A quote was recently added to Final-Exam Boss even though it already has one. Which one do you think works the best?

I'm not even sure McNulty is an example of a Poisonous Friend, let alone a page-quote-worthy one; either way, the quote doesn't seem to reflect the trope.

A bit too wordy and only tangentially related to the trope.

I'd far prefer the quote from Pacific Rim, it's short and to-the-point.

I thought that would work, until I found out that whoever already put it in the Film-Live Action folder spoiler-tagged both it and the name of the speaker.

It's not much of a spoiler because without context you can't know that he just survived being eaten by a Kaiju.

Just One More Level! and Peggle have almost the exact same quotes. I honestly don't think it fits on Peggle, but I don't know of anything to replace it with.

I just fixed this example on Viking Funeral:

• Stoick from Howto Train Your Dragon 2 gets one when he dies.

Now I would love to turn it into the page quote on Self Fulfilling Spoiler. Just to be clear, the second spoiler is the self-fulfilling one. We would have to cheat a little and get rid of the first spoiler tag. Maybe like this:

• [Character] from Howto Train Your Dragon 2 gets one when he dies.
  • Former example entry on Viking Funeral

No spoilers in page quotes. At all. If the quote would spoil something and it's not on an inherent spoilery page, like Death Tropes, then something else needs to be used.

Not even Non Sequitur? Last time I tried to report a Self-Demonstrating Article having spoiler tags above the line, someone else made it sound like those articles could get away with it.

Yes. That spoiler tag in that quote should be removed, or the quote should be changed into something else that doesn't contain spoilers.

Vietnam has three page quotes, none of which I think are very good.

I think the national motto is okay but it definitely doesn't need a quote.

Either national motto or no quote.

Nat'l motto is my vote.

I've never liked the quote on The Omniscient. It doesn't really have anything to do with the trope. It's hard to find good quotes for it, though. Here's one, but it might require a bit too much context. Or maybe it should be shortened a bit.

• 'Kweng: Breacher beacon detected. Shall I let it transmit?
• Admiral Emm: Fine.
• 'Kweng: It's simple text: "Admiral Emm. The Fleetmind will not interfere in this dispute, but we are watching."
• Admiral Emm: Let them watch. We'll finish this in one of the bays.
• 'Kweng: Oh, hey...there's more text now: "We can watch there, too."

Then there's this one, but I'm not sure it's clear.

• Amenadiel: I am told that you will name your price.
• Lucifer: That I may name my price or that I will name it?
• Amenadiel: Will.
• Lucifer: You'd think part of being omniscient would be knowing when to stop.

A lesser version, but it might fit better on Seers:

• Neo: So she knows, what? Everything?

And the obligatory Discworld example, but it might involve too much time travel:

There's a classic Sherlock Holmes quote (regarding Sherlock's brother Mycroft):

"He has the tidiest and most orderly brain, with the greatest capacity for storing facts, of any man living. [...] All other men are specialists, but his specialism is omniscience."

The quote on What the Hell Is That Accent? isn't terrific, and rather redundant with the picture. I suggest a more relevant one:

"What the f[bleep] accent is that?! It's like every Asian comedian's impression of their mom combined into one voice..."

Eh, I want to avoid that kind of quote if it can be helped.

I do agree the current one could stand to be improved. I like the second one (MARDEK character bio) on the quotes page.

Can't say any of the Accent quotes really catch me, including the current page quote.

And on another note, Badass Normal's page quote has a couple of potholes that are more or less needed for context, which of course makes it not a good quote candidate.

However, not a lot on the quotes tab really catches my attention, though I am inclined towards either the one for SCP Foundation, with the Half-Life 2 quote about the Player Character being a not-too-distant second (minus the pothole to HL1).
