[up] No completely gratuitous nudity, though... at least not any you'd want to see.

My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 3 premiered yesterday (missed it, though I admittedly prefer watching stuff on a computer) and SyFy's own killer leprechaun flick, Leprechaun's Revenge, is set for broadcast on St. Patrick's Day.

[up] I much preferred the title Red Clover.

I watched Valentine recently. I might have not hated it so much if not for the completely shitty ending.

@Lord: Well, the sequels have that, and I like Unhappy Campers and Return to Sleepaway Camp. Teenage Wasteland was kind of boring though.

Newly announced Leprechaun remake being made by Lionsgate and the WWE.

I read that, and was similarly baffled.

Somebody at Lionsgate had a little too much green beer to drink, methinks.

I would've preferred another sequel (like the Wild West one brought up years ago) but I suppose this is fine.

Hope to God they don't play things seriously.

Got Slasher in the mail today. Took an unusually long time to find. Hear it's a lot like an Andreas Schnaas flick - German, gory, depraved and that's about it.

I was thinking more along the lines of Hornswoggle.

I rewatched the first four Leprechaun films(thanks to the 2-disc set). They all have their charms to me...yes, even Leprechaun 4: In Space. It's just so stupid, how can one completely hate it?

And the guy who plays the obnoxious, wisecracking barista in the film...I thought he'd be going places. He milks the build-up to his death for all its worth...and what a way to go.

2, 3 and Back 2 tha Hood are my favorites. The rest are okay, though I remember intensely disliking In Space when I first saw it.

And lacking a general horror thread to announce this in, I thought I'd just mention it here - The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) has ran into trouble, apparently due to Tom Six and Dieter Laser being at each other's throats.

Hornswoggle it is. And now there's been some rumblings in regards to that Silent Night Deadly Night remake that has been simmering in Development Hell for so long. Apparently, they've got Malcolm McDowell.

Watched Truth or Dare?: A Critical Madness (enjoyable, eventually) and Bunnyman (dull, random, and terrible; hopefully the sequel will be better).

I last watched Bloody Reunion. I really enjoyed it, but the twist might seem a little familiar to some people, and maybe piss a few off.

Oh, I somehow forgot to mention, the child who played the younger version of the killer in Truth or Dare? went on to become one of the Backstreet Boys.

If anybody else has seen Scarecrows, please do contribute to the shiny new page for it.

Picked up Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings from the library, but I haven't had the time to get to it.

Also, apparently Platinum Dunes is being looked to for assistance on the new Halloween film. Joy.

Not on the same level as the first two, but miles ahead of Left for Dead.

One extreme to the other...

Recently saw:

  • The Burning (1981): Still good, but rewatches can make you realize how disjointed it may feel.
  • April Fools (2007): It really does seem like almost all "ghetto slashers" (this bastard child of Slaughter High and I Know What You Did Last Summer included) suck. Still, it's hard to completely hate something that has a character nicknamed Poop.
  • Open House (1987): A mix of good ideas marred by terrible execution. One of those obscure little slashers that actually could benefit from a remake (like that would happen).

And what else is new:

  • Must be experiencing a burst of luck, since along with finding a single copy of the German flick Slasher on eBay, I just found a single copy of the Hong Kong slasher The Deadly Camp as well. Squee!
  • Gutterballs got me curious about the other films of Ryan Nicholson (who is actually a fellow Canadian). So far I've managed to track down uncut versions of Live Feed and Hanger.
  • Turns out they're remaking Criminally Insane. It's got Linnea Quigley and Felissa Rose.
  • The Collection is apparently nearing completion.

Maniac Cop remake/prequel (requel?) on the way... with Nicolas Winding Refn on-board as co-producer.

Oh hey, also announced is Wrong Turn 5.

And watched Uwe Boll's Seed. Incredibly grim and occasionally genuinely disturbing little serial killer flick along the lines of The Horror Show, Shocker, Heartstopper, The First Power, Judge and Jury, Fallen... sure are a lot of "serial killer becomes supernatural after being executed" flicks...

Gutterballs in Two Minutes.

And the Silent Night, Deadly Night remake appears to be shaping up nicely.

Yeah, it seems they really are doing that Murderer P.O.V.: The Movie thing.

The mom being played by America Olivo reminds me of Tiffany Shepis's role as the Evil Matriarch in Cyrus: Mind of a Serial Killer.

Shout! Factory just announced several slashers(mostly owned by Universal) for release or re-release on Blu-ray and DVD, including Halloween II re-release, Terror Train, The Funhouse, the long-unreleased pseudo-slasher Death Valley, and the also long-lost Peter Benchley killer pirate adaptation The Island.

Also, Phantasm II, They Live, and Halloween III: Season of the Witch, for what it's worth.

In Child's Play news, they have apparently given up on the going nowhere remake and are just making another sequel. Link.
