Froggy G is an hard-hitting assassin and initiator, who relies on his speed to make up for his incredibly low health. His basic attack is a short-ranged blast of water that's mostly used for clearing droids. His first ability is a Splash Dash that lets him pass through enemies, damaging and stunning them, while also making Froggy invincible. His second ability turns Froggy into a watery Tornado for a few seconds, doing damage to any enemies around him.\\

He was forced to use a robotic prosthetic with a built-in profanity filter. While rehabilitating, Rocket befriended a group of misfits in the Scargi court - Dizzy, Smiles, and Qi'Tara. However, the team were sentenced to jail for attempting to assassinate the Scargi emperor with salt, a substance deadly to the snail-like Scargi. In actuality, the salt was just for their fries. Before they could be apprehended, they each disappeared to separate corners of the galaxy. Now back for revenge, Rocket has gathered the team together again in the Awesomenauts.\\

The Scoop of Justice is sustain-based tank and initiator, capable of opening fights and closing them with hardly a scratch. His basic attack is a two-swing melee attack, alternating between a slash and a cleave. The slash has higher damage but less range, and the cleave has a small lifesteal attached and pierces enemies. His first ability launches a Frozen Hammer that damages and snares enemies, with the damage and snare duration increasing based on how far he threw it. His second ability, Binding of Justice, charges up, healing Scoop and damaging nearby enemies when its done.\\

Ix is a squishy, mobile, highly unique support and initiator. His basic attack launches a medium-range crystal that does average damage, alongside 3 smaller crystals in melee range. He can launch a Psionic Bond outwards. If it hits an Awesomenaut, he's bonded to them: healing over time if they're an ally and dealing damage if they're an enemy. The bond can be broken by moving too far away, and (if an enemy is connected) passing though a team wall. Ix can reactivate the skill to switch places with his bonded target. His other ability, Refract, makes him briefly invincible and CC immune, although it slows him down and prevents him from using his skills.\\

Voltar is a support, focused entirely on healing his teammates. After his jump, he can slow his decent by holding the jump button. His basic attack launches psychic orbs, which either heal allies or damage enemies. He is surrounded by several Suicide Drones, which fire lasers at nearby enemies. His first ability allows him to launch the drones one-by-one as damaging projectiles. His second ability creates a Healbot, which charges up for a few moments before releasing a healing burst to his allies, so long as the bot stayed alive.\\

* HerrDoktor: He's a legendary scientist and he speaks with a very heavy German-ish accent, occasionally lettting loose actual words such as "Wunderbar".

Outside of larger teamfights, Genji can still be a terror, pushing with his basic attack and keeping himself safe with Cocoon.\\

Ix is all about using his mobility and unique skillset to set up ganks. Psionic Bond combines the strengths of Mighty Throw, Tongue Snatch, and Cocoon, but obviously comes with a few downsides. It's easier to dodge and cancel than tongue, has a shorter duration than cocoon, and places Ix directly in the line of fire. Ix is squishy and doesn't deal much damage on his own. Thankfully, he can mitigate that with his incredible jump, great movement speed, and the brief invulnerability from Refract. He can also use Psionic Bond to pull allies out of danger, or buff them up and heal them.\\

Yoolip is a very team-reliant character, capable of amazing ganks but not on his own. He needs teammates around to capitalize on its effect. His dinos are used for lane pressure, forcing enemies out of position or harassing them, as well as chewing through droids. They can't be destroyed, so the enemy is always forced to dodge.\\

Voltar is the most team-dependent character in the game. He has very little ability to fight directly, and relies on teammates he can keep supported. That being said, when he's paired with the right team, he is a force to be reckoned with. His ability to keep allies topped off is unmatched, and his drones can contribute to poking, as well as a great finisher when an enemies is caught in an ally's [=CC=] effect.\\

Yuri requires a unique combination of map awareness and initiation skills in order to play to his most effective. While Mines can be stacked in one place, blasting an unfortunate enemy to bits instantly, doing so renders you [[TheLoad not much use to your team]]. Yuri is best flying around, placing mines in multiple high-traffic, hard-to-avoid spots and getting up close and personal with his mines for surprise damage. He can use his Time Warp to completely turn around teamfights, increasing his allies' attack speed while slowing his enemies down, or can use it to brawl, making hitting mines a breeze.\\

Notorious partners in crime and [=BFFs=], Vinnie is the hotheaded brains of the operation while Spike is the muscle and not much of a talker. They are wanted on multiple planets, including their homeplanet Okeanos where the Shishu crime family want them dead for stealing the Kullinan Koi, worth 4.8 billion Solar. Unfortunately, the duo lost the koi somehere in the Atlantic ocean.\\

The youngest of thirty siblings, Charles Swiggins graduated from Wet Point Academy with top honors, becoming Captain of his own ship, the "Sweet Homboldt". One day, the Homboldt chanced upon the dread Captain Inkbeard. After a furious battle reduced both ships to debris, the two captains faced off for a final showdown. Nearly overpowered, Swiggins grasped something from below the water, which happened to be the Homboldt's anchor, striking down his foe. For his bravery, he was appointed Admiral. This gruff tough-as-talons cop is the most feared vigilante in the galaxy, taking down Solar cartel gang bosses, Shishu mobsters, and alien psychopaths with his ravenous methods. His aggresive behaviour did earn him enemies however, as a corrupt galactic congressman forced Rocco out of a job. Rather than retire however, Rocco continued his work as a mercenary in the Awesomenauts.\\

