    Heroes
Superman Blue/Electric Superman could make an appearance.
Superman's powers here seem to frequently manifest as blue energy or blue lightning, with his eyes glowing blue at times and his "transformation sequence"/suit up even being blue-colored. This could eventually lead to an episode or arc where he goes full-on energy-being-Superman, with the stepping stones being set up early on.

Jor-El will be a Composite Character with General Zod.
Word of God says that the eyepatch is based on Big Boss while Jor-El has been framed as something ominous in the show and opening credits.
  • Alternatively, Jor-El and Zod were co-conspirators or friends in this timeline, up until Krypton's destruction. Zod survived and will show up at some point.

Clark Kent is a Human Weapon and Superman's abilities aren't just because of our yellow sun.
Purely circumstantial evidence, but inspired by the above post:
  • During the memory of Krypton's destruction, besides the space battle, Krypton's sun initially looks yellow before turning red and exploding. If Krypton had a yellow sun and Clark's powers work the same way in this continuity, then Kal-El would be super too. And since all of Krypton had access to this yellow sunlight and we don't see any superpowered people, then Clark is unique.
  • Clark's abilities have been manifesting after a flash of memory of Krypton- specifically, Kryptonian war machines. It could just be implanted memories and his body operating on instinct, or it could be that Clark's powers were designed to mimic and counter these machines, and those memories are bits of genetic programming coming online.
  • Jossed in Episode 6; Clark's powers are weakened by an energy field Mallah explicitly states is powered by a red sun, confirming that a yellow sun is still the source of Clark's powers.

Lois (and maybe Jimmy) discovers the Superman secret sometime in Season 1.
Because Trailers Always Spoil, one shot in the trailer shows Lois holding on to Clark before he flies, so unless Status Quo Is God and she gets her memory erased by the end of the episode, Lois finds out at some point. Whether Jimmy finds out is a whole other story, but based on his placement in the main trio and a shot in the Title Sequence showing Lois and Jimmy standing with Clark on top of his spaceship in Kansas, he may find out early on as well.
  • Confirmed. Lois connects the dots that Clark is Superman in Episode 4, barely halfway through the first season, and receives a confession in Episode 5. It's revealed in Episode 6 that Jimmy realized Clark had superpowers early into their friendship and merely kept it to himself.

If Batman eventually appears, he will be significantly older than Clark.
And has been a superhero for a long time, allowing including the Batfamily, possibly giving a similar tone as Batman: Wayne Family Adventures
  • A Wayne Family Adventures spin-off could be possible.

Kara Zor-El was meant to arrive with Kal-El to take care of him and teach him Kryptonian.
Jor-El assuming his son would be able to speak Kryptonian to his AI, having sent him to another planet as a baby, seems like a huge oversight on Jor's part... unless Kal wasn't supposed to be alone. With Kara in the official casting for Season 1, it's possible that like in Supergirl (2015), Kara was sent to Earth at the same time as Kal with the intent that she would look after him, teaching him the language and culture. But, as in many continuities, Kara got knocked off-course and either hasn't made it to Earth yet, or she arrived later/in another location and never found Kal before the series began. His coming out as Superman might be the thing that finally reunites them.

That heavy jacket Lois wears is a Tragic Keepsake of some kind.
Pure speculation with no evidence, but: the green jacket looks kind of big on Lois's frame, hanging off her shoulders and sleeves covering part of her hands. It's not too unusual for the city, but it does look heavier and bulkier for the weather they have. Perhaps something from Lois's father, a military coat, or something similar? While Lois is estranged from her dad, she still misses him and the coat's both useful and nostalgic.

Superman's super-hearing will get him both captured by, and released by, Task Force X.
The preview shows that Superman gaining super-hearing leads to him running himself ragged trying to help everyone, which would make it much easier for Task Force X to capture him. However, it's also evidence he's not doing it solely to fake a good reputation; someone with ulterior motives would not weaken himself that much for a cover story. If the General realizes this, he might purposely release Superman once the bigger threat erupts.
  • The first part is confirmed, however, the second part is slightly jossed: the General starts to realize that Superman had nothing to do with Zero Day, and pretty much lets Superman escape when Dr. Ivo attacks him.

Lois will save the world from Brainiac by telling Superman not to trust him.
Assuming that Brainiac in this continuity is a manipulative bastard currently imprisoned by Task Force X, it's likely he convinces Superman, as a fellow Kryptonian, to help him escape. (Mr. Mxyzptlk already showed Superman is naive enough to fall for something like this.) Lois, on the other hand, is an investigative reporter who is wary enough not to trust anyone at first glance. (Not even herself, as Mr. Mxyzptlk noted.) While she's infiltrating Task Force X's base to save Superman, she'll piece together enough clues to realize something's not quite right with Brainiac's story, and warn Superman about him right before Brainiac pulls off his plan.
  • She may even use the piece of Kryptonite she got from the League to take down Brainiac.

If Batman appears, he will get an Adaptation Personality Change.
Instead of the usual serious, brooding character, he will be an untterly bonkers Cloudcuckoolander, acting crazy and seeing conspiracies behind everything.

In a complete departure from his and Clark's usual dynamic, Bruce Wayne will not believe Beware the Superman.
Not because he believes Clark is a good person, but because Bruce can't believe that anyone would consider a Superman that adorable to be a threat to the world.

Clark used to be part of a trio before Lois and Jimmy.
And they included Lana Lang and Pete Ross during his childhood in Smallville. But as Martha said, Clark became distant when his powers developed, which may have caused the friendship trio to drift apart. Perhaps a future episode will focus on him reconnecting with his old friends.

Jor-El's eye is missing because of Zod.
Similar to many incarnations of the characters, Jor-El and General Zod disagreed over how Krypton's population should survive the planet's destruction. One such argument turned violent and Zod gouged out Jor-El's eye, which made the scientist realize the general could not be talked into less radical plans.

