Seems like a good idea. I don't really see any problem with it. I'd like to hear it from other tropers though.
I'm a grim bloody fable with an unhappy bloody endObviously the passing of Soldier's VA fits under tearjerker. But considering the running gag that Soldier always dies in the Meet The Team videos, would it also fall under Black Comedy or Unfortunate Implications?
Is there a particular reason Vader Breath (for that moment in "Meet the Pyro") hasn't been added to this page (seeing how this one is linked on the trope's page)? Or have people just not remembered to add it?
Edited by SimplyNate Hide / Show RepliesHas anyone started adding info on the new update and expiration date? I'm not really able to edit easily on mobile, just thought I'd bring it up.
I missed the part where that's my problem. Hide / Show RepliesClarify the question, please?

There's speculation of a new update, and a new ARG.
I don't know if it's gone or what, but a while ago there was this really cool Fanfic and sequel told in the First Person of the RED Spy. The medic was addicted to chocolate, the scout hit people in the head with his bat. And there was this really big Conspiracy thing. It used to be on Fanfiction.net. If anyone knows what it was called so I can dig through backlogs to find it, that'd be great.
Maybe it's just on my end, but I can't seem to see the 'Main' button up amongst the other buttons when i'm on any of the sub-pages. Is that normal?
Hide / Show RepliesYes. The "main" button only shows up when there's a page in the Main/ namespace, e.g. a redirect from Main/ to Videogame/. Here, there is no redirect, so there's nothing in Main/ and no "main" button.
To get back to the central videogame page from the subpages, find the "videogame" link in the subpage list on the left column of the wiki page.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. Why is the main page locked instead of being a redirect to the videogame namespace?
Hide / Show RepliesUnneeded Main/ redirects are being cut to encourage people not to use them.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. This may just be me, but I feel like Mann Vs. Machine is closer to Tower Defense than The War Sequence.
Hide / Show RepliesTower Defense involves, ya know, a variety of Towers that the players can set up and manage. Two kinds of Sentries (which only certain players can deploy) just isn't enough for that trope
Technically MvM is Hold the Line, but Attack/Defend already potholed to that trope, so I was left with The War Sequence as the closest approximation
Out of curiosity, why is TF2's Tear Jerker page locked?
Hide / Show RepliesYou can ask in Wiki Talk for an unlock.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think it's locked because the only examples would be from fan-made material.
I'm not entirely sure where to place it, or if it's even warranted, but TF 2 (well, the TF 2 Team's post announcing the Pyromania update) provides the page quote for Men Without Hats
Unlikely that updates will ever come to PS 3. EA owns the rights to it, and the only update it's gotten in the 4 years it's been out is a single patch that was released in 2008. Remove the statement?
Well, I am just fresh from relocating ALL Team Fortress 2 wicks to the VideoGame/ namespace. I'm wondering what to do about the nine others which are either "invisible" or found in locked pages...
I now go by Graf von Tirol. Hide / Show RepliesDon't like the implications that the fans who enjoy shipping don't play the game- I've seen female fans who have several hundred hours logged on TF 2 and play at near-competitive levels who still proceed to ship the characters together.

- Crowning Moment Of Awesome: Near the end of the new Engineer Comic. Engi's been his usual friendly, quiet self up until he is physically threatened, at which point he calmly dishes out the largest amount of badassery yet seen in the canon, in a single sentence:
Engineer: I appreciate that you're my employer, and an old man besides... but if you don't take your goddamn hands off me I will break you in HALF.
So threatening the elderly is cool now?
i will immediately pay you with cash in full at whatistheexcel.comAn unlikable, immortal corporate scumbag who as electrocuting him? Its defensible.
The fanbase isn't just broken- It been downright cut in half with a ubersaw, then covered in jarate.
There's also an apple with a bite taken out of it on the tree beforehand, plus "Jobbs' Orchards". It's a subtle nod to both OS'es.
“Dude, sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something!” - Jake the DogHey, guys! According to this Wikipedia article, a flamethrower with propane has a very limited range.
Could that make Pyro's short-range flamethrowers a Justified Trope? After all, two out of three of them actually have propane tanks...
Do we seriously need the Audience tab any more now that we have a Trivia and a YMMV namespace?
Hide / Show RepliesCan I politely ask who removed the mention of the Troper servers why they did it? The old games had a mention on the page and nobody removed that.
Maybe I'm biased because I pay for the servers.
Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.So...uh...is the free version worth it, despite the drawbacks?
Shamelessly plugging my comics, Oh yes. Hide / Show RepliesThe free version doesn't have any "drawbacks", per se - it's pretty much the same as the retail version. There are a grand total of five differences:
- Free has 50 backpack slots to start with, Paid has 300.
- Free will only drop "standard" items (i.e., achievement weapons and common drops), Paid drops the rarer items too.
- Free has limited blueprint access for crafting items (though I'm not sure if the limit is X number of blueprints, Y classes of items, or a mix of both).
- Free accounts can only receive items (so you can't send someone a gift or exchange items in trades).
As the official FAQ ( http://www.teamfortress.com/freetoplay/faq.php ) says:
"EVERYTHING ELSE IS EXACTLY THE SAME!"
(By the by, I suspect that the Allegedly Free Game trope is being misused here - they're generally "free to play, pay to win". The free version of TF 2 can be won without shelling out money, providing you define "winning" as "kicking the other team's ass", and not "unlocking every single map and character and getting every single item" - especially as the former is impossible, since they're all already present.)

- Confusion Fu: The Spy's primary power lies in his disguises and cloak, which lets him perform some nasty tricks.
- Also one of the primary uses for the Scout's "Bonk! Atomic Punch" drink, distracting enemy players or sentries.

The fact that just "Team Fortress" redirects to this page Just Bugs Me. Someone needs to make an article for the original mod for Quake.
Medium Awareness/Leaning on the Fourth Wall should we add a separate page for this? There's at least 100 examples I've been able to find on the TF 2 wiki just from quotes, and all three of these tropes are conspicuously missing from both the main trope pages and the quotes page, despite basically every single domination line being an example of one of the three. Adding it as a separate page would also help with people who come here first instead of the awkwardly named tf2wiki.net when looking for quotes (as I did when I realized this missing bit of content)
