God of Hate is a crossover fanfic between Godzilla and Attack on Titan by AkumaKami64.

Eren does not become the Attack Titan, or any of the Nine Titans. He arises instead as the second coming of something far more powerful, from before the dawn of time: The One who is Many, the Golden Demise, the King of Terror, the God of Hate. But can he bear the weight of this power or be swallowed whole by a true Titan, by Ghidorah?

Currently ongoing as of September 26th, 2023 at 28 chapters, but on hiatus until after Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has been released, as AkumaKami64 wants to take any new concepts the movie introduces into account for future story developments.

This fanfic provides examples of:

  • Actually Pretty Funny:
    • Krista regards Erendorah saving her by holding her in the mouth of his right head as this once she gets over the shock of that happening.
    • All three of Eren's heads are forced to admit that Krista's statement of "Only Eren would argue with himself that much," is pretty spot on.
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Eren is much tougher as Ghidorah, being able to tank Titan bites and tear them to shreds with superior strength, speed, and endurance.
    • Ymir is a good deal stronger as the host of the Jaw Titan, being able to wound Eren somewhat in his Ghidorah form.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: The Jaw Titan appears much earlier than canon as Ymir's Titan form when she mistakenly attacks Erendorah for "eating" Krista (in reality, catching her when she was falling to her death the only way he could due to lacking arms).
  • Adaptational Wimp: Ghidorah is somewhat less powerful compared to his appearances in the Godzilla series, but given that Eren's only managed to obtain his power rather recently, he may exceed his canon power level in due time as he learns to master his new abilities. As it is, though, Erendorah is based on the Ghidorah from the Monsterverse, but starts out lacking wings, gravity beams, or the other myriad abilities that Monsterverse Ghidorah has. Further, as of chapter 22, Erendorah is currently trapped in Trost's walls, since they're so much bigger than he is. Ghidorah in the Monsterverse, at full height, is taller than Godzilla, who in that setting is over twice as tall as the Walls, showing that Eren is significantly smaller than Monsterverse Ghidorah as well.
    • Downplayed as Erendorah is implied to be a Ghidorah, while the Ghidorah is still as large and powerful as ever.
  • Animals Lack Attributes: Pointedly Averted with Ghidorah - while he has no external genitals, he does have an anus (which Hange apparently found out via Ass Shove), and Hange notes that as a reptile, Ghidorah's equipment might be stored internally. Eren is mentally glad he doesn't have external genitalia, because Hange would probably have done odd measurements on it For Science!
  • Aura Vision: Erendorah can see some kind of light coming from people, with the ones we know to be Shifters having a different glow to them. It's what allows Eren to expose the Warrior trio, once he's able to compare their auras with Ymir's.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: As Hange notes, Erendorah's scales are made up of gold and whatever else Ghidorah's body is made up of.
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap: Grice could absolutely tell the people of the Walls every little detail that they might want to know about Marley (or at least, Marley as it was about fifteen years ago when he left it), but too bad that he's now a Skullcrawler, a creature that has to constantly eat or it starts going mad with hunger and has to leave now that he's used a ton of energy fighting the Shifters.
  • Draconic Abomination: Currently Downplayed with Eren's transformation as Ghidorah, but it is still a three headed dragon monster that defies biology in ways the titans don't.
  • Eldritch Location: The cavern dubbed the "Lake of Death" by the Eldian Restorationists who found it contains a lake of a black oil-like substance that wouldn't disperse no matter what was done to it, and exposure to which turns people into Kaiju Shifters.
  • Enemy Within: Kaiju Shifters have the original mind of the Kaiju they turn into buried in their subconscious. For the Crawlers, this is a constant threat of overwhelming them if they don't keep their hunger at bay, while for Eren, Ghidorah is more of a Superpowered Evil Side that is constantly egging him on and capable of taking over when his rage consumes him.
  • Freak Out: Krista has one in Chapter 24 upon finally having a moment to process all the reveals she's been through.
  • Freudian Trio: Ghidorah's three heads serve as this for Eren whenever he's in kaiju form, with the right head being the id, the left head the superego, and the middle head the ego.
  • Go for the Eye: Erendorah's eyes are the most vulnerable part of his body. The Warriors recognize this, and both Reiner and Annie actually manage to destroy an eye each, though Eren's healing factor repairs the damage very quickly.
  • Groin Attack: Armin does this to Bertholt to escape being held hostage by him.
  • Healing Factor: Eren has this as Ghidorah, though it is considerably slower then a Titans. Hange notes that Titan healing is extremely visually distinct, as Titan healing is extremely quick and nigh-magical, while Eren's healing gifts appear to be normal healing, but accelerated.
  • I Never Told You My Name: Erendorah refers to Krista as "Historia", even though she never told him her real name. He's just as confused as she is about how he knows that.
