    Pre-Release Theories
Arthur Harrow will be a Composite Character with the Sun King.
  • Jossed

The first season will end setting up Bushman as the villain for next season.
The show will slowly reveal what happened to Marc, how he became Moon Knight, and what happened to make Steven his main personality. This will culminate in a flashback showing Bushman killing Marc in Egypt. The series will end with Marc fully taking control back from Steven and vowing revenge.
  • Writer Jeremy Slater said Bushman wouldn't appear, due to the similarities to Killmonger. In addition, Moon Knight is only described as a "6 Episode Event", so it is not guanteed there will be Season 2.
  • Mixed: Marc's origin as Moon Knight is revealed in Episode 5, with it it mostly matching the comic books. However, the Bushman is only referenced and is not seen.

The series will show How We Got Here
The main mystery will be how Steven got to Britain to work at a museum. Much of the show will be about Marc's past as Moon Knight, adapting various iconic moments from the comics. All of it will lead up to a reveal about why Marc needed to transfer control over to Steven and go into hiding.
  • Jossed. The storyline begins with Steven working at a museum, and the events just continue from there. Marc's past is sometimes referenced, though.

A character from the Marvel Netflix shows will appear
As seems to be Marvel Studios’ new plan to slowly integrate the Netflix shows into the overall MCU, a character from the Netflix shows will show up. Bonus points if it’s one of the Defenders (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Danny Rand, or the Punisher).
  • Jossed

The Moon Knight fake quote memes (I know you’re here Dracula you big nerd, where’s my money?) will be referenced somehow
Even though this seems to be the most serious of the Disney+ shows, they’ll work in some humor like this somehow.
  • There will probably be flashbacks to Noodle Incidents where Moon Knight fought crime where they are Ascended Memes or alluded to. Like at one point, maybe he's going down to a spooky basement to fight some vampires and he's threatening to beat them like they owe him money. Or fighting a bunch of mooks and one of whom will yell that he's throwing "random bullshit" at them.
  • Jossed.

Possible Cameos
  • Dane Whitman making an appearance is a common theory online, as he works in the Natural History Museum, and could therefore run into Steven Grant
  • Werewolf by Night, setting up his Halloween special
  • Blade will make another appearance ahead of his movie, perhaps setting up the two working together as members of the Midnight Sons or a new Avengers team
  • Jossed. No crossover cameos happened in Season 1.

Arthur Harrow's cult will worship Khonshu rather than Ra
  • Jossed: They worship Ammit and Khonshu is their enemy.

The mummy suit is Through the Eyes of Madness
It's not real, it's how Marc sees himself whenever he thinks he's possessed by Khonshu or going out at night to beat up Dracula for his goddamn money. If anything, we'll have another more "real" suit that Marc wears that either looks more flimsy and homemade than what we saw in the trailer or it will be a fairly standard MCU tactical redesign. Or it'll just straight up be the Mr. Knight suit.
  • Jossed

Taskmaster will appear in the series
Her comic-book counterpart was one of Moon Knight’s enemies in the Marvel Comics, which would make more sense for her to appear. Except, since She is an Adaptational Heroism character, she will likely help Moon Night with his fears, and help him save the world.
  • Alternately, it's a Legacy Character who took over the Taskmaster gear, someone who trained alongside Marc in lieu of any AI-driven combat mimicry.
  • Jossed

Supporting characters like Marlene and Frenchie will appear
But much like in the 2014 series, they won't have the highest opinion of Marc and will tell him to leave them alone when Steven comes to them for answers about his past.
  • Frenchie is teased in Episode 1, with his name (Duchamp) appearing on Marc's cell phone call log.
  • The credits for Episode 1 show that Steven's friend, the Living Statue, is named Crawley. In the comics, Crawley is a homeless man who acts as Moon Knight's informant.
  • While not directly referenced, Layla's backstory matches Marlene's.

In the trailer, we're not seeing two of Marc's personalities, but three
And the guy in the hoodie, who is driving the donut truck and freaking out at holding a gun in his hand is going to be Jake Lockley.
  • Jossed, that was still Steven.

Khonshu will be a genuine god.
Unlike the Asgardians, who were Sufficiently Advanced Aliens, the Egyptian pantheon of gods will be actually divine.
  • Confirmed, as it is heavily implied in the series.

Mephisto will appear.
Because it's tradition to mention him in speculation for all MCU works after WandaVision. Not to mention the current Avengers comic has Moon Knight and Khonshu going to increasingly extreme lengths to keep Mephisto from coming to power.
  • Jossed.

Jake Lockley will pull a Big Damn Heroes
Since the series seems to delve into Steven discovering that he was Blood Knight mercenary Marc Spector, it's likely that discovering he was a killer will put him into a major Heroic BSoD, especially when he realizes that it's this blood thirst that made him win Khonshu's approval to become Moon Knight. However, at the Darkest Hour, the Jake Lockley persona will emerge, revealing that at some point Moon Knight genuinely tried to become a hero when under Jake's control. It's this slow burn reveal of this third persona that will help Steven come to terms with his mental illness and embrace Moon Knight as more than an avatar for Khonshu's vengeance.
  • Possibly Jossed, as Episode 6 reveals that Jake is more ruthless than Marc. Or in other words, Jake is the Anti-Hero

Layla El-Faouly will turn out to be a renamed canon character
  • Semi-Confirmed. Her character is loosely based on Marlene from the comics.
    • Further confirmed as of Episode 6: Layla is an amalgamation of Marlene and Mehemet Faoul, the second Scarlet Scarab (her father's name is Abdallah El-Faouly, a riff on Abdul Faoul, Mehemet's father and the first Scarlet Scarab).