Kara Zor-El is Brainiac's prisoner.
This show likes to shake up classic Superman mythos, while still staying true to the feeling behind them. Instead of having an almost identical backstory to her cousin's, Kara will be found by Superman inside Brainiac's collected city of Kandor. Time will have been frozen to better preserve the civilizations, explaining why Kara will still be a teenager.

Clark accidentally hurt Lana with his powers.
Causing him to distance himself from others like Martha said.

It was baby!Clarks spaceship that stopped the invasion.
Think about it, something stopped the invasion before major damage could be done, and there was a bright flash before the portal closed, true, it could be Krypton exploding, but what if it was a mix of that and Clark's escape pod going through space that interrupted their portals signals? Would make for a nice slap in the face of both the General and Waller that the one they spent so much time trying to capture/murder, saved the whole Earth as an INFANT.

The show will eventually address the issue of Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex.
Unlike most versions of Superman, this Clark Kent is very visibly shown to not have perfect control over his physical strength and easily breaks things he touches if he doesn’t exert conscious focus and restraint, and his struggles with that while trying to pretend to be “normal” seem to be an ongoing concern for him that will likely pervade throughout most of the show. It also seems fairly obvious that he and Lois are attracted to each other on a physical as well as emotional level. If the two take their relationship beyond kissing, then it seems inevitable that this will eventually become an issue they might have to overcome.

If Batman shows up, he will be a Knight of Cerebus.
Batman, in his very inception, was a figure of gothic horror. So, to pay tribute to his roots, while also staying true to his modern comics and maintaining his principles, Batman’s presence will indicate the episode will be dealing with more serious issues than usual. Rather than making him The Comically Serious, Batman will cause most of the comedy to stall out.

Wonder Woman will appear to complete the DC Trinity, and be a tribute to her earliest appearances in comics.
If she shows up, Diana will have notable traits to distinguish her from previous animated appearances;
  • She will have been an active superhero since WWII, and like in real life, will have been/will be a figure in U.S. war propaganda, and a figure of female empowerment, basically making her an Alternate Company Equivalent to Captain America with a feminist twist. The reason there were no comparisons between her and Superman is the fact the government prefers to keep her existence quiet, and there is an ongoing comic book series based on the one in real life the main trio are aware of, which will be given a bit of a Take That!. Task Force X has been ordered to stay away from her because she’s considered a War Hero.
  • Her appearance will be changed a bit to remind us she is an Ancient Greek warrior. More practical armor, (Originally red blue and gold, the white stars added to appease to her allies, and she ended up liking them) curly hair that’s kept pulled back, tanned skin, the whole nine yards.
    • For that matter, Steve Trevor, who is long dead at this time, will be given a Race Lift similar to the Earth One comic series.
  • Due to her superior experience with her abilities, she will play a mentor role for Clark, teaching him how to better control his powers, and better combat comprehension. In fact, if the Justice League forms, she will be the De Facto leader because of her age and experience, and she is actually very familiar with other superheroes, causing them to turn to her for leadership.

The dynamic between the Justice League's founding members will be changed up.
  • Clark/Superman will have been one of the most recent Superheroes to show up, they’re just less of a priority for Task Force X
  • The other two members of the Trinity (Batman and Wonder Woman) will already be allies to the rest of the future founding members, with Diana having met Bruce near the beginning of his career.
  • Clark will be the Naïve Newcomer to the others, who are more blasé regarding the more bizarre aspects of the DC Universe, especially Batman and Wonder Woman, who have been fighting crime for decades at this point, so they’ve Seen It All. This will cause Clark to become a bit of a kid brother to the others, or a son, in the case of the older members.
  • When the Trinity fully forms, the dynamic will be a bit different, the typical Freudian Trio being mixed around, With Superman as the Id/ The McCoy due to his age, (notice that his Chronic Hero Syndrome is a bit unchecked) Batman as the Superego/ The Spock, due to his age and tendency to work alone, (though he won’t be averse to help) making him the field leader of the Justice League, and Wonder Woman as the Ego/ The Kirk, with her high experience, strong conscience, regularly working with soldiers on the battlefield, understanding the importance of keeping subordinates safe, all combined with the fact she is a diplomat at heart, causing her to naturally slide into leadership position.
  • Once the League forms, their first challenge will be Task Force X, because each will be considered a ‘Nemesis’ individually. Superman is obviously considered Nemesis Omega, but Batman will be Nemesis Alpha, and Wonder Woman Nemesis Beta, the others ranked by powers, range, and alliance. The only reason Wonder Woman isn’t higher is because she’s considered a war hero.

    Antagonists
Task Force X will be a major antagonist for the season.
Doubtless Livewire is going to be forced into the squad with the neck bomb and Waller’s ultimate goal will be to recruit or kill Superman.

Lex Luthor will be a Greater-Scope Villain.
Lex's presence in this continuity will be alluded to and it may turn out that he's been secretly aiding some of the other supervillains, but he'll remain unseen and in the background for the time being, only coming to the forefront once Superman has become more established.
  • The audience will not recognize him because he will be openly friendly, and have a full head of hair when first introduced.
    • During episode 4 Ivo has an assistant named Alex who’s nowhere to be found at the end along with the rest of Ivo’s tech. He also has red hair, just like Luthor did before he went bald.
    • Out of all people interviewed by Vicki Vale, he's the only one with a negative opinion about Superman and he actually blames the Man of Steel for the destruction caused by Ivo.

Lex Luthor was responsible for Livewire's original heist.
Whether he's part of Task Force X or a rival, Luthor wanted sole access to the Kryptonian technology and tipped off Livewire. Whether he was planning to buy it or steal it is unknown, but Superman's sudden appearance spooked Livewire and cost Luthor his chance, so he's nursing a grudge against Superman.

Lex Luthor will first appear as a significantly older man.
Instead of being around the same age as Superman, Luthor will be much older and already built his business and criminal empire like in the Byrne version. At some point, Luthor will get terminally ill from Kryptonite radiation or other bits of Kryptonian tech and will clone himself into a younger body like Luthor Jr.
  • Or Luthor Jr. is really his son and will try to avenge him by killing Superman.

