* CatSmile: She has a natural one that shows up in some photos and videos.

** Even after Sakura Gakuin, she's proved to be quite the workhorse – juggling school, music lessons, meetings with talent people, and a surprisingly active social media presence, plus releasing two singles within four months. Time will tell if she's able to keep all that up as her schooling intensifies.

* DoingItForTheArt: [[invoked]] A lot of what she does with Elevenplay and Perfume can count as this. She often goes out of her way to try and create something unusual and unique, often employing advanced technology with her longtime collaborator Rhizomatiks. A good example is the Elevenplay video [[https://youtu.be/bY0lMfl1rpI "S.P.A.C.E."]] shot at the height of the COVID pandemic.
** Even with Sakura Gakuin she never half-assed the choreography and made sure the girls didn't either. There was no reason for her to create "Let's Dance", but she did it anyway.

** Aiko's first year overlapped with NHMR's last. Nene told her that two months from then Aiko would no longer fit this trope and would have to learn to be a good ''{{senpai|kohai}}''. [[{{Irony}} The next year's new members were Megumi and Sara, both of whom are older and taller than Aiko]].

* FreudianSlip: On an early ''FRESH'' episode, Megu offhandedly referred to Aiko as '''''{{senpai|Kohai}}'''''. Mori-sensei immediately called her on it.

* CoolBigSis: Yume considers her one despite their closeness in age, writing in diaries about how Miki offers to ride the Shinkansen train with her – Yume's home is in Nagoya, while Miki's is a few stops down the line in Osaka – and gave her one of her jerseys.[[labelnote:*]] ''SenpaiKohai'' hand-me-downs are a longtime Sakura Gakuin tradition. This is why in backstage photos you can sometimes see girls wearing shirts from events that happened before they joined.[[/labelnote]]

* MemeticHandGesture: Wiggles her hands around a lot and/or makes chopping gestures with her arms. Some fans who follow her ''Kinder TV'' appearances or other on-camera content watch closely to see if one of her hand-wiggles makes it into the final cut.
** A late-2019 twitter video has her attempting to promote ''The Disappearance of Rabbit Island'' (a play she was cast in) but being distracted by people behind the camera talking to her and getting her so excited that she ends up reduced to babbling and waving her arms for a bit before finishing her spiel, causing everyone else in the room to bust out laughing.

* {{Keigo}}: She's said by the other girls to use very polite speech. During her ''FRESH'' debut, she spoke quietly and politely the entire time.

* KansaiRegionalAccent: As noted above, she comes from Wakayama – due south of Osaka – so jokes sometimes involve her accent. Even when using Standard vocabulary, she speaks with a noticeable lilt characteristic of Kansai. "Mezase! Super Lady 2017" calls out her heavy accent.

* KansaiRegionalAccent: Since she's from Osaka, she occasionally slips into her accent. In particular, she'd use it in her diary entries. It's also in her spoken line in "Mezase! Super Lady" 2017 and 2018. And she used it in Kobaibu skits after Tsugumi, a ''huge'' fan of Osakan comedy who isn't from Kansai but uses the accent anyway, joined her.
** At ''Sakura Gakuin Festival 2016'' '''and''' the 2017 Transfer Ceremony, Mori-sensei pushed her far enough that she switched to harsh-Kansai (think Yakuza) and threatened to beat the snot out of him.
*** Note however that Soyo admitted in a subsequent ''FRESH'' episode that she was extremely uncomfortable playing such a delinquent because it's the polar opposite of her real personality.
** In 2018 Soyo created her own character: an auntie named Michiko who speaks in a VERY THICK Osaka accent. While she mostly appeared on ''FRESH!'' streams, Michiko made a brief vocal cameo during ''Sakura Gakuin Festival 2018''. She later showed up in her full, uh, glory (leopard-print shirt, bad perm [wig], sunglasses) during Day 1 of the 2019 ''Festival''.

* KansaiRegionalAccent: Reported to slip into her accent at times, especially with Soyoka also being from Osaka.
** Miki almost always inserts some Kansai phrasing into her diaries.
** She has been known to write diaries about the "Happy Kansai Trio" (herself, Soyoka, and Yuzumi).
** Following Soyoka's lead, Miki also created an Osakan Granny character: Misae.

* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish: After graduating Sakura Gakuin, Ayami began studying English intensively and by 2015 her pronunciation was pretty good. In 2016, after her contract with Amuse ended, she moved to New Zealand. While she mostly tweets in Japanese, foreigners who have met her since her 2018 comeback have confirmed that, while she still has an accent, she's clearly comfortable enough with English to converse with non-Japanese fans unassisted.
** In March 2019, she used her proficiency in writing English to subvert an agency-imposed firewall and told the world she had gone to a museum with Moa (who is not allowed to be publicly photographed out of uniform). While Moa was not ''in'' any photos, likely at her own request, Ayami told fans that Moa took the photos of her.
** During a November 2019 livestream with Raura, Ayami saw a comment written in colloquial English and nearly burst out laughing: "Please bring Nene-don out from the underworld." She had to explain to Rau what it meant.

* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish: She's been working to improve her English skills and her pronunciation has become pretty good, although she has yet to reach fluency. Still, listen to her English during her Sakura Gakuin days versus interviews and singing in 2019; her improvement is undeniable even if she still has an accent.
** [[invoked]] At "LEGEND S", her 20th birthday concert, she had precorded several minutes worth of narration entirely in English – which, while accented, was understandable ([[TrueArtIsIncomprehensible even if the subject matter itself was not]]) – and, as has become standard, she spoke to the audience in English despite 95% of attendees being Japanese.
** When Su makes mistakes in English, they tend to be grammatical and often become {{memetic|mutation}}.

** After she became a SingerSongwriter, this overlaps with SurprisinglyGoodEnglish. One of her first Youtube videos – made when she realized she had a not-insignificant number of overseas fans – was an [[https://youtu.be/r8SLqt9SNRg "English Speaking Challenge".]] Although she had to write down what she wanted to say and has a thick accent, it was not difficult to understand her, and fans praised her effort.

** During ''Sakura Gakuin Festival 2017'', Momoko poked fun at Aiko's past as Ameri-chan, repeating the very first line Aiko said as the mascot – "Nice to meet you. I am Amelie of American Home Direct. I'm glad to meet you." – and it came off as SurprisinglyGoodEnglish. Some of the other girls looked surprised Momoko was able to sound better at English than Aiko.

* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish: She's heavily hinted she has an uncle who is a native English speaker and a bilingual cousin, which is likely how she picked it up and why her pronunciation is nearly flawless.
** In her very first appearance on [=LoGiRL=] (Episode 15), she reluctantly introduced herself in English when prompted by Mori-sensei. Her reticence was because she's not a native speaker – and yes she did use the term "native speaker" rather than whatever the Japanese equivalent is. Even back then it was difficult to tell.

** For one ''a capella'' performance, she covered Judy Garland's version of "Over The Rainbow"; it is very difficult to tell English isn't her native language. She was only the second girl in SG history to do an entirely English song for that exercise.[[labelnote:*]] Yui Mizuno was the first, singing part of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors". But Yui had a noticeable accent while Marin didn't. For the record, Marin mispronounced "chimney", but that was her only mistake.[[/labelnote]]
*** At her final ''Archaeology Of Song'' in March 2019, she sang "Defying Gravity" from ''Theatre/{{Wicked}}''. This time, she had difficulty and tripped over one of the verses. In Marin's defense, Idina Menzel herself has noted how difficult a song it is. Also, Marin took full advantage of being a natural soprano and let out some glorious high notes.
** Her verse in "Mezase Super Lady" makes note of her English skills and her spoken lines are in English. She was also given most of the English phrases in later performances of "Song For Smiling". In 2018, when "Wonderful Journey" came back into rotation, she was given the line originally spoken by Marina: ''"Thank you very much!!"''. It's easy to tell Marin's the one saying it because the pronunciation is perfect.
** In Episode 35 of ''FRESH!'', she picked up a guitar and sang an adapted-to-English ''by her'' version of the song "Identity". Well, the first verse and chorus anyway. She stated in one of her rare diaries that she spent a long time working to maintain the song's feel, and consulted with her uncle on the translation.

* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish: Momoe was the third member after Yui and the bilingual Marin to sing an English song for ''Anthology'' and sounded better than anyone not named Marin, Aiko, or Momoko.
** During the Covid pandemic which shut Sakura Gakuin down just before graduation, all the girls wrote messages on why they were staying home, but Momoe wrote hers in (100% correct) English -- "I stay home to protect my family."
** Averted just over a year earlier during the 2018 Nendo test – one of the only questions she got wrong – when she misspelled "Fairy Tale" as "Fearie Tail". However, Momoe is well-known to be a perfectionist, so that mistake could easily have spurred her to brush up on her English.
*** Sure enough, during a @onefive interview in Summer 2020 (shortly before her delayed graduation from SG), Momoe echoed Kano's desire to become proficient in English and, as she'd done before, one-upped Kano by saying she wanted to learn ''more'' than just English.[[note]] She'd said in an earlier appearance that her mother sometimes went on business trips to France, so one can infer an interest in going that route -- it doesn't hurt that she knows fellow Amuse talent, Ciào Girl Lilliane Roy, who is half-French and can speak the language to an extent, though Lilliane is two school years (1.5yrs) younger.[[/note]]
** At her graduation, she gave a ShoutOut in English to international fans she knew were watching the livestream, saying she hoped they would enjoy SG's performance (aside from the word "performance" itself, her pronunciation was extremely good). She did it again a few months later in @onefive's Autumn livestream – Kano had recited some English earlier in the broadcast but her accent was thicker than Momo's.

** Voices Reimi in ''Healer Girl''

** Worth noting Raura was the first member to bob her hair, and one of the few to do it while active in the group.[[note]] Many members do so after graduation, some within weeks. The only other members to date who have bobbed their hair ''during'' active tenure are Rinon (in 2015) and Yuzumi (in 2016).[[/note]]

** As noted above, she came back to Sakura Gakuin again in 2016 along with Hinata to take part in the ''Shuoh Gakuin'' musical play. There she met and worked with Yuzumi, who returned the favor by attending Raura's play ''Re:turn Kakomori'' along with Marina.

