Caustic can't catch a break.
  • Pathfinder's "For the Birds" banner pose. He holds out his arm for a bird to land on... which proceeds to harass and divebomb him, sending him fleeing in terror.
    • Becomes even funnier if you've played Overwatch and expected him to get along with birds as well as Bastion.
  • Behold! Mirage's (pathetic attempt at a) dating profile! It's basically a shining testament to what happens when you pair Mirage with a speech-to-text program: not only is half the profile not even set up right, it's also chock full of incoherent rambling, Verbal Backpedaling, Mood Whiplash, and repeated references to some apparently unpleasant business involving pumpkins and Khionian mushrooms. The best part, however? The only reason it got posted in its current state is because he thought the "Enter" button meant "Enter changes". It's such a spectacular train wreck that, if his chances of finding romance were slim before, they're six feet under the ground now.
  • The gameplay trailer for season 2 update features Mirage doing his execution shenanigans out in the field, only for both him and his decoy to get unceremoniously stepped on by a gigantic background Leviathan.
    • Speaking of the season 2 trailer, a shining moment is when Octane is squaring off against Mirage. He juices himself up, gears up for an airborne assault, and suddenly Bloodhound throws a projectile only for Wattson to intercept leading to Octane taking a mid-air selfie with an electrical blast behind him, almost like he planned for that! And this ends with him getting the literal drop on poor Mirage with a triple face-kick!
  • In the World's Edge map, try pinging the geyser as Mirage:
  • Continuing the trend of Mirage and funny moments, one of his season 3 skydive emotes has him riding one of his decoys like a rodeo horse.
    • And speaking of skydive emotes, Pathfinder gets one where he flaps his arms like a bird... only to get attacked by an actual bird. It really makes you wonder if some of the Respawn devs are Portal fans.
  • Many people believe Caustic to be funny instead of the Mad Scientist, Nightmare Fuel incarnate the game portrays him to be. His constant ramblings about death, weirdly specific melodramatic commentary, Shakesperean-esque manner of speaking and his Holier Than Thou attitude makes a few players think less of Caustic as a deranged psychopath and more as an overtly edgy old man who's huffed a little too much of his own chemical experiments and now won't shut up about it.
  • Some of the character's kill quips are straight up roasts, while others are pretty much directly addressing (and insulting) the enemy player behind the screen. Some of these are guaranteed to cause tilt on the poor sap that's just been wasted.
Bangalore: You play dead like a pro!
Pathfinder: You did a really mediocre job, friend.
Caustic: Some compounds are inert, having little to no effect on the outcome... Like you.
Crypto: I've seen target dummies smarter than you.
Octane: Man, you even die slow. Hurry up, I've got stuff to do...
  • In the Fight or Fright LTM, Wattsons are notoriously hated due to their ability to completely seal off buildings with her fences, something Shadows can (almost) never destroy due to the latters' low HP. Made even worse if two enemy Wattsons decided to team up. It's a fairly common (and extremely hilarious) sight to see hordes of Shadows continually bum-rushing hunkered-down Wattsons, dying over and over in mass numbers to her fences as they angrily try and score a kill.
  • Revenant's reveal trailer doesn't seem that funny at first, given that it ends with Forge's death. What makes it hilarious, though, is the fact that Respawn set up the reveal of Forge by entering him into Apex's data and immediately killed him just to troll dataminers, as explained here.
  • Mirage as the announcer in the Holo-day bash event of 2019 provides some levity through terrible puns and just being himself. Also, he seems to be attracted to the female AI announcer.
    • The 2020 revival added additional content.
Mirage: (as announcer): "That was intense! Just like... my new business partner, when I forget her office isn't the men's room anymore..."
    • Mirage is salty that the AI announcer hasn't called him at all during the year.