Intergang will become far more competent once they discover Apokolips.
At first, Silver Banshee, Rough House, and Mist will discover some New Gods technology or a lost Parademon that they adopt as a pet to use as an attack dog. However, their findings will only lead them to encounter a certain tyrannical lord of Apokolips who will have them turned into bonafide metahumans through experimentation.

Rough House is Steve Lombard's (likely illegitimate) son.
In some production pages that were briefly leaked before the show had a release date, the bits on Rough House and Steve Lombard include an oddly specific detail; That the two must have the same voice actor. Now why would that be necessary? It could be because they're supposed to be related, hence having voices that don't sound completely unlike each other.

Mist will eventually either die or undergo a Heel–Face Turn.
This would explain why he doesn't appear in the intro during the Evil Overlooker shot of the show's villains while his teammates, Silver Banshee and Rough House, do.
  • Perhaps both, perform a Heroic Sacrifice to save his sister, his best friend, Superman, or all three.

Ivo's assistant Alex's last name is Luthor.
Which would also explain what's gonna happen to the tech that vanished.
  • Word of God said Lex Luthor won't appear in the first season, but they never specified how he would be portrayed.

Ivo's assistant Alex is Alex Allston…
But his full name is Alexander Luthor Allston, making him a Composite Character of Allston with Luthor. In the case of Adaptation Name Change, it'll turn out that "Lex Luthor" is simply his go-to alias after going on the run after his boss ruined everything for Amazo Tech.

Slade Wilson will…
  • Lose an eye.
    • Confirmed as of "Zero Day, Part 2", courtesy of Livewire.
  • Ruin his job with the government.
  • Fully become a rogue agent like in the comics.
  • Develop the mother of all grudges against Superman.

Amanda Waller will keep the prisoners to form the suicide squad against the general's order.
This is Amanda Waller we're talking about, given that she orders Deathstoke to deal the killing blow to Superman despite the fact that he is keeping the highway from collapsing, It's only due to the general rank that Deathstoke pulls back. She will request authorization from someone that is higher ranking than the general's position to keep the Criminals lock up citing that they now know about the alien technology and deems them too dangerous to be released soon. She will set the shock collars to lethal to keep the Criminals in line if they attempt to fight back.

The shock collars plus the technology used by Livewire will permanently give her superpowers.
Confirmed as of "Zero Day, Part 2". Livewire uses her newly awakened powers to break the other villains out of prison and takes out Slade's right eye.

Task Force X's mistreatment and Superman's compassion will lead to him gaining a rapport with his villains.
If they even stay villains! But even barring a Heel–Face Turn he'll end up with villains that will banter amicably, take his word at face value. Perhaps even join forces against a threat to the city and/or world, do crimes with limiting collateral in mind, pause crimes to save people.

Task Force X is going to intentionally/unintentionally raise the power level of their Boxed Crook captives, making them more resemble they're original counterparts.
Either by accident, or deliberately with some 'control' mechanism that will inevitably fail, their going to start making Livewire & everyone she gave gear to genuinely powered individuals. Such as:
  • Livewire becoming the intangible elemental that comics' Waller wouldn't dare try and snare.
  • Banshee getting actual magic powers somehow.
  • Ivo becoming something far closer to most other incarnations of Parasite, but it will be the result of a double cross (which TFX sees coming a mile away but underestimates, or at least thinks he's 'the devil they know').

Alex is actually Lex Luthor Jr.
His dad, the original Lex, will serve as one half of a Big Bad Duumvirate with his son. Bonus points if someone like Clancy Brown or Mark Rolston reprises his role.

Mist will be used to demonstrate how far Task Force X can go.
Connecting to why he's absent from the poster with the rest of the Rogues Gallery for this season, his guilt over getting Superman caught will lead him to try refusing future orders and his punishment will raise the stakes we're working with. However, if they still work as bomb collars, to maintain the tone of the show so far this might not be fatal in favor of making him the first meta to get pushed into his comic powerset: He will "disappear" in an explosion to the horror of those present, but later proves he turned into Super Smoke to survive it on reflex and start the dominos for Task Force X to start using meta powers instead of tech. If they are solely shock-based, Livewire is most likely to encounter and survive a similar push as she's been teased with it already.

Brainiac tricked Cadmus into helping him.
Brainiac will be exposed as a manipulative bastard who convinced Cadmus he was a good guy and to help him develop "peaceful" Kryptonian technology to better mankind. The General, realizing Brainiac had sabotaged the technology to help him destroy Earth, ordered everyone at Cadmus killed to ensure none of Cadmus's Brainiac tech escaped to threaten mankind.
  • This would explain a lot of the General's behavior: he's pissed that Superman acts like a good guy because Brainiac also pretended to be a good guy, which forced him to kill a bunch of innocent scientists helping him.
    • It'd even explain why he's recruiting a bunch of mercenaries, criminals, and all-around psychopaths: he doesn't want any "good guys" that might believe Brainiac's lies and try to help him out. And even if they do betray him, he'd have no qualms about killing them off.

Brainiac caused the Kryptonian tech theft.
How did Livewire's mercs manage to steal a bunch of Kryptonian tech from a top-secret agency? Perhaps someone on the inside was helping them out... like an imprisoned Brainiac trying to escape.
  • Bit of a longshot, but possible: in the chaos, Brainiac did escape and is now "helping" Ivo's assistant Alex.

Brainiac’s possible connection to all this.
Like in some continuities, Brainiac invaded Krypton for their knowledge, but after a grueling battle was defeated. His last act was firing a laser that turned the planet’s yellow sun into a red sun before he was “reprogrammed” to be of use to Krypton. With the slow loss of the Kryptonian’s powers and Krypton’s usual destruction imminent, a Council or Zod or both decided to commence a hostile invasion of Earth using Brainiac’s “brainwashed” forces. With Jor-El being against the invasion.

