This is a list of the characters found in the PlayByPostGames and {{Fan Webcomic|s}}, ''RolePlay/PokemonDigimonMonWars''

A trainer from New Bark Town in Johto, having picked Cyndaquil. Like Ash, he's eager to join up in a Pokemon League, however he ends up finding the tournament ain't open yet. So what is a HotBlooded trainer to do? How about deal with invading digimon that are conquering the whirl islands? Like the Pallet Town trainers, the trainers of New Bark Town received D-Spheres and crests of their own, Jimmy's being gold and the crest of Freedom.

* BadassNormal: Pretty skilled even without pokemon

Started out alongside Jimmy in New Bark Town with a Totodile. She's a GenkiGirl who idol cute men in capes, especially Lance. She's aspiring to become a Pokemon Coordinator. When the digimon arrived, she was given a crystal D-Sphere and a crest.

* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: When Sanzomon questions wither she should heal Lance and his pokemon, Marina was not amused and yelled her head off at the monk.

* IdolSinger: Dreams to stand on stage with her pokemon as idols

He might have started his pokemon journey the same day as Jimmy, however Silver isn't from New Bark Town. Before the storyline, he was more of a {{Jerkass}}, TheRival to Jimmy as their views on training pokemon contrast with one another. However over time, Silver had TookALevelInKindness, managing to evolving his Golbat into a Crobat. Becomes of this changed, it might have been what allowed him to receive a silver D-Sphere and the crest of trust.

A recent trainer from New Bark Town who just started her pokemon journey. She finds herself in an adventure bigger than she expected with digimon and Johto become a gigantic mountain. Her D-Sphere is pink and her crest is Joy.

* CompositeCharacter: While she's Lyra like the one in the anime, she shows elements of Kris from ''Manga/PokemonAdventures'' with wanting to be a skilled pokemon catcher like her mother

* MissingMom: Her mother goes on pokemon journeys a lot, so Lyra hardly sees her
* StrongButUnskilled: As she has a D-Sphere and Crest, she can digivolve her pokemon past their highest stages once unlocked early and can use whatever functions the D-Sphere has to offer. However unlike the other D-Sphere Holders, Lyra only has recently started her pokemon journey, she lacks the experience as a real trainer. Her pokemon are still at low levels.

One of the Sinnoh Dragon Trio, was locked up in the Distortion World along with the sealed evolution. Thanks to Butch and Cassidy, he was temporary set loose into Pokéarth, causing trouble for the heroes. It took the entire [=DigiDestined=] team, the Legendary Birds and the newly Stage-3 pokemon to cast him back into the Distortion World.

* NonMaliciousMonster: Like all pokemon, Giratina isn't evil. He's just very pissed off for being locked up in another dimension for eons and he's very aggressive.

* DarkIsNotEvil: Giratina. A godlike Ghost-Dragon monstrosity that lurks in an alternate universe and can be seen floating near cemetaries. But, it's more aggressive than evil and only attacks when it feels its home dimension (IE: The Distortion World/Reverse World) is under threat.

* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: While not TheFinalBoss (though he is alongside Giratina, the final opponent of the Orange Island arc), his revival was quite a surprise

* GoodColorsEvilColors: His dark red and purple design is definitely not meant to make him look cuddly.

* GenreSavvy: Is one of the competent villains in the series, planning to weaken the children before going after them, but doesn't approach DangerouslyGenreSavvy since he doesn't go and kill them himself. Despite his boasting, he's also aware that he's just a big fish in a small pound.

Boss of Team Rocket and the Viridian Gym Leader. So operates within the shadows, though thanks to Datamon's involvement, he had received the technology to give his underlings the power to digivolve their pokemon passed the highest level.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: He's the head of a criminal group AND the Viridian City Gym leader.
* {{Badass}}: The most powerful Kanto Gym Leader, leader of a vast criminal organization, and commands such powerful Pokémon as Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Rhydon, and Kangaskhan. Taken to the extreme now that he can evolve his pokemon further, such as his Persian!
* BigBad: He's the leader of Team Rocket, who causing some problems to the heroes, especially now that they have pseudo-digivices of their own
** NonActionBigBad: Unlike the digimon villains, Giovanni is a human and has to use pokemon for his battles. He's also been a OrcusOnHisThrone so far
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: He owned Pokemon Land, an attraction park featuring giant robot Pokemon, implying that he is some sort of businessman.
* DiabolicalMastermind: The first in the {{Pokemon}} series.
* DishingOutDirt: As the Viridian Gym Leader, he specialize in Ground-types.
* TheDon: He's a leader of a mafia-like organization
* FauxAffablyEvil: He's quite polite and personable as he tells you that he's going to TakeOverTheWorld with Team Rocket, and if you oppose him he'll make you experience a world of pain.
* InfinityPlusOneSword: Has been given the technology to make pseudo-digivices that digivolves organization's pokemon through the power of shadow, the super effective to all types (except for Digimon's light) from the PokemonColosseum series

* MeaningfulName: His name is pronounced GEO-vanni. The name indicates both his occupations: a Mafia Boss and a Gym Leader of Ground-type Pokémon.

