* RootingForTheEmpire - Sort of. While you hope for the best for the main characters, despite them supporting Zeon, you can't really support the empire they are fighting for due to how badly they treat their own soldiers.

* FlawedPrototype - Most of the prototypes that appear in ''MS IGLOO 1'' are AwesomeButImpractical and were used as mere propaganda: the Jormungand is an outdated and useless cannon, the Hildolfr is tank that was already marked as a failure, the Zudah breaks apart if its thrusters are used at high output, the Oggo is just a worker pod outfitted with weapons (very much like the Ball).

** The original Gundam does appear very briefly in the form of a video feed recovered from a dead Zeon suit. It can basically be summed up as "This is what it's like to be killed by [[TheDragon Amuro Ray]]."

* FragileSpeedster - Surprisingly applied to the gigantic Zaku's when fighting against Federation infantry/Tanks in gravity front. In general, the Average Zaku is shown to be VERY vulnerable to infantry deployed guided missiles and Type 61's cannon fire. Provided the rounds hit of course. Fortunately even Mook Zaku's seem capable [[DodgeTheBullet doding cannon fire]]. Also overlaps with GlassCannon, since the Zaku's also have a tremendous firepower advantage over the tanks with their Machine guns and giant Bazooka's.

** YMMV may vary on this one. The Jormungand could very well be awesome as long as it was used as a spaceborne sniper rifle, ExplosiveOverclocking wasn't necessary for the Zudah to stay competitive with the Federation Mobile Suits, the Oggo was good enough for whatever it was supposed to do. The Hildolfr was a major wall-banger though; ONE of those tanks took out 6-7 Zakus plus two tanks by itself while being piloted by a dope addict. Why didn't they make more of these things?
*** Bureaucracy and competition. The Zudah and the Hildolfr were good units, but their problem is they were not made by the Zeonic Company, who more or less had a monopoly on mobile weapons production within the Principality. Remember, how in the first season, Zimmad tried to revive the Zudah? It ended with propaganda that thrashed it and ended all support for its use.
*** The Jormungand, however, really was useless, even when they ''were'' trying to use it like a spaceborne rifle. The problem was that its targeting computer becomes incredibly unreliable when the battlefield becomes saturated with combat-density Minovsky Particles, and their first shot ended up not hitting anything. They sent a shuttle to aid its targeting, but it's an unarmed shuttle that's slower than a Zaku, which can take out several ships in the space of time it takes the cannon to charge, so it's really a lost cause by then.
*** Don't forget about the Z'Gok and Big Rang in part 2: The first being an impossible machine to use unless the pilot is TheAce or has ImprobableAimingSkills and the second being (arguably) a Nerf of the Bigro.
*** The Big Rang wasn't meant to be any sort of new combat unit as it really was just a Bigro with that weapon platform attached to its ass. It was meant to be a support platform for the Oggos, but judging by how the defense went, it would've been better if they just fielded more Bigros instead.
*** Considering how much damage Oliver May did in it (and remember, May wasn't even an ace pilot), the Big Rang overall proved MORE effective than the Bigros. Just saying.
