Cleaning up Achilles Heel, which was overused on these pages. That trope isn't just "character has a weakness", it's "character is Nigh Invulnerable except for one exploitable weakness".

* AchillesHeel: Genji with his jumps and ''Swift Strike'' is very hard to hit, which is why point-and-click crowd control is especially effective against him. ''Deflect'' will also be canceled if he is stunned or silenced.

* AchillesHeel:
** No matter how much she moves around, Tracer can't dodge basic attacks. As a result, she's much less effective against ranged auto-attackers like Greymane and Raynor, who can often rip through Tracer's paper-thin health before she can take them down. For the same reason, point-and-click or instantaneous area-of-effect abilities like Kael'thas' ''Living Bomb'' or Li-Ming's ''Teleport'' (with ''Calamity'' talented) deal a significant amount of damage while being impossible to dodge. This is a major reason why Tracer is more suitable to burst someone and then immediately ''Recall'' back.
** Tracer is extremely vulnerable to crowd control. While she can deal with Slows and Roots very well, Silences and Stuns usually lock her down long enough that, even with ''Recall'', she can't get back into a save position, especially if she just tried to jump in with ''Blink'' and the ability is on cooldown.
** Tracer has nothing to deal with stealth, either, unless she lands a lucky hit with her SpinAttack Talent or has a Pulse Bomb ready, which can make her easy pickings for a well-prepared Valeera, Nova, Zeratul, etc.

* AchillesHeel: As a whole, D.Va is vulnerable to three types of crowd control: Stuns, Silences, and Roots. All three status ailments limit her performance in ''Mech Mode'' and can cripple her while in ''Pilot Mode''.

* AchillesHeel:
** Ana can't heal herself very well: ''Shrike'' only does so much, and her other option is a point-blank ''Biotic Grenade'', which wastes a lot of its utility and doesn't even heal for that much. That makes her incredibly susceptible to poke damage, which can slowly force her out of a fight. (It also used to be worse before her rework, when the HealThyself effect was added to ''Shrike''.)
** Ana is one of the three Healers in the game whose heals can ''miss'', because they're skillshots. Depending on your facility with ''Healing Dart'''s timing and your ability to LeadTheTarget, where "The Target" is ''your own allies,'' it's frustratingly possible to heal the wrong ally, or even to just hit nothing at all.

* AchillesHeel: Zarya lack any form of Crowd Control aside from her Heroic (though it makes for a very powerful one). Her MightyGlacier status is also dependent on her Energy; she needs to take damage before being able to dish them back out. Savvy enemies can [[IgnoredEnemy ignore her]] and let her Barriers expire, thus reducing her effectiveness in combat. Of course, this works both ways; putting a barrier on someone like Valla means the opponent has to [[SadisticChoice either ignore a high-octane damage dealer who then rips their team apart, or focus them and feed energy to Zarya, letting her rip their team apart]].

* UselessUsefulSpell: ''Defense Matrix'' is awkward. It's almost completely redundant -- D.Va already has fantastic (albeit non-traditional) sustain with ''Self-Destruct'' and her trait giving her multiple health bars. It's also not a great support skill, since it's purely reactive, has a puny range, and unlike armor or a shield can be interrupted with CC. ''Defense Matrix'' can at least prevent a kill combo from Kael'thas or Kel'Thuzad if you were already close to them, but those situations won't come up often. It gets better if you talent into it, but outside of a dedicated build you might never cast it.

---> '''D.Va''': "Oh by the way, I know I say ''NERF THIS!'' a lot! Please don't actually ''NERF THIS!'', okay?"

* SkillGateCharacter: Most players' first instinct when being attacked by Tracer is to run away, as this is sensible against most threats. The problem is that, despite having GunsAkimbo, Tracer plays like a Melee Assassin: she's maneuverable enough to chase down a target, exterminate them, and PowerWalk out while the bombs go off behind her. The skill she teaches, therefore, is to NeverSplitTheParty: fall back ''into'' your team, who can in best case blow her away in an instant, and at worst can at least reduce her uptime by scaring her off. This leads to better Tracers relying on her mobility for ''Melee'' and ''Pulse Bomb'' burst instead of trying to duel.

