Please add entries in the following format:- The meme. [[labelnote:Explanation]]The explanation behind the meme.[[/labelnote]] ExplanationLike this.
- "A BAT CREDIT CARD!?!?" ExplanationDuring the review of Batman & Robin, the Critic has an epic meltdown due to the absurdity of the item's existence that it became known as his most defining moment and best joke and many Berserk Button in general could be referred as 'Bat Credit Card'. Became Running Gagged (and is on the way to being a Discredited Meme) after Linkara rationally points out how it could make sense in context of Batman-verse and not the most ridiculous moment of the movie, with the Critic unable to refute.
- "This is Jumping the Shark, coming back, shooting it in the balls, RAPING IT, EATING ITS FLESH, CONSUMING ITS SOUL, MOUNTING ITS HEAD ON THE WALL, AND THEN DOING THE SAME THING TO TWELVE MORE FUCKING SHARKS JUST TO BE SAFE!!! " ExplanationThe Critic's enraged reaction to the Rockbiter from The Neverending Story III Escape From Fantasia unexpectedly bursting into a rendition of Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild" during his complaint about how the characters from the original story have been butchered.
- "Drat! I've been foiled by the power of love!" ExplanationThe Critic's impression of the villain whenever the heroes use The Power of Friendship to defeat them.
- The devilish popcorn-eating security guard.
- The boy with the nose brace. ExplanationIn a montage of school students introducing themselves to Mitchell, a boy with a nose brace appears in the middle looking stunned and saying nothing. The Critic sticks him in the middle of scenes to mirror the movie.
- "That's a lot of fish." ExplanationMatthew Broderick's character's reaction to the amount of fish that was being piled up in order to lure Godzilla into the government's trap. This was brought to attention after the Critic took two minutes to try and understand whether the comment was supposed to be a joke or not.
- "I love the Power Glove. It's so bad." ExplanationMemetic Badass Lucas from The Wizard uses the Nintendo Power Glove to show off to the kids, which makes the Critic faint.
- "I'm a baaaad troll. A very baaaad troll." ExplanationThe little tune (to the tune of "The Song of the Volga Boatmen") that a troll sings to himself as he goes on his way. The Critic snaps that the scriptwriter was probably too lazy and asked their five-year-old child to write the movie. He was probably the catalyst of making this meme a thing.
- "SCARING THE LITTLE GIIIIIRRRRRRLLLL??!!" ExplanationMr Toomey's overreaction to a passenger telling him to calm down in case he's scaring Dinah the blind girl.
- DuckTales, WOOHOOO!! ExplanationFrom the Top 11 Catchiest Theme Songs, the Critic put the theme tune to DuckTales as his #1 choice. You could call it the Rickroll of the show, as well as the theme to Doug.
- "Where are you?" from Red Sonja, due to Brigitte Nielsen's bizarre facial expression as she says the line.
- "Frying the coke."
- "(CHRIST!) I WAS FRO-ZEN TODAY!" ExplanationThe Critic comments that the sentence would be a perfect Wham Line to shut someone else up in an argument. He even went and asked Christopher Lloyd to say it at a fan convention!
- "ZUUL, MOTHERFUCKER, ZUUL!!!" ExplanationMostly when rabid black dogs attacked the heroes of The Pagemaster. Later applied to Gargoyles, Alone in the Dark (2005), and A Troll in Central Park among other things.
- "OF COURSE!" ExplanationBut wouldn't you say his most well known one comes from a certain mad general talking about his desire to Take Over the World? Like with the Bat Credit Card, this eventually got Running Gagged in the series due to overuse, but it was briefly brought back as a gag in itself in the Freakazoid episode.
- "Ride the pony."
- "TASTE THE RAINBOW, MUTHAFUCKA!" ExplanationThe Critic's Battle Cry during the Care Bear Stare. Often also associated with My Little Pony, due to many a Big Bad being defeated by a rainbow (Tirek, the Smooze, Nightmare Moon, Discord, and Tirek again).
- ASK ME WHAT IT MEANS! ASK ME WHAT IT MEANS! WOO-HOO!
- For whatever reason, "50 Impressions in 50 Seconds" gets a lot of use in YouTube Poop.
- "...fucking bubbles!!!..." ExplanationOne of the commercial specials had a toy called Bubble Thing, but this reaction has been heard throughout the series whenever bubbles make an appearance.
- "FUCK YEAH SPARKLE SPARKLE SPARKLE!"
