That one 's an 8. Heavy enough to be Thrash Metal, but distinctly more varied and less full-on than the work that built their reputation (that being Reign In Blood, which is a classic album, but fairly single-minded in its intensity). Love the dynamics at work here- they were always very proficient, instrumentally-speaking and in terms of songwriting.
Radiohead - "Just": Have some more Radiohead. The last one never got measured due to the sidetracking that occurred in the thread, but that's fine- "Paranoid Android" is a hard track to place definitively due to all the different sections it's got, so I'll put an easier (and likely a bit heavier) one up instead...
Some very slow sections but whoa at that distortion. Quite good and all over the map. Anywhere from a 4 to a 6 when put together....I'll go with 5 and a half.
No early Queensryche yet? Let's fix that. Queensryche - "No Sanctuary"
I'd have to say a 6. I've been wanting that album for a while.
Baby, Please Don't Go - AC/DC
Another of those songs I'm having trouble placing. It's in my classic rock playlist right now, but it's a little more up-tempo than the other songs there. Might "upgrade" it hard rock depending on the rating it gets here.

I'd say it's a 4, bordering on a 5 at a couple of points. It sort of walks the line between 60s-style Blues Rock and the kind of balls-to-the-wall Hard Rock AC/DC became known for.
That song makes me think of a another somewhat similar sounding song:
BTW there's an instrumental bit at about 1:42 in that sounds like a part from "Hallowed Be Thy Name".
High 4 or low 5. Great organ groove there, and it's got some nice, bluesy guitar and a good boogie beat. Also, that violin works surprisingly well when it shows up. A good example of the kinda Blues Rock / Progressive Rock hybrid they specialized in.
Pretty sure Classic Rock's not a genre, since it describes pretty much all the Rock music that came out in a select era (i.e. 60s and 70s, as well as some 80s stuff- the definition seems to gradually change over time), including pretty much all the classic Hard Rock and Blues Rock stuff, which encompasses the Heavy Rock / Proto-Metal of the era. Though really, the borders between those genres are blurry anyways, and Hard Rock itself is kinda a catchall that tends to include Blues Rock and Proto-Metal / early Metal, among other things.
Sorry, ranting. The idea that Classic Rock is a coherent thing is a bit of a pet peeve of mine... Anyways...
The Prodigy - "Firestarter": A somewhat unconventional one, to be sure- it's Electronic Music (Big Beat, specifically- that genre needs a page) instead of Rock of any kind. It's still pretty forceful, though. Incidentally, The Fat Of The Land is a great album to listen to while playing Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64 and Wave Race 64 with my buddy Alex...

That's definitely not the R.E.M. I know. It's about a 3.
6/10 at its quietest. Not my kinda music.
The first part of the song is a 1, but after that it goes up to a 3. While I'm not that familiar with modern prog, I feel like I've heard songs from several modern prog bands that focus on creating that same kind of positive, warm, pastoral sound.

I'd say a 7, but it does creep beyond that at times.
Some underrated twilight-years NWOBHM Traitor's Gate - Devil Takes the High Road
You never know when this thread is gonna come back from the dead...
That's a pretty solid 6. It reminds me most of 70s proto-metal songs like "Highway Star" and "Kill the King", but with more NWOBHM-sounding guitar work.

Most of it is a 4 or 5, but the sections of heavy syncopated riffs bring it up to a 6.
Halloween-esque opening (and I mean John Carpenter, not the band Halloween), but once it gets going it's probably a 7 with aggressiveness.
Def Leppard - Wasted (Live in Dortmund, 1983

It's definitely a bit punchier than the studio version, and is probably as mid-to-high level 6.
You must be a big fan of early Def Leppard. I feel like you've posted a lot of them in this thread.
I would have to peg it at a 7.5/10. Which makes sense for the genre, though.
The Chronicles of Israfel - The Life I Know

The song wavers between and 5 and a 7 throughout, having moments at each level but never quite sticking to one level, so it averages a 6.
I'd say a soft 7 or a hard 6.
Bring Me The Horizon - RE: They Have No Reflections

6 - This sounds like what I imagine a parody of metal would sound like. A lot of clumsy off-time sounding playing over struggling sometimes out of breath vocals and budget placeholder stop-go riffs that are supposed to sound heavy but end up dropping back to a basic idea that had gotten played out after the early 80's. The sudden melodic bridge which feels like it was cribbed from a whole other song ends up further working against whatever it is they were trying to achieve here.
I think it's a 10, but given that it sounds like it was recorded in a public bathroom it's kind of tough to rate it on a purely musical level.
8 - Wow, this new snare drum sound is really neat. Kind of too strong but the bass tone and guitar is thick enough not to be buried.
That is a mid-to-high 9. It sounds like something off of Darkness Descends by Dark Angel, but with more "evil" sounding vocals.
Feels like a hard 8 to me.
That song ranges between a 2 and a 4, averaging a 3. Flying Colors is one of the many projects in the current prog scene that I was aware of but hadn't taken the time to check out, but that was pretty good.
As for "Paranoid Android" that song goes from a roughly a 2 to a hard 6 to a 1 then back to a hard 6.
Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss
This song shows a more melodic (not to mention progressive) side of Slayer, which I was pleasantly surprised by given their aggressive reputation.