F. Murray Abraham will also play Marc's father
  • Jossed: Abraham is voicing Khonshu.

The show's true Big Bad will be Ammut
This clip all but states that Arthur Harrow is serving Ammut, with the scales on his wrist even having crocodile heads. Perhaps she is the one that is pulling the strings and will be the true villain that Moon Knight has to fight after Arthur and his henchmen are dealt with.
  • Confirmed in the first episode, Harrow can "judge" someone using a tattoo of someone and infers to Steven that he's trying to release Ammut so she can judge all evil-doers with apocalyptic implications. Considering Khonshu has appeared already it's very likely that Ammut is real as well.

    Post-Release Theories
Steven isn't actually leaving messages for his mother, but rather making voice memos
One of the other personalities subconsciously influenced him to keep some kind of record of his day-to-day activities, which translated into Steven's mind as calling his mother to tell her about it. Breaking this illusion will be one of the kickers to bring Marc back as the primary personality.
  • His mother almost certainly doesn't exist. We never actually see the face of the phone when he's talking/leaving messages for her and the one very brief glimpse we do get suggests it's not unlocked since the face is black.
  • It's possible that Steven thinks his mother exists (he does receive a postcard at the start of the episode), but Marc is likely the one responsible for sending the postcards in the first place to help keep up the charade. The postcard has an Egyptian theme, so it's possible Marc simply picked it up from the museum. It's all but outright stated that Marc is going out of his way to make sure Steven's life isn't disrupted, so he could be playing the role of Steven's "mother" and is using the voicemails to keep himself apprised of Steven's activities.
  • In Episode 2, when Steven tells Layla about his mother, Layla(thinking he's Marc) ask him if he and his Mom "have made up", implying Marc's/Steven's Mom might be real and has a bad relation with Marc/Steven.
  • Mixed. While it's still unknown who Steven was sending the messages to, in Episode 5, we learned that Marc's had an abusive mother, who recently died. This also explains why Layla knew about Marc's Mom, but did not know that she died, as Marc had abandoned Layla without telling her of his Mother's passing.
    • A Freeze-Frame Bonus reveals that Steven isn't even making a call during his mother's shiva—he's just holding the phone up to his ear. Until fake Harrow and Marc make him confront the truth, he has a mental block in place about his mother being alive and getting phone calls.

Steven/Marc has always had DID, but Marc used to be the host
While the show won't be making a perfectly accurate representation of real life DID, it will probably lean into some aspects of it, including the purpose of DID as a survival mechanism. The adventurous Marc spent most of their life as the host (the most prominent alter) and was the one to make the initial partnership with Khonshu, but after their life was endangered one too many times, the meek and risk-averse Steven became dominant. This is why Khonshu refers to Steven as a 'parasite' — he made the deal with Marc and sees Steven as an increasingly frequent nuisance draining Marc's time and resources.
  • Mostly Confirmed. However, 'Steven' was created before Marc became a mercenary.

Related to the above, Steven Grant was a Line-of-Sight Name the whole time
Marc was brainstorming ideas for his new identity and came across newspaper headlines pertaining to events from Captain America: Civil War. He wanted something in the general area of "what Marc Spector is the least like" and latched onto Captain America.
  • Alternatively, if Steven emerged during their childhood and was simply dormant for a long time, his name could have been based on Marc's class learning about 40s Captain America — or even a field trip to the Smithsonian exhibit.
  • Confirmed. According to Episode 4, it comes from the protagonist of an old VHS movie that Marc used to watch called Tomb Buster.

Steven Grant will act as the system's conscience
After Marc did something so gruesome that Jake Lockley, his usual moral-compass-having alter, retreated far into their mind (possibly the equivalent of the comics 'cutting off Bushman's face and wearing it' plotline), Steven either emerged or re-emerged to both protect the system from Marc's self-destructive lifestyle and keep Khonshu from driving Marc to more violent extremes. Marc will absolutely resent this (hence the mirror-kicking 'Shut! Up!' scene in the trailer) but ultimately learn to work together with Steven. Jake will re-emerge during the last episode, possibly the last scene, of the season and tell/show Steven what Marc did that made Jake withdraw, leaving an emotional cliffhanger for the character's next appearance.
  • Speaking of Jake, the Marvel Waiting Room short did have Oscar Issac muttering, "In the end, Ja-" before being interrupted.
    • Mixed: Steven emerged during Mark's childhood to protect him from the worst of his mother's abuse, and is kind, compassionate and non-violent in comparison to Mark's cold pragmatism. They do learn to work together and Jake does show up during the last episode... but it turns out Jake is very much not a moral-compass-having alter.

Ammit's true goal
While Arthur Harrow truly believes that Ammit is a Well-Intentioned Extremist, we'll discover that the true reason as to why she grew tired of waiting for sinners to die before they could be judged is because she wanted to accumulate more power for herself. Reason being that in mythology, Anubis is the one who judges the worthiness of souls while Ammit acts as more of an executioner. Furthermore, the show will reveal that the reason why the gods and Ammit's own avatar "betrayed" her was because she tried to usurp Anubis' position within the hierarchy of the Egyptian pantheon and maybe even attempted to overthrow the pantheon itself.

Mark developed DID from experiencing PTSD from Thanos's Snap
Mark survived the Snap, but witness multiple people being blown into dust. Unlike the Avengers, Mark doesn't know WHAT is going on and suffers a mental breakdown.
  • Jossed: the origin for his DID is explained in Ep 5, and it started long before Thanos snapped his fingers.

