Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

openTroper complaining in YMMV Literature
Everything on the YMMV page for The Priory of the Orange Tree comes off as the one troper who added both entries complaining about Ead. They have nothing positive to say on the entire page and it seems very unwarranted? Especially the second trope, since 'being disrespectful to the queen', 'disliking a religion that is bigoted towards other religions', and 'having a hyperbolic thought' do not seem to warrent the Unintentionally Unsympathetic trope? I just get the impression this troper hated Ead, since i have not seen anyone else making these complaints.
Edited by TheLuckOfTheClawsopenMost of a work page's contents removed Literature
Isaac Imins cut most of the description and all of the tropes from Togetherly Long here with the edit reason "Shortened the article instead of completely deleting it because complete deletion requires approval and whatnot but wanted the article gone in the first place because the story is leaving Kindle Vella and so didn't want a bunch of stuff sitting around TV Tropes until the story was on the regular Kindle Store or some such."
They're the one who created the page and it looks like the only one to edit it, so between that and the edit reason given I think they might be the author of the work. Either way, it's a stub now and also needs indexing. Unsure if reverting the edit entirely right off the bat is the correct action or if a mod needs to do it.
Edited by Zarinaopenmaking a page for a book series Literature
hello! im new here and was wondering how could i make a page for Investi Gators (a kids book)
i have a couple of info about the books as i’ve edited for the fandom wiki before but would need help sorting out the different tropes as there seems to be a lot and im a little confused
openIs It's All Greek to Me beyond salvation? Literature
I come across Literature. Its All Greek To Me while doing random Five-Man Band clean up, and what a mess. It was made in 2012 by ladybugsc who stop editing in the same year, and they're the only one who contribute to the article (other edits are TRS dewicking). The article is not indexed and has zero wick, no other article link to it. Most examples are ZCE. However, exactly three tropes are passable (else I'll just send it to cut list).
Edited by KuruniopenHow to Do Formatting for a Hyperlink to the "Take That" Trope Literature
There's a Fanfiction called "Heroes Never Die; It's Hero Time", and I Want to add a Hyperlink to the Nintendo Switch Page. . . as well as include a Hyper Link to "Take That" for the Chapter making mentioning to an Issue with the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons; aka the Controllers' Joysticks' tendency to Drift. . .
How Would I Do a Hyperlink for Joycon and for the Take That trope to be hyperlinked to the word Drifting?
openNatter on Classical Mythology pages Literature
I was browsing the Classical Mythology pages again and noticed a lot of natter under the Sadly Mythtaken sections, specifically Hades', so I tried to clean it up while staying true to the examples given. Today, The_Taming_Interpreter reverted them back to how they were before, saying more details would serve the section more efficiently. I sent a natter notification, but can't revert the changes since that'd be an edit war.
Given the frequency of issues cropping up I think we might need a mythology pages clean-up section.

Edited by lalalei2001open Strega Nona on Main Literature
The Strega Nona page was erroneously placed on the Main namespace. I’ve copied the valid parts to a Literature page, but I’m not sure how to cut pages, so I’m reaching out to ask someone to do so.
EDIT: Ok, it’s been done! Thanks everyone!
Edited by Roloman212openTrivia/Animorphs has a ton of issues Literature
There are audience reactions such as Older Than They Think and Anti-Climax Boss on there, and the video games section feels like a substitute for an actual page about them. Do you think it needs a cleanup?
open how to make a wiki page? Literature
I want to make a wiki page for The Adventures of Ook and Gluk but I don't know how to and the page on it isn't helping me
openPrisoner of Azkaban Headscratchers too long? Literature
The Prisoner of Azkaban Headscratcher page has a notice when you try to edit saying that the page is too long. I was wondering if this warning is just a suggestion or if it means people can't edit it soon. Regardless I propose we move all time turner questions to a dedicated page
openMapleshade-Ambiguous Disorder Literature
As I recall Ambiguous Disorder are not about dignoising characters with a specific disorder. Over at Characters.Warrior Cats Others under Mapleshade, there was this entry:
- Ambiguous Disorder: In her novella, Mapleshade appears to develop Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder, as she sees the deaths of her kits over and over again in her mind and in her dreams. She also appears to have hallucinations of them begging her to avenge them. According to Vicky Holmes, she wasn't medically insane, but was driven mad by grief and feelings of betrayal, and that led to hallucinations that her dead kits were urging her to commit murder. Also, in Spottedleaf's Heart, Mapleshade is described as "walking stiffly, as if old wounds troubled her."
I thought that most of the entry seemed good, so I only deleted the part where it said she developed Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder, only for it to be put back by the same troper who had put it in first without any edit reason.