  • The Holo-days bash also introduced the Mirage Voyage, a ship infested with Mirage decoys which pretend to be partying. Complete with hot tubs, champagne and pizza, which for some reason are real. It's not outright funny, but the thing that really is worth a chuckle is the couple of decoys who pay a homage to the "I'm flying, Jack" scene.
  • For April Fools 2020, every Mozambique on the map was replaced with a Purposely Overpowered gold variant sporting a nine-shot magazine (compared to the normal 3), an insane rate of fire, and a massive damage buff. Watching players suddenly scrambling to find what was normally the game's memetic joke weapon and seeing it absolutely flood the kill feed was as hilarious as it was satisfying.
  • If Bloodhound decides to go to the Trial Chamber despite they were responsible for building it to test others, they have a change of mind and decides to attempt the Trials just to amuse themselves as the squad fights off multiple prowlers. Bonus points if rival squads decided to interrupt the Trial.
  • Revenant always gives a rude "I'm not thanking you." whenever he takes something another character has pointed out. As of season five, most of the characters' "You're welcome" lines are replaced to show how much they don't care for the simulacrum's gruff behavior.
Bangalore: Ugh... Can't believe this guy is making me side with Forge...
Bangalore: Yeah, jackass. You made that clear.
Caustic: Careful, simulacrum. You've touched death so often - It would be a joy to dissect you.
Gibraltar: Comin' from you, that's down right polite!
Gibratlar: Hey, turn that frown upside down!
Mirage: If the scary murder robot doesn't want to say thank you, then scary murder robot doesn't have to! (Nervous laughter) Please don't kill me...
Octane: Hey, you and Che should get together. It'd be like two sticks in the mud.
Mirage: Oh you! I do love our banter! (worried) He's gonna eat me isn't he?
    Wraith: Nobody asked.
  • If Lifeline and Octane are in the same squad together, she has something interesting to say when tossing a grenade.
Lifeline: Frag out! Silva, don't stand on this one!
  • Oh, so many from the Season Five story quests. It's such a joy to see the legends interacting with each other outside the battlefield.
    • More than half the stuff Mirage says or thinks, from going from cranky to giddy about the secret meetings in his bar, to his back and forth with Wraith.
    • Caustic dismissing the allegations of him being a mass murderer as "all patently false and absurd, of course."
    • Wraith's drink of choice is an Appletini. According to Mirage, anyone who says a word about it is in danger of suffering a Groin Attack.
    • Lifeline repeatedly trying to talk Octane out of going on a date so he can get intel for them.
Lifeline: You gonna let this poor girl sit through the torture of this date for intel?
Octane: SHE'S tortured?! I have to wear PANTS!
    • And then the date itself, where Octane doesn't even bother trying to be subtle and ends up bribing the girl with the promise of Bangalore's autograph.
    • Wraith's growing annoyance with Mirage when he keeps bugging her over the radio.
Wraith: Yup. Today's the day I kill him.
  • Mirage's heirloom melee is the trophy he won from the 2019 video gaming awards for best Battle Royale game of the year. Among the secret melee animations is an Eye Poke attack and Porkchop melee.
  • A new voice line was added out of nowhere in Season 6 for when Revenant uses a healing item, demanding teammates to "be my shield, skinbag!" While this means nothing for most players, fans of Overwatch will likely find it hilariously ironic since Reinhardt, a character with whom Revenant shares a voice actor, is famous for the line "I will be your shield!" Indeed, the circumstances make it difficult to tell if it was merely coincidence or a deliberate Actor Allusion.
  • After out-of-universe weeks of speculation about who Pathfinder's girlfriend is, a development which stumped Mirage and Rampart alike, with fans speculating it to be possibly a new Legend named Horizon, she's revealed to be... ASH! From Titanfall 2! And she wants ice cream.
  • The Champion Edition Trailer is this, mainly since Mirage is the narrator. Highlights include:
    • While showing off King's Canyon, Mirage asks who the "king" is. Is it him? The Leviathans? Cut to Mirage getting stepped on from the Season 2 trailer and a casual, "Yeah, that sucked."