A future episode will show the Alpine fights and car chase from Marc's perspective
The sections of the first episode in which Marc/Moon Knight takes over seem like logical material for a flashback in a future episode, contextualizing just how Marc stole the scarab and escaped Harrow's cult.
  • Jossed

Before becoming Khonshu's avatar, Marc was the avatar of Ammit, specifically the one who betrayed her
  • Jossed; the last avatar of Ammit before she was locked away was Alexander the Great, who was buried with her ushabti.

Ammit stole the power to see a person's future from another god
Possibly Anubis. She was still a Well-Intentioned Extremist in doing so, being honest in what Harrow described her goals as, but the other gods were still rather upset over it; seeing nothing wrong with the current system and taking issue with her attacking another god regardless of the reason.
  • Following from this, Steven's comment that the museum poster of the Ennead (the nine primary gods of the Egyptian pantheon) is missing two gods could foreshadow that Ammit has killed or stolen the power of the gods who had restrained her in the past.
  • For extra gore points, Ammit stole Anubis's powers by eating his heart.

Ammit is genuinely a Well-Intentioned Extremist but there's a flaw with her power to see the future of others
Either she can see what a person will definitely do in their lives but her judgement is done with the perspective of a god and she measures someone's guilt in accordance with the views of gods rather than by more traditional morality, or she only sees possibilities rather than certainties and just judges based on the first viewing, not caring if it was possible for them to avoid their fates or if the likelihood of a given possibility is not particularly high.
  • Episode 6 does a lot to confirm this, indirectly at least. Ammit straight-up says Arthur would be judged as a sinner on her scales for something he hasn't done yet. However, by the end of the episode he hasn't done anything (not sanctioned by Ammit herself) to land himself in that category before Jake shoots him dead. It seems likely that Ammit can only detect a possible sin in the future, not a guaranteed one.

Ammit is neither a Well-Intentioned Extremist nor does she want a more powerful status - she is just hungry for more hearts
In this theory, Ammit feels trapped by the ritual of judging people's hearts that she is part of. We already know she doesn't want to wait until people have finished their life cycle to punish them, and instead of wanting to pass justice right away to stop horrible events from ever occurring like Arthur believes she does, Ammit actually wants to be able to devour hearts without having to deal with any restraints. Her enemies - the other gods, her former avatars - knew this and tried to keep her contained, but she managed to convince Arthur that she is looking for judgement and that he must free her. If he succeeds, she'll find a veritable buffet of human hearts wherever she turns, leading to her destroying humanity.

A non-related MCU character will crossover into Moon Knight
All MCU films and Disney+ TV series have at least 1 minor or significant Marvel character that crossovers into another property. Whether in a cameo or supporting role.
  • Rumors have suggested that Emily Vancamp, will reprise her role of Sharon Carter/Agent 13, who was revealed to be the Power Broker in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
  • Jonathan Majors may appear as Kang, as the comic book version of Kang's backstory ties into Egyptian History.
  • During filming, Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Hulk) was spotted at the same hotel, where Oscar Issac was also spotted at. While filming for both Moon Knight and She-Hulk overlapped, this might be more than a coincidence.
  • Or, outside even the established MCU, Apocalypse, since he was an ancient Egyptian. It would be hilarious considering his film incarnation is also portrayed by Oscar Isaac.
  • Jossed

There's something important in the Great Pyramid of Giza
Steven's conversation with the little girl at the start of the first episode, where she says that there's nothing in the Great Pyramid, is especially interesting considering that trailers show Arthur Harrow summoning lightning at the pyramids. Perhaps Ammit is imprisoned at the Great Pyramid, or Marc received his powers from Khonshu there; in either case, it seems plausible that the location will turn out to be significant.
  • Confirmed. It's where the meeting of the Ennead takes place.

Bast will make an appearance
She's a major figure in the Ancient Egyptian pantheon so it more or less makes sense that she will be in the show alongside the other Egyptian deities. Perhaps her relationship with the Wakandans will be explored a little bit more.
  • Jossed, she is nowhere to be seen.

The town in the Alps was in Latveria
Lot of fans I've heard/seen around the 'net are 150% positive that the town in the Alps where Steven woke up in Episode 1 was in the nation of Latveria. Some think this will lead to the introduction of Dr. Doom in the series/franchise.

Jake Lockley is the true Spanner in the Works
Episode 2 implied that something is tearing down the walls that kept Marc and Steven separate from each other. Plus, there are some scenes in the trailers very obviously taking place in already past events that have yet to appear (mainly Marc/Steven waking up in the mid-fall in the Alps). Unless they are Missing Trailer Scenes, we're actually being shown parts of a Once More, with Clarity montage of the times when it's actually Jake in the driver's seat. Maybe due to becoming sick of Khonshu, Jake executed a plan to force Marc and Steven to confront each other so the three personas can tell Khonshu to piss off and they can live in peace. Also, Jake might've been the one who set Steven up on that date with the co-worker.
  • The part about setting Steven up with the co-worker is obvious as Steven definitely didn't do it and Marc is shown in Episode 2 to love Layla too much to ask anyone else out.

Related to the above, Jake Lockley unlocks a third suit.
It'll be based on the black and white suit with a more typical rubberized texture compared to the first suit.

Harrow is abusing Ammit's power in ways even she doesn't approve of or is aware of and is passing judgment for his own ends.
We now know that Harrow can kill people even without the judgment ritual. This may explain why the old lady was judged poorly and why all of his followers thus far have not been old; in his eyes, the old and infirm and the homeless (those without power) can not contribute to the future and therefore are guilty of inaction and inability. However, this may not entirely be Ammit's intent since, unlike with Khonshu, we have yet to hear from her. And in fact, given that she's 'dead', it may be that Ammit doesn't talk to Harrow at all (and we don't see any sign of her in the same way as with Khonshu) and merely projecting his own desires on to her power.

