This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:
- creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
- moving discussion pages
- moving reviews
Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
- Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
- If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
- We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
- If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
- If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
- To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
- Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
- Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
- Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.
NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

This is why I locked the page in the first place. I'm glad you agree with me, Camacan.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Understood, though I still think the Armor-Piercing Question fits, as said question got exactly the reaction mentioned in the trope page, which, if I'm not mistaken, is a question the target is completely unable to answer effectively and it hits them hard. Punk responded exactly as the trope page says: he tried to change the subject and avoid answering the question, then tried to turn the question around on Cena while getting furious, practically having as Villainous Breakdown as a result of it. I'm just explaining myself here, as to me, it seemed to be a very good example of an Armor-Piercing Question in the context of how it happened.
I'm not trying to argue, I'm just explaining why I thought it should be added.
The user Elvie has repeatedly been vandalizing the page Fanfic.Trouble It's been going on for a few hours now, it might be a good idea to lock the page for a day or two.

The appropriate place to post about that sort of thing is Ask The Tropers, where I see the issue was already raised and dealt with.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Some requests.
Troper Tales: Please delete the first line about the redesign and failed rename. That last line should go as it is really outdated.
Double Standard: Can that line about the Real Life example lockout be pot holed to No Real Life Examples Please?
Mary Sue: There are two red links, one to Escapist, which I'm sure should be to Escapist Character, and one to Plot Bias.
In regards to John Cena, any chance of getting "being compared to the new york yankees" as his Berserk Button?
I am so sick of hearing about John Cena.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Could this be added to This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!?
- American Dad: Roger loves this trope.

Add to The Lonely Island:
- A Threesome is Manly: What the duo attempt to convince the other of in the song "3-Way".
I was wondering, now that Nakama is getting renamed, should we remove the little joke on the Tropers Law page?
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianCan Troy Rising be turned into a redirect for Troy Rising.
Fight smart, not fair. Can the link to Small Name, Big Ego be removed from Internet Tough Guy? After all SNBE is now In-Universe only.
Could you remove the Apocalyptic Log example from The Bible? It's not an example of the trope described (a journal detailing the author's fate), but a different reading of the title (a log of a revelation and/or eschaton).
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger. When Administrivia. The Situation got restored after that weird vandalism, the folder tags didn't get replaced properly. Specifically, the [[/folder]] tag needs to be placed just before the start of the Frequently Asked Questions folder, before the start of the Good News folder, before the start of the Timeline folder * , and after the end of the timeline, leaving the end note not in a folder.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Got it.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.This is sort of a general question, as I don't have an example right now-
Nietzsche Wannabe is (rightly IMO) locked, but the problems with that had to do with the page description rather than the examples themselves. So, I wondered about the possibility of like splitting up examples by medium and allowing those to be edited, but keeping the main page locked- in other words, pretty much the way Magnificent Bastard and Complete Monster are.
HodorThe Garbage Pail Kids Movie has a couple of tropes that need to be moved to the YMMV tab. I'd also like to ask if this can be added:
- Shout-Out: To My Mother The Car, of all things. Captain Manzini shares his name with the main villain of that series, whose producer and main director, Rod Amateau, also directed this film.
So, looking at Locked Pages: John Cena: "Being one of the most polarizing individuals in Professional Wrestling makes this too big a target for an Edit War (or outright Flame War)."
In that context, these edits look to me like Professional Wrestling fan politics in the guise of tropes.
