HeyyItsKris (formerly known as Herobine Mobsnote ) is a variety content creator on YouTube. Their main types of content are their Let's Plays streamed live with their friends over Discord, Rap Battle series ''Inside Joke Rap Battles'' and their Slice of Life comedy plush videos.

Their first YouTube channel Herobine Mobs (currently ''[Dead Channel] Subscribe to The Real Herobine'') was created on August 3rd, 2013 but didn't upload their first video until July 28th, 2015. It eventually spun into 2 quickly abandoned channels dedicated to reactions and gaming videos before being abandoned throughout 2019. The channel returned in April of 2020 with the video "Chef Kirby's Assistant!" however, shortly after the channel was abandoned for good with it's last original upload being a message from Kris talking about reuploading the plush videos from "The Real Herobine" onto the original channel. (It wasn't done until June of 2021 and stopped being done after the reupload of "Bowser Junior the Artist!")

In April of 2020, shortly after returning to YouTube, Kris created a new channel called "The Real Herobine" which received its first upload in June of that year, a reupload of "Chef Kirby's Assistant!" with a new thumbnail. Kris would learn how to edit and began their first Let's Play series with their playthrough of Five Nights at Freddy's. They would make a second channel in August named "The Real Herobine 2" dedicated to memes and lower-quality content. In May of 2021, they began streaming their Let's Plays over Discord with their friends and started their most played series Miitopia (which finished in July 2023 with 15 total parts.) These videos feature their friends, mainly Virtual Youtuber Lampy along with fellow YouTuber Baron Von Snakes.note 

In Kris' personal life, they came out as non-binary in May of 2022 and are pansexual. Personal issues when "The Real Herobine" channel began uploading lead to the creation of a horror-based ARG called The [REDACTED_NAME] ARG where a mysterious entity, posing as Shadow Freddy from Five Nights at Freddy's 2, hacks into Kris' channel and uploads cryptic videos along as with videos to its own channel. The ARG's first phase was brought to attention in "Who is [REDACTED_NAME]? (and why is he targeting me?)" and concluded in "Bowser Junior's EPIC Prank!" with phase two beginning in November 2021 in a Baron Von Snakes video "Terraria SMP - Episode 2" and ending with "The [REDACTED_NAME] ARG Finale".

This channel provides examples of:

  • Aborted Arc: Due to the fact that none of the videos are scripted, sometimes Kris takes the plot in a direction even they didn't expect.
    • In the "Sonic's Soup Problem!" remakes, the aforementioned character and soup is an important plot point until the last moments of the first part, a minor plot point in the second part and entirely absent in the third part. The outro card even references this:
    "This video was 0% Sonic and 0% Soup"
    • In the video "Bowser Junior's EPIC Prank!", Junior "pranks" his family by killing themnote  and then the plot goes into The [REDACTED_NAME] ARG and how the plushies break free which results in Funtime Foxy sacrificing himself in order to erase Shadow Freddy and the timeline being reset.
    • In "A Group of Idiots dub... Sonic Unleashed", Chip reveals that he is the "anti-horny demon" and that he must defeat the "horny demon" Dark Gaia, killing himself in the process, and letting people love however they want. This is quickly dropped and turns into Chip wanting to kill his homophobic dad, Dark Gaia.
  • Abusive Parents: Downplayed with Sonic. Despite dragging Junior outside and forcing him to play outside in the middle of January and screaming at him whenever he interrupts Sonic's show, he treats Junior very well and caring.
    • Yoshi's Mom. She blames Yoshi for scaring off his friends despite the fact that Yoshi's Dad threw Funtime Foxy out and Junior and Inkling Boy flipped over Yoshi's pillow on their own will, threatens to hit him for liking anime and yells at him to not talk back to her even though he really wasn't.
  • Alliterative Name: Cosmic Carl.
  • all lowercase letters: In the music video for Ron (FnF) vs. Five Nights at F**kboy's, all of Freddy's subtitles are written in lowercase with no capital letters, a reference to how his subtitles are written in the series.
  • Another Dimension: In "Bowser Junior's EPIC Prank!", Chef Kirby, Sonic and Funtime Foxy go to an alternate dimension to fight Shadow Freddy... and the entrance was in their fireplace for some reason.