* CunningLinguist: Her English skills were already apparent (though rarely if ever commented upon) during her time in Sakura Gakuin. These days, she will occasionally write her Twitter posts in both Japanese and English.

!!Music/AikoYamaide (山出 愛子) 2013 - 2018

** While still in elementary school, she declared with confidence that she would grow to be 170cm (5’7”) by the time she graduated high school. That's… not working out thus far to put it mildly.

* HeightAngst: Discussed. You wouldn't expect it from a girl who was, at 163.8cm (5’4½”), the tallest of the 2016 ''and'' 2017 classes and to-date the sixth-tallest graduate, but she wrote in one of her diaries of her worry that Soyoka, two years younger and seeming to grow taller by the day, would pass her by graduation. As of Fall 2020, Soyo is still ~2cm shorter.

** While she is shorter than the average for her age, she's still taller than the two Graduates she admires most: Saki Ooga and Moa Kikuchi.

* InSeriesNickname: Soyo, Soyo-chan; Soyo-chin by Momoe

She left Amuse exactly one year after Sakura Gakuin's disbandment, becoming the second member to voluntarily leave entertainment post-pandemic (Miku was the first).\\

** Her braces were removed in Summer 2019, though she implied in her diary about it that it might be a two-stage process – not uncommon for kids who start braces young. Sure enough, she began her second round of braces shortly after New Year's 2020. In one of her final diaries, she said that she was ''supposed'' to get them off in Spring 2021 but, because COVID forced shutdowns and delays of all the things, Miki wasn't able to get her braces off for good by the time the group ended.

*** She continued to be a backup dancer for Licca-chan commercials after her SG ''sempai'' Miki Yagi took lead. She also performed alongside Ciào Smiles member Miyu Oshima, who's nine months younger than (and thus a grade-level behind) Sakia. Some Fukei consider one of the bigger disappointments of Senseis' decision to wind everything down in 2020 is Miyu never getting the chance to audition for SG.

* NamesTheSame:[[invoked]] Mikiko shares her rarely-used last name with Sakura Gakuin and ex-Babymetal member Yui, who of course trained under her for years. They are not related. "Mizuno" is a very common family name in Japan.

* NamesTheSame:[[invoked]] As Hayashi Mori-sensei. They are not related. Mori (literally meaning "forest") is a very common family name in Japan. Mori-sen ''does'' have a daughter, but she's much younger than Momoe.
** However, Mori-sen ''has'' used their shared last name to tease her. Such as, she would say something during a ''FRESH!'' episode and he would retort, "Daddy is against it!!"

* NamesTheSame:[[invoked]] She has the exact same last name (kanji included) as Hinata, but they are not related. [[note]] Hinata lists her "hometown" as Niigata Prefecture [-(although she was born in Yamagata just to its north)-]. That's several hundred kilometers northeast of Saga.[[/note]]

** Due to the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic pushing back her graduation, fans have joked that Kano may be the first Class President to be held back (Mori-sen had said early in 2015 he wanted to do this to Ayami).

* SituationalHandSwitch: This may also be why, despite her strength, she lost out in the first round of the arm-wrestling competition during her orientation. Since every other member was (and is) right-handed, Kano had to compete at a disadvantage.

* RavenHairIvorySkin: The most extreme example Sakura Gakuin has ever had. Her skin is so pale, fans and at least one member openly wondered if she's a ''haafu'' (mixed-race). Her irises are also noticeably lighter than most Japanese – light brown, almost amber, instead of the usual dark brown.
** While SG's sister-group Ciào Smiles ''has'' had at least two haafu amongst its ranks[[labelnote:*]] (Liliane Roy [half-French] and Karen Kojima [half-Czech])[[/labelnote]], there is no ''official'' confirmation that Sana herself is mixed. Sakura Girls themselves have, for the most part, only pointed out her extremely light skin and never asked ''why''.

** During her time with a prior agency in her home prefecture Kumamoto, she went by a completely different stage name, which itself may or may not be her real name. Out of respect for her privacy, it will not be revealed here unless she confirms it (or until after she graduates).

* [[PromotedFanboy Promoted Fangirl]]:[[invoked]] As one would expect, she's a big fan of Suzuka Nakamoto, name-dropping Su in her very first diary. Less then two months after her Sakura Gakuin debut, she – along with 10 of the other 12 members – attended the second night of Babymetal's "Awakens" show in Yokohama and got to see Su do her thing live. [[note]] The missing member was Class President Kano Fujihira, and the reason she wasn't with the rest of the girls was because she was ''onstage performing'' '''with''' ''Su and Moa''.[[/note]]

* GamerChick: In 2022, Mariri started a [[https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOSvyfzRSU4AQV4tjVISQRQ Youtube channel]] where the vast majority of her content is her livestreaming ''VideoGame/{{Splatoon}}'' and sometimes other PVP games. At least once, she did the entire stream while dressed in cosplay, something she's long known to have loved.
