Art by Crash X Fusion: Get Your Game On!
As Luz and Camila visit their godfamily on Earth while Eda and Star meet up with their own friends, Dipper and Amity find common ground with other people.

Tropes that appear in this Chapter:

  • Affectionate Nickname: To differentiate human Gus from witch Gus, Luz takes to calling Gus Gordon "Double G". Vee's also taken to using "Mash" for Masha.
  • All Myths Are True
  • Alternate Universe: The DuckTales (2017) cast is confirmed to come from one, hinted at by how Della helped defeat Magica with Scrooge, the kids, and Lena instead of Donald.
  • AM/FM Characterization: All of the Gatesfield teens have part of their personalities identified based on their choices in music; Clara shows typical preppy interests such as Selena Gomez but has an appreciation of Paul McCartney, Masha shows a diverse interest which includes Gorillaz!, Dana and Rudo pick out CD's with parental advisory stickers at the music store, and Gus G. shows he's a fan of Green Day during the battle royale.
  • An Aesop:
    • Don't hide your interests from your loved ones, for they could show just as much interest and want to enjoy them for themselves.
    • People may not understand one's problems, but that doesn't mean they can't offer their support.
    • Some mistakes can't ever be forgiven.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: Clara questions if Maya technically counts as Luz's palisman since she protects her in times where she can't defend herself. Unsure of how to answer that, Maya retreats into Luz's mindscape to think it over.
  • Badass Normal: Abigail reveals that she had been trained in all forms of martial arts during her four years with the Huntsclan, which she demonstrates by restraining Probabilitor and threatening to break his arm so he forfeits the battle royale.
  • Better as Friends: Because of everything that's happening, Lilith and Odalia both agree that it's best for them that there be nothing left between them over what occurred during their trip into the past.
  • Blue Is Heroic: Overlapping with Good Wears White, Clara and Vee both wear half-blue outfits in the battle royale.
  • Breather Episode: Just like canon-"Dungeons, Dungeons, & More Dungeons", this acts as one for the Boiling Isles residents to an extent despite Luz, Camila, and Star getting wrapped up in another villain encounter. There's also the plot points of Dipper and Ford beginning to bond, Eda meeting Magica, and Trini causing trouble for Lilith on Mel's orders.
  • Brick Joke: When the Gatesfield teens discuss what kind of music Luz would likely be into, Rudo suggests Santana. Later at the music store, Luz picks out a "Best of Santana" CD to buy.
  • The Bus Came Back: After a large absence since "Going Through Changes" and a mention in "Back to the Falls", Schmebulock returns as Luz brings him back to Gravity Falls.
  • Call-Back:
    • Luz and Camila return to Gravity Falls to make good on their promise to spend time with Clara and Abigail back in "Closing the Gates". Likewise, Star joins them so she can hang out with Vee again.
    • The Bonesborough Titan Temple, which was first introduced in "Prelude to War: Part 1", reappears with the Clawthornes being invited to attend Titan service.
    • Lilith takes up Odalia's offer to eat out, and they take the time to tell each other what happened between them in Deadwardian-Bonesborough was merely a fluke.
    • Camila mentioned back in "Escape from Gatesfield" that Manny had to sign a non-disclosure agreement form that prevented him from telling her what project he was working on for Department A. Abigail tells Luz and Camila just what he and all the others engineers, including Luke, were doing and that they were just as in the dark as Camila and Nora.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Ford finds himself on the receiving end of Luz chewing him out all day, be it over neglecting Dipper or keeping the infinity-sided die in a cheap plastic case.
  • The Cameo: The Jeepers, Barkowski, and Row families all appear in full at the Titan service, with Slasher, Calypso, Scabrina, Moose, Viney, Betty, and Atkins also appear, with Viney, Atkin, and Scabrina being the only ones to speak.
  • Catch-22 Dilemma: Parodied as a "Jordan-16".
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Lampshaded. Abigail and Nora talk about how the citizens of Gravity Falls easily accepted the damage to their town being a result of an earthquake; Abigail contributes it to Weirdness Censoring since adults are more skeptical.
  • Connected All Along: Witch Hazel and her book club not only has Eda as a member, but the Hand Witch as well.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Luz, Eda, Amity, Willow, and Gus reuse their grom outfits for Titan service.
    • Clara and Gus G. are still awkward around each other since they're in the middle of working things between them out.
    • Luz brings Schmebulock back to Earth after he got stuck in the Boiling Isles in Chapter 31 and popped up a few times since then.
    • While in the Gravity Falls arcade, Masha and Dana play "Fight Fighters" and Rudo finds the secret code for bringing the game's characters to life.
    • The Jonas Brothers and Prince are referenced again, this time while the Noceda's and the Gatesfieldians are in the music store.
    • Luz recaps her battles with Emily and Ms. Heinous/Meteora in "Masks Off" and "What is it Good For". Camila also recalls watching Craig die in the former.
    • Gus G. shows off his guitar playing capabilities, which had been demonstrated in the Dual Sequence entry of the "Intro Sequence Contest".