Nemesis Omega is Kara Zor-El, and ended up on Earth because of Zero Day.
Not only is Nemesis notably smaller then the heavily implied Zod at the end of the season, but as noted, it disappears without a trace after the explosion stops Zero Day/Krypton seemingly is destroyed. Given Supergirl has been confirmed to be cast, perhaps Kara Zor-El was aiding the fight (Brainwashed and Crazy or something she didn't realize was wrong until a show set Heel–Face Turn) until she ended up on Earth and grew up, perhaps completely unaware of her origin due to disaster induced amnesia.

Brainiac subjugated the Kryptonians and Zod is leading them now.
Not the entire species but the remnants of Krypton after the space war that coincided with Zero Day. After Krypton's destruction, it's possible that Brainiac had already captured and brainwashed the surviving Kryptonians to be part of his personal army (A possible reference to him shrinking Kandor). Assuming Nemesis Omega is Dru-Zod and the Kryptonian Warrior seen at the end of Hearts of the Fathers is Kara Zor-El, then it would be possible that the remaining Kryptonians are now enslaved by the maddened AI to aid in his subjugation of the galaxy. The Dru-Zod part would also explain how he could invade Krypton so effortlessly (Kryptonians have an advanced planetary defense grid, after all), as the general might have defected to Brainiac's side and told him all of Krypton's defenses. He didn't care that krypton was destroyed as long as Brainiac held up his end of the bargain, i.e., giving Zod control over his own people as their new king (even if he was simply a proxy to a being more powerful).

Brainiac is the Kryptonian's A.I. war machine… and secretly The Starscream to Zod.
Between the robot soldiers and Brainiac's connection to the ship, perhaps he's similar to a drone program to Krypton and aids the surviving Kryptonian forces in conquering. Zod may be the main villain of Season 2 but Braniac could be pulling The Chessmaster the whole time, culminating in him taking over and proceeding to miniaturize everything in the finale. (Perhaps with a upgrade to a more comic accurate form?)

Mist will undergo a Heel–Face Turn and end up becoming an ally of Superman… but Silver Banshee won't.
Kyle is clearly bothered by how he was made to trick Superman in Zero Day, Part 1, and is shown in Part 2 to still be hung up on it while sitting in Intergang's cell. Notably, it is Albert who tries to comfort him when he puts his head in his hands, while Siobhan is too busy kicking the wall to try and get Ivo to stop yelling. Mist then doesn't participate in the ensuing fight during the breakout against Task Force X's grunts, simply turning invisible and not reappearing until Livewire's group escapes. It's entirely possible he's grown disillusioned with the criminal life and may instead want Intergang to keep their heads down. Meanwhile, Siobhan has been shown to be incredibly ambitious and clearly relishes in the powers her tech gives her. She isn't likely to want to lay low, especially not when she finally has the power to pursue her big dreams. Kyle, wanting to stop his sister from doing something she can never take back, may go to Superman for help (possibly by getting in touch with Lois or Jimmy.) Siobhan almost certainly won't take this "betrayal" well and may even attack her brother. (Who's side Albert lands on could honestly go either way.) I see him potentially becoming an "informant" for Lois (and by extension, Clark) in the criminal underworld. Mist's powers are notably less combat focused, geared more towards support and, as shown in Zero Day Part 1, completely negated by Superman's super hearing. He doesn't have much to offer as an antagonist anymore.

The Kryptonian Warrior is not Zod… but Kara Zor-El.
It's notable that the Kryptonian Warrior is voiced by a woman, despite that voice being altered to sound more masculine. While the Warlord is not voiced by the actress confirmed to voice Kara, this could just be an attempt to obfuscate things to not let the casting spoil the reveal. Additionally, the Warlord's armor is much less humanoid than the other Kryptonians we've seen, possibly indicating that it's something more akin to Parasite's suit than strictly just regular armor, and the suit is big enough that there could very easily could be a woman underneath. Whether or not Kara is brainwashed as an above WMG speculates, or aligned with Brainiac of her own free will, as well as what her relationship to Zod is (assuming they aren't being made into a Composite Character,) she would be an interesting and deeply personal antagonist for Clark. He's already under the impression that Krypton wants to conquer Earth and is determined to protect his home, but the revelation that this new invader is in fact his cousin could test just how strong that resolve really is.
  • There’s the possibility that Kara’s confirmed voice actress will be a Time-Shifted Actor, voicing a younger Kara, while the adult Kara will be voiced by the warlord’s actress. The reason she’s conquering worlds is due to her grief over Krypton’s destruction, coupled with a more nationalistic mindset than her usual incarnations, causing her to desire restore her planet to its former glory. To make it more plausible, she could have aided Zod in a coup to save Krypton, but escaped the fate of their co-conspirators.
    • Besides, why would the showrunners feel the need to hide Zod’s identity in the first place?
  • If she is an antagonist, then she will be the deadliest opponent Clark has ever faced, because she is far more comfortable with her powers, and having much greater experience (both with her powers and in combat), while Clark has suppressed his powers for years out of fear. So Kara, unshackled by low confidence, will understand and embrace her powers so thoroughly that Clark will struggle to impede or damage her in any meaningful way.

Slade will eventually become more like his Teen Titans (2003) counterpart.
Waller will double down on her hatred of metahumans as more appear (not getting the fact that she created most of them) and will use Slade as her lab rat, giving him a newly developed super soldier serum… only instead of getting a mindlessly obedient Doberman on steroids and meth, she gets a scarily intelligent, and now nearly invincible assassin… who now decides he no longer needs to follow her rules.

Ivo and Alex will merge to become Lex Luthor.
Ivo's body is pretty deteriorated at this point, so he might look for methods to restore his health and comes up with the idea to take over Alex for a healthy body, and an attempt to get away with his crimes. Since Alex was apparently never charged with anything, only instead of the process perfectly putting his mind into a new body, it instead melts their consciousnesses together, causing Lex Luthor to be born.