Marc and Steven will eventually change the deal with Khonshu.
Both clearly care for Layla and don't want her harmed or made the next avatar. What Steven has learned as of Ep 2 that Marc hasn't is that for all Khonshu's power, Khonshu can't actually do anything beyond lightly moving stuff in the environment. While obviously, Marc and Steven will remain Moon Knight, the two of them will find a way to ensure that Layla won't be the next avatar by leveraging the fact that as long as they are the avatar, Khonshu has no ability at all to actually affect the real world or express his power. In short, Khonshu needs them - maybe far more than they need him!
  • Khonshu will be more amenable to this after Harrow's speech at the end of episode 3 made him realize that his tactics were what caused — or at least honed — Harrow's murderous attitudes in the first place. He won't completely admit he was wrong — it is Khonshu — but he'll change his approach to justice.
  • Confirmed in Episode 6...but with a twist. Khonshu agrees to Marc's/Steven's deal, that he will leave them in peace. However, Khonshu reveals to Harrow at the end of the episode that he never planned to use Layla as his new vessel. But rather, he secretly made a deal with Marc's unknown alter...Jake Lockley.

Ammit's judgement is inaccurate; it's either completely random or just what Harrow wants
In theory, Ammit tests if someone has or will commit evil in the past, present, or future; if they have evil in their heart, she kills them. This appears to create a utopia, but it's probably selection bias at work.
  • First, everyone who accepts judgement thinks that there is a chance of survival, so nobody who committed evil in the past would be tested. This means that the staff is judging a sample set of entirely innocent people; in other words, anyone found 'guilty' would have done evil in the future.
  • Second, since the staff kills the 'guilty', there is no way to confirm if they would have done anything in the future, since they're, well, dead.
  • So now you have a large group of people who are convinced that they and everyone around them cannot do evil, so everyone can trust one another.
  • That said, Ammit did detect that Steven's heart was chaotic, so she does appear to have genuine power. Or maybe Steven got lucky and the judgement was in his favor.
  • It would go a ways to explain how the cult might have radicalized and such. If there is some amount of survivorship biased going on, then those who don't test themselves but did do something 'evil' - who then see others pass or fail the test in ways seemingly inscrutable to them - might start to justify or rationalize that the actions they've done in the past or will do in the future for the cult are, in fact, good deeds.

Khonshu and/or Ammit will appear in/be referenced by Thor: Love and Thunder
They'll be targets of Gorr along with the Asgardians, Eternals, Bast, and anyone else perceived by lower beings as deities.
  • Jossed, Khonsu and Ammit are not mentioned at all in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Jake asked Steven's coworker out
Marc still has strong feelings for Layla, even if he is distancing himself to keep her safe, which makes him being the one to do it more unlikely.

Jake on the other hand may be much more willing.

Khonshu is lying about wanting Layla as his next avatar
After all, how else would you keep your lackey in line if not by threatening his loved ones? Alternatively, he thinks Layla would be decent but really does like Marc more, and hopes to hang onto him for as long as possible by letting him know that Layla could be a choice.
  • Related: Layla will eventually be taken out of the equation by becoming the avatar for another god — possibly after the previous avatar dies after confronting Harrow and/or Ammit.
    • Perhaps she becomes the avatar for Taweret, given that in some ways she has helped Marc and Steven be reborn as better people.
      • Confirmed as of episode six, although the arrangement is (currently) temporary.
    • Confirmed as of the mid-credits scene of episode six — he already has Jake as a backup!

While Dracula won't appear, Moon Knight will call someone Dracula

It will be a Running Gag for Steven to scream girlishly, happening Once per Episode
  • Episode 4 has him and Marc both give a girly scream upon seeing Taweret.

Ammit is a lot more proactive than in the original myths because of Thanos.
The massive loss of life alone could've easily pushed her to conclude that simply destroying those already judged evil wasn't enough, and that she needed to be proactive to prevent such evil from triumphing again. On a related note...
  • Except she already started judging and killing people for things they hadn't done yet thousands of years before Thanos, hence why she was imprisoned in the first place.

Harrow broke free from being Khonshu's Avatar because Khonshu was actually among those killed during the Snap.
Thanos's genocide was intended to be random, dispassionate... Who's to say the Egyptian gods would be immune? If so, Arthur takes advantage of his freedom to find his own purpose, loses respect for his former patron, and finds purpose with the now more proactive Ammit. When Khonshu comes back five years later, Harrow ignores him, forcing him to recruit Marc. This would also add to his cranky demeanor... He's not only dealing with a problematic successor, he's desperately playing catch-up.

The other alter in Episode 3
The show will try to make the audience believe it's a bloodthirsty version of Jake Lockley, or maybe even have Steven and Marc suspect him when he reveals himself. But really it will be either:
  • Jake but in context he was about to be killed and was forced to defend himself. After Marc blacks out the second time, he finds himself at a seperate location. If the other alter really wanted to kill Ammit's followers, he would have just done it in the market; in reality they captured him after the switch and brought him out of town to execute him quietly. Potentially they even got to the point of stabbing him, but Khonshu healed him and told him what to do in the most mudery way possible. The fact Marc wakes up in a taxi the first time is an allusion to comic!Jake's job as a taxi driver.
  • A version of Khonshu inside their mind, who was created when they died and were resurrected. He won't be a true alter, but a manifestation of Khonshu's influence. This would tie in with the fact the the comics often had Marc hear or speak to a version of Khonshu who wasn't really there, even when there was a real Khonshu around.
  • Alternatively, it could be the show's version of Bushman.

