* CharacterGrowth: Tareo begins his journey as a weak, timid child who is basically a doormat for the local bullies. By the end, having witnessed true villainy and heroism, and inspired by Garou, he becomes boisterous and confident, and may very well be on the way to becoming a hero himself.

* UglyCute: EEven with his unibrow, fish lips, and bald spot on his forehead, Murata's depiction of him is bright-eyed, and full of enthusiasm, especially after the Monster Association Arc when he gains new confidence.

* BullyTurnedBuddy: Downplayed, he's not much of a "bully" but acted very selfish towards Tareo. Despite that, he gets founded of Tareo and at the end of an arc invites him to his house.

* BreakTheCutie: Out of the four tournament survivors, she's clearly the most terrified and broken by the experience.

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Combined with the above trope, his treatment of Garou is what led to Garou's StartOfDarkness and Garou doing things that would later [[NothingIsTheSameAnymore change]] the story forever.

* KarmaHoudini: He never gets punished for bullying Garou.
** [[LaserGuidedKarma A possible aversion,]] but given how we never hear one mention of him in the modern story, especially in the Hero Association, it can be more than likely assumed that he in fact [[DoomedByCanon failed]] to become a hero like what he so desired to be as a kid.

* SlasherSmile: He does this in two of his confrontations with Garou, by telling his two friends to hold him down before giving him a beatdown.

* {{Bishonen}}: According to Garou, Tacchan looks like a pretty boy.
* TheBully: To Garou, as Tacchan always single him out into playing the role of a villain so he can defeat him as the hero.
* DirtyCoward: There is nothing to be considered brave or heroic by attacking social outcasts unprovoked. Both times where Tacchan fought against Garou, he tells his two friends to hold him down.

* JerkWIthAHeartInGold: Despite lying about other's kid location, he feels deeply saddened over it, and is seen weeping with joy upon seeing Tareo being rescued.

* SoftSpokenSadist: He loves to torment others and barely raises his voice while doing so. [[spoiler:This becomes inverted in his monster form, as he [[EvilIsHammy openly]] loves torturing his victim physically and mentally. He brutalizes a heavy injured Suiryu by rapidly pummelling him as well as taunting him to the point of making Suiryu feel totally hopeless. His love for torment also goes as far as being willing to stomp Sneck in front of Suiryu in order to show that no heroes will come to save him.]]

* ButtMonkey: He is so insignificant that Saitama initially has difficulty remembering who is.

* OnlyFriend: Perhaps the only one closest to being Garou's friend.

A martial artist and user of the Dark Hell Assassination Style. He is cocky and ruthless, and is said to be a top contender at the Super Fight tournament. [[spoiler: He eats three Monster Cells simultaneously to become an estimated Dragon-level threat]].

A misanthropic martial artist trained in the Fist Of The Pure Blood Master Race. [[spoiler: He eats a Monster Cell and becomes a Demon-level monster, but is defeated]].

A martial artist and user of the Harsh Path Style, who [[spoiler: eats a Monster Cell to become a monster]]. He and his dojo were also antagonists in the special chapter "Lobster".

* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Benpast is an arrogant man, looking down on heroes like Sneck.

* WordHadTheFlu: Her style requires two bladed pikes to work. Obviously, these aren't allowed in a friendly competition. Regardless, Max didn't have his explosive shoes either so it was more fair.

* TheBrute: Bakuzan is a muscular built man with spiky, dark hair. He is excessively brutal towards his opponents, especially those he feels are not worthy of facing him. [[spoiler: UpToEleven after his transformation into a monster.]]

* MoralityPet: He is pretty much there to show that Garou isn't completely a bad person. Garou is even forced to save him sometimes from being collateral damage by the heroes hunting Garou down and from members of the Monster Association.

* OldMaster: He's older than his brother, who is 81. While not much known is about Bomb's strength; [[WordOfGod ONE]] stated that he's stronger than Bang, and it is safe to say that his strength is on par with the S-Class heroes.

While Bang and Bomb see forming a dojo as a noble past time, Sourface never technically finished his training with Bang. This is something that even an amateur like Saitama realizes and calls him out on. He fails to understand the point until after the Tournament. He and the other tournament losers [[spoiler:who refused to become monsters]] were still too terrified and weak to make a difference. They decide to follow the heroes to the Monster Association, but become paralyzed by fear. Suiryu says they aren't ready yet to join them, but that he wants to become a hero too someday implying that, someday, Sourface and the others will be ready as well. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, we know from the Webcomic that Suiryu goes to the Neoheroes which are more corrupt and maybe outright evil compared to the Hero Association, so that might be where he drags the tournament goers to as well.]]