Lex Luthor will take over Amazotech.
A deal that ended up costing less than expected because of the destruction caused by Ivo. He'll then use the company to develop anti-Kryptonian weapons to stop Brainiac and Zod. Some Superman supporters and even Superman himself will reluctantly accept Luthor has a point.

Ivo's Parasite suit will grow a life of it's own.
Given the Parasite seems progressively more organic as Ivo uses it, in time it will evolve and start absorbing the minds of various people (Raymond Jenson, Rudy Jones, Torval Freeman, Ally Allston, etc.). This gives it a mind created from the collective consciousness of its victims and it becomes independent from Ivo.

Nemesis Zero is Zor-El.
Much like his portrayal in 2010 comics, Jor-El's brother Zor-El was enslaved and converted into a cyborg by Brainiac who proceeded to use him as the vanguard of his army. This will cause drama after Supergirl is introduced since she'll naturally be horrified by what happened to her father, becoming conflicted over having to possibly destroy him. Additionally, during a fight, Zor-El's helmet will be damaged and reveal his cyborg visage, causing Earth media to dub him “the Cyborg Superman”.

Nemesis Omega was the Eradicator.
Notably, Nemesis Omega didn’t fire off heat blasts in the twin rays that are signature of Kryptonians, but lifted its faceplate to let out a single large beam that covered its entire face. Also, it can be assumed Nemesis Omega was still being exposed to Krypton’s red sun, so it wouldn’t make narrative sense for it to have access to these powers if it were an organic Kryptonian. Therefore, Nemesis Omega is this universe’s version of the Eradicator.

Catwoman will make an appearance
Possibly as a Shout-Out to the issue Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #70, Catwoman can make an appearance in the show where she uses magic to turn Superman into a cat to get him out of the way while she steals jewels and money all over Metropolis.