  • Ascended Extra: Chef Kirby. In his first appearance, he was an off-screen voice and appeared in very minor scenes in his first few appearances. As of June 2022, 25 out of 240 videos have his name in the title and he appears in 70 out of 240 thumbnails for said videos, had a 19 video appearance streak from "Chef Kirby's Assistant!" to "HBM Short: Sonic the Cat?!" and has made appearances in at least over 100 videos.
  • Ascended Fanboy: In Funky Pro Wrestling, Baller was actually a suggestion made by a commenter on "Raw - Episode 1" with Kris saying they'll add him. Come "Raw - Episode 2" and Baller makes his debut beating Kris in an open challenge, after Kris was distracted by Little Man .
  • Battle Rapping: Inside Joke Rap Battles is only this.
  • Big "NO!": Kris screams this after accidentally feeding Undyne, a fish, Sword Sashimi, which is fish.
  • Big "WHAT?!": HeyyItsKris. Oblitus Casa. Night 1 Tunnels.
    Happy Happy Happy starts playing
    Kris: I don't like- shut the fuck up.
    Lampy: SHUT UP! OH MY GOD!
    Kris: Serious- SERIOUSLY I NEED TO FUCKING LISTEN! SHUT UP! (Turns around and stares down with Hourglass) WHAT THE FUCK?!
  • Big "YES!": In their video on Undertale: Corrupted, after getting the infamous "Big boner down the lane" line, Lampy screams one of these however Kris doesn't notice the line at first.
    • Kris lets one out after beating Night 5 in Oblitus Casa.
    • Everyone's reaction to Francisco's debut and subsequently winning of The Funky SMP Championship at Payback
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall:
    • In Berdly vs. Arcade Craniacs, The Imposter shows the viewer a (fake) IP address and says that they're going to vent there. This is followed up by a door-knocking sound effect and someone screaming "Among Us!"
    • Strangely averted with Monika in Monika (DDLC) vs. Chara. As the most she mentions is deleting Undertale's "file0." (The file with the game's SAVE data and the file that keeps track on if you sold your SOUL to Chara or not.)
  • Butt-Monkey: Chef Kirby. He's forced to constantly cook, is given low wage, has to deal with Junior's constant demands and is tortured by Sonic. (albeit out of stupidity and not of malice.)
  • Censored for Comedy:
    • In Stolas vs. Slime Girls, Stolas' rant about what he'll do to Blitzo. He gets cut-off mid-sentence though.
    • Ever since Miitopia Part 10, all of Kris' videos were made uncensored... besides for Chemy's large rants which remain the only thing censored.
  • Character Catchphrase: Chef Kirby's "Oh man" at the beginning of videos.
    • In Inside Joke Rap Battles: Jumbo Josh vs. Baldi, Jumbo Josh ends every one of his lines with "brah", sometimes even saying it up to three times a line.
      • The only time he doesn't say it is when he says that he loves gay sex.
  • Christmas Episode:
    • The 2020 Christmas Special! is Exactly What It Says on the Tin. It has 3 plots, the first follows Chef Kirby who is forced to babysit a hyperactive Bowser Junior after he broke an extremely rare Fortnite Drift action figure of his. The second follows Sonic, who, after the first plot starts, is forced to go around to multiple stores the day before Christmas to find the figure for Junior, ending up in a fight with Donkey Kong over it in a Walmart. The final plot involves Spongebob and Funtime Foxy trying to come up with a present for Shadow after Spotify gets taken down worldwide. It is also notable for every character in a plush video (since at least Chef Kirby's Assistant!) returning for the end.
    • Bowser Junior's Plan to Capture Santa! (The 2021 Christmas Special) involves Junior and Yoshi finding out Santa isn't real from Chef Kirby, so in a plot to prove him wrong, try to capture him. They get caught and fail miserably but discover that he is real nonetheless.
    • Inside Joke Rap Battles: Noelle Holiday vs. HeyyItsKris was not only the finale of Season 1 of Inside Joke Rap Battles, but is the Christmas special of 2022. The main connection being both people who were manipulated and having to do with December. (Noelle has a family member named December, commonly referred to as Dess, and is obsessed with Christmas, whereas Kris got into a relationship with their manipulative ex on Christmas Eve.)