- "What about Boomer?!" BOOMER... WILL LIVE. ExplanationThe Critic celebrates over Boomer the dog being safe, after Vivica A. Fox rushes him to safety along with her child.
- BOOMER WILL ... OOOOH... Ummm... We'll getchya another Boomer." ExplanationThis refers to a scene in The Lost World: Jurassic Park in which there was hope in that a dog in a family's back garden would have a happy ending, but the T-Rex ate him alive.
- The Squee moment from Alaska is often used as a fangirling .GIF on tumblr.
- "IT'S NOT POPTARTS!" ExplanationA commercial for Poptarts has the slogan "So hot, they're cool — so cool, they're hot!", making the Critic snap that it's like an Ice-Cream Koan. The quote is an angry response from a Buddhist monk.
- "But the chart says..." ExplanationExecutives from The Cat in the Hat appear to tell the Critic off for commenting on the occasional rhyme scheme and refer to the pie chart that they created in a meeting.
- You know, for kids!
- And after the revival: "A FAMILY PICTURE"
- A CHUCKA NORRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSS! ExplanationThe Critic creating Chuck Norris into a Memetic Badass. Also got Running Gagged due to Critic seeing the joke as being the kind of humor he wants to move on from, and after the revival, it hasn't returned, mostly because of Norris' possible homophobia.
- "CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!"' ExplanationA jump scare involving a cat during his End of Days review commences a freak out between him and the cast of Alice in Wonderland.
- Ha ha ha ha. That's not funny, you sick fuck. ExplanationThe Critic's reaction to Johnny's giggle after Mark tells him the story about a woman he knew who suffered from domestic abuse.
- From his Man of Steel review: "I AM JESUS! I AM JESUS! I AM JESUS!"
- The Mouse demands it! ExplanationA Running Gag that explains Disney-Tropes in general and the Missing Mom trope especially by the way that Disney is literally run by a psychpatic and Dictatorial Mickey Mouse that hates Mothers.
- "I love whores." ExplanationFrom the Captain N: The Game Master review, which he opens by talking about his love of whores, before specifying that he meant media whores, not people who sell their bodies.
- "These Nostalgia Critic thumbnails have now reached the point of abysmal. This is honestly just sad"Explanation A series of tweets mocking the art of his thumbnails, in the revival series.
- "I have a small penis and like to eat elephant shit for breakfast!" ExplanationFrom his Angry Video Game Critic video on Bebe’s Kids, a video made as a response to the Angry Video Game Nerd during their “feud”, the Critic says that line towards the Nerd as an insult, which has become a running gag in many Nostalgia Critic-esque YouTube Poops in recent years, often used to insult the Critic himself.
- "Hey, Critic. Leave The Wall Alone!" Explination A common response fans of Pink Floyd had towards Nostalgic Critic’s The Wall album, which served as an “affectionate parody” that poorly mocked the original album, the movie adaptation and its fans more or less. This quote especially became popular after The Needle Drop reviewed the album and sung those very words while singing to "Another Brick In the Wall, Pt. 2".
- Doug Walker crying on the computerExplanation During the "review" of the film, the mid-review advertisement involved Doug making several comical overreactions to the Honey web extension. It wound up being the most memeable part of the review, with many dubbing music and/or sound effects. For a more recent example, this video combines it with the infamous whip crack sound effect from Johnny Test.
- Spiders! A giant, legion of spiders!ExplanationThe quote from the Critic's rendition of Dr. Smith. Tends to accompany appearances of literal legion of spiders in varying medias.
- Our hero, ladies and gentlemen!ExplanationWhen the protagonist in question is either an Idiot Hero or a Designated Hero.
- No Nostalgia Critic NovemberExplanationA meme that began on Twitter in November 2021 parodying No Nut November, where if you watch Nostalgia Critic during the month of November, you have to change your icon to Critic for the rest of the month. The official Channel Awesome Twitter account even got in on it.
- ADVENTURE HO!!ExplanationBased on a short-lived Running Gag where the Critic tries to spice up what could've been a very boring premise. Format goes like: "[Product] is about [Premise] and... umm, yeah, that's it. It's just about [Premise]. *Beat* ... ADVENTURE HO!!"
- This is just such a love letter to X. ExplanationFrom Doug's review of Pink Floyd's The Wall, of which Doug created a parodic album perceived to be mean-spirited which he claimed to be "such a love letter to Pink Floyd's The Wall". Since then, it became a popular reaction to any scathing critique, especially scathing critiques of Doug himself.