  • Contrived Coincidence: Luz admits to the Gatesfield teens that "Thunderstruck" playing at the same time she made her entrance at the mall was one of these.
  • Crush Blush: Clara blushes when Masha hugs her after the kids win the game, and Star and Vee share one over the former calls the latter pretty by mistake.
  • Cutting the Knot
  • A Day in the Limelight: Camila shares the spotlight with her daughter while the Gatesfield teens, specifically Clara, and Abigail & Nora spend the day getting a tour of Gravity Falls as the Gates family connect with the Nocedas. Dipper, Ford, Vee, and Star all have prominence as well.
  • Don't Explain the Joke: Or the nickname, as Gus G. makes clear when he's dubbed "Double G".
Luz: See what I did there? I usually call my Gus "G-Man" so you're "Double-G", since your initials-
Gus G: Yeah, yeah, I got it.
  • Even Nerds Have Standards: Camila is not pleased with Ford using a fan nickname "Cosmic Frontier" fans loathe, and they're both offended by the idea that the series and "Dungeons, Dungeons, & More Dungeons" are in any ways similar to Star Trek and Dungeons & Dragons.
  • Evil-Detecting Dog: The moment she sees Blazer, Ghost hisses at him and he snarls in response. Ghost admits she doesn't know what came over her.
  • Evil Stole My Faith: Because of Belos' actions in addition to meeting other gods and deities, Amity has lost faith in the Titan since she struggles to believe that even if he was communicating with Belos, he'd allow him to commit such atrocities. The same turns out to be said for Nina, who's felt that way ever since she saw Mr. Tuggers be beaten to death.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: In-Universe case. According to Ford, nerd circles call Cosmic Frontier fans "Cosmies"; Camila finds it offensive and says they prefer "Frontiers".
  • Genki Girl: Vee got really invested in FCLORP after Blubs and Durland introduced her to it, and she not only considers it the greatest recreational activity ever, she gets very hyped to play while explaining things to Star.
    Star: (confused) F-clorp?
Vee: (excited) It stands for "Foam and Cardboard Legitimate Outdoor Roleplay". It's something [my dads] play along with Soos and Mr. Determined. I played it with them once, and it's like, the most awesome game to play outdoors! You get to wear cardboard and foam, make cardboard swords and shields; it's like a video game, but in real life!
  • The Ghost: Superintendent Mordo Freewitch is indirectly mentioned by Nora while Luz tells the Gatesfieldians about the school war.
  • Good Wears White: Clara, Gus. G, and Vee all sport white on their character outfits.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Clara continues showing envy towards Masha's growing friendship with Vee, pouting when she learns the basilisk gave her crush a nickname and is annoyed when she asks to join the rescue mission and Masha enthusiastically agrees.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Abigail reveals that she's trained in every kind of martial art from her time in the Huntsclan and knows how to play "DD&MD" through Camila.
    • Masha is shown to be a fan of pop rock, metal, alternate rock/metal, and J-pop given her preferences in such music.
    • Luz and Camila are both fans of "Dungeons, Dungeons, & More Dungeons", the former playing the game with Dipper in the past and the latter creating her own version of the game with "Cosmic Frontier" gameplay.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Probabilitor selects Camila and Abigail as his opponents in the battle royale because he had assumed they didn't know how to play "DD&MD" because they're mothers. They not only prove they can play, they trap him in a position where he ends up forfeiting the match.
  • Holding Hands: When Star saves Vee in the FCLORP session, she holds her hand.
  • Ignored Enemy: Luz repeatedly lays into Ford over his carelessness with the infinity-sided die, and the ensuing argument caused them to ignore Probabilitor until he makes them shut up.
  • I'm Not Afraid of You: Lambi shows shades of this with Nina, as she welcomes her to the temple and sits with her in the back so she can be comfortable.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Dipper and Ford bond over "Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons", get captured by Probabilitor when the infinity-sided die brings him to their dimension, and are captured and need to rely on their family to defeat him, which they do.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Camila meets Gilbert, Sully, and Nora for the first time.
    • Nina recaps to Amity about Mr. Tuggers' death and how her parents took it.
    • Luz regales the Gatesfield group with her experiences in the Glandus War. Due to this, they learn about the Fae and that the Pied Piper is real.
    • Luz learns that Camila was a Cosmic Frontier fan like Manny was, as do Dipper, Ford, and the rest of the teenagers.
    • Dipper, Ford, Vee and the Gatesfield group learn about and meet Maya for the first time.
  • Just Friends: Odalia has to reaffirm this with Lilith despite both of them feeling their former feelings for each other return.
  • Laugh of Love: Hearing Star call her pretty and fumble over herself correcting it causes Vee to giggle with a small blush on her face.
  • The Leader: Luz is quick to take command over the rescue team, eager to show the Gatesfieldians how to enjoy a "classic Luz Clawthorne adventure".