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Characters by the truckloads were brought in to be mainstays or semi-frequent characters only to appear a few times after or disappear completely with no explanation being made and the other characters not acknowledging their existence once.
    • Many early characters such as Jake the Pirate and Joy were meant to be important characters but never made more than two appearances before being completely forgotten about.
    • Subverted with Shadow Freddy and The [REDACTED_NAME] ARG as Shadow Freddy was a forgotten about easter egg character, hiding in the background of a few videos where viewers had to go and find him, however he was soon forgotten about until 2020 and the move to The Real Herobine channel where he began attacking Kris is cryptic videos, before being revealed as the incarnation of their depression
    • In Kris' first video, Chef Stitch and Goofy were next door neighbors to Sonic and Bowser Junior. They never appeared in the series again besides for a one-off appearance in "Neighbor Problems!"
    • Roy, Bowser Junior's brother, is completely absent from the rest of the series after the first video except for a one-off video "Roy And Morton Get In Trouble"
  • Description Cut: During A Group of Idiots dub... Sonic Unleashed, multiple characters say that they will reject Chip's offering of a bar of shit... only to then take it joyfully seconds later.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness:
    • Throughout 2015 and a good bit of 2016, every single location was on Kris' bed, sometimes the characters would go to the floor or to the bed across the room, but they would rarely, if ever, leave the bedroom.
    • In Kris' first video, Bowser Junior was already with Sonic at the time and even with Roy, his brother, yet in "Bowser Junior Gets Adopted!" they have never met before.
    • On the original channel, the FNaF characters and PvZ characters had their own series that didn't affect the Chef Kirby/Spongebob series of videos. However, after the switch to "The Real Herobine", they were either being incorporated into the main series with the former or being completely absent in the latter.
  • Extreme Omnisexual: In their playthrough of Miitopia, The Dark Lord, Astolfo kidnaps Herobine/Kris' party and sends them to "The Femboy Dungeon" where they'll train you to be the "ultimate femboy" (ie: turning them into sex slaves). Some of the victims include The Great Papyrus, Will Ryan from DAGames, the Friday Night Funkin' Boyfriend (who was renamed "cum") and discontinued Discord music bot Groovy.
  • Evil Versus Evil: Debatable with some of the Rap Battles.
    • Monika (DDLC) vs. Chara. Both characters, while definitely antagonistic, due have evidence proving that their aren't inheritably evil.
    • Nagito Komaeda vs. The Once-ler. Both characters, while definitely aren't good, are more so sympathetic and, in the case of The Once-ler, redeems themselves in the end.
  • Fun with Foreign Languages: Brazilian Hotel Mario's verses sound like decent punches... until you translate them. His first line should be a good indictor of this.
    Brazilian Hotel Mario [Translated]: Hello, I am Super Mario and you can suck deez nuts.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: Sometimes, battles will have an unannounced 3rd party challenger join in the mix.
    • In Berdly vs. Arcade Craniacs, Berdly gets frozen alive by Noelle using Snowgrave, and Edward is killed by The Imposter from Among Us, who is left to join the battle? The Imposter itself and they rap battle against you.
    • In Brazilian Hotel Mario vs. Mario Taking A Piss, MX shows up.
    • In Arthur Morgan vs. Walter White, Arthur dies of tuberculosis and John Marston shows up, shooting Walter before getting shot up himself. Who shot him? MX, who becomes the first rapper to appear in more than one battle, using the same exact verse as last time.
    • In Scott the Woz vs. The Slenderman, Henry Stickmin, The Scout from TF2 and Eminem all show up.
    • Super Mario vs. Sonic the Hedgehog takes the cake for most rappers in a single battle, as well as the most surprise rappers. In order, Barack Obama, Tails, Luigi, Chef Kirby, Coldsteel the Hedgeheg, Lord X, MX, Hypno from Hypno's Lullabye, Squidward from Squidward's Suicide and Lost Gold all show up.
    • In Jumbo Josh vs. Baldi, Huggy Wuggy shows up.
