BURNER (stylised in all caps) is an object show by SacriStuff. It follows a group of 12 contestants as they compete under the supervision of Daddy Long Legs, the host. The first episode was released on December 12th, 2022.

You can watch it here.

BURNER contains examples of:

  • A Dog Named "Dog": As is typical for object shows. All of the contestants are named (or their names are related in some way) to the object they are.
  • Animation Bump: Playdoh's "The slow one has the fruits of our labor!" in episode one is animated very smoothly, then it's dropped back down to a single frame as he follows it up with "The fruits."
  • Are We There Yet?: Limey asks this as The Delinquents are walking down the hallway at the beginning of episode two.
  • Ax-Crazy: Spraypaint constantly carries around a knife with them and looks like she's about to stab Tissues in the intro. Limey, when recruiting her for his team, notes that she seems like she'd "commit a lot of evil crimes".
  • Black Bead Eyes: Most of the characters have these.
  • Blatant Lies:
    • Limey says that the two person team made up of Tissues and Record is too overpowered, so he makes a giant team of the most evil people in the group.
    • Playdoh creates an entirely different version of how he and Hanger found the apple, complete with reinterpreted versions of the two to fit his giant ego.
    • Limey says Record wants to meet up with her "internship gang" so Tissues has to go on his own in episode 4.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: During the entirety of episode two, Pilly is controlling Playdoh by taking out his hair and jumping inside. Pilly uses this control to sabotage The People and get Playdoh caught as quick as possible.
  • By the Lights of Their Eyes: When The Delinquents enter the room at the end of the hallway, they're momentarily animated like this before they bump into Roomy and the room is illuminated.
  • Call-Back: When Hanger falls in the cave below the area, you can see Team Namey's rows of text in the background.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Tissues is prone to this.
    Record: I-I-I'm warming up-
Tissues: That might be a problem. Do you have a fever?
  • Cute Is Evil: Pilly is pretty cute with his tiny, colorful body and big, beady eyes, but he can be more evil than Limey at times.
  • Damned by Faint Praise: Limey says that Kit "doesn't care at all about anything" when selecting her for his team, which she takes offense to.
  • Death Is Cheap: Partially subverted. When the contestants tick off the Recovery Cube too much, or make it revive people too much, it will say "YOUR ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES" and do something to make the contest harder for the person involved.
  • Deus ex Machina: In episode one, Tissues sees both of the teams, apple in hand (or mouth) rushing towards Daddy Long Legs to win. So, he pauses time and just goes over and grabs them.
  • Double Knockout: In episode 4, Pilly pulls Rosey off the tree, but also ends up knocking himself off.
  • Dumb Is Good: Tissues is pretty dumb, but this still leads him to kindness. In episode one, when he gets the apples, he doesn't (immediately) give one to Record, his teammate, but he gives one to Peanut because he "seems like a good friend". Tissues ends up giving the other apple to Record, not so that they can win, but because he wants to be better friends with her.
  • Establishing Team Shot: In episode one, each of the 3 teams have these after being formed and named, complete with a jingle.
  • Exact Words: When The Delinquents enter the room at the end of the hallway, they brag that they're trespassing to Roomy. Later, when Daddy Long Legs comes and finds them, he asks what they're doing in there. Roomy excitedly responds "They're trespassing!"
  • Friendship Trinket: The apple given to Record by Tissues is this. Record, when turning it in, asks Daddy Long Legs if he could not eat it so she can keep it, and he says he only needed to eat one apple.
  • Fun with Acronyms: The show title, BURNER, is an acronym: Beautiful Ultimate Really Never Ending Realm.
  • Fun with Subtitles: Each of the characters have a different color in the English captions.
  • Funny Background Event: In episode two, when Erasey comes over to tell Record, Tissues, and Pilly that it's challenge time, you can briefly see Tissues eating a penny.
  • Giver of Lame Names: Objectively, everyone. We have such great names as "The People",note  "The Delinquents",note  and "The Strangers".note
  • Happy Dance: Limey is prone to this, normally when he thinks they've won.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Tissues apparently has the power to freeze time and uses this near the end of episode one.
    • Pilly apparently is a doctor and has a PhD.
      • On a more heartwarming note, Pilly comforting Record near the end of episode one.
  • Imagine Spot: Tissues's collection of pennies.
  • Incoming Ham:
Erasey: We need to find something circular to replace the missing "O".
Hanger: (hears a distant rumbling as a pirate ship approaches behind them) What the-?
Tissues: (yelling from atop the pirate ship) Yarrr! Ye seek the letter "O", ey?
  • Instantly Proven Wrong:
    • Peanut, after digging a hole with Hanger to hide, says "There's no way Daddy Long Legs could find us now!" The very next scene, Daddy Long Legs trips and, due to his long legs, faceplants into their hole, finding them both.