  • I Thought Everyone Could Do That: Krista is revealed to be able to understand Erendorah, and is surprised that no one else can.
  • Info Dump: In Chapter 12, a captive Ymir tells Erwin, Levi, and Hange about the Nine Titans' general abilities.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • As noted above, Chapter 12 has Ymir giving an Info Dump to the officers about the Nine Titans.
    • In Chapter 23, Ymir and Frieda tell the officers and Eren's group the true history of the world outside the Walls.
  • It Can Think: All of the Kaiju and Kaiju-shifters are intelligent, though it varies how much. The Marleyans learn this the hard way because the creatures never try the same tactic twice when attacking them. And at least one shows open sadism, letting Reiner see that it had eaten his comrades while he was distracted before it fled.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Following Eren defeating Bertholdt, Annie and Reiner know they've lost and make a run for it. Annie who is the only one of the Warrior Trio who can still transform by that point manages to get her comrades in both arms but just as she is about to jump over the wall Eren blasts off the arm carrying Bertholdt and she is forced to flee to avoid another lightning blast.
  • Locked Out of the Loop:
    • Due to their imprisonment, Ymir and Historia are the only members of their training corps to not be aware of Eren being Trips, though the latter eventually establishes enough trust to be told and Armin later lets it slip to the former.
    • Grice had no idea that Grisha had remarried and had another son while living inside the Walls, let alone passed his power along to Eren. Hence him mistaking Erendorah for his father.
  • Mistaken Identity: Grice assumes that Erendorah is Grisha, because the latter used to have Ghidorah's power and Grice had no idea he'd passed it on. He's very surprised when things are explained to him.
  • Morality Chain: Armin serves as one for Erendorah, being the only one able to calm him down when he's in the below-mentioned Unstoppable Rage.
  • Multiple Head Case: Eren's personality is divided between his three heads as Ghidorah, with Hange noting that it could affect his mental state when- or if- he transforms back into his human self.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Levi claims that Ymir doesn't care about anyone but Krista, and that if she had the chance, Ymir would kidnap Krista and take her away from all of them to keep her safe. This is almost exactly what Ymir did in canon.
    • Krista was told a story from a picturebook when she was younger that is almost exactly how the original Ymir got the titan powers. Ymir (the Jaw Titan) finds it strange and alarming.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Grice's full name is Gander Grice.
  • Not His Sled:
    • Eren never becomes the Attack Titan at Trost, instead transforming into King Ghidorah.
    • Likewise, his father was not the previous Attack Titan; his father also had the power of Ghidorah and the Attack Titan is currently lost.
    • Eren is never put on trial for being a Titan Shifter since he remains conscious in his Ghidorah form.
    • Frieda survived Grisha's attempt to take the Founding Titan from her, but her shifting was crippled in the process.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • All three of the Warriors' reactions when they find out that Eren is Ghidorah.
    • The Survey Corps higher-ups' reactions when they realize that there's something outside the Walls similar to Ghidorah.
    • During their fight, Reiner gets this once he realizes that his Armored Titan's armor isn't immune to Ghidorah's teeth and strength. It's not No-Sell levels, but it's more than what most could do before.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Zigzagged. Eren is initially dubbed "Trips" by Connie and "Scales" by Reiner. However, his friends, along with the leaders of the Survey Corps, refer to Eren by his real name after discovering the truth about his transformation while the rest of the soldiers are in the dark and still refer to him as Trips.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Erendorah is this for the Warriors. They're not sure what exactly Ghidorah is, how Eren transformed into him, and whether or not he is related to the Nine Titans. He's still one for the Survey Corps, particularly Hange Zoe — he's a giant friendly monster who hates Titans, used to be human, and is completely unique from Titans themselves. The difference between Hange and the Warriors is that Hange loves this.
  • Point of Divergence: The ultimate cause of divergence from canon is that the Eldian Restorationists found the Lake of Death and gained Kaiju-shifting abilities from it.
  • Poor Communication Kills:
    • Ymir transforms into the Jaw Titan and attacks Eren after she mistakenly believes Erendorah ate Krista in his attempt to save her.
    • An artillery captain fires on Erendorah when he mistakes the latter's investigation of the plugged up wall as an attempt to open the breach back up. It should be noted that this is a downplayed case, as the captain had very clearly snapped and believed that Eren was some sort of demon trying to kill them all.
  • Prisoner Exchange: Just when Erendorah and Ymir (as the Jaw Titan) are about to finish off the Female and Armored Titans, Bertholt takes Armin hostage, offering to let him go in exchange for his comrades. Though things then get interrupted by the Skullcrawler coming over the wall and entering the fray.