I just want to double check that I am in the right and if I am, ask someone else to delete it as it is now an edit war.
Edited by LadyErinNYopenDeletions on Classical Mythology pages Literature
Classical Mythology has a long and often contradictory history, but recently I've noticed Drakos25 has been deleting some entries alongside moving things to different pages, without edit reasons (I thought the Maia folder was deleted from the Mortals and Demigods page by mistake and added it back, but on looking at their edit history it turns out they had moved it to the Titans page).

Edited by lalalei2001openNot sure if example counts Literature
I can't decide if the following example- taken from LightNovel.Spice And Wolf- fits or not.
- Artistic License – Medicine: Justified in universe. When Holo gets sick from fatigue, Lawrence treats her using the "four humors" method, which was prevalent in medieval society.
True, the medical practices aren't accurate to modern standards, but if they're accurate to the time period depicted then can it really count as Artistic License? (I'm probably overthinking this.)
openQuestionable page Literature
I stumbled upon a page whose existence I question. Creator.Francis E Dec, a conspiracy theorist. While the theories are technically fiction (though not intended as such), I am thinking that he isn't really something we should have around.
openNamespaces Literature
I've been recently thinking of launching a work page for Anatole, which began as a children's book but later received an Animated Adaptation. Now, in my experience, most works of this type (Franklin, Little Bear, The Dumb Bunnies, etc.) have Literature as their main namespace, but also include a Western Animation namespace that redirects to the Literature one. I'm hoping to do the same thing for Anatole, but the problem is that I have absolutely no idea how this is achieved. Any pointers?
openSandbox or ComicBook namespace for Extreme Carnage? Literature
I've been contemplating making a page for the upcoming Extreme Carnage miniseries, which has been solicited and had a preview of the first issue released.
Should I make it using a Sandbox namespace for the time being, or would it be possible to implement a Comic Book namespace while keeping in mind the rules regarding pre-released works (which seem focused around TV shows and video-games, so how those pertain to stuff like comics is unclear).
openOddity on the Warrior Cats YMMV page Literature
YMMV.Warrior Cats has two folders - subjectives and audience reactions. I've never seen any other page do this. Is this a relic from the early days of the site?
openA !Tangled Web: disambiguation question [resolved] Literature
I'm writing up a works page for the Joe Haldeman short story "A !Tangled Web". A Tangled Web already exists, so I'm trying to figure out a good disambiguated page title.
Options that I've been considering: ABangTangledWeb ATangledWebHaldeman ATangledWeb1981
I'm currently leaning toward ABangTangledWeb which would naturally lead to a wikiword of "A !Tangled Web", but I could see the others being reasonable. Opinions?
Edited by KazrakopenTroping memoirs Literature
I'd like to create a page for Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! and What Do You Care What Other People Think? (using the former as the page title) by Richard Feynman. I'm given to understand that nonfiction literature is considered tropable as long as examples are limited to the work and not the subject, but would like to get confirmation of that before I begin.
In the interest of full disclosure, I was the creator of Richard Feynman, and would be reinstating many of the tropes formerly found on that page, since the books are the source for the majority. I'd like to make sure this is appropriate first, though, as it could reasonably be interpreted as Loophole Abuse. That's not the intention; rather, it's in recognition of the fact that the Useful Notes page was a de facto troping of his works.
If the consensus is that this is a bad idea, I'll cheerfully accept it.

Is there a project on here for obscure work pages, I've just created Literature.Zozu The Robot but can't find many sources online for it, other than reviews.
I'm looking for help to update this page and can't seem to find it.