* RightHandCat: Now a Right-Hand SABER TOOTH TIGER!

!!Datamon

ArchEnemy to Etemon from DigimonAdventure, brought BackFromTheDead by the Dark Masters to ensure the Digidestineds never return to their world. However he had plans of his own, and ForScience he hunted down the GS Ball from Ash to unlock its secret of the sealed evolution. Even though defeated, his influence still lingers as it was he hinted at the Sealed Evolution and encouraged Team Rocket to take part in unlocking it.

* ArcVillain: He can be seen as the BigBad of the Orange Islands arc
* AIIsACrapshoot: Originally a robotic digimon, but now he only exist as an A.I. programming since his original body has been destroyed. He can however take control of other machines.
* DragonWithAnAgenda: While he was revived to serve Machinedramon to battle the Digidestined, he had his own plans
* ForScience: His reasons for unlocking the sealed evolution
* HumongousMecha: Despite being an ultimate, Datamon is WeakButSkilled. In order to fight Ash and his pokemon, Datamon created a mech to take command.
* UnwillingRoboticisation: Captures pokemon to turn them into robots
* WeakButSkilled: Datamon maybe an ultimate, but he's weak as a rookie. However he makes up for this with his high IQ.

!!Jesse, James & Meowth

The main villains of the anime series, Jessie, James, and Meowth are always planning up a way to capture Ash's Pikachu, who they have deemed to be exceptionally special, strong, and worthy of giving as a gift to their boss, Giovanni. Originally, they usually worked as a stand-alone branch of Team Rocket. This even lead Giovanni to forget that they were members of the crime organization to begin with!

Because of the Mon Wars, they have taken an interest in Digimon, wanting to present them to their boss. Of course their tactics resort to their same old trap holes and giant mechs.

* AffablyEvil: Despite working for Team Rocket, they aren't as evil as other members. They can't even control the power of shadow.
* AntiVillain: They're not as evil, they truly love their pokemon and EvenEvilHasStandards.
* BackToBackBadasses: When reciting their mottos
* BreakingTheFourthWall: One of the few constant wall breakers
* CatchPhrase: Their intro speech ("Prepare for trouble! Make it double!...") and "Team Rocket's blasting off again!".

* CommutingOnABus/DemotedToExtra: With Ash and Pikachu being closely tied in plots helping the Digidestined fighting against their enemies, Team Rocket has made little appearances troubling the boy or his friends, being just recurring enemies rather than the constant villains as they were in the anime. However with Team Rocket gaining knowledge of Digivolution, the trio may get a bigger role as time goes by.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass / LetsGetDangerous: When they aren't being used for jokes, they are quite threatening.
* CustomUniform: Their original white uniforms were this. All other Team Rocket grunts wear black, but they wore white symbolizing how outlandish they were from the rest of the organization.
* DamnItFeelsGoodToBeAGangster: They all ''love'' their jobs.
* {{Determinator}}s: No matter how many times they've been blasted off, they will never give up on trying to capture Pikachu.
* {{Drama Queen}}s: All three of them, seriously.
* {{Faceship}}: Their iconic Meowth hot-air balloon.
* FreudianExcuse: Jessie grew up in poverty while Meowth spent much of his life as a stray. While James in contrast was part of a well-off family, his parents were cruel to him and wanted to force him to get married.
* GenreSavvy: Despite their blundering, they do seem the most self aware of the show and its standard plot points. Some of their more competent moments also often come from anticipating the "twerps" and their Pokémon's usual retaliations. Hell, they are aware a lot of their plans would have gone on without a hitch if it weren't for them getting involved.
* HumongousMecha: They sometimes utilize ridiculous mecha robots to aid their nefarious deeds, though they are always destroyed by the plot's end, sending the trio blasting off.
* InTheNameOfTheMoon: Team Rocket's motto that they recite in every episode.
* LightIsNotGood: Unlike most of the black outfitted members, they are the only ones ever dressed in white. Even Meowth's creamy-coloured fur references this trope.
* MadeOfIron: They actually credit their encounters with the protagonists and being blasted off to making them this.
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: To test out the new digivices, Jesse and James were used as subjects by the rest of Team Rocket, namely Butch and Cassidy
* ShooOutTheClowns: Unlike how in "Best Wishes" they started to become serious and threatening (Prior to Decolora Adventures), the Team Rocket trio was DemotedToExtras when Ash and co. entered the Mon Wars. Although its still possible they'll be brought back into the spotlight once the Team Rocket organization gets more involved in the plot. So like Best Wishes, only with digimon being the PlotDevice and not an Unova pokemon.

!!Cassidy and Butch

Two recurring agents of Team Rocket, Cassidy and Butch are far more competent than Jessie, James and Meowth and wear the tradition Team Rocket black uniform rather than the trio's white outfits. They were part of unleashing the sealed evolution, by breaking Giratina out of the Distortion World. They latter appeared, having used Jesse and James to test the Team Rocket's digivice on controlling shadow.

