Boscha spends her week relaxing as she catches up with her family and friends.

Tropes that appear in this Chapter:

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Scarol, Ukla's mother, debuts before the events of "Hollow Mind", when in canon she debuted in "Eda's Requiem".
  • Affectionate Nickname: Scarol calls her husband "Morry".
  • Berserk Button: Upon seeing Nicole's wanted poster on the bounty board, Tom incinerates it into ashes.
  • Breather Episode: This chapter is to Boscha what "Amity in Echo Creek" had been to Amity; a no-stakes break from the drama with no villain encounters for the girl that's getting A Day in the Limelight.
  • The Bus Came Back: Yuki makes her first physical appearance since "After the War".
  • Call-Back:
  • The Cameo: Tamme, Eve, Andrea, and Tyler are among the guests at Boscha's readmittance party.
  • Commonality Connection: During the pool day, Athena and Sheila bond over their feelings about failing as mothers.
  • Continuity Cameo: Tibbles appears as one of the clients Boscha's friends completes a quest for.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • A few nods are made to "House Brooken", such as the meeting L.O.W.T.H. that Nina attended and Chelsea remembering what Nina had said to her about the werecats at the Torso Villa using Casey as a means to voice their complaints.
    • When Team-Without-A-Name delivers the slime from the sludge monster to their client Tibbles, he appears very roughed up. This is due to the disasterous presentation at Blight Industries that occured in "It's a Nice Day for a Witch Wedding".
    • It's noted that almost two weeks have passed since the scarfish incident. During the pool party at the Nightshade home, Boscha, Gavin, Angmar, and Ukla reuse the same swimsuits as they had at Tibilias Bay.
    • Sarah's interest in Jerbo is brought up during the stakeout.
    • Angmar reminds Gavin of their blackmailing Matt and manipulating Gus so they could lure Luz and Amity into a trap.
  • Crush Blush:
    • Boscha hides one when Simon tells Tom that she told his family about him.
    • Kyle has one after Ukla praises him for defeating the slime monster stopping the gang from retrieving Hotep Koff's amulet; Tom assumes he was catching a cold from freezing the monster.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Boscha, her family, her friends, and Tom all receive a chance to shine as their adventures throughout the week are explored. Kyle is also granted some focus.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Much as Gavin and Angmar hate Emily and Nina, they're disturbed when Jeremy tells them about how lycan witches are put down like beasts by the Emperor's Coven and by how he respects Mel for what she did to Emily. And this was before we found out the Inner Demon was sinking his claws into Gavin's mind.
  • Expy: Hotep Koff is revealed to be one to Mumm-Ra.
  • Foreshadowing: There are a couple of hints that give away Gavin being tormented by the Inner Demon as the week progresses;
    • He starts closing himself off from everyone in his life and doesn't talk about his problems.
    • While on a stakeout, Sarah notices when she meets up with him that Gavin was talking to himself.
    • He progressively gets angrier to the point that he acts on impulse and does something out of character for him, like attacking Emily out of nowhere.
  • The Friends Who Never Hang: On Tuesday/Toesday, Gavin and Angmar decide to hang out with Tom since Hunter's on BIG training duty and Boscha's on Earth for Luz and Amity's faux wedding. Joined by Ukla and Kyle, the quintet spend the day taking bounties, one being to recover a missing amulet belonging to Hotep Koff for Clockwork Cab.
  • The Ghost: Lucifer Morningstar is mentioned by Tom, whose mother has met with him in the past.
  • Given Name Reveal: Jeremy's last name isn't "Regal" like Amelia, it's Grift.
  • Hidden Depths: Gavin and Angmar show themselves to enjoy going on quests and bounty hunts.
  • An Ice Person: Kyle gets to show off his ice magic, which successfully defeats the slime monster.
  • If Only You Knew: Jeremy happily talks about Emily being gone for good to Gavin and Angmar, unaware of what they know about the disgraced illusionist.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Tom meets the Saltstars (Cain included) and Kyle for the first time.
    • Gavin, Angmar, and Ukla learn that Tom and Athena have been released from the Conformatorium because of Hunter.
    • Gavin tells Angmar about the meeting with LOWTH, Nina and Donna being old friends, and Nina telling them the further scope of Emily's actions in exchange for helping her find Casey.
    • Boscha's friends tell Kyle about Nicole getting Athena and Tom arrested, plus her trying to off Vitimir and getting labeled a criminal for it.
    • Boscha's friends and Kyle visit Torso Villa and meet Chelsea and Clockwork Cab for the first time.
    • Athena meets Sheila for the first time.
    • Luz tells Boscha about what occurred at the IFWOT and how Bump beat Faust in order to reclaim his job.
  • Interspecies Romance: Downplayed. Ukla's parents are a gecko biped demon (her father Morakis) and a lizard biped whom she resembles (her mother Scarol.)
  • Jerkass: Delara had dedicated her life to making things better for all witches. Osran, on the other hand, has been undoing all of her hard work, like raising the cost to afford treatment at the Oracle Institute.
  • Mythology Gag: Two of the bounties Boscha's friends go after are Garlog the Destroyer and the Abominable Cutie Pie.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Ukla's mother is now known as "Scarol Ulma".
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Once Tom hears about the bigotry towards werecats and how the witches of the Isles still fear them, he remembers how things had been on Mewni and has to process it.