    • In Pitbull vs. I Eat Baby, MX and Huggy Wuggy show up due to them needing to find a funny reference.
    • In Ron (FnF) vs. Five Nights at F**kboy's, in the middle of Ron's first verse, after name dropping him Markiplier shows and starts talking about milk.
    • In Zesty Ass Goomba vs. Baby Girl... Daddy's Home, Black Diamond, an infamous Steven Universe OC, shows up.
  • Gratuitous Foreign Language: Brazilian Hotel Mario.
    • HeyyItsKris reads the entire Wikipedia article for the Swedish language... yes... really proves that, while they are learning and are attempting their best, you shouldn't ask Kris to properly pronounce various words in Swedish, especially "nail polish remover."
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Chip killing himself to keep his homophobic dad, Dark Gaia dead for good.
  • I Ate WHAT?!: In Miitopia Part 13, Kris was distracted while feeding their party members and fed Sword Sashimi to Undyne, both of which are fish. A few seconds later, Lampy points this out and Kris lets out a perfectly cut, screaming no.
    • Doesn't help that all the way back in Part 2, they took Undyne out on a fishing trip Outing Ticket.
  • Implied Death Threat: Monika's last line.
    Monika: I'll make sure you kill yourself now...
    • Kris' response during the end of 'Imscared'.
    White Face: JUST DIE ALREADY
    Kris: (Staring at the noose and chair) Oh, that's just a death threat.
  • Insane Equals Violent: Dr. Eggman throughout "A Group of Idiots dub... Sonic Unleashed." Justified in the end because Chip and Sonic flush his schizophrenia medicine down the toilet.
  • Large Ham: Lampy in almost every video and Chemy313 in the Miitopia series. From Lampy saying some of the most random and absurd lines ever said on the channel to Chemy going on huge censored tirades about how much he hates Sky's inclusion in the Miitopia series, they definitely steal most the scenes they're in.
    • Entity as Professor Pickle in "A Group of Idiots dub... Sonic Unleashed." He drinks piss, worships the "cum gods", calls Amy a "weird minor", calls people skanks and supports racism. On top of that, he says the most random things you could imagine.
    Entity as Professor Pickle: Aw damn, the horny gods are gone; I wanted to be drowned in cum.
  • Metal Scream: All of Chara's verses have this.
  • Mood Whiplash:
    • In their video on Undertale: Corrupted, Kris comments how menacing the settings is due to it playing a long drawn out groaning noise... only for seconds later the much lighter "Spooktune" begins to play and Kris immediately retracts their statement.
      Kris: Oh! That's not menacing... [beat]
      [The droning stops and Spooktune is playing]
      Kris: Okay, never mind, this is significantly less menacing.
    • In "Berdly vs. Arcade Craniacs", after Berdly dies to Snowgrave, everything goes quiet before...
    Arcade Craniacs: Wow guys, that was pretty sus.
  • Put on a Bus: While Spongebob and Shadow returned in "Spongebob Moves In!", Patrick was left behind with the explanation being that they lost him on the run from Nickelodeon as they had renewed Spongebob for 27 more seasons and 4 more movies
    • Funky Pro Wrestling:
      • Burger King Foot Lettuce and Peter Griffin have been missing for a while, with SummerSlam being the last appearance for the former, and Payback being the last appearance for Peter.
  • Running Gag:
    • Plush Videos:
    • Gaming Videos: As everyone in the group are close friends, it makes sense that lots of these slip in.
      • Chemy313's hatred for Sky, a controversial Friday Night Funkin' mod, makes the hammiest ham scene in the entire series, let alone Part 4 of Miitopia. When Sky gets rescued in Part 10, even though he was aware of what was going to happen, he lost it again being the only censored part in a mainly uncensored video.
      • Lampy's soundboard has been the cause of many funny scenes in the Let's Play videos. From playing Markiplier's first part of his Five Nights at Freddy's gameplay over Spamton G. Spamton's introduction in "A Group of Idiots play... Deltarune Chapter 2" to playing "Ugh" from Week 7 of Friday Night Funkin' over Boyfriend/Cum's introduction in Part 7 of Miitopia.