If Jake Lockley shows up in this series, he'll have an Adaptational Job Change much like Steven Grant does
Specifically, Jake will will be an Uber driver instead of a cab driver.
  • Alternatively, he'll be unemployed, either because he was formed more recently than Steven was or because he didn't bother getting a job.
  • As of episode six, he's a limousine driver — for Khonshu.

Episode 4 will end with the other alter taking over the body, setting up Episode 5 as a deeply introspective story where Marc and Steven team up
  • Jossed; the alter is still locked up in a sarcophagus, waiting to be let loose.

Jake Lockley will either get his own version of Moon Knight suit like Steven have with his Mr. Knight suit or wear Marc's Moon Knight suit
According to Mohamed Diab, The logic behind the designs of the Moon Knight and Mr. Knight suits was inspired by who each personality was, what they love, and their imagination. With Grant "completely away from the superhero world", he summons a costume that resembles a suit as Mr. Knight.

So if Jake Lockley were to get his Moon Knight suit, I imagine it would be a bit darker variation of Moon Knight suit since he's likely going to be the most violent personality for Marc/Steven.

The little girl in the museum from Episode 1...
Is either an avatar of Anubis or even Anubis himself in disguise, because of the "field of reeds" conversation she had with Steven. And like a vulture circling its prey, Anubis is observing Marc because he was cheated out of his soul before, due to the deal he struck with Khonshu.

And with death/danger surrounding him again, Anubis wants to ensure that Marc doesn’t slip through his grasp a second time.

  • Jossed as an ushabti figure of Anubis can be seen in the fourth episode.

The third alter will be an Enemy Within
In the third episode the alter seems to be stopping Marc from learning about Ammit and Harrow, and eventually decides to kill them to stop Marc. This might mean this alter is loyal to Ammit or at least agrees with Harrow's goal and beliefs, and Steven and Marc would have to stop them once they reveal themselves.
  • Jossed - Jake is not only not loyal to Ammit, they're actually the one to kill most of Ammit's followers, and finally Harrow and through him Ammit herself.
Another possible identity for the little girl in the museum from Ep 1
Since he is conspicuously absent from the Ennead meeting in Ep 3, despite being an important part of the mythological Ennead, one of the most powerful Egyptian gods in his own right in both myth and Marvel comics, and having a connection to Khonshu, the little girl could be Ra's avatar. He might want to keep an eye on what the other gods are doing without giving himself away, especially if there is as much strife and suspicion between the gods as the behaviours of Selim and Yatzil, Osiris' and Hathor's respective avatars, suggests. And as the No. 1 deity very much concerned with the cycle of life and death, he, too, would know about Marc's aborted journey to the Field of Reeds, as well as Khonshu dragging him back to the land of the living.

Bushman was the one who killed Layla's father.
Marc mentions his old partner getting greedy, killing everyone at the digsite including Marc himself that led to Khonshu choosing him. Could be his old nemesis from the comics who had a similar antagonistic relationship.
  • It may also be a Canon Foreigner, who nevertheless shares many traits with Bushman.
  • Confirmed in Episode 5

The Third Alter will remain The Unreveal for the rest of Season One.
This way, the creators can milk Nothing Is Scarier and Nothing Is Funnier for all its worth, and then some.
  • Jossed: Jake Lockley, the mysterious third alter, is revealed in The Stinger as the only one still consciously working as Khonshu's avatar.

The mental asylum in episode 4 is some sort of mix of Marc's mind and the Egyptian gods' domain.
This would be why many people there resemble characters seen in previous episodes, as well as why Tawaret was there.
  • Confirmed. It's the Duat.

Marc/Steven will release Khonshu soon after Harrow releases Ammit.
This would lead to a final showdown between the two, now both on even ground. Marc would end up winning, but Harrow would still put up a decent fight.
  • Mixed. Khonshu is released shortly after Ammit, but by Layla. There is indeed a fight between Marc/Steven and Harrow and Layla, who has temporarily agreed to become Taweret's avatar, but Marc/Steven is almost losing until Jake intervenes, defeats Harrow, and kills all other disciples of Ammit around.

If the third alter is Jake Lockley, then his surname would be given a special meaning to him.
Particularly, it would refer to how he was locked inside of Marc's subconscious for so long, and has only recently broken free.

The third alter will initiate a Split-Personality Takeover.
After presumably spending a lot of his time locked away in Marc's mind, with neither him or Steven aware of his existence, he'll decide to push them there too to show them how it felt. This would also lead to Layla and Khonshu having to deal with an almost complete stranger, with no way to know when or if Marc and Steven will ever resurface.
  • Jossed - Jake seems perfectly able to take over the body whenever he wants with Marc or Steven simply blacking out, and doesn't seem interested in "punishing" them, or in taking over for good.

To get back into the "real world" Marc and Steven will have to team up with the third personality.
They will spend a while in the asylum situation, and it will turn out that Number 3 is a vital part of their system, who is needed to escape wherever they currently are.
  • Jossed.

The goat from Episode 4 is another god
When Steven and Layla approach Harrow's camp at Ammit's tomb, they see a goat looking down at them from a cliff, the sun reflecting from his horns. This resembles Khnum, a god with the head of a ram or billy-goat; he is a version of Ra who is connected to the sunset and Ra's travel through the underworld at night. Conclusion: the goat is a shapeshifting Ra, who is observing the whole situation from afar.

The third alter... is Harrow.
Harrow doesn't exist, or at least, not as we know. Instead, the Harrow we've seen is merely a puppet following orders from the real Harrow who fronts during interactions.
  • A Shabti perhaps?
  • Jossed. It's Jake Lockley.