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: The witches in Eda's book club complain about their latest book revealing that "the villain is the hero's best friend who turns out to be alive". This is a lampshade to the truth about Angel being Director Gates.
  • The Load: Nora stays behind when the kids, Camila, and Abigail go off to rescue Dipper and Ford from Probabilitor feeling she can't contribute anything to the quest, unlike the magic users or the other mothers with combat experience.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: At first Luz kept her aichmophobia and Maya under wraps from the Gatesfield group because she wanted them to see her as a rebellious teenager instead of a scared and stressed-out girl. They learn about these things anyway, but assure Luz they don't think any less of her.
  • Moment Killer: Star and Vee, regardless of awkwardness, enjoy the end of the FCLORP session where Star saves Vee... and then Probabilitor's party bursts out of the Ramirez home. The narrative even points out the trope's use.
  • Mythology Gag: Edric, Emira, and Skara taking multiple pictures of and with Ghost upon first meeting her alludes to the Moringmark comic "Meeting Ghost".
  • Noodle Incident: Luz apparently did something at the Gravity Falls barrel factory that warranted a "No Luz Allowed" sign on the front door.
  • Out of Focus: Willow and Gus P. vanish once Titan service has concluded, Viney, Jerbo, and Barcus only have cameos, and King, Hooty and Acorn stay behind while Luz, her moms and Star are on Earth for the day in order to guard Raine.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • To "Dungeons, Dungeons, & More Dungeons": with Stan and Mabel gone, someone else faces off against Probabilitor in the battle royale, but he doesn't make Dipper and Ford player characters. Probabilitor ends up losing the game when he's forced to forfeit.
    • Camila reveals her Closet Geek side to Luz early, just before "Any Sport in a Storm" takes place.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The chapter's title acts as a nod to The Fairly OddParents!
  • Quirky Girl, Quirky Tux: While Luz and Eda reuse their Grom suits for Titan service, Skara wears a red suit while Nina has to wear a black suit and tie.
  • The Reveal:
    • Lambi's mother Awassi is the local shaman in Bonesborough and performs the sermons at the Titan Temple.
    • Amity has lost faith in the Titan due to the petrification ceremony, Belos' lies, and meeting several gods.
      • Nina also doesn't believe in the Titan due to what happened to Mr. Tuggers and how her family responded to it.
    • Odalia mentions that Mary (Amelia's mother) has been helping her build a case against Arthur and Destiny over their abuse against their children.
    • Wendy got a job at the Gravity Falls music store thanks to Tambry after the Mystery Shack was shut down.
    • Nora mentions that she grew up in Maine.
    • Manny, Luke, and all the other enginners who died in the Gatesfield Department A fire with Joseph were hired to help build a portal to the Demon Realm. None of them knew what they were doing and signed non-disclosure agreements to keep it classified.
  • Ripped from the Headlines: While talking shop about Gorillaz!, Masha and Gus G. bring up their appearance on Toonami's special edition of the "Midnight Run" back in 2001.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Spoofed. After Calypso makes the arrangements and urges her to go, Nina is allowed to attend Titan service with the Brookes even though it's clear she really doesn't want to be there.
  • Seen It All: Abigail has grown used to knowing about the supernatural and occult things her family knew and she grew up learning about, which leads to her promising to help Nora get accustomed to it all.
  • Sequel Hook:
    • Nina catches Sam moving, so she may have just learned Amity's a Fae.
    • Trini shows Mel a photo of Lilith and Odalia, planning to cause some drama with it.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Stay in the Kitchen: The reason Probabilitor makes Camila and Abigail his opponents while the kids are their player characters is because he believes as mothers, they wouldn't know how to play DD&MD. This backfires on him since Camila used to play the game with Manny and got Abigail into it, so she stalls long enough to get Abigail in a position to restrain the wizard.
  • The Team: A rescue team meant to save the Pines boys is formed between the Nocedas, the Gates, the Gatesfield teens, Vee, and Star in the later half of the chapter, with Luz acting as The Leader.
  • Training from Hell: Abigail describes her time in the Huntsclan as "unpleasant".
  • The Un-Reveal:
    • Viney acts unusually nervous when Nina gestures to Amity at the Titan temple, and Nina mentions it involves Emira somehow.
    • Ford doesn't elaborate on how he left the Boiling Isles, but the synthetic Titan blood may have been how he did it.
    • Abigail already gave Nora the whole story about the Department A portal failure, but there's no confirmation if Nora told her son about his father's fate.
  • Verbal Backspace: When saying goodbye to Vee, Star says she made a "pretty priestess", only to backtrack and say "pretty good priestess".
  • Weirdness Censor: Discussed by Abigail and Nora. Abigail explains that most people would believe almost anything if they can feel safe, rather than accept that the world is filled with dangerous and horrible things that they have no control over. Hence why people are willing to ignore the magical and the supernatural as long as they are told there is a logical explanation.
  • Wham Shot: Among the detained objects in Ford's lab, we see a light blue and green capsule with the label synthetic titan blood.
  • You Are Not Alone
