openDeleting YMMV Videogame
Alley Oop has a tendency to delete YMMV tropes from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed if they personally disagree with them. I'd hash it out elsewhere but they gave an edit reason that raised an eyebrow.
I don't remember there being a rule about not troping audience reactions allegedly from a specific part of a fanbase. Am I right in thinking that's not the case?
Edited by PresidentBritopenFemale protagonist from P3P Videogame
So I was on the Persona 3 YMMV section and came across this entry, edited by Key Will Jay:
- The female main character herself is rather divisive. Some love her inclusion for providing an interesting "what if" scenario (and with the main theme of Portable being the butterfly effect, this also fits) and for her personality contrasting with the male main character while still keeping the "masking feelings" theme. They may also like how some of the less interesting Social Links get replaced with S.E.E.S. members. Others see her as unnecessary and believe she ruins the game's themes of overcoming despair and accepting death with said alternate scenario and personality, and dislike how SEES is made obviously friendlier in her route (a criticism fans of older titles sometimes level at newer titles in general). The memes and exposure surrounding her also induce Hype Backlash for non-fans and those that have played the console version but do not try Portable, calling her overrated. It was bad enough that when an alleged lead regarding a theoretical remake mentioned cutting out Portable content (which turned to be reality per the reveal of Reload), the fanbase split between those calling it a worst-case scenario and those celebrating the removal.
I’m not as active in the fandom but do people really fight over the female protagonist? Because I’ve never seen much divide over her. In fact, I’ve only seen people express their disappointment of her being excluded from Reload.
Edited by Superdude96openCookie Clicker Characters Videogame
there is at least two characters in cookie clicker that are not NPC,and those are the Baker (it has no name or face...maybe)and the Grandmatriarchs. should i make a characters tag for them?
openEdit War Videogame
Back in January I touched up Extremis Ultimis, including commenting out a ZCE. Today, Infamous Empire uncommented the ZCE without expanding it. I sent them a ZCE notifier, but I cannot comment out the ZCE again (because that would be an Edit War) nor can I expand it (I am not familiar with the mod in question).
openWhy Vivienne from Dragon Age Inquisition doesn´t count as a Defrosting Ice Queen? Videogame
Even as a downplayed version, since we can be her friend. Also, I found interesting that Sugar and Ice personality was added in that trope page and with Vivienne as a exemple. Do you think writting that trope on her page in DAI makes sense?
Edited by TabsopenAssPull example re-added without discussion Videogame
I originally had brought the example of Ass Pull on YMMV.Star Wars Jedi Survivor regarding Bode being a traitor and his true nature up on the "Is This An Example" thread, pointing out that it had extensive foreshadowing listed on the main page. So it was decided to be removed.
Now, Chris116 is has re-added it without discussion, saying that only his identity as a former Jedi is the Ass Pull, when the foreshadowing entries also mentioned the hints in the story for this as well.
I don't want to incur in an edit war so I'm bringing this in here.
Edited by matruzresolved An Unorthodox Name Videogame
The work in question is made of two words, the first one is lowercase, the second is uppercase, and they are joined by a ❖ symbol. How would I go about naming this? The name in question is neon❖Knights
Edited by AwkbutTVTopenMove to Video Game namespace? Videogame
I feel like BFDIA 5b should be in there, since I'm pretty sure "recap" is for episodes/chapters of a show or book of some sort. While this is an "episode" of a web series, it still feels a little out of place for me. Plus, there are only two wicks for that page on this wiki.
Edited by FirstnameIresolved Should an entry in a Subtext page be updated/removed if Word Of God confirms it's just 'text'? Videogame
Ok, SPECIFICALLY, this is regarding the Resident Evil: Code Veronica entry in Incest Subtext, cos of the Ashford twins (obviously). The subtext from Alfred's obsession with Alexia is the entire basis of his creepiness, and also Alexia to Alfred in her awakening FMV cutscene. But in the same year that Code Veronica was released, Shinji Mikami confirmed in a Famitsu interview that the Ashford twins had kissed just as their FMV intro with the dragonfly torture cuts off. So like, is the incest still subtext? If the producer/creator was telling the story from their perspective that the twins are behaving as twins in an incestuous relationship, is that still just subtext?
My general question is whether Word of God is enough to propel something that SEEMS heavily implied, to actually being told straight to the audience but the audience didn't realize it because the confirmation was deliberately kept off-screen?
Edited by ElementroaropenExplaining why an actor wasn't rehired Videogame
On the VideoGame.Persona 3 Reload page, I have twice had to edit the entry under Remake Cameo as other users have added the detail that Vic Mignogna wasn't rehired due to the allegations made against him whilst linking to Role-Ending Misdemeanor.