    Others
Other heroes and villains that could appear
  • Batman, obviously; helps that Vicki Vale is slated to make an appearance.
    • Robin will come along for the ride. Dick Grayson would be the most likely, and he'd learn of the Nightwing identity in some way.
  • The Flash: Much like Vicki Vale, Heat Wave will appear despite normally being a Flash villain. Bonus points if an episode featuring Flash has him race Superman.
    • The Pied Piper would be the villain of their team-up episode, with him using a hypnotic song to make them race each other while he pulls off a heist.
  • Lex Luthor, most likely as an Arc Villain or the Big Bad.
  • Darkseid, likely as a Final Boss.
  • Metallo, perhaps in an episode that introduces Kryptonite itself as a threat.
    • Jossed for him to appear in the first episode with Kryptonite. However, the shard in Lois' possession may lead to his creation.
    • John Corben will be introduced as a soldier working for Task Force X, following from modern comic incarnations of the character who were in the military.
  • Queen Bee, who'll be the alien Zazzala.
  • Amazo, because Dr. Anthony Ivo has already appeared.
  • Black Lightning: Has a lot more visibility due to his own series.
    • Tobias Whale could be the villain of their team-up episode.
  • Poison Ivy, who'll put Clark under mind control like in Batman: Hush.
  • Some version of the Teen Titans cast (possibly including Kon-El) could potentially appear via time travel (or an alternate dimension) complete with an older one-eyed Slade… who's likely no longer working for Waller unless they find a reason for her to be harassing powered teenagers?
    • May or may not include Kon-El aka the first character to be known as Superboy (who wasn't you know, just a young Clark) Allows for all kinds of foreshadowing (some may be Lex-related) without the baggage their biological son Jon would leave behind (intentional or no, knowing he exists would put at least mild expectations on their relationship)
    • May or may not include any of Slade's kids: the asshole no one but Slade even remembers, his pacifistic mute son with possession powers (they could dive into the moral/ethical implication) & his daughter, who is awesome & mildly psychic (but like her brother, needs her 00s arc rewritten into something not-hot-nonsense! Red Devil can stay?)
  • Jose Delgado/Gangbuster, since he's another hero based in Metropolis. This version will specifically be fighting against Intergang.
  • Evil Star, who could be used as an Evil Counterpart to Superman since he draws his power from the stars.
  • The Metal Men, as well as their creator Will Magnus. Them being advanced androids/gynoids would fit in with the show's sci-fi aesthetic.
  • Roderick Rose/Hellgrammite, likely as a victim of an experiment by a worse villain. He was also an Intergang member in the comics, which helps his chances.
  • Guardian: Given that the first episode introduced an updated version of the Newsboy Legion, who have been associated with him, it's possible that the Guardian might put in an appearance somewhere down the line.
    • Instead of Jim Harper, he could be the Jake Jordan iteration instead and be related to Flip.
  • Ambush Bug: Like in his original comics portrayal, he'll start as a villain using an alien suit that lets him teleport but each use slowly drives him crazy until he awakens multiversal awareness and realizes he's an adaptation of a comic book character on an animated television show and becomes a good (but annoying) heroic ally.
  • Darci, a character who appeared in Superman: The Animated Series, but was done dirty in her second (and final) appearance on Static Shock. I would like to see her, or at least her concept, be given a second chance.
  • Protector (the original short-span Superman villain from "Krypton No More", not the anti-drug hero): He's a super-powered hired muscle for industries that don't comply with OSHA or the EPA and was a partner to the radioactive villain Radion.
  • Radion: An irradiated villain who wants to pollute the world to rule over the mutated.
  • Amalak, a Space Pirate who has a vendetta for Kryptonians as a whole. He has been collecting all the Kryptonite in the universe and will be the one responsible for its landing on Earth.
  • Lumberjack, an Intergang member who wields a super strong ax.
  • Conduit/Kenneth Braverman: Born on the same day that Clark's ship arrived on Earth, exposure to Kryptonian tech/kryptonite slowly mutated him in life. He grew up with a resentful rivalry with Clark up till they graduate from high school. He would awaken the power to generate, manipulate, and project kryptonite energy which eventually leads to him targeting Clark for petty old grudges and then Superman for getting in his way not knowing at first they are the same.
  • The Prankster/Oswald Loomis: This iteration will be a Practical Jokes internet celebrity having more followers than Firebird/Jimmy Olsen. Once Superman becomes the new hot topic in Metropolis, he targets him but repeatedly fails until he decides to gain Fame Through Infamy with his Deadly Prank Gone Too Far.
  • Steel/John Henry Irons: Irons could be an engineer who worked on the technology stolen by Livewire. Perhaps the destruction caused by the tech could make him feel guilty and lead him to don a suit of power armor so he could track down and destroy the tech, becoming an ally of Superman in the process.
    • Alternatively, he'll be saved by Superman and be inspired by him to become a hero on his own.
  • Supergirl/Kara Zor-El: Superman's technically older cousin who is younger than him due to suspended animation shenanigans. Unlike Clark, Kara remembers Krypton's culture and has a harder time fitting in among Earth people.
  • The Elite: They'll try to teach this younger and more unsure Superman how to be a real hero who isn't chained down by old-fashioned values, but eventually Clark will catch onto their more violent nature and try to stop them.
  • Maxima: Like her comic and DCAU counterpart, she wants Superman as her mate for his strength.
  • Lobo
  • Captain Comet/Adam Blake: A mutant born to John and Martha Blake, when a passing comet's radiation activated his genes he becomes a psychic human born 100,000 years too early. He start his heroics after being inspired by Superman's activities.
  • Starstriker: A man who was born the same day as Captain Comet but didn't have his genes activated, feeling fate was denied finds a way to reproduce the radiation to activate his genes becoming Comet's antithesis.
  • Atomic Skull: He could be transformed/empowered by more Kryptonian tech, such as a skull-like helmet or mask. Using it could damage his mind, meaning him delusional. Either Albert Michaels or Joseph Martin would work.
  • Scarlet Scythe: A heavily reimagined (very) minor bad guy whose only resemblance to the character from the comics is his namesake weapon of choice. Said scythe would be a high-tech weapon (basically a lightsaber polearm). He also would have no link to the League of Assassins.
  • The Key: His key-shaped blaster will be more alien tech, with the exposure to its power core replacing the drugs he used to enhance his mind in the comics.
  • Nia Nal/Dreamer: She could be introduced as a shy assistant for Cat Grant, who her live-action counterpart originally worked for, before becoming more assertive as she discovers her own powers and grapples with her alien origin similar to Clark himself.
  • Bruno Mannheim: In Infinite Crisis, he is the leader of the Metropolis chapter of the Intergang, which could be later revealed as being part of the terrorist group it is in the comics and not just the three-man crime group in the show, using alien tech like the three-man Intergang, but at a larger scale.
  • Brainiac: The Kryptonian scenes look an awful lot like a Robot War, and Brainiac is an enemy of the Kryptonians, even said to have helped destroy Krypton at times; the portal we saw opening was him being thrown into the Phantom Zone, and Project Cadmus' meddling with his technology will free him to become Superman's true Starter Villain.
    • Brainiac has already been confirmed to be appearing in Season 1, as the announced voice cast included Michael Emerson as Brainiac.
  • The Ultra-Humanite: He'll appear in his original bald mad scientist form and be used as a Bait-and-Switch, first implying that he's Lex Luthor before his true identity is revealed.
    • Alternatively, they'll first be seen as actress Delores Winters, which would mislead audiences even further.
  • Adam Strange, since he could easily fit into a plot involving alien planets and technology. He could even provide some information about Krypton.
  • Victor Stone/Cyborg and his parents: His father Silas Stone worked for STAR labs and could act as "Superman's scientist friend." The accident that ultimately turns Victor into Cyborg could be related to Kryptonian tech or Phantom Zone shenanigans.
  • Terra-Man/Tobias Manning: An American Western outlaw from the 1800s who was adopted by an alien known as the Collector who killed his biological father. He appears in modern times with alien tech to commit heists with his pegasus-like steed Nova.
  • Doctor Fate, since the Helmet of Nabu had a cameo.
  • Starman, since the Cosmic Staff had a cameo.
    • Stargirl
  • Green Lantern, since their Power Battery had a cameo.
  • The Legion of Super-Heroes: Not only does their flight ring make an appearance, but their origins are also tied to Superman's early days.
  • Mister Miracle and Big Barda, whose appearances could lead to the debut of Darkseid since we saw a Mother Box in the museum.
    • Orion
  • Mister Terrific, since a T Sphere had a cameo too.
  • Blue Devil, his 80s self had a pretty similar energy to the show & being on Adult Swim they don't have to worry about pearl-clutching over the heroic devil (that & being kinda C-list is a big part of why he's been in basically nothing)
  • Hawkman, Hawkgirl, or both, since his/her/their trademark mace had a cameo. They would go with the more sci-fi version and have him/her/them be Thanagarians.
  • Katana, since the Soultaker (may have) had a cameo. She would be initially associated with Task Force X, but would defect and become a vigilante while on the run from them.
  • Animal Man, with them using the "exposure to an alien spaceship" origin for the sake of simplicity.
  • The Rocket Red Brigade
  • Lester Buchinsky/Electrocutioner, a Task Force X agent who is equipped with some of the same tech that gave Leslie Willis her powers.
  • Mortimer Coolidge/The Eel, a criminal who becomes bonded with Kryptonian tech that gives him the power to manipulate water.
  • Honor Guest/The Silencer, a formidable Task Force X agent brought in by Amanda Waller to work alongside Slade Wilson.
  • Carl Sands/Shadow Thief, a low level thief who lucks out when he steals a Kryptonian belt that allows him to become a living, intangible shadow.
  • Taleb Beni Khalid, who will be depicted as the head of Checkmate and, as such, the one who Task Force X answers to.
  • Angelo Bend/Angle Man, a criminal who uses a triangular (Kryptonian?) device to warp the space around him so he "always at the perfect angle".
  • Strobe, a guy who is insanely jealous of Superman who attacks him in a mech suit that can absorb light and project it out as laser blasts.
  • General Zod: In the first season finale, an unnamed “Kryptonian Warrior” (as per the subtitles), implied to be Nemesis Omega, pointedly says “They will kneel.” to Brainiac.
  • Bizarro: Like in most continuities, Bizarro could be introduced as a defective clone of Superman, either created by Task Force X as a bioweapon against Superman or by Lex Luthor as his replacement. However, because his Kryptonian cells are too complex than humans', he slowly deteriorates and becomes unstable. Unlike his more gray-skinned and cracked mainstream counterpart, Bizarro's appearance would look more deformed and monstrous while his mind fractures into a schizophrenic mirror of the Man of Steel. All in all, the most sympathetic villain who never asked to be made.
  • Robert DuBois/Bloodsport: A mercenary hired by Amanda Waller to aid Task Force X in killing Superman. To that end, he'll be kitted out with Kryptonite-based weaponry.
  • Titano the Super-Ape: A failed attempt by Task Force X to recreate the experiment that created Mallah results in a gigantic, Kryptonite-irradiated ape rampaging through Metropolis.
  • Mercy Graves: She'll be first introduced as a villain independent of Lex, possibly as a mercenary or criminal who uses Kryptonian technology. If Alex is indeed Luthor, he'll later be shown contacting her and beginning their traditional partnership.