Shadow Knight will appear in the post-credit of Episode 6
  • Marc’s brother never reach adulthood due to dying from drowning at a young age, there’s a chance either Layla becomes Shadow Knight or an alternate version of Randall as Shadow Knight somehow got transported in MCU to find his brother.
    • Jossed.

A returning Marvel character makes a cameo at the end of Episode 6
  • There’s a chance a returning marvel character is considering either recruiting Moon Knight as a new Avenger member or capturing him for killing criminals.
    • Jossed. No other established MCU characters appear, leaving Moon Knight completely self-contained... for now, at least.

The third personality will take control of Marc’s body completely and kills Harrow
  • With both Marc and Steven gone, the third personality is the only personality left and they will be the ones to kill Harrow.
    • Confirmed, but not necessarily as this theory suggests. Marc and Steven are brought back and living their own lives, but Jake kills Harrow after taking him from the hospital he was staying at and has his own contract with Khonshu that Marc and Steven aren't aware of.
    • Mostly confirmed in The Stinger. While Marc and Steven aren't gone, they choose to spare Harrow and leave him locked up in an asylum. Jake shows up to actually finish him off.

The cause of Wendy Spector’s death will be revealed
  • It was never stated how Marc’s mother died. Wendy's death might be revealed in future seasons.
    • Marc’s mother died from the Decimation/Snap and suddenly came back five years later.
    • Marc’s mother died from excessive drinking.
    • Marc’s mother was secretly murdered by Marc’s third personality.
    • Marc’s mother killed herself, wanting to be reunited with her dead son.
    • Marc's mother was judged by Harrow, who will bring up doing so as an example of how his methods are justified. This will backfire because it will just make Marc even more pissed off at him after what happened to Steven.

The Oscar Isaac with a bruised face and cut across the nose isn’t Marc or Steven
  • It’s Jake Lockley. Marc and Steven are never seen with these injuries throughout Episode 5. His voice and way of talking are different from them, and he behaves more aggressively, to the point he has to be heavily sedated.

The third personality is the embodiment of Marc’s resentment and pain from his mother
  • Given the third alter's brutal nature, it wouldn’t be surprising if it’s revealed he is a very angry person filled with hate.

Alternatively, the third personality could represent how Marc's mother made him see himself
  • For years, Marc's mother blamed him for the death of his brother, basically calling him a murderer. He could have internalized her words and created an alter that was the monster she saw in him.

  • The people seen going to Harrow for Ammit's judgment wouldn’t do so if they had ever committed evil or had any intention of doing evil in the future, yet some are surprised to find out that they will. That’s because Ammit doesn't look to see if the person will do anything that would be considered conventionally evil; rather Ammit looks to see if they will do anything the TVA disapproves of. If the TVA decides that the Sacred Timeline will continue in their absence, but their continued existence would cause a Nexus Event, they die.

Alternatively, Ammit's ability to see the future is based on her being able to know the Sacred Timeline, and the re-emergence of the Multiverse has screwed that ability up
Basically, Ammit has knowledge of the Sacred Timeline's workings and has a "rough script" allowing her to see a person's future along the Sacred Timeline. Problem is, with the death of He Who Remains in the Loki Season 1 finale, "free will" has been returned to the Sacred Timeline and Ammit can no longer accurately tell what someone's actual future actions are since she can now inadvertently perceive their future actions from another part of the Multiverse (as in, another possible future). This is in part why Ammit is so fervent in ignoring that her ability to see the future doesn't seem to be completely accurate: She's possibly unaware of the Multiverse having returned, and so doesn't get why her predictions are potentially wrong when they were previously correct up to this point thanks to the Multiverse having been destroyed.

Layla will become the avatar of Taweret
With Marc stuck in the Egyptian paradise afterlife, and Steven essentially left for dead in the sands of the Duat, and Taweret noting that she cannot send them back to life in their body because they would die without the powers of Khonshu, who is sealed away, outside help must come from a different source. Each of the Ennead appear to have their own avatar on Earth, but Taweret's, if she has one, conspicuously hasn't been seen. She could empower Layla to help her fight the cult and, ideally, free Khonshu so that Marc and Steven can survive. It also would fit well with Marvel Studios' recent push for more diversity in their array of superheroes and put Marc/Steven and Layla on a more equal footing as a Battle Couple. It would also help keep her out of Khonshu's clutches for the foreseeable future.
  • Confirmed, though Layla stresses that it is only temporary.

Ammit will kill Harrow upon being brought back to life
Harrow believes that Ammit will bring peace to the world, but upon summoning her, the first thing Ammit is gonna do will be killing Harrow for foolishly bringing her back.

  • Jossed. Ammit does note that Harrow's scales are unbalanced, but chooses not to kill him after seeing how loyal he is to her cause.

The third personality will be released now that Marc and Steven are gone.

Unless the last episode pulls some kind of trick to at least get Marc back, he and Steven are out. That leaves the third personality to take over now that there’s nothing to keep him away. He’ll take it upon himself to finish what Marc and Steven began, before moving on to start a new life of his own.

  • Sort of confirmed? Marc and Steven are brought back to life, but Jake was the one who took down Harrow and his followers and later kills Harrow in the post-credits scene.

What if… Marc drowned instead of Randall?
  • Wendy Spector will either blame Randall for Marc’s death, or she’ll grow more protective of Randall, not wanting him to die like Marc did.
  • Randall will use a different coping mechanism than Marc did.
  • Randall will either become the avatar of Khonshu or another god, depending on the path he takes as an adult.
  • Randall will be unacquainted with Layla, as he likely didn’t go on the same expedition as her father.