Obviously, Role-Ending Misdemeanor is Trivia and doesn't belong on the page. For the time being I have removed note of the allegations due to a lack of relevancy to the project - is that the right course of action, or is it fair to leave the explanation without linking to the trope?
resolved LEGO DC Super-Villains (Headscratchers) Videogame
I do not know if I am doing this in the right section of the site, but there is something that has puzzled me only recently. According to the plot of the game, the Rookie got the abilities of Amazo, an android that is able to copy superpowers. I know it's a game, but still, how? How could the Rookie get Amazo's abilities, given the fact that Amazo is an android, and the Rookie is an ordinary person.
openPermission to remove links Videogame
On Characters.Trails Series Calvard Arkride Solutions Office, there are a few external links that I feel ate unneeded. Here they are below (bolded)
- Delinquent: His page on Daybreak's official website describes him as the de-facto leader of aggressive youths.
- Her Grimcats costume is mostly transparent and seems to be designed to show off how buxom her chest really is◊.
For the former, the website in question is Japanese and I feel like many people visiting the page wouldn't understand (discounting Google translate). The second (imo) kinda feels lewdish because it links to a pic to a fanservicey shot of a woman's chest.
However, they might add to some context so I want to ask before doing anything with them.
resolved Excessively Long Quotes Videogame
I originally brought up my concerns with Quotes.Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers in General Page Quote Discussion, but quickly figured that might not have been the right thread for it. Hence I'm taking it to ATT instead since I don't recall a thread specifically for Quotes pages.
The issue is that the Story Quotes folder has quotes that are excessively long. The very first quote is pretty much the entire transcript for the scene where the Hero disappears. The other three are huge paragraphs, each one a borderline Wall of Text.
Surely quotes of that length are overwhelming to the reader? To what extend should they be condensed? Or should they be cut and replaced with more succinct quotes?
openAre these examples really correct? Videogame
I found these Ice Magic Is Water wicks on Characters.Trails Series
Characters.Trails Series Crow Armbrust
- Ice Magic Is Water: His secondary element is water and his Freezing Bullet Craft in the first game had him fire a round that triggered an ice explosion for magic damage.
Characters.Trails Series Crossbell Special Support Section (Tio)
- Ice Magic Is Water: Her primary element is water and her Absolute Zero Craft and Ether Debuster S-Craft has her transform her Orbal Staff into a Chainsaw-Grip BFG and release an icy explosion to inflict magic damage.
Characters.Trails Series Erebonia Ironblood (Claire)
- Ice Magic Is Water: Her primary element is water and her Frigid Rain Craft has her conjuring and shooting a large block of ice to do magic damage.
Trails Series Erebonia Thors Class VII New (Musse)
- Ice Magic Is Water: Her primary element is water and her Brilliant Shot S-Craft has her encasing the enemy in a flower made of ice before firing a Reflecting Laser at them.
Trails Series Ouroboros (Vita)
- Ice Magic Is Water: Her secondary element is water and her Frozen Prison Craft has her encasing the enemy in ice to inflict magic damage.
For some context, each of the characters in the Trails Series have some starting elements (one primary one and one secondary one) in their orbal arts (the series' magic system) via whatever technology they have that can be freely customised if the player desire to. Meanwhile crafts are the characters special skills and some are magic based but freely independent of orbal stuff.
None of the examples listed above correlate that their crafts are water based (then turning to ice) but rather saying that they are tied to certain element and their crafts happen to be ice. Additionally, the orbal arts page of the wiki has some water arts that turn them into ice. So this is also more of a general thing rather than a character specific one.
However, I could be wrong so would more opinions on this.
openwhat exactly would u call this Videogame
the draenai from Wo W had a second subrace introduced called something like, i dunno, handsome draenai, and they were implicated to have always existed in the world when in previous versions of the game they were never present sort of under the idea that "oh they were always there, but you never noticed them" like something being put into a world atemporally?
openEndings Italicization Videogame
I've noticed that on The Stanley Parable, the endings are often italicized (ex: Confusion ending, Zending ending, etc.). I feel like this might not be correct since as far as I'm aware, only work titles should be italicized, not parts of works? What's the correct formatting?
openGenshin Impact YMMV getting long Videogame
When I was adding a little bit to the ymmv page for Genshin Impact, I noticed a suggestion box on the edit page. I am guessing it is time to look into making some more YMMV pieces their own pages. The question is which ones are big enough to warrant their own pages that haven't already been made their own?
Looking through it so far, most of the "That One" ymmvs could be their own pages or be on one page of their own.

If I want to crosswick/add a Visual Novel example in a trope page and it doesn't have a Visual Novels folder or subpage, should I create it myself, or should I put the VN under Video Games?
In the case that the Video Games folder already contains some VNs, is it better to move them to a new Visual Novels folder, or to leave it like that and add my example there?