Lois' family, her father Gen. Sam Lane and younger sister Lucy Lane, could appear.
To show a bit of how the people she grew up around molded how she is. Clark could also meet Gen. Lane and the latter could take a liking to him but shows a paranoiac dislike of Superman.
  • Confirmed. Sam Lane is actually the General running Task Force X.

The military official with Waller at the ending…
…is Sam Lane.
  • Or alternatively, it's Rick Flag.
    • The end credits of "You Will Believe a Man Can Lie" lists his name as “The General”, implying that he's actually Wade Eiling. However, between the fact that he and Lois both have an Asian Race Lift and the series' refusal to mention his real name, it's possible he's a Composite Character with the identity of Sam Lane but the title of Wade Eiling.
    • The General being Sam Lane is confirmed as of "Zero Day, Part 2".

Mr. Mxyzptlk's episode will be a love letter to "Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen".
Jimmy will discover the 5th-dimensional being and have to stop him while Superman is out of commission. Mr. Mxyzptlk will inflict many scenarios and transformations on Jimmy that end up being beneficial, culminating in The Giant Turtle Man.
  • Jossed.

“Bigfoot” is actually Monsieur Mallah.
The cast list confirmed that he and the Brain would be appearing, with Mallah voiced by André Sogliuzzo. So going off the teaser for the fifth episode, Jimmy likely ended up stumbling onto a base where the Brain and Monsieur Mallah are living. Hence why the latter dragged him away.
  • Confirmed in the episode "My Adventures With Mad Science".

Lois' mother didn't die from illness.
She was killed by either Kryptonians or Kryptonian technology. Assuming the General is indeed Lois' father, this would explain both why he has it out for Superman and why he supposedly kept his wife's illness from Lois. She was killed unexpectedly by something The General wasn't allowed to discuss with the public, which includes his daughter. He had to lie about how his wife died because of this which made it seem like they were keeping an illness secret from Lois and it also resulted in him developing a grudge against Kryptonians.

Mxyzptlk is lying about being an interdimensional peacekeeper.
In his usual fashion, Mxy is just playing some elaborate game with Superman, either to manipulate Superman into doing something for him or just for Mxy's amusement. The alternate versions of Lois seen in one promo are likewise just creations of the imp to give more credibility to his lie.
  • The title and first sentence are confirmed, and the second sentence is Jossed: Mxyzptlk was indeed lying to get Superman to help, but the alternates of Lois are real and actually acting as interdimensional peacekeepers.

The League of Lois Lanes will appear again, looking for Superman's help when they're overtaken by Superwoman and Ultraman.
Given that the League's main weapon is Kryptonite, a character actually strengthened by it like Ultraman may prove to be a major problem. They may come to Earth-3 upon discovering an Amazonian Lois and thinking she'll help them only to realize she's a villain. This, of course, will lead to them realizing that not only is this Superman good, but it also will lead them into the light about the possibility of other good Supermen in the multiverse.

The General will steal the piece of Kryptonite from Lois.
Assuming that the General is Sam Lane, he'll visit his daughter and try to reconnect with her. While there, he'll discover the Kryptonite or learn about it from Lois (who is trying to give her father a second chance) and he'll steal it to use in an anti-Superman weapon. This action will completely sour his and Lois' already bad relationship and she'll completely cut ties with him.

The general will learn about Jor-El and Krypton.
The general will find out about the planet's destruction and that Superman was a baby when he came to earth and presumably during zero-day, realizing that Superman had nothing to do with the first zero day.
  • The first part is Jossed, but the second part is semi-confirmed.

If Lobo appears, he'll be played by Karl Urban.
He's already a popular casting choice for the character in live-action, so what better iteration than one where he'll be at odds with a Superman played by Jack Quaid? Maybe as an obligatory reference to The Boys, he'll call Superman a “supe geek.”

Other Rogues Gallery Transplants in My Adventures with Superman.
  • Deadshot: Either as a government agent, like Deathstroke's current portrayal, or an assassin for hire like in the comics
  • Doctor Light
  • The Weaponers of Qward
  • Gorilla Grodd: Could be reimagined as an attempt to recreate the same serum that gave Mallah superintelligence.
  • Madame Rouge: She can be portrayed as a former scientist of Cadmus seeking revenge on the military for trying to silence them.

Vicki's attitude is a reflection of the beginnings of Gotham's systemic anti-meta sentiment.
Comics Gotham is famous for Batman telling Superman to stay out, but what fewer people know is that Gotham's citizens have known anti-meta attitudes. Their extremely distrustful of powers regardless of origin. To the point that the first metahuman member of the Bat Family made serious waves.