** At Level 7, Tracer gets 3 options around her ''Reload'' Trait, two of which have specific conditions, but deal far more damage than the first option of ''Slight of Hand''. ''Focus Fire'' causes the last round in the magazine to deal 35% of the entire magazine's potential damage if every round from it is fired at one target. Tracer is a highly mobile Ranged Assassin capable of zipping around the battlefield, dodging attacks and skillshots and escaping from sticky situations with ease. Her trait, ''Reload'', gives Tracer's Basic Attacks a LifeDrain effect and allows Tracer to attack enemies while moving, but her attacks cost ammo, which she must reload once it runs out. Her trait can also be activated to manually reload at any time. ''Blink'' forms the crux of Tracer's mobility, allowing her to teleport a short distance up to three times in quick succession. ''Melee'' strikes an enemy within arm's reach of Tracer and charges ''Pulse Bomb'' by a moderate amount. Finally, ''Recall'' sends Tracer two seconds back in time, resetting her position and removing all negative effects from her.\\

Within the Nexus, Zarya is classified as a tanky Support, and she is mostly unchanged from how she plays in Overwatch. Her trait is ''Energy'', which increases her overall damage by 2% for every 10 damage her barriers block, to a maximum of 200%, which slowly decays over time. Her first ability is ''Particle Grenade'', a skill with four charges that lobs a ball of exploding energy. Her second ability is ''Personal Barrier'', which surrounds Zarya with a damage-blocking shield temporarily, which charges her ''Energy''. Her third ability is ''Shield Ally'', which does the same for one of her allies.\\

Genji's first choice of Heroic ability is his ''Dragonblade''. Drawing his katana, Genji can reactivate the skill to dash a short distance while also cleaving in a wide area. While Dragonblade is active, Genji's basic attack and ''Shuriken'' are disabled. His second Heroic is ''X-Strike''. Genji slashes at the ground twice in a targeted area, damaging enemies he hits and leaving an X-shaped gash. Then, he slams down in the center, detonating the entire X for even greater damage.\\

* CloseRangeCombatant: Sort of downplayed. Genji is ranged and his ''Swift Strike'' also has a large range, but his attack range is shorter than most ranged heroes, ''Deflect''[='s=] CounterAttack has a short range and targets the closest enemy, and his ''Shuriken'' functions as a ShortRangeShotgun and deals far more single-target damage when upclose. As a result, Genji plays much like a Melee Assassin as he has to get up close and personal to deliver bursts of damage and finish off weakened enemies, albeit one with the ability to poke from range.

The scion of the Shimada clan and Genji's elder brother. Hanzo was trained strictly to inherit his family's criminal empire and rule it together with his brother, dutifully training himself for his family. When Genji refused to have anything to do with the criminal deeds, Hanzo was given the order by the clan elders to set him straight, but it resulted in a fatal duel where Hanzo fatally wounded Genji. Wracked with guilt and shame, Hanzo left his would-be empire and lived his life as a freelance hitman, continuing to master his combat skills and hoping to one day redeem himself. Hanzo is a Ranged Assassin adapt at poking enemies. His trait is ''Natural Agility'', which can be activated to jump a long distance, but can only be used if he vaults over unpathable terrain. His first basic ability is ''Storm Bow''. Hanzo draws his bow, slowly increasing the range of an arrow up to a cap. The arrow strikes the first enemy in its path. Hanzo can move while charging. His second ability, ''Scatter Arrow'', fires a specialized arrow that bursts into a fan of five arrows if it hits a structure or unpathable terrain; each arrow deals damage to the first enemy non-structure it hits. His final basic ability is ''Sonic Arrow'', an arrow that lands in the targeted area after a short delay, sticking in the ground or onto any enemy it hits. The arrow provides vision in a wide area and reveals enemies inside for a few seconds.\\

As with in ''Overwatch'', Ana is a Healer focused on skillshot healing. Her trait is ''Shrike'', which causes her basic attacks to apply Doses, dealing damage over time and healing Ana, stacking up to 5 times. Her primary ability, ''Healing Dart'', fires a dart that heals the first ally it hits, and has a very low cooldown. Her second ability is ''Biotic Grenade'', which heals allies and damages enemies. Hit allies receive bonus healing from Ana for a few seconds and hit enemies have all healing briefly nullified. Her final ability is ''Sleep Dart'', which puts the first enemy hero it hits to sleep, preventing them from taking any actions. It lasts 3 seconds or until the sleeping target takes damage. She can also activate her trait key to toggle ''Aim Down Sights'' on and off, which increases the range of ''Healing Dart'' and ''Sleep Dart'' and allows them to pierce one target, but greatly lowers her movement speed.\\

Within the Nexus, Lúcio is classified as a Healer, with a kit mostly unchanged from Overwatch. His trait is ''Push Off'', which can be activated to let him dash off a wall, slowing and damaging enemies he passes through. His basic skills are ''Soundwave'', which deals damage to enemies in a cone-shaped area and knocks them back, ''Crossfade'', switching between one of two tracks to buff his allies in a wide area, providing either a ''Healing Boost'' which grants gradual healing or a ''Speed Boost'' which grants increased movement speed, and ''Amp It Up'', which amplifies his ''Healing Boost'' and ''Speed Boost'' for 3 seconds.\\

Meganekko is no longer a trope. It's a Fanspeak term. Moving wicks to Bespectacled Cutie when appropriate.