    • He says Octane is "allergic to sitting still."
    • Clearly still bitter from Season 5, Mirage calls Crypto a "decrepit geriatric."
    • World's Edge is introduced by Mirage saying they went on a field trip. Or is it a space trip?
That's probably not a thing, but whatever.
    • Even when they're not in the same room, Mirage still asks Revenant not to eat him.
    • In Mirage's words, Rampart is "pew pew pew, boom, pop!" (The pop being her gum)
    • Mirage apparently still has problems with words, if this is anything to go by:
Let's get this road on the show! Ehm... Begin...to play...the game...
    • The general consensus? Roger Craig Smith seems to be having an absolute blast working on this game.
  • "Teabagging" (pressing the crouch control rapidly) now automatically triggers the option for you to play your character's kill quip.
  • The reveal trailer for Fuse ends with him swatting Caustic right on the bum. He tries the same thing on Bloodhound and gets a gun in the face before he even gets close. Fuse wisely backs away from them after that.
    • What makes it even better is that Caustic barely reacts beyond just turning to look at Fuse, as if confused by the blatant ass slap. Meanwhile Bloodhound is quick to draw a gun the instant Fuse attempts to touch them.
  • The 2nd Anniversary Event trailer cranks the rivalry between Mirage and Crypto up to eleven, with the former's humorous slideshow getting hacked by the latter in order to showcase the trailer proper. What takes the cake, though, is what comes at the end of the trailer:
Mirage: "Oh, wow, I'm Crypto, I can hack stuff." It's great, you know, the computer does most of the work anyway.
Crypto: Heheheh... don't worry. Your section's coming up.
Mirage: Oh, well, that's more like it, thank you. (Beat) ...wait, what do you mean.
    *MIRAGE FAILS*
Mirage: See, this is why I don't like you.
    • What follows is a truly hysterical montage of Mirage dying in truly embarrassing ways, with Mirage making up lame excuses for each one:
(tries to grab a zipline, only to deploy a decoy instead and fall into the ocean) "Okay, clearly the sun was in my eyes there."
(Loba steals a gun from right in front of him and then kills him with that same weapon) "Dude, you didn't see that thing that came-?"
(flies into the Harvester beam on World's Edge) "Okay, there was a breeze."
(gets shot from a zipline into the lava below) "The talking robot bumped my arm."
(gets shot in the face while holding a Wingman that's completely out of ammo) "Look, I had some bad pork the night before."
(heads into a Wraith portal that leads him straight into the abyss, accompanied by the Wilhelm scream) "Dude, okay, where do you even find these clips?!"
  • The Season 8 loading screen "Ship Happens" explains where Mirage's party boat went half-way through the season: Mirage crashed it. Into a city. The crash site shows up in Season 9, as part of an arena game mode map.
Ash: With my assistance, the city has been re-ignited with a new monument to incompetence...
Mirage: Thank you for this. I feel much better about myself now.
  • During the countdown to "Tales from the Outlands: Northstar" premiere, You hear Rampart call for Zhera to play some "relaxing sounds". Zhera doesn't hear correctly, and instead plays "Axing sounds". Cue the repeated sounds of an axe striking flesh. Rather lamentable for microphones from 700 years into the future.
  • The Legacy Launch Trailer has its share of funny moments.
    • The scene that provides the page image above. Caustic smashes dramatically through a window, ready for a fight. Mirage is sprawled out on a table, surrounded by partying decoys, singing along with the trailer's soundtrack. It takes him several long seconds to acknowledge that Caustic is there, while he just stands there waiting or unable to do anything due to shock.
    • In the same scene, after Wraith appears and executes Caustic.
Wraith: *looks around* "Mirage, really? Again?!"
    • Mirage looks shocked himself after Caustic is killed.