    • Playdoh claims the Recovery Cube won't get an octagon for Rosey because it doesn't like her, but he'll get an octagon immediately. He then promptly asks for an octagon, only for the Recovery Cube to respond with "YOU ARE A TIRESOME ANNOYANCE."
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold:
    • Pilly, especially after the end of episode one, where he comforts Record.
    • To a lesser extent, Limey. You can see him conflicted when deciding whether or not to help Erasey, who is stuck under a bookshelf.
  • Jerkass:
    • Playdoh. While he is loveable due to his constant hamminess, he lies to Hanger and is just a jerk all around.
    • Pilly, though this is partially subverted at the end of episode one.
  • Large Ham: Playdoh is this in spades. The most egregious example would be when he throws himself on the ground, sobbing, simply because Daddy Long Legs forgot the challenge.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Played for Laughs. Erasey describes his dream to Tissues - "everyone was jumping around" - and is in awe when Tissues starts jumping like in his dream.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Kit is very obviously a Kit Kat bar, but due to the naming conventions of object shows, it was shortened to make it less obvious.
    • Then, immediately subverted with having a character literally named Playdoh.
  • Non-Answer:
Hanger: How'd you know they got an octagon already?
Erasey: My name is Erasey. And I am an eraser.
  • Not So Stoic:
    • A bit of a downplayed example, but Kit raises their voice for the first time at Limey when he breaks one of her chocolates.
    • Daddy Long Legs has a mini Freak Out when Roomy barricades her entrance at the beginning of episode 4.
  • Obviously Evil: Limey is this in spades.
  • Overly Long Gag: The shot of Tissue's collection of pennies, which goes on for 32 seconds... leading into a pile of 2 pennies on the ground.
  • Painful Rhyme:
    • Limey discovers a book written about him in the secret library, which reads "Once upon a time, there was a limey. He was not slimy, he was just finey!" Limey reacts with disgust.
    • "I'm not lazy, I'm Erasey!"
  • Pet the Dog: Pilly comforting and encouraging Record at the end of episode one, even though it causes his team to be put up for elimination.
  • Propeller Hat of Whimsy: The cheeseburger that comes up to Playdoh and Limey in the secret library is wearing one of these.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Roomy. One of her rooms is dilapidated because she hasn't entered it in 500 years.
  • Serious Business: When Daddy Long Legs announces he forgot the challenge, everyone reacts in shock and horror.
  • Ship Tease: Kit and Spraypaint have some.
    • During episode two, when they're the final two, Kit asks "Wait, Spray's not out, right?" Spraypaint responds with "Why do you care?" and Kit dejectedly says "Sorry."
    • Later in the episode, Kit is asking Polaroid to print out pictures for her. She starts to say "Print out a picture of me and Spraypaint-" before she's interrupted by Daddy Long Legs.
    • They're seen bantering at the beginning of episode three and Kit is clearly disappointed when she has to leave to find out what the challenge is.
  • Shout-Out: In episode one, during Playdoh's reinterpretation of how he found the apple, he briefly resembles Handsome Squidward.
  • Shrinking Violet: Record is this. During her introduction in episode one, she's very shy and anxious. She's even covering her eyes, reluctant to have a photo taken of her, in the intro.
  • Simpleton Voice: A few characters, namely Tissues and Eraser. They both sport pretty monotone and low voices.
  • Stylistic Suck: The animation where Playdoh lies to Hanger about what happened when they found the apple has hanger drawn very poorly and Playdoh with a... let's say reinterpreted face (with arrows pointing at him saying "absolutely beautiful btw).
  • Suppressed Rage: Rosey is prone to this, especially around Playdoh, who seems to really irritate her.
  • Surprisingly Creepy Moment: Any sequence involving Recovery Cube is this. It's a pretty creepy object with its Voice of the Legion and the fact that it's just hanging there, looming ominously in the background. And this isn't mentioning that it's just a pretty nightmarish concept if you think about it too hard.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome:
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial:
Limey: I am going to run away now. Not because I'm extremely intimidated by you all, but because I must... contain my power before things get out of hand! (runs away with a scared expression)
  • Talk Like a Pirate: Tissues does this for most of episode three, when he's pretending to be one.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: It's a Running Gag in episode one that Hanger is killed over and over again. She's even dead in the opening for episodes 1-3!
  • Vagueness Is Coming: Limey is constantly bragging about some unspecified evil plan of theirs, which is never seen.
  • The Voiceless: Polaroid, who is only able to communicate by printing out pictures.
  • Voice of the Legion: Recovery Cube has a pretty creepy one. It's deep, echoey, and uses the same computerized voice popularized by FAITH.
  • "X" Marks the Spot: During episode three, Tissues and Record are following a map to find the hidden treasure: an octagon.