The last episode will show someone drinking a glass of water.
This would serve as a Book Ends for the start of the series, where Harrow did the same thing. Main difference will be that the other person does not break the cup and put the shards in their shoes. Bonus points if it’s Marc/Steven/the third personality.
  • Confirmed in the mid-credits scene, Harrow is seen with another cup in the Mental Facility. Though it didn't appeared to be water.

Randall may come Back from the Dead as Shadow Knight in the future.
Since it's confirmed that more than one afterlife exists, some entity might use his soul to create him, still being a Tragic Villain who pities what Marc had to go through since, and tried punishing their mother's spirit for being too hard on him.

Wendy Spector passed away from cirrhosis.
The flashbacks that take place after Randall's death suggest Wendy resorted to drinking heavily to cope with the loss and that's why she abused Marc, leading him to create Steven. What if Wendy didn't stop drinking from that point onward? All those years of drinking surely took their toll.

Harrow will bring up Wendy to try and win Marc over to his side
Harrow's powers allow him to see into the pasts of others by his own admission and it's likely that he's been able to get a good read of Marc's by this point. He'll bring up the point that if Ammit had been free then Wendy would never have been allowed the chance to abuse Marc like she had. This will not be a smart idea on Harrow's end. Marc will not take this attempted manipulation well at all. He'll point out that as much as he hated Wendy for her abuse he never wanted her dead and will go as far saying that in his eyes his mother died with his brother and whatever was left behind was just some hollow mockery of her that stuck around until she was buried.

  • Jossed. He brings up his brother Randall instead.

Layla will come to embrace being Scarlet Scarab
Despite her stressing that her being Taweret's avatar is supposed to be temporary, she may come to actually like it. A seed of this could've been planted when the girl she saved asked her if she was an Egyptian superhero. More importantly, Taweret isn't like Khonshu and Ammit - They were just trying to help save lives and doesn't appear to be demanding Layla to do anything too extreme. Given Layla's objections to killing, they may even come to have a better understanding than the other Egyptian gods and their avatars.

Jack Lockley will be the MCU version of Shadow Knight
Or at least, his suit will be based off of Shadow Knight. Given that Randall passed away young and how Mr. Knight was adapted to be Steven’s alter ego, this wouldn’t be too much of a stretch. Plus Jake is clearly the more “evil” of the three.

After this series, Moon Knight will be Put on a Bus.
His actions will be brought up (as will the Egyptian gods), but himself will not be seen since he's not known in the wider superhero community. His absence would also allow Oscar Isaac to pursue other projects.

If there is a Season 2, or a future MCU project involving Moon Knight, Marc and Steven will have a Battle in the Center of the Mind with Jake.
As much as Jake and Khonshu would like to keep his existence a secret from them, Marc and Steven will eventually realize that they're still bound to Khonshu through Jake. This, and other events, would lead to a battle between the personalities over this, and Jake will ultimately be supressed within their subconscious and his contract with Khonshu dissolved, allowing Marc and Steven to finally live their lives free from Khonshu's control.
  • Alternatively, they will realize that because Jake has a deal with Khonshu, they can access a (limited) set of his powers without Khonshu's explicit consent, similar to how Steven was initially able to summon the suit even though it was Marc that made the original deal. This would how Marc and Steven can evolve into a more active superhero while maintaining and controller Khonshu and Jake's more... extreme tendencies.

Layla will get her own spinoff show.
Disney and Marvel have already greenlit series for Agatha Harkness and Echo after their appearances in WandaVision and Hawkeye, so it wouldn't be entirely surprising. Plus it would give them a chance to use Layla and her new Scarlet Scarab alias, as well explore more of Egyptian mythology and its place in the MCU. They could have Jake Lockley appear, either as a deuteragonist or as an antagonist for Layla to fight.

Marc/Steven/Jake will get himself in legal trouble because of his actions as Moon Knight. And he will need an attorney to help him... enter in Jennifer Waters

Marc being surprised at Steven's apartment is because he's never really seen it
Marc is surprised to see Steven's apartment which, when you think about it, seems strange since we have been lead to assume that Steven's 'sleepwalking' was Marc getting up and leaving. But if that was the case, Marc wouldn't be surprised to see the state of the apartment since we also know that the various safeguards Steven setup would need to be reset and such; he would HAVE to be paying attention in order to have even the slightly chance of resetting things properly.

The only other option is that Jake is the one getting up and out of the apartment. He was serving as the bridge between the two lives and keeping the two of them separate (insofar far as his role in the system is concerned). And since we know that time and memory can be hazy for each alter as well as each alter being capable of 'editting' memories to protect the system (such as Steven not being allowed to know about their trauma). So Jake would get up, leave the apartment, then draw Marc to the front who would assume that Steven happened to be wherever they were. And then when Marc was done, he'd slip away thinking that Steven would front but it would actually be Jake who would front. Jake would then clean up, return to the apartment, and reset.

Jake Lockley will have a Face–Heel Turn in a future season.

B-movie archeologist Steven Grant was in fact named for Captain America

Jake doesn't have a different suit... at least not initially.
While the Doyalist explanation may be relating to the differences between Marc and Steven, the reason Steven has the Mr Knight suit is because he had no idea what the Moon Knight suit looked like, and interpreted "Summon the suit" by imagining Mr Knight. Jake, presumably, knew about the ceremonial armour like Marc did, and used it just like Marc.

Furthermore, while they do mostly avoid bringing it up anyway, to preserve the wham moment of Jake's arrival, Layla didn't mention a third suit, so whatever Jake did, she presumably assumed it was Marc, still in the Moon Knight suit.

