Main. For Want Of A Nail is blanked by countchocula, although the editing patterns indicate it is incidental. Please restore.
Edited by SamCurtopenEdit War on Crash on the Run Videogame
Tawnalover 2019 added a Fanservice Pack entry for Coco Bandicoot not really living up to your name are you on this page on March 23rd of 2021. Rainbow Pumpqueen removed this on the 2nd of June (edit reason: "Per cleanup thread [no link given, but presumably the one about creepy gushing that I don't know the name of]. Coco's chest isn't that much bigger and she's conservatively dressed. Considering it's barely noticeable, this entry feels very pervy, which is extra creepy because she's most likely a minor."). Tawnalover added an edited version of the same entry again on July 4th.
openNo Title
Troper Curiousice edited Ambiguously Gay to change the pronouns on the trope description and inserted some lines that imply deliberate lesbian erasure (when the first example, posted by myself as a queer woman, was clearly meant to be a hypothetical case not meant to speak for all instances of this trope, and the page itself has plenty of female examples). The edits strike me as Righting Great Wrongs. A bunch of their other edits also have elements of editorializing when it comes to LGBT issues as well. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but not in line with troper etiquette on style conventions of neutrality, and the edit reasons are either lacking or quarrelsome.
Edited by AlleyOopopenLil Cutie is up to it again
As you might know, we've had trouble with LilCutie before. And now, the little and cute one has made a zero-context entry, that also has failed spoiler tags so that the spoiler text shows up, and which is also poorly indented, and which is also ended with the word "Help" (referring to the help they need with the tags).
Warning! The link contains spoilers for Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion.
Edited by MichaelKatsuroopen Someone purged Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony's Funny page Videogame
Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Apparently estella86545 decided since they don't find Miu funny no one else does and went through basically mutilating the page to remove nearly all of her moments as well as some other things. I'd rather not go through reverting it personally and potentially kick up an edit war but it seems completely unjustified.
Edited by Lizuka8002openDanganronpaV3 vandal Videogame
Same vandal blocking out almost all mentions of Miu Iruma in the Funny section is back as Tropers/estella86545. Can anyone help?
For reference, another Ask the Tropers thread about this vandal is here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/query.php?parent_id=101082&type=att
openWhat's the proper ordering for tropes starting with a The?
Do I file them under T for The or under the first letter of the next word after the The?
openEleven - Cloudcuckoolander? Live Action TV
A while ago, SuaveAugustine added this entry to Stranger Things Eleven, which reads as follows:
- Cloudcuckoolander: As a mysterious, socially naive girl with superpowers, she's pretty much considered the weirdo but given her tragic background, it makes sense and she does start seeming more like a well-developed human being thanks to her friends, though she never quite looses this trait.
openDiablo Ex Nihilo Live Action TV
I was reading Kamen Rider Decade and I see Diablo Ex Nihilo listed as a trope. But it's a redlink. Was that trope cut listed at some point? Or has it been renamed, in which case, what's the new name?
openLego Movie registered icon Western Animation
The namespace for The LEGO Movie has the registered trademark symbol attached to it for some reason.
I know it's relatively easy to change the Wiki Word, but is it valid to include trademark symbols for a work's title? I feel it's awfully pendantic, particularly since sites like Wikipedia or IMDB don't include them.
openHow much "media" is needed to be troped?
I'm not sure if how I titled it expresses what I'm trying to explain. There's an existing food brand that I think could make for a neat trope page, since there's mascots and such with tropes...but there's no ads. They have mascots, bios on the websites, and social media presence, but no actual commercials. Notability isn't an issue here, and there's things that can be grabbed for tropes (enough for at least three), but I wasn't sure if it could still be considered an "ad campaign" at this point.
Edited by ZootyCutie94openIs this a rule?
Theriocephalus edited Characters.Aurora 2019 to remove spoilers in a character description, because "Spoilers are not permitted in character descriptions". Is this an actual rule? I didn't see anything about it here and I wanted to check before I started editing to enforce this.
open Troper with an agenda? Or just not liking a trope
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/el.php?findfor=mynameisethan recently removed Groin Attack entries off Loki (2021)'s Crowning Moments of Awesome and Funny pages twice and has blanked out the trope page several times now.
Edited by AkibaPurpleopenLaunching Recap Pages
This may have already been asked, but after digging through pages I couldn't get a plain answer to my question. I know that work pages are a free launch, but does that also apply to recap pages within works? I had a few things set up but I wasn't sure if that was something I could do right away or if I needed permission first.
openOverview: specific examples Videogame
I was thinking about adding an entry to Role Swap AU like this:
- The most common form of roleswap in The Legend of Zelda fanfiction is Link as a prince and Zelda as a sword-wielding hero. For example:
- Specific fanfic A
- Specific fanfic B
- Et cetera.
Would this be a violation of Examples Are Not General? There are other entries on that page that list specific fics as sub-bullets under the same source material, but none have an "overview" sentence like that.
open"Fanfic Ideas" tab
Miraculous Ladybug has a tab for fanfic ideas, and I'm wondering if that's something that we should have? It just seems... off-mission. It's not about documenting tropes in the series or the fanfiction of the series (there's already a Fandom-Specific Plot page), so I feel like maybe it should be cut.
openActor Naming Order Question
Hello, tropers! I have a question. Me and troper ArchmarschalVonLowen edit on this Singaporean Web Video show Class T1T5, and we had a difference in how we edit and write the actor names. Singapore has been a very multicultural countries so we sometimes get multiculture names, like for instance, Denise Soong Ee Lyn, Jasmine Lee Rui Hong. Those are a mix of Western and Chinese names.
And then comes the main producer/actor/director: Jianhao Tan (and to an extent, his cousin Zhi Kai Tan). This one's a fully Chinese name.
- I follow what was written in the original source. Since everyone in the source called and wrote his full name as 'Jianhao Tan' (also his channel name, old logo said such as well), then that's what I wrote: Jianhao Tan.
- ArchmarschalVonLowen suggest that since it's a fully Chinese name, then it should be written in last name-first name order, therefore, Tan Jianhao. You know, for... consistencies with full-on Chinese names.
So... which one follows the rules of naming order more? I haven't edited ArchmarschalVonLowen's edits since I want to avoid edit wars.
We should still take note that sometimes, naming order can be a little messy and inconsistent, like if you see a credits in Japanese, the actors' naming order are written in last name-first name order (even if they're born after Meiji Restoration), but when written in English, they're written with first name-last name order.
So with that being said, which order should be followed? Thank you.
mynameisethan just blanked and cutlisted Groin Attack. "Reason: This page is unnecessary, not funny, harmful, and mean-spirited. The wiki and the world would be better off without it."