* AccidentalMisnaming: In a RunningGag, Butch is called the wrong name repeatedly - like Botch, Biff, Hutch, Bob and even [[Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer Buffy]].
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: They were essentially versions of Jessie and James who were actually competent. Unlike Jesse and James, Butch and Cassidy were able to use the power of shadow with little problems.

Metal Seadramon's underling, a mermaid sea pirate who leads a crew of aquatic digimon. She was sent to Pokearth with her follows to ensure the Digidestined never returns to the Digital World or their own world, however ended up plotting her own goals. however, unlike Datamon, never tried to be TheStarscream but seek out goals to support her masters. They terrorized the Whirl Islands seeking Manaphy's egg, wanting his power to control all water pokemon, and merging the brainwashed become with humans like in PokemonReburst, would have been able to enslave humans too.

* FusionDance: Using the Burst Hearts from PokemonReburst, had an army of Water-Type Burst Warriors. Had a special one to use herself with a baby Lugia.
* PirateGirl: Captain of her own crew
* TheDragon: To Metal Seadramon
* TheRival: To Captain Hookmon
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Fear of frogs, hates it when they touch her. Captain Hookmon's Geckomon took advantage of that

The first Dark Master, he rules over the aquatic portions of Spiral Mountain. A hothead eager to prove himself, he's a cyborg sea serpent with gold plating, and an energy cannon affixed to his snout. He is Mermaimon's master, and with her spellcasting follows, intends to enslave water pokemon and turn humans into his private Burst Warrior slaves.

* BadBoss: Notably averted, as he's about the only BigBad in the first series not to be one. So long as you do your job right he's actually a pretty good boss. Yeah, he killed Scorpiomon, but only after he failed him rather severely, and was very willing to reward him with his favorite food for doing his job correctly. That said, he's pretty short-tempered and impatient at best, so he's still pretty evil.

* BreathWeapon[=/=]PlayingWithFire: Unlike other Seadramon, he breathes fire instead of ice.

The second Dark Master, he rules over the woodlands of Spiral Mountain. A creepy living marionette, he has the personality of a spoiled brat, and an explosive temper. Is plotting with Petermon in manipulating children to leave their homes and come to Never Never Land.

The third Dark Master, he rules over the industrial areas of Spiral Mountain. Initially appearing to be just a mindless mechanical monstrosity, he turns out to be highly intelligent, and as cruel as he is efficient. Datamon was one of his minions and while the robotic digimon became TheStarscream, Machinedramon's empire is using Datamon's technology to continue turning pokemon into robots.
* AxCrazy: Despite his CreepyMonotone voice, he's no less unstable and insane than Puppetmon and Piedmon and some of his lines outright state he enjoys what he does. He also sometimes gets a little carried away. During the final battle with him, he started firing randomly in all directions despite the fact he'd already knocked out the Digimon attacking him, leveling a large part of the city.

The final Dark Master and the leader of the quartet, he rules over the rest of Spiral Mountain, which consists of portions of the Digital World corrupted and rendered barren by darkness. A clown with vast magical abilities, his demeanor is not too dissimilar SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker.

Tai is the first season's leader, and bearer of the Crest of Courage. He's a reckless blockhead at times, willing to jump into anything, and this gets him into serious trouble when he gets the idea in his head that, since the Digital World is digital, he can't be killed. The realization that this isn't the case freezes him right in his tracks, and when he overcomes it, he makes the proper jump from "not afraid" to "courageous." Despite his recklessness, he's a warm, encouraging guy, very friendly, and the team just doesn't work without him.

It was because Tai picked the Agumon card in this timeline that open the rifts to pokearth, and Tai feels responsible for bringing such chaos to another world.

His biological parents died when he was very young, and his father's cousins adopted him, having recently lost a child of their own. Quitting the Pokemon League, Paula seeks a way to redeem her status, and when the digimon started showing up, she ended up involved. Like Ash and Gary, she too became a Digidestined. Her D-Sphere is green and her crest is Compassion.

An original character from PokemonAdventures. Unlike the other three D-Sphere holders, Yellow isn't from Pallet Town but was born in Viridian Forest, which gives her empathetic abilities with pokemon, allowing her to heal and talk to them. The former of which is shown to be used on digimon too.
She first entered the Mon Wars when she encountered the Digidestined near her village and offered to be their guide and heal their digimon when needed. Since then, she had been given the yellow D-Sphere and the crest of Clarity.

Becomes of this changed, it might have been what allowed him to receive a silver D-Sphere and the crest of trust.

Even though defeated, his influence still lingers as it was he hinted at the Sealed Evolution and encouraged Team Rocket to take part in unlocking it.

The main villains of the anime series, Jessie, James, and Meowth are always planning up a way to capture Ash's Pikachu, who they have deemed to be exceptionally special, strong, and worthy of giving as a gift to their boss, Giovanni. Originally, they usually worked as a stand-alone branch of Team Rocket. This even lead Giovanni to forget that they were members of the crime organization to begin with!

Because of the Mon Wars, they have taken an interest in Digimon, wanting to present them to their boss. Of course their tactics resort to their same old trap holes and giant mechs.

They latter appeared, having used Jesse and James to test the Team Rocket's digivice on controlling shadow.