However, if he is aware of the exploits of Marc and Steven, it is possible Jake will alter his suit to differentiate. Alternatively...

Marc will change his suit in Season 2.
Assuming Jake is using the same suit as Marc and assuming that Marc and Steven retain their powers, since Jake is still a part of them and connected to Khonshu (and assuming that marvel does make a season 2) it is possible that Marc will change his suit design in some way in season 2, for one of a few reasons.
  • To make it easier for his allies to differentiate between Marc and Jake (as well as the audience)
  • To show that he's no longer directly serving Khonshu.

Season 2 will include a flashback to show Jake defeating Harrow.
While cool, a fair few watchers were disappointed that we didn't actually see Jake beat Harrow, so including the fight in season 2 would serve as an Author's Saving Throw.

How Jake was created.
While we know that Steven was created due to the abuse Marc suffered by his mother, we never found out what made Jake. The things we DO know however is that:
  • Jake is far more skilled than both Marc and Steven, able to turn the tide in the Final Battle singlehandedly and dominate Arthur and his followers.
  • Jake appears to have a much healthier relationship with Khonsu than his other personalities, regarded as a friend by the Moon God.
  • Jake speaks Spanish.
My theory is that while Marc created Steven to cope with his mother, he created Jake to cope with being Khonsu's Moon Knight. Maybe it was after his first assignment, a vicious Spanish speaking criminal who managed to push a fledgling Moon Knight to his limits. Similar to how he created Steven based on a fictional figure, he created Jake from an existing person to take up his traits, in this case bloodlust which would make his job easier. Jake is the part of him that, like Arthur before him, enjoys the Battle and conflict and is fully behind Khonsu's goal. His very existence is fighting and killing, explaining why he is so good at it. Jake was supposed to be the scapegoat and perfect warrior, but something went wrong in Marc's fractured mind and he blocked Jake, imprisoning him mentally in the red Sarcophagus we see in the show. Now he was reduced to something more akin to an emergency powerup... till Khonsu freed Marc and Steven and focused all his power to Jake, setting him free once more.

Evil Khonshu: Randall Spector did not die on accident and Wendy Spector's abuse of her son was not the sole cause of his DID.
The death of Randall happens offscreen. Obviously showing young children die is a rarity in media, but in particular, this allows the creators to obscure the exact cause of his death. The bird skeleton in the flashback allows the interpretation that Khonshu has been watching Marc since early childhood. Jake Lockley is the most violent and most devoted of the Moon Knights. It's plausible that Jake's origin is tied up with Randall's death, perhaps revealing that Marc actually did kill his brother intentionally, causing his mind to fracture under the horror of his mother devolving into alcoholism and violence due to correctly perceiving this.

Elias Spector may have helped create Jake Lockley.
Given what happened to her mental state, it's possible that Elias might not have been safe from Wendy either, eventually making him crack under the pressure of being an Extreme Doormat and lash out at Wendy for what she's put them through, still being a enough a traumatic event to make Marc forget, but have what would become Jake remember for him instead, which was probably fine by his dad. Thus part of Jake could possibly represent both his and Elias' feelings of not being able to stand up for themselves or each other. Bushman could have also been involved for all we know.

Jake Lockley will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Blade movie.
Since Blade was introduced in The Stinger of Eternals, it's possible the man operates in London like Moon Knight does. If so, Jake'll briefly serve as a surprise getaway driver for the titular character and/or Dane Whitman, where we'll get to see how he Drives Like Crazy during dangerous situations. Afterwards, he'll tell Eric and Dane that he'll be "somebody else" before bidding them farewell.

Future Marvel works Marc/Jake/Steven could appear in
  • Secret Invasion (It is a big crossover event)
    • Jossed. Guess they changed their minds about it being a big crossover event.
  • Echo (Marc and Maya had a fling in the comics. In the MCU, however, if Echo takes place before Moon Knight, Jake could be Maya's temporary love interest.)
    • Jossed. The two shows take place at around the same time.
  • Armor Wars
  • Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (At this point, Marc is a new superhero, too)
  • What if...? season 3
  • Spider-Man 4
  • Daredevil: Born Again
  • Captain America: New World Order (He is rumored to appear, anyway)
    • Jossed. The director confirmed in a tweet that Moon Knight (amongst others) will not be in this movie.
  • Thunderbolts
  • Blade
    • Jossed. Blade is set in the '60s
  • Deadpool 3
    • Jossed. Apparently only Fox Marvel character will appear and not other "legacy" characters.
  • Avengers: Kang Dynasty
  • Avengers: Secret Wars
  • Black Panther 3 (If nothing else, they could address the fact that Bast wasn't involved in Moon Knight)

Moon Knight will face a variant of Kang who will be using his Rama-Tut identity in the future.
Whether it be a future season of his own show or in The Kang Dynasty, it would be a great way to connect Marc/Steven/Jake to the conflict regarding Kang while still being set in Egypt where he primarily operates.

As part of their deal, Konshu and Jake are trying not to get Marc or Steven involved anymore.
Since Konshu only needed Jake, who seems to be serving him by choice, Marc and Steven are still no longer required to, so they're trying to help them live in peace while Jake takes things off of their hands.

Once Harrow enters the Duat...
He will tell Taweret exactly who killed him and how/why as one last F you to Khonshu. Taweret will ask Layla for confirmation, then Layla will confront Marc/Steven (whomever is fronting), and that's how Khonshu's secret will be revealed!

Bast's avatar is whoever holds the mantle of the Black Panther
As such, her current avatar is Queen Shuri.