  • The Purge: Freida carries one out offscreen in Chapter 26, eliminating more troublesome nobles and government officials that might be a problem given the current circumstances.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: As in canon, Erwin. Freida turns out to be this as well.
  • The Reveal:
    • Chapter 19 ends by revealing what's outside of the Walls calling to Eren: a Skullcrawler.
    • Chapter 20 follows up by revealing the Crawler is a transformed Grice.
    • Chapter 22 explains that Grisha Yeager used to have Ghidorah's power, before passing it to Eren.
  • Shipper on Deck: Erendorah supports Armin/Annie, while Armin as always supports Eren/Mikasa.
  • Spanner in the Works: Eren's transformation into Ghidorah disrupts the mission Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt have to conduct due to his new form being the perfect counter to their Titan forms. In addition, Eren unintentionally caused Ymir to reveal herself, and when the Survey Corps capture her, she reveals information about the Nine as well as that they have been infiltrated. Eren later manages to blow their cover much earlier then in canon.
  • Spared by the Adaptation:
    • Freida is not killed by Grisha in this universe.
    • Marco never overhears the Warriors and isn't killed by them during the battle of Trost.
    • Grice, who was assumed devoured by Titans in canon, is still alive here, albeit transformed into a Skullcrawler.
  • The Speechless: Eren is stuck having to use debris from the Titan attack to communicate along with other nonverbal methods given that his Ghidorah form cannot speak at all, much to his frustration.
  • Spotting the Thread:
    • After Ymir's Info Dump about the Nine Titans, Erwin notes that her Exact Words left some gaping holes in view of his understanding of the world outside the Walls, like how the Shifters could lose track of each other or who their abilities get passed to.
    • Everyone notes that Freida has no visible reaction to seeing Erendorah, implying that it's not her first encounter with a giant monster.
    • Seeing Ymir for the first time since his transformation allows Erendorah to compare things with his Aura Vision and realize the identities of the other Shifters.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Ghidorah's consciousness appears to still be existent in the back of Erendorah's mind, coming to the forefront when he's able to tap into his Gravity Beams, and trying to take them on a mindless rampage.
  • Super-Toughness: Erendorah may heal slower then a Titan, but he more then makes up for it with his sheer durability. Not even the Armored Titan is as durable as Eren is. While not invincible, he is far more durable than any shown Titan, and is able to shake off hits that would be crippling or incapacitating.
  • Tantrum Throwing: When Grice learns from Frieda about Karl Fritz being responsible for the End of the Eldian Empire and the current state of the Eldians, he vent his rage by destroying an unoccupied building.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Due to having no arms, Eren can't use any of his hand to hand combat skills. He more then makes up for it however by the sheer power and toughness he gets as Ghidorah to such an extent that he's able to overwhelm Annie and Reiner at the same time.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Erendorah ends up in a blind rage after Freida restores all three heads that were destroyed by Reiner's transformation, acting purely on instinct and unable to tell friend from foe.
  • Vagueness Is Coming: Frieda warns that Marley's actions risk war with the world... then makes it clear that she doesn't just mean humanity.
  • Weather Manipulation: While characters haven't figured it out, when Eren gets agitated, thunderstorms start forming, calling back to the Monsterverse where Ghidorah was able to summon a hurricane to surround him.
  • Wham Line:
    • Chapter 13 ends with the revelation that Krista can understand Erendorah.
    • Chapter 19 ends with the Skullcrawler calling the Warriors "Dogs of Marley," which raises a number of questions regarding how smart the Skullcrawler is, how it knows that term, and what its plans are.
    • Chapter 20 follows up on this with the Skullcrawler conversing with Ymir and giving its name — Grice.
  • Wham Episode:
    • Chapter 19 ends with The Reveal of what's been calling out to Erendorah from beyond the wall — a Skullcrawler, which comes over the wall to attack the Shifters in his defense.
    • Chapter 20 reveals that the Skullcrawler is Grice, Grisha Yeager's former rebel comrade. Furthermore, Freida confirms that she knows what Erendorah is, as she somehow helps heal him after he loses all three heads to the Colossal Titan, and in the process grants him his canonical gravity beams — and, it's implied, awakening Godzilla.
    • Chapter 24 gives us multiple reveals that spell out this AU's backstory: Grisha gained the power to shift into Ghidorah after the Eldian Restorationists found a lake of a strange substance, which gave several of the others the power to turn into other Kaiju. Grisha did still try to kill Frieda to take the Founding Titan, but while he failed, he managed to cripple her Shifter abilities. Since then, Frieda and Kenny have been slowly purging corruption from the court, and are now planning on how to use Erendorah to take the fight to Marley.
  • Your Head A-Splode: Bertholdt transforming at point-blank range to Erendorah causes an explosion that blows off all three of Eren's heads, but for a member of Ghidorah's species, this only slows him down a little.
