each other and get married, with Luke himself getting married to [[FieryRedhead Mara Jade]] later in his life. Given that his parents’ SecretRelationship indirectly led to the Old Jedi Order’s destruction, it’s probably for the better (that being said, it's also deconstructed; after Mara dies, Luke goes into a HeroicBSOD at the time the galaxy can least afford it, and his attachment to Jacen clouded his vision to the point he missed several obvious signs his nephew was going bad).
** Luke made the old Jedi robes no longer mandatory, and encouraged his students to wear whatever they wanted.
** [[AllLovingHero Being a strong believer in a redemption]], Luke didn’t hold a strict view of destroying DarkSide artifacts and killing its users on the spot, instead urging his students to help those taken by it and help them return to the Light.
** The whole rule of only infants being accepted into the Order was discarded, with most of Luke’s earlier students being in their early teens (admittedly, this came out of necessity, since he had to recruit from adults to get the Order started).

* PsychicPowers: Since this is basically what the abilities of The Force come down to, Luke naturally has access to many of them. These include telekinesis, empathy, precognition, telepathy, and even mind control and teleportation.
