Alright, I can accept anime and manga being used as trope images, since they can be changed easily, or by a thread if they have a disclaimer...but this is ridiculous. I mean, come ON guys! Really?!

I'll just gather up the Japanese ones I find and post them here, since making one for each trope will clutter up the shop more than it is now as well as a placeholder name I came up with from the top of my head.

  • Genki Girl (Eccentric Girl or perhaps Giddy Girl for the Added Alliterative Appeal)
  • Dojikko (I don't think we need this, since we have Cute Clumsy Girl.)
  • Bokukko (no idea)
  • Dandere (I don't think we need this, since there are no examples and we already have Shrinking Violet.)
  • Kawaiiko (I suppose we can keep this since it has to do with Japanese cuteness.)
  • Kuudere (Cold Yet Warm, its right there in the alt titles. Also I think we can just put those two images into one)
  • Megane (Guys Who Wear Glasses or Guys With The Glasses, if you want that site reference.)
  • Meganekko (Gals Who Wear Glasses, like the rhyme)
  • Moe (I dunno, Ridiculously Cute Character or something.)
  • Tsundere (Hot And Cold, its right there in the alt titles. Or even You're Hot And You're Cold if you dig the song.)
  • Yandere (Madly In Love, Love Really Hurts, I dunno, threes all kinds of things you can use.)
  • Baka (I don't think we need this.)
  • Cute Shotaro Boy (Thankfully being taken care of.)
  • Keet (Definition is undecided, hopefully a name change will come through as well.)
  • Joshikousei (wtf.) (How about Stock Schoolgirl?)
  • Pettanko (Do we really need this since there are no examples and the appropriate trope links are at the bottom?)
  • Takahashi Couple (Do we really need this since we have Belligerent Sexual Tension?)
  • Zettai Ryouiki (lol, isn't that the place where aliens live?) (One of the alt titles should suffice.)

2808 wicks, lots of inbounds. Do you have an argument to make that takes into account misuse or disuse based on non anime mediums?

Also, this isn't the place to discuss those other tropes.

...Though I would like to see stuff like Baka cut. Somehow it managed to survive the last trip through the TRS by just having its examples cut.

This is not a TRS thread - those are supposed to focus on one trope. If you have a problem with Genki Girl, feel free to make your case for renaming it, but the other Gratuitous Japanese tropes don't have anything to do with this.

If you wish to discuss the others, you want a Trope Talk thread.

I agree. Confusing to remember them (especially the various "-dere"s) and not usable in many outside anime communities anyway. Tsundere and Moe can live, as they are commonly used. However, the renames for the -deres are equally confusing - "Hot yet Cold" and "Cold yet Warm" aren't easily told apart, either. My suggestions:

Kuudere -> Warm Inside, Reserved at First

Tsundere (if you really want) -> Belligerence Hiding Love, Violent Shyness

Yandere -> Ax Crazy Love, Completely Deranged But Cute (as a brother to Troubled, but Cute)

Locking

Trying to take on all these in one thread is going to be massively confusing. That's why we have individual threads for each trope that needs repair.

"It's Japanese" is a very poor reason by itself to rename a trope.

Many of these tropes have already had extended discussions about the name. If you have a reason that wasn't brought up then, it may be worth mentioning. But "I don't like the name" is not a sufficient reason to propose a rename.
