Typical destinations of dead links are HTTP 404 ("Not Found") or 403 ("Forbidden") errors, a "This video is unavailable because it is private/the account associated with it has been taken down due to copyright strikes" (for Website/YouTube links), or a generic search engine-type page proclaiming, "This domain is up for sale!" In the worst cases, these links might redirect you to shady websites that disable your browser's "back" button and try to download malware.
