Going poi at the abyssals is far more constructive than her other targets. And it's good Kitakami can keep a leash on her pet poi.

I counted to 21 pois and poi-like sounds. Not the best, but I think it's sufficient. By the way, this is probably the only episode of any series I've written the "in which" line before the actual episode. It's usually the last line I write when I comment on episodes.

I kinda preferred Yuu's somewhat changed expressions. And her scarf is cool.

Incidentally, I just read the Shima manga (not that long), where Yuu's also awesome. Although it was still hilarious when Shima clocked her.

Although, things got repaired rather quickly. But Ooi won't forget this injustice. The cycle of vengeance will never end...

It the "Naval District attack" was the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo. So, Midway is still coming I think.

Don't they need to introduce subs at some point though? I don't think we've seen any.

I think the admiral counts as a Running Gag at this point.

Yeah, we will most likely get Midway as the series' finale.

It I really interesting to learn about different things about history. Like how Yorktown CV-10 was named that right after Yorktown CV-5 sunk. That would make for an interesting Stinger if ABL Worktown sunk, but then they show either another Wo-Class or Aircraft Carrier Oni, with the implication that she carries her memories.

What do you mean "off"? The real-life Operation FS was post-toned due of Battle of the Coral Sea and cancelled because of Battle of Midway. And because Coral Sea happened, you know.

And to be fair, since Wo-Class is substituting for CV-5 Yorktown, I figured Aircraft Carrier Oni would be promoted to CV-10 Yorktown in the content of the show. Unless we get Bait-and-Switch Boss.

The anime production was already well under way before the Midway event came around. Interestingly enough it features something that appeared during the MI event — the Late-Model Abyssal destroyers (the infamous ones that could tank Yamato and drop a Kai'd Yamato or Musashi to red in one hit).

So the anime production would probably know about the content of the MI event, but would no longer have the time to model the stuff that got introduced then. Kind of like how we got Operartion W without the Isolated Island Oni making an appearance.
