** Regards the victims of Team Rocket's horrible experiments as abominations that need to be wiped out in order to 'cleanse the worlds'.
** This effectively destroyed his relationship with his Blessed Hybrid Ubume. Not only did he refuse to resurrect [[spoiler:her unborn child]] no matter how she pleaded, but he told her that she'd never be [[TogetherInDeath reunited with them]], either!
* VocalDissonance: To his followers, Ho-Oh's cries are considered melodious. For those who can understand Pokespeak, he sounds like Creator/GilbertGottfried.

* AgeLift: Started her journey when she was around 18-19. This wasn't by choice; Norman deliberately did everything he could to delay her getting her first pokemon, since he didn't want her to become a trainer.
* AntiHero: Stubborn, cocky, quick to anger and slow to forgive. The latter is particularly clear in how she treats Maxie after the Seafloor Cavern; refusing to accept his apology is one thing, but [[ItIsDehumanizing dehumanizing]] and [[spoiler:actively trying to kill him through his link with Groudon]]?
* BreakTheHaughty:
** Her attitude as she headed to the Seafloor Cavern was almost suicidially overconfident, to the point she had her cell's camera running so she could record her victory over Maxie. Things don't go the way she expected, leading to a few stress-induced breakdowns afterwards.
** The aftermath of the Delta Episode is even worse, when she discovers how quickly most of Hoenn turns upon their former Champion.
* HalfHumanHybrid: Using the Green Orb makes her half-Rayquaza.
* HowDoIShotWeb: The fact that she can't automatically ''fly'' after her transformation is a huge sticking point with Kiera, and one of her bitterest complaints about the whole mess.
* ItsUpToYou: {{Deconstructed}}, as Kiera comes to resent how it felt like everyone in Hoenn kept expecting her to solve their problems for them. This only got worse with how her heroism during the Delta Episode was '[[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished rewarded]]'.
* LegacyCharacter: Bandit, her second Sceptile, takes her mother Rogue's position in the party after Rogue is nearly killed defending Kiera in the Seafloor Cavern.
* NotSoDifferent: Much like her father, she's stubborn, holds a grudge like nobody's business, and can be incredibly cruel.
** NotSoSimilar: Fortunately, ''unlike'' her father, she's eventually able to recognize those hateful similarities and works to better herself. She doesn't want to follow in his footsteps, after all.
* ParentalIssues: Having [[ControlFreak Norman]] for a father hasn't done her many favors.
* [[AnimalsHateHim Pokemon Hate Her]]: After her transformation, most of her old team turns on her. She's only able to keep Bandit at first, and later reconnects with Storm.

The leader of Team Magma. As this 'verse follows the events of ''Omega Ruby'', his team rose to power... though he came to regret this. Deeply.
* BreakTheHaughty: Attempting to use the Red Orb to control Groudon sets off a TraumaCongaLine.
* HalfHumanHybrid: The Red Orb forcibly mutates him into a half-Groudon hybrid.
* HorrorHunger: Groudon's teeth aren't just for show. Maxie finds himself dealing with cravings for raw, fresh meat, and his attempts to ignore this end poorly.
** EatDirtCheap: He's also able to eat rocks.
* ItIsDehumanizing: Kiera uses this on him after Seafloor Cavern, which he accepts.
* KarmicTransformation: Believes that his transformation is proper punishment for his actions.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: After everything that happens at the Seafloor Cavern.
* [[AnimalsHateHim Pokemon Hate Him]]: Has all of his pokemon turn on him after his transformation, save for Camerupt.
* SilentScapegoat: Accepts any and all blame for the consquences of his actions, as well as plenty of blame for things that weren't actually his fault.
* WhatHaveIBecome: Has the hardest time accepting and adapting to his transformation.

The head of Team Aqua.
* CursedWithAwesome: Actually takes his transformation remarkably well, all considered.
* EmergencyTransformation: Using the Blue Orb actually saved his life. Maxie had torn him up pretty good before Kiera showed up, and the mutation helps heal his wounds.
* HalfHumanHybrid: The Blue Orb makes him part Kyogre.
* HeroicSacrifice: Upon seeing that Kiera has the Blue Orb, Archie convinces her to let him use it instead, so that she doesn't have to risk her humanity to fix their mistakes. This directly leads to his own transformation into a half-Kyogre hybrid.
** SenselessSacrifice: [[DramaticIrony Ironically]], since the Blue Orb had accepted Kiera, she had a much lower chance of getting mutated by it. What's more, she winds up becoming a ''different'' kind of hybrid instead later on.
* MoreExpendableThanYou: Part of how he convinced Kiera to let him use the Blue Orb instead.
* [[AnimalsHateHim Pokemon Hate Him]]: Of his whole team, only Sharpedo sticks around after his transformation.

* WideEyedIdealist: Runs into issues with this at times. For instance, he naturally assumes that Norman is a [[GoodParents caring father]] just like his own dad and only wants what's best for Kiera, making him a good UnwittingPawn.

Kiera's father, head of the Littleroot Gym, and an Actual Leaky Trashbag. Has spent Kiera's whole life trying to control her, and wasn't too thrilled by her finally managing to start her journey.
* [[AbusiveParents Abusive Parent]]: Relies heavily on emotional and psychological abuse, constantly claiming that Kiera's incapable of taking care of herself. The only reason he doesn't use violence to keep her in line is the second time he tried it, she fought back.
* ControlFreak: It says a lot that he thinks the bright side of her becoming a HalfHumanHybrid is that it'd give him an ''excuse'' to keep her locked up.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: The only reason he was willing to let Kiera fight him for his badge in the first place was because as a Gym Leader, he's '''FORCED''' to accept all challengers. He didn't make it easy for her, and only begrudgingly handed over his badge when she won.
* ManipulativeBastard: Particularly after the Delta Episode, when he exploits the fear and FantasticRacism to turn most of Hoenn against the hybrids, including his own daughter.
* MyBelovedSmother: More concerned with dictating what his daughter ''can't'' do than figuring out what she ''can''.
* OverprotectiveDad: Didn't let his daughter do much dating of anyone he didn't approve of. It should be noted, however, that part of what he's looking for is somebody capable of 'keeping her in line'.

A woman chosen by Ho-Oh to recieve the legendary's blessing. However, she discovered the downsides of this too late, and they had a falling out.
* BlessedWithSuck: She thought being chosen by Ho-Oh was a blessing up until she learned that he wasn't [[LightIsNotGood as benevolent as she'd believed]].
* BrokenPedestal: Used to worship and admire Ho-Oh. Not anymore.

* HalfHumanHybrid: Half Ho-Oh.
* HumanMomNonHumanDad: Was part of a [[GenderInvertedTrope inversion]], having a fully human lover. [[spoiler:He didn't take learning
* InfantImmortality: Sadly {{Averted}}. Her child didn't even [[spoiler:get to be ''born'' before dying, and Ho-Oh refused to bring them back]].
* StartOfDarkness: Once a staunch follower of Ho-Oh, she was honored to bear his blessing. She also fell in love and became pregnant. [[spoiler:When she revealed her Blessed Forme to him, he promptly freaked out and murdered her. She revived; her unborn child didn't. Ho-Oh refused to bring them back to life, and also spelled out that they'd never be reunited in the afterlife.]]
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: One of her biggest gripes with Ho-Oh. It certainly doesn't help that [[spoiler:she learned this the hard way]].
