Original Lyric: "Remember when, remember when, remember when we were all so beautiful?"

Misheard Lyric: "Remember when, remember when, remember when you were I fell through the floor?"

It makes no sense but I only heard the song through Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 and sometimes you could fall through certain floors so I sung that.

"Where Are Ü Now" by Jack Ü with Justin Bieber is getting a lot of airplay on the station that I always hear at work. I heard my coworker singing part of it as "honeydew, honeydew, honeydew..." - It's actually a loop of Bieber singing "I need you". I found it amusing because I thought of him endorsing the donut shop, although I guess it could also refer to a melon or a Muppet.

"Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster The People:

In "Vida La Vida", I heard "I discovered that my castle stood" as "I discovered that my dad was so slim".

Someone on another thread pointed out that there's a line in "Walking On Broken Glass" by Annie Lennox that sounds a lot like "save me from the blacks". which made them think she was a racist - It's actually "save me from the blast".

I heard "I don't want to be friends" in "Bad Romance" as "I don't want to be French"… in the French portion of the song. I interpreted it as a Jekyll & Hyde-type transformation.

Don't worry, plenty of native English speakers can't understand the lyrics to that song either, to the point that Weird Al Yankovic made a whole parody based on the song's incomprehensibility.

Slayer's "Payback" has the line "You've got a fucking catheter in your brain!" I'd never heard of a catheter before, so I heard the word both as "capillary" (I think your supposed to have capillaries in your brain) and as "cathode ray".

London Calling by the Clash they can't seem to decide if the line is "A Nuclear Error" or "A Nuclear Era" with their accent it sounds the same.

Multiple lyrics sites claim it is one or the other sometimes I was singing Error but then I looked up the lyrics on one site they said Era; so I start singing that and then another site says it is the other.

Until yesterday, I always thought Enya is singing "silhouette" instead of "sail away" in the song "Orinoco Flow". I looked up the song yesterday and read that its alternative title is "Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)". I had a "Oh wait...." moment after that.

I was thinking he was trying to wake up his other friend.

I used to think it was "away go my airplane". More significantly I somehow thought "could you take my picture, 'cause I won't remember" into "'cause you wanna take my picture, 'cause I don't wanna read the book".

Hearing "My Prerogative" by Bobby Brown on the radio today made me go look up the lyrics, so I could figure out that one part I could never understand, but always sounded like like "Don't get me wrong, I'm really not soup / Beetlejuice is not my thing". Turns out it's "Don't get me wrong, I'm really not zooped / ego trips is not my thing". I guess bad grammar and an obscure late-80's slang term ^note which a cursory google search didn't really give me any help defining, though from context I guess it means something like "full of one's self" threw me off. It also turns out that song did come out the same year as Beetlejuice though, so I guess I can go on pretending Bobby was just letting us know he wasn't a Tim Burton fan out of nowhere.

Someone on genius has the amusing idea that it's a verbose version of "fight, fuck, or flee".

A friend of mine recently misheard Bachman-Turner Overdrive's "Taking Care Of Business" as "Taking Care Of Christmas". He knew that wasn't how the song went, he just somehow thought he was hearing a Christmas-themed Song Parody instead of the original. It could be a good Christmas novelty song idea, if it hasn't been done already. Update: So it turns out Randy Bachman actually parodied his own song that way, and it's possible that is what my friend was hearing after all.

Beastie Boys - "Sure Shot":

Original lyric: "I'm like Lee Perry, I'm very on"

Misheard lyric: "I'm like Luke Perry, I'm very odd"

I was wondering what was so odd about the actor from Beverly Hills, 90210. Turns out they were talking about dub musician/producer Lee "Scratch" Perry. Though from what I've heard about him, he could be called both "very on" and "very odd".

I heard "my bum is on your lips" in "The Real Slil Shady" as "my mom is on your lips", which is probably even more crass.

Until I heard a cover version, I always thought the line "open up your plans and damn you're free" in "I'm Yours" (by Jason Mraz) started "open up your pants and..."