Vicki Vale will find herself discredited the moment Superman recovers his reputation.
It's likely that her article will be contradicted by Clark's actions, especially if he saved all of Metropolis. No matter what, it'd likely be an embarrassing look for Vale to have her article on Superman not line up with what Clark was doing. This could lead to her return in a future episode where she's promptly not welcomed by Perry and especially Lois and Jimmy.

Vicki Vale didn’t actually take down the Falcones like Lois claims she did.
It was Batman, of course. At best, Vicki just wrote about it—possibly using sources provided to her by the Dark Knight—and everyone simply assumed that the downfall of the Falcones was entirely the result of her journalism and that she did all the work.

    General
Kryptonian tech is partly organic.
Livewire gained her powerset by being overexposed to it, robots and ships appear to levitate without clear means of propulsion like the Kryptonians themselves, Parasite's suit evolved into something with organs and a skeleton and both Superman and the robots have the same reaction to kryptonite (being “disabled” by it and sprouting crystals).

The stolen technology is actually Kryptonian.
Why else would Superman be getting those visions when he interacts with them?
  • Or reverse-engineered from Kryptonian tech. The General refers to a previous incident.
    • Confirmed. It's revealed the tech was reverse-engineered Kryptonian weapons from Zero Day, the day they invaded.

Kara Zor-El's ship actually landed on Earth at the same time as Clark's as originally intended.
But was discovered by the U.S. Military instead and a botched first contact is responsible for the “Zero Day” incident. Nemesis Zero is probably Zod, but the language barrier meant the government thought the Kryptonians would one day invade Earth, spurring on the creation of Task Force X and their experiments with Kryptonian technology and Kara is still in their custody.

The stolen technology is actually based on Brainiac's tech.
On “Zero Day”, the army encountered a robotic scout force sent by Brainiac to locate Clark's ship. After narrowly defeating the scouts, the army recovered and reverse-engineered the tech to defend themselves in anticipation of the aliens' return – though it'll backfire on them since Brainiac will be able to simply seize control of the tech. Superman getting visions from the tech is possibly because Brainiac stole and incorporated Kryptonian technology into it.
  • In the episode "Zero Day, Part 2" the symbol on the robots are the familiar logo often seen with Brainiac.

The stolen tech and Task Force X tech is powered by red solar energy or something similar.
So far all the tech that really does Clark serious harm, the giant robots energy beam, Slade's heated katana, and the omega field, are all red and source materials have shown Kryptonians get weaker under a red sun.

Since the Lane family in this universe is Korean, the "Lane" surname maybe revised from 내(Nae) or 뇌(Noe).
Or, since Sam's last name hasn't actually been said yet, Lois my be using her mother's name. It would make sense considering her estrangement from her father.

Nemesis Omega and Jor-El are mirrors to Waller and General Sam respectively.
The series seems to be setting up a theme of Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism with Clark's character centering around his idyllic altruism contrasting everyone's cynical distrust in his sincerity. Waller believes in pragmatic militarization to follow orders without question and not take anything on faith, no matter how much it turns out to everyone's detriment. Sam is at least reasonable enough to consider alternatives and call off anything that crosses a line. Jor-El and Nemesis Omega knew Krypton's destruction was imminent, but while Jor-El probably believed in peacefully emigrating to Earth, Nemesis Omega believed that the only way to ensure Krypton's future was through conquest. Perhaps they have surveillance through the gate obelisks on Earth, and NO used armed forces setting up camp around it as justification for his course of action, while Jor-El took a longshot on at least saving his son since all other resources were diverted to the assault. This mirrors the tragedy of Task Force X, they purged Cadmus for being altruistic and regularly endanger the world in their bull-headed adherence to responding with force.

Krypton was destroyed intentionally.
Brainiac's forces had overrun the planet. The Council, Jor-El, or someone else decided It's Better to Die than Be Killed and caused Krypton to self-destruct.
  • Could've been Zod. Or Zod could have been with Brainiac, either subordinate or superior to.

Krypton's Destruction is why Zero Day ended.
Nemesis Omega looked to the side as a blinding light filled the portal. Whatever they were using to create the portal and control the robots was destroyed by the shockwave, assuming it wasn't on Krypton itself.

Nemesis Omega was a malfunctioning Kelex.

Kryptonite is a weapon that targets Brainiac technology, not Kryptonian life.
All powers in this universe/timeline are technological, including Kryptonians' “innate” superpowers. They're infused with nanotechnology or something similar, and Kryptonite affects the nanites just as it does the larger machines. It's an anti-Brainiac weapon.
  • That seems like an awful anti-Brainiac weapon… if he's a computer who controls technology putting it in the bodies of your people, even if it's just your soldiers, is practically setting them up to become his puppet mooks.

More than one bad day.
Clark is more than one bad day, we all are. Because we are more than one day. The moment matters, but what comes before is important, as is what you do after.
  • “One bad day” is relative.
    • Alex's point is one people have been bringing up in regards to Superman for years (some in good faith, others not so much). But that's firmly in the deconstruction half of the conversation, and this is a reconstruction so… this is going to hurt, but end in hope. Because that's what he is: hope.

A version of Ted Lasso exists in the MAWS universe.
See Trent Crimm in the episode "Zero Day, Part 2".

    Season 2

Livewire, Silver Banshee, Mist, Rough House and Heat Wave will band together to form this show's take on either the Superman Revenge Squad or the Elite.

Jimmy and Silver Banshee will become a couple like in the comics, prompting the latter to do a Heel–Face Turn and abandon Intergang all together.

Clark will meet his cousin Kara… but will suffer from a combination of Poor Communication Kills and Innocently Insensitive.
Clark knows very little of Krypton, and many of the events of the first season have painted a negative picture of it in his mind, especially learning of Nemesis Omega and his evil alternate universe counterparts. Clark may end up assuming Krypton was The Empire, an assumption which may not necessarily be correct. Assuming this view is ultimately incorrect, then this could lead to a case of misunderstandings if he were to meet Kara; either assuming she's an enemy alien invader or (if he finds out his family connection to her) assuming she's indoctrinated/uninformed and so not listening to any attempts by her to correct his assumptions.