Why Wont You Die is a Stock Phrase, Chained Sinkholes, and gendered redirect (which How To Write An Example reveals is allowed).

* WhyWontYouDie: He rivals Tracer in terms of slipperiness. With a trait that lets him leap over walls, an extremely fast and long-ranged dash, and an ability that makes him immune to damage, he's exceptionally hard to lock down.

* WhyWontYouDie: Potentially, with a touch of {{Troll}}ing. D.Va can use ''Self Destruct'' just as her mech is about to be destroyed, and use ''Call Mech'' just as she's about to die in ''Pilot Mode''. When timed well, D.Va can easily lead the enemy team on a wild goose chase, resulting in them doing damage to her without any reward to show for it.

Gradual Grinder is being merged to Damage Over Time, cut for misuse

* GradualGrinder: Genji's attacks and abilities don't deal a huge amount of damage per hit, but Genji's slipperiness and sheer volume of attacks mean that they quickly start to add up.

* GradualGrinder: Due to her DeathOfAThousandCuts, Tracer's basic attacks are designed to wear down her target. However, without a hero who could support her extremely low health pool like Abathur or pre-rework Tassadar, Tracer was too squishy to fulfill her function as a GradualGrinder. To amend this, she was given a reworked LifeDrain version of a talent baseline, her Level 16 Basic Attack talents were moved to Level 7, and she now has access to shields with her rework in 2020.

* GradualGrinder: Ana's basic attacks deal fairly low damage, and a single Dose from her trait doesn't do all that much either. However, she has a respectably fast attack speed which allows her to quickly stack Doses and chip away at enemies over time.

Additionally, ''Swift Strike'' is his main source of damage, and is a DashAttack which can easily leave him overextended.

As a result, Genji plays much like a Melee Assassin as he has to get up close and personal to deliver bursts of damage and finish off weakened enemies, albeit one with the ability to poke from range.

* DifficultButAwesome: Genji has low HP values, low burst damage, and can be taken out easily if pinned down, but when played well, Genji becomes a highly mobile Assassin capable of poking, harassing, and killing low-health heroes and using his mobility to get out of harm's way. His Heroics also count: ''Dragonblade'' disables Genji's basic attacks and ''Shuriken'' while active, restricting him to melee range, and doesn't kill quite as quickly as it did in ''Overwatch''; meanwhile, ''X-Strike'' has a very narrow area of effect and a delay before dealing the bulk of its damage. However, both Heroics can deal massive damage if used well.
* DoubleJump: Played with. While he obviously can't actually double jump in Heroes, one of his mid-game talents is named Double Jump, which enables him to have two charges of his ''Cybernetic Agility'' trait.

* DifficultButAwesome: As detailed in MageMarksman, he's immobile and squishy; he's a LongRangeFighter who requires babysitting. Additionally, his ''Storm Bow'' is a Hold-type ChargedAttack, his ''Scatter Arrow'' requires precise aim to do maximum damage, and his ''Sonic Arrow'' doesn't actually ''do'' very much damage. But when you land all of them properly, he can annihilate just about anyone, and often at very long range as well.

* AwesomeButImpractical: ''Rocket Ride'' ultimately comes with too many drawbacks, which is why it sports a far lower pick- and winrate compared to ''RIP-Tire''. The range for the rocket is too short, which means a GlassCannon like Junkrat needs to come closer to use it. It has a long wind-up time, is slow and telegraphed, which allows enemies many ways to avoid it. Worst of all, it takes Junkrat out of the map for at least 9 seconds until he respawns, and then he still has to make it back to his team.

Within the Nexus, D.Va is a stance-based Bruiser. Her trait is ''Mech Mode'' and ''Pilot Mode''. She rides her mech by default, which has the additional trait ''Fusion Cannons'', which allows her to attack in an area in front of her while moving and deal bonus damage in melee range, but reduces her speed while attacking and channeling abilities. On death, she pops out of her mech, gaining a new skillset and a ranged pistol, but very low health. Each form is only worth half of a kill.
* In ''Mech Mode'', her basic abilities are ''Boosters'', which grants a short speed boost, damaging and knocking back enemies the first time they're hit; ''Defense Matrix'', generating a field in front of her that reduces enemy damage which can be aimed in a new location by reactivating the skill, and ''Self Destruct'', jumping out of her mech, which then explodes for massive damage after a few seconds. Instead of having a cooldown, ''Self Destruct'' charges up when D.Va deals or takes damage.

Both of her Heroics can only be used in ''Mech Mode''. Her first Heroic is ''Bunny Hop''. D.Va's mech begins hopping up and down, dealing damage in an area around it. Every fourth hit against the same hero will stun them. Her other heroic is ''Micro Missiles'', an ability with two charges that unleashes a barrage of missiles in an area in front of D.Va, slowing enemies they hit. D.Va can move during the cast, but not change the direction she's facing.\\