  • Once More, with Clarity: Boscha is shown telling Gavin, along with the rest of her friends, about the trip to the Underworld and Emily's return thanks to Eda allowing Cross and Lindsay to bring her back.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Angmar and Sheila take note of Gavin becoming more distant. During a private talk, the former points out to his friend that he acted recklessly by attacking Emily when she hasn't bothered them or anyone else, and becomes alarmed when Gavin declares he wants to give Emily and Nina what they deserve himself.
  • Parents as People: After Athena and Sheila admit their shortcomings as mothers being there for their kids, Sheila tells Athena that she understands Darius tried his best to be a good father to Gavin only to end up putting his work first.
  • Pool Scene: On Thursday, Boscha and her friends have a pool party at the Nightshade residence with Athena joining them to spend time with Sheila.
  • The Reveal:
    • Tom mentions that his mom has had dealings with Lucifer Morningstar.
    • Boscha's birthday gift to Willow was a pair of letterman jackets for her and Skara.
    • Sheila got locked up in the Conformatorium for stabbing a handsy goblin at the adult bar she worked at (which was shut down for health code violations) and for not being in a coven. She met Darius while he was William's apprentice and chose to join the Abomination Coven so she could be with him.
    • Osran's not only undoing all of Delara's work for the betterment of all witches, he's been raising prices which prevents treatment at the Oracle Institute for witches who aren't of wealth.
    • Not only did Athena decide to go back to using her maiden name, she and Boscha legally changed their surnames to "Saltstar" on Thursday.
    • Boscha talked to Amity about changing her name during the faux wedding reception.
    • Ulka and Cain had once been friends until Cain started working under Emily.
    • Luz offered Boscha the chance to join her family, Willow, Gus, and Skara in their visiting the Longs, but Boscha refused the offer to spend time with her family and Tom.
    • The Inner Demon has been plaguing Gavin, and he attacked Emily on her date with Lindsay out of impulsiveness.
    • Ukla knows how to use a shield spell which her father Morakis taught her.
  • Rule of Symbolism: Boscha's grudgby jacket is given back to her not just confirming that she's being reinstated as the Banshees' team captain, but showing that she's been fully reaccepted into Hexside by her friends.
  • Sequel Hook:
    • With Athena's help after Ukla asks Boscha to put in a request, Yuki is admitted to the Oracle Institute for mental treatment.
    • The shaman that returns Hotep Koff's amulet to his mummified body seems to have reawakened him.
    • Nicole isn't pleased that her daughter's life has gotten better without her and is going to do something about it.
  • Shipper on Deck: The Saltstars fully support Boscha and Tom's relationship, with Beck smiling after catching Boscha's Crush Blush and asking the two about whether they've gone on dates.
  • Ship Tease: On Toesday, Kyle approaches Ukla to spend time with her but since she's going to hang out with her friends, she invites him along for an adventure. He offers her his condolences after learning about Yuki's condition, she's impressed by how he took down the slime monster standing between them and the amulet of Hotep Koff, and when Kyle modestly brushes it off, Ukla praises him causing him to blush.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The title "Looking Through My Three Eyes" is a play on to the Phil Collins song "Look Through My Eyes" from Brother Bear.
    • Boscha's friends track down one of Dusty's beasts; a three-headed heron called a Hertrio.
  • Status Quo Is God: After being kicked off the grudgby team and barred from playing sports on school grounds last season, Boscha gets reinstated as team captain after Principal Bump revokes her punishment due to her friends putting in a good word for her.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: Chelsea is confused by how Tom (who isn't a native to the Isles) doesn't know anything about werecat culture, assuming he's either new to the Isles or sheltered. Tom doesn't exactly rebuff or support either assumption.
  • Talking to the Dead: When Gavin is first seen, he's writing a letter to Darius detailing how the previous week has gone. It's likely his way of coping with his father's death.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone:
    • The whole chapter gives Boscha several bones; she and Tom go on their first date, she and Athena cut themselves off from Nicole by taking the Saltstar name, and after her friends put in a good word to Principal Bump, her ban of not playing sports has been lifted; she's back on the grudgby team as its captain.
    • Boscha also throws a few bones of her own; she starts visiting Cain at the Construction Coven and when she hears from Ukla that Yuki's parents can't afford to send their daughter to the Oracle Institute for treatment, she asks Athena to pay for it and she agrees to.
  • Titled After the Song: The chapter name is based off the song "Look Through My Eyes", meant to highlight the past week now being experienced from Boscha's point of view.
  • The Un-Reveal: Lampshaded when Angmar questions what Tibbles would use the slime they got for him for. Ukla tells him they're better off in the dark.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Before becoming one of Emily's enforcers, Cain used to be friends with Ukla. While he is remorseful for his actions and gives condolences for Yuki, Ukla makes it clear she isn't going to forgive him for his crimes.
  • Wham Shot:
    • When school ends on Frieday, Luz leads Boscha to the grudgby field where a party has been set up for her and all her friends and much of the cheer squad have gathered. After Principal Bump announces that he's lifting Boscha's sports ban, Amelia and Cat present to her her grudgby jacket.
    • As the Saltstar family prepares to head out to celebrate Boscha's return to grudgby, Nicole is shown watching her former daughter from outside.
  • The World Is Just Awesome: Tom jumps at the chance to see more of the Boiling Isles and accepts the bounty that takes him to the Torso Villa. He asks Chelsea several questions about werecat culture only to find out that they've been segregated from the rest of the Isles even after becoming tamer with each generation.