In the heart of the Milky Way lives the Bovinions. An age-old custom among them was to scare their calves with stories of a cowboy boogeyman. As the story goes, naughty calves would be caught in his unrelenting lasso. One Bovinion decided to bring this story to life, genetically engineering a cowboy and opening a park where visitors could see him in action. However, disaster struck when the cowboy escaped, and began wrangling every Bovinion on the planet! Once the entire civilzation had been wrangled from their cities to the pastures, the cowboy - calling himself Lonestar - rode a rocket ship into the sunset, where he soon found a job with the Awesomenauts.\\

His machine gun is best for pushing turrets and opening fights, since it's DPS is high and has decent range. His shotgun is better for finishing enemies and clearing, since it deals high damage, hits in an area, and has limited uses before needing to reload. Airstrike needs to be shot where an enemy is not only going, but may have to go. Timing its launch to cover certain pathways and block healthpacks and such is important to aiming it correctly. Stimpack is decent with shotgun, granting the otherwise slow weapon some insane speed, but it really shines with machine gun. A stim'd machine gun can rapidly push turrets and DPS down tanks at range.\\

When the enemy does get up close, her blaster is perfectly competent, if not a little underwhelming. Throughout the game, she serves a combat support, laying on damage from relative safety and strategically blocking paths with her rift to turn teamfights around.\\

Like all harassers, Skree is capable of poking enemies out of lane and quickly clearing droids. Unlike most harassers, Skree's Sawblade is actually a very potent finisher. In a clutch moment, it can also stop pursers, or trap enemies in place so his saw can deal maximum damage.\\

Clunk is THE tank class in Awesomenauts. He is both the slowest character in the game, and the one with highest health. On top of that, he has a decent sustain ability and a powerful, although tricky-to-land, burst. Learning Clunk involves mastering his Explode timer: how to catch enemies unaware, how to time it, how to keep enemies inside. Thankfully, he's backed up by his missiles, which deal significant damage in their own right, and are so slow moving that they act as area denial. With enough practice, Clunk can easily become an unstoppable rage machine.\\

Derpl is all about map awareness. Not only does it take some knowledge to place traps in spots enemies will walk into them, knowing where to siege up is an acquired skill. Siege leaves him as a sitting duck, and even though Derpl has high health, he lacks the damage mitigation seen on other tanks. Thankfully, while he can't actually move in siege, he can still drop through glass platforms, making areas with multiple platforms in a line excellent spots to set up.\\

Sentry X-58 is a support tank, focused on blocking damage, kiting enemies, and locking opponents down with his black hole. His basic attack fires slow-loading photon mines that stay floating in the air for a few seconds if they don't hit anything, allowing him to build makeshift walls. His first ability gives Sentry a damage-collecting shield on its first use, which can then be be launched as a Black Hole Sun that pulls enemies towards it and explodes for the damage collected. His second ability places an indestructible Teleport Beacon at his current location, to which Sentry can teleport to at any time (provided he hasn't taken any damage for two seconds).\\

Sentry boasts incredible map presence, crowd control, and area denial, but doesn't deal much damage on his own, or even have much health while his shield is down. He heavily relies on his teammates following up on his black holes and assisting in teleport ganks. He's also notably countered by 'Nauts with dashes, who can avoid his black hole trivially, and 'Nauts with damage over time effects, who barely power-up his BHS and shut down his teleport. However, with enough teamwork and the right timing, Sentry is a serious force to be reckoned with.\\

However, using it relies on not getting hit, as any damage will tear his squishy frog body apart. He's especially weak to most forms of crowd control, which sap his survival tool, leaving him wide open. However, a well played Froggy is a constant threat, able to open engagements or finish them, then slink away without taking a scratch of damage.\\

Her entire purpose is picking of weaklings and stragglers, and her ability to fight more than one enemy is severely lacking. Although not the most difficult character in the game, playing them involves learning their range and how far they can safely extend for a kill. Their movement is also a curse however, as their vertical speed is surprisingly poor, and any [=CCs=] will cripple them.\\

Good timing is needed however, as Vengeance has a very poor base duration (requiring the thick of a fight to have any meaningful up time) and also has the single longest cooldown in the game.\\

Skølldir's most important skill is landing his auto-attack, especially the third hit. Knowing the animations and timing his punches correctly is key. Beyond that, he can abuse his Mighty Throw in the early game by sending an enemy to his turret, and later on can use it to separate the enemy team and let his team gang-up, or simply toss a fleeing enemy so he can continue to wail on them. His Earthquake is also a decent poke, and can be upgraded to snare enemies later on, making it another powerful initiation.\\

Ted requires good timing and map awareness to make work. He has low speed and his best burst is easily dodged if you don't aim it well. His machine gun is best for pushing turrets and opening fights, since it's DPS is high and has decent range. His shotgun is better for finishing enemies and clearing, since it deals high damage, hits in an area, and has limited uses before needing to reload. Airstrike needs to be shot where an enemy is not only going, but may have to go. Timing it's launch to cover certain pathways and block healthpacks and such is important to aiming it correctly. Stimpack is decent with shotgun, granting the otherwise slow weapon some insane speed, but it really shines with machine gun. A stim'd machine gun can rapidly push turrets and DPS down tanks at range.\\
