Kory: i will need to do some more testing to see if the 500KB should be lowered even more but either way everyone can relax because the database will not crash or implode in anyway due to page size so splitting pages isn't a huge priority and is just more of a suggestion. For pages that actually load slow, splitting the pages will help slower internet users navigate these pages better.
It looks like pages over 500,000 characters (html formatted, that is) are crashing the server when someone tries to edit them. programmer's whine
They need to be fixed, anyway. Way too big for one page. They need to be broken up into subpages of a reasonable size.
I'm trying to get better about communicating before big changes, so we'll let this one run for a while before taking the action. The server crashes do come under the heading of 'urgent', though.

Explanation of what triggers the too-long page warning

...Fridge Logic is literally the opposite of Headscratchers. The HS is the "wait, what?" with the FL being the "ooooohhhhh".
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Characters.Kamen Rider Gaim Beat Riders just gave me a warning about being too long. I was just there to fix a wick; I know nothing about the show.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Since Fridge Logic has no examples, should the Steven Universe examples be moved to Fridge/StevenUniverseBrilliance and Fridge/StevenUniverseHorror?
Characters.Borderlands Vault Hunters is also overly long.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOh, yeh. Sorry, I thought you were asking if the fridge examples should be moved to head scratchers.
So are a bunch of the other Borderlands character pages. Thankfully, they're all pretty organized so I think that some simple game then type splits will be easy to do.

OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Was adding an example to Supergirl (2015) when the warning came up. I've moved the frankly massive Villain section to its own page (Supergirl (2015) — Villains)
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Fire Emblem Fates: Hoshido is giving the "too big" warning.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I saw Kamen Rider Gaim Beat Riders is getting long. I'm thinking of making a page exclusive for the Armored Riders to shorten it.

Pokémon: Generation VII Families is giving a too big warning.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Should it be split up into three pages? I'm thinking like how we have Pokémon: Generation I Families but from Rowlet to Salazzle (roughly half of the pokemon there) and then Stufful to Magearna.
That could probably be split up by the sections already there on the page?

Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettySplit up Hoshido into subpages, and I figure Gen VII Families could probably be split in half.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. The Red vs. Blue WMG page really needs to be split up. It seems like there was an attempt to fix it that never panned out. I've never had to do something like this before, so I don't know what to do here.

When I tried to add 2 examples to the Video Games page of Suspiciously Similar Songs, it gave my the "too long" warning. While I could split off the Mario entries, I'd still need council as to how to split off the rest, whether by Genre or by Production Company/Composer where known, as just splitting off the big franchises (e.g. Mega Man, Sonic) would only be a stopgap.

You could probably separate them by developer. So SuspiciouslySimilarSong.Nintendo, SuspiciouslySimilarSong.Capcom, etc. At least for the biggest problems. See also: AlternativeCharacterInterpretation.Video Games. That said, I don't think the Mario section is large enough to split into its own page (like AlternativeCharacterInterpretation.Final Fantasy).
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyCharacters.League Of Legends G To J is giving a too-long warning. Don't know exactly how to split it to harmonize it with the page just in front of it and just after it...

Adventurers: homeless people who steal from tombs and kill things. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is giving a too-long warning.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. Was doing some namespacing and got a "too long" warning for VideoGame.Final Fantasy IX.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I split the tropes by the folders that were already there (and extended it to Z, obviously). I wicked the example pages to the work page.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they pretty... So, what's the character count of the page, and under what lines do we split the page?
Ah. "You want the folders or split sections to be about the same length."
Gonna go with A-I & J-Z...
Forgot to add this... Well, it'll be for the split
- Younger Than They Look
- Belphoebe looks and acts as if she around 16, but Really Was Born Yesterday, as she is a clone of Jobe's drow form imprinted with Belphegor's memories.
- Some Exemplars (such as Crimson Comet!) seem to jump several years in appearance from their early teens to young adulthood, then usually stay there, especially those whose Body Image Templates code for a Heroic Build.
- Really 700 Years Old:
- The members of the Mystic Six do not suffer from age-related issues despite being over 125 years old, and have near-total control over their apparent age.
- Faerie-type mutants stop aging once they reach their late teens or early twenties, and can live indefinitely long.
- Powerful wizards can slow or even stop their aging through magic. Circe, in particular, is thousands of years old, but appears vaguely middle-aged.
- Despite appearing like a young human (or rather, Isokist), the Scourge in its original form was a genuine Time Abyss, having existed for over eight billion years.

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Main.Rare Guns is getting an overly long warning.
Was doing some namespacing and got a too long warning while editing On the Rocks (it doesn't help that it looks like most of work titles are potholed for no reason)
The We Are Not Alone Index is getting a too-long warning.
So apparently the page for the characters of Cross Ange has a warning for that it's approaching a very long length. I suggest to cut the page down for the groups of characters. One giant page for Ange, page for the Norma's, page for the allies, page for the empire and a page for Embryo (He should get his own page considering he's the main antagonist) and a last page for very minor characters.
The I-L and U-Z folders aren't very big (relative to the rest of it). Probably split it into WeAreNotAlone.Tropes 0 To D, WeAreNotAlone.Tropes E To L, WeAreNotAlone.Tropes M To P, and WeAreNotAlone.Tropes Q To Z.
What I've noticed is that the fewer pages are created, the easier it is for people. And four example subpages (for works) seems to be very common in the article count widget.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they pretty
Fair enough. But the Fridge Logic section is simply a link to the Headscratchers page (as well it should be). Should it be deleted? Or just transplanted onto both the new pages?