    • Later, when Pathfinder rescues Mirage and Wraith from Loba by slamming her into the LED screen behind her, He cheerfully announces that he loves whoever came up with the new game. Little did he know, the one in charge of the game is Ash, who he considers to be his ex-girlfriend.
    • Octane juiced-up and pulling off some impressive Le Parkour- just to run smack into a Wattson fence, take a hit from Horizon's Peacekeeper, and then get vaporized by a very smug Wattson.
    • Fuse's reaction to Valkyrie shooting an arrow through his drink.
  • While the video The Truth is much more sad and bittersweet than anything, one moment stands out. Blisk reveals that there's another MRVN made from Pathfinder's spare parts... a revelation which Pathfinder takes as only he could:
Blisk: "One more thing. Did you ever find the... other one?"
    Pathfinder: "What... other one?"
Blisk: "The one they made from you. Your, ah... spare parts. It would run a pretty high price if you found 'em."
    Pathfinder: "I... have a child?!"
    Blisk: (music stops) "...what"
    Pathfinder: "I HAVE A CHILD!"
    • Making this funnier, the video premiered two days after Father's Day.
  • The Escape launch trailer starts as a Beach Episode, and the beginning is chock full of hilarious moments.
    • The penultimate shot after Mirage wakes from his nightmare shows that Fuse set up a chair right next to Mirage, apparently just to spite him.
  • Before Horizon's team attacks Maggie, Mirage seems quite happy to see her in contrast to Crypto and Horizon. It takes a few seconds for Mirage to realize that they should attack her. The trailer gets worse from there.
  • The live premiere of the Season 12 Gameplay Trailer is preceded by a hilarious, borderline seinfeldian argument between Mirage, Octane, and Crypto as they prepare for the first Control match, with occasional interjections from Ash and Mad Maggie. A few choice excerpts:
Mirage: You know this is a good squad. We got, hah, the star, yours truly, the coach... And the uh... uh... mascot?
    Octane: Oho, really?
Mirage: Oh wow, looks like we've also got uh... all the reserve players...
Ash: Perhaps I require a better team...
Mirage: Why would you say that about Octane? That's rude, he can hear you.

Mad Maggie: You can't spell "problematic" without M-E.
Mirage: You know this isn't like a spelling comp- Wait is this a spelling competi- We're doing a spelling bee!?
Crypto: Ask Silva. It's his father pulling the strings.
Octane: Forget it, the old man doesn't tell me anything!
    Crypto: *sighs*
Mirage: Hey what, I believe him! I mean Octane's not really the kind of guy you... share stuff with.
Octane: Hey, you told me about your hair plugs.
Mirage: Hey, I told you that in confidence and clearly I was kidding!

Crypto: You should take this more seriously, we don't know what to expect.
Mirage: Yeah I'm thinking, tug-of-war. Please let it be tug-of-war!
Octane: Hey, I'm open to that!
    Crypto: *sighs* Idiot...
Mirage: Hey if Papa Silva wants ratings, the people want tug-of-war! You should tell your dad that.
    Octane: Um... no.
  • When Lifeline and Octane's heist attempt gets foiled by the guards, they tell Octane to put his hands up. And he does so, shattering an armful's worth of Stim vials on the floor.
    • And then when they get hounded by robotic security drones after:
Security Drones: "Intruders! You have ten seconds to surrender. Ten. Nine..."
[Octane gestures to Lifeline in the direction of the exit]
Security Drones: "Threetwoone lethal force approved!"
    • A blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment: when Octane starts streaming their "wild hostage situation" at the Frontier Corps, Mrs. Che composes herself and smiles for the camera, as if it'll somehow make her look better while she's ordering a hostile takeover.
  • From the Ignite season trailer, Conduit is thinking about how to make her debut. Mirage suggests a "showy" approach; cue her imagining herself a melodic Disney-esque musical number, with Revenant singing along with screechy guitars, announcing that he's gonna kill her. Cut back to reality and the actual Revenant, who just says "No." before walking off to handle his own business.
