* YourDaysAreNumbered: The fic starts shortly after the Fifth Holy Grail War. Illya is still alive, but as a homunculus designed solely for the War, she doesn't have much longer. Part of the reason that Shirou lets her drag him into ''Sword Art Online'' (and they are subsequently trapped with everyone else) is that he is willing to indulge her whims since she doesn't have much time left. When Illya discovers a secret she shouldn't, Kayaba himself contacts her and offers to try to extend her lifespan if she works with him. She doesn't really believe he can do it, but she agrees anyway.

* LightIsNotGood: Rosalia has the [Rare Element] of Light. Since she's a criminal and a pragmatist, she found the idea of becoming some sort of holy crusader absurd at best, and didn't even tell her own allies about it. Illya explains to her (after [[GotVolunteered forcibly recruiting her]]) that it's about ''literal'' light. The first trick she learns is creating essentially remote cameras that she can link her sight to.

* FairPlayVillain: His game is ''shockingly'' fair, with a reasonable attempt made to have something fun for everyone. He also doesn't punish Illya for contacting the outside, admitting that he hadn't actually made a rule that she wasn't allowed to do that.

* TheStoic: When talking with him, Illya notes that he's so stiff and emotionless he doesn't even seem human. It's only rarely that he shows a bit of exasperation or passion towards magic. [[spoiler:This made it easy for him to pretend to be an NPC to teach Kirito Numerology.]]

** Sacchi understood the [Sympathy Principle] of [Numerology] right off the bat.

* ManaDrain: Sacchi learned how to transfer Mana to and from her guildmates. It's effectiveness is raised while they are under the effects of [[[ProtectiveCharm Key of the Guild]]].
* ProjectileSpell: Kirito taught her the [Magic Missile] spell, but her reserves were higher than his so the shots come out the size of basketballs.
* ProtectiveCharm: Kirito taught her a spell, [Key of the Guild], which allows her to link up her guildmates and provide them spiritual protection by drawing numbers on their faces that corresponded to the number their names add up to using [Numerology] from those who were unaware of the numbers' significance.
* SuperpowerLottery: She has one of the highest mana reserves in the game.

* SwordBeam: Sacchi gets a sword made by Shirou that is named Spirit Cutter by Kirito which allows her to use Kirito's [Linker Beam].

* UnSorcerer: Argo can use the [Generate Od] spell, but she doesn't have any circuits, meaning she can't gather prana to use as a spell. [[spoiler:Fortunately for her, Shirou helps her get around this by teaching her how to [Make One].]]

** Second, Ilya discovers that players who die in the game aren't dying in the real world. This is an important secret, as Kayaba needs players to genuinely believe they could die. He also warns her not to mistake it for mercy. [[spoiler:He uses them to test new game features, and if they refuse to cooperate (even after Yui tries to talk to them), they are moved into direct soul experimentation]]. Rosaline also notes that the outside world is going to be much less desperate to break into the game if, from their perspective, no one else is dying.

* ArrowCatch: He mentions off-hand that he did this to the Black Cats in 15.3 and followed up with an EyeScream. But they were in a safe-zone, so no harm no foul.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: In addition to Shirou's max levelled Structural Grasp, a single spar with someone is all the information he needs to forge them their perfect weapon.

* SwordBeam: Has learned how to do so by 15.3 and calls the spell [[[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda Linker Beam]]].

* DarkIsNotEvil: Leviathan's sword had blood added to the molten metal and was quenched in blood. Ordinarily such a process would create a heavily cursed weapon, but because all of the blood was created and willingly given by Leviathan it is only dark.

A High-School Senior who holds a position in his Kendo club, he is frequently seen around Itagaki and Hexadecimal. He is a two-handed sword user.

* HeroesPreferSwords: As a former Kendo-ka.

A High-School girl who was a casual gamer before being trapped in the game, she was uses polearm weapons as they match her skill as captain of her school's Naginata club.

* BladeOnAStick: Uses polearms as weapons.

* BladeOnAStick: He fights using a spear. Shirou later makes him one that has a split blade to better help use his magecraft.

* BladeOnAStick: He fights with a spear. He later gets one from Shirou that has three blades on it, allowing him to use all three of his elements at once in an attack.

* BladeOnAStick: Wields a Halberd in combat. Shirou eventually forges her one entirely composed of Noble metals, primarily Iridium, Osmium, and Platinum, that's so heavy that it can only properly function as a weapon through the use of Lind's gravity manipulating magecraft.

* MagneticHero: Acknowledge by many as one of the most charismatic heroes in the game.

* ReforgedBlade: Every time he uses the [Phoenix Sword] it ends up broken, but he reforges it himself to continue to do it.

** Shirou suspects Sacchi has potential to be far more powerful, but that her timid nature is holding her back.

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Shirou's better than her when it comes to making swords and it kinda grates on her because he constantly breaks them down to do it over each time.

* AdaptationalPersonalityChange: The Grimlock from canon was a coward at heart, and was too afraid of death to play the game. Here, he is an active and useful member of the Mid Line guild. This is due to being a Magus in real life, meaning he is used to facing death in the face as it is a normal thing to do as a Magus.

* StepfordSmiler: He wants to support his wife despite his reluctance in delving into Magecraft or playing along with Kayaba's scenario. The reason is that he's actually a Magus and is worried the Association will eliminate everyone involved. However, he may not actually apply for this trope, because he seems to genuinely love his wife and co. So while the ''smile'' may not be a lie, it IS hiding something.

* NonActionGuy: He is not an active player, but he does help take care of Retired Players, giving more emotional aid to those who need it the most.