      • Among Us makes up quite a lot of jokes in certain videos, much to the dismay of others. In their Deltarune Chapter 2 playthrough, Berdly (who already has the voice of Toad from Super Mario Bros.) begins making constant Among Us jokes at seeming random times, completely ruining any emotional weight a scene may have had and, of course with this group, hilarity ensues.
      • This joke escapes just the Deltarune Chapter 2 playthrough as well. Whenever an Among Us joke is made or a reference to anything similar to it is made, Kris screams about Among Us in Berdly's voice.
      • After "A Group of Idiots play... Oblitus Casa" released, Mr. Casa note  jokes began escaping into multiple videos. No bigger example was when Kris renamed the 'lock.txt' file in their Imscared video to "Mr. Casa's Emaculate Tip.txt"
      • During most of their videos in the summer of 2023, Entity, who had begun to appear on the channel more regularly around the time, kept speaking as Dhar Mann. Hilarity Ensues as "Dhar Mann" would tell people to eat things out of his palm, die instantly and that they'll live to regret various things. This eventually culminated in an entire Minecraft video where the joke seemed to die afterwards. (The video was even named We played MINECRAFT with DHAR MANN, what happens next WILL SHOCK YOU)
    • Inside Joke Rap Battles:
      • MX showing up and using the exact same verse only with minor differences.
    • A Group of Idiots:
      • In the Sonic Unleashed dub, Chip repeatedly not only pisses down the holes where the Chaos Emeralds are supposed to go (later revealed to be toilets when he and Sonic flush Eggman's schizophrenia medicine down it.) but offers up bars of feces instead of chocolate bars, everyone of whom says they don't want it before joyfully taking it.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Slymee the Slime Girl references a line from Blitzo vs. Pico by Eddiefrb
    • Chip screaming Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers as the Power Rangers theme blares in the background in "A Group of Idiots dub... Sonic Unleashed"
    • Jumbo Josh references Eminem's famous fast part of his song "Rap God", albeit, he butchers it horribly.
      • Funnily enough, Eminem was a rapper that showed up in one of Kris' battles before.
    • Kris' interpretation of Dr. Eggman in both A Group of Idiots dub... Sonic Forces and A Group of Idiots dub... Sonic Unleashed is very reminiscent of Alfred Coleman's portrayal of him from the series inspiration Snapcube's Real-Time Fandub
    • In Welcome to the Circus, the final chorus features the line "You can't place the pins where patterns end and you begin!" a direct reference to The Stupendium's Control song, Slide Into the Void
  • Show Within a Show: Dave and Friends.
    • In "Sonic's Depression" the show was cancelled. In "Bowser Junior's Fortnite Addiction!", the show was back on the air. However, in "HBM's Short Shorts: Vol. 1" as Sonic tells Funtime Foxy to imagine the TV and they begin laughing at Dave together, signialing that either Dave never existed to begin with or the show was cancelled and Sonic is still imagining it.
  • Sir Swearsalot: Kris and Lampy.
    • Chemy falls into this category whenever he goes on one of his highly censored rants in Miitopia Part 4, 10 and for the outro of Part 12
  • Take That, Audience!: The Imposter, as both Berdly and Edward are dead, insults and attacks the audience.
  • Take That!:
    • Chara says that they only came back because Asriel messed up.
    • Stolas insults his wife and compares her to Slymee as only lil' silly fuckheads adore them both.
  • The Bus Came Back: The Announcer in Inside Joke Rap Battles. They were gone after WHEN VOOBERS vs. h and finally returned in Siren Head vs. The Emergency Alert System where they explain that they were trapped in a basement.
    • Funky Pro Wrestling:
      • Mario returned at Survivor Series to help join Team Thanos after Baller got taken out by Chemy backstage. They still lost in the end, with Mario being pinned after Mayor McCheese hit him with the Big Mac Bomb.
  • Very Special Episode: Noelle Holiday vs. HeyyItsKris could be seen as this, mainly due to the Sudden Downer Ending where Noelle goes on a huge tirade, ripping into Kris to the point of it being uncomfortable. Due to what Kris was going through at the time of writing this, this can easily be seen as Harsher in Hindsight.
