"Brianna, someone is here for you. This may be your lucky day."
Orphanage Lady

A Danny Phantom fanfiction by princessbinas, set between "D-Stabilized" and "Phantom Planet", the show's last two episodes. The story is about an Autistic orphan girl named Brianna "Brina" Oxana Wallace and her new life with the Fentons. She is easily summed up in five words: snarky, reckless, rude, childish, and creepy.

The actual summary: Brianna Wallace is an orphan who gets adopted by the Fentons. She has many doubts that linger from her past, making her seem a bit cold and a bit of an arsehole. It doesn't help when Skulker makes her life go upside down and making her have to learn things like trust, opening up completely, and how to interact appropriately.

The fic was originally posted in 2015 and was rewritten in 2016. Eventually it was removed from the internet for a period of time without any known backups. However, the authoress had a copy on her computer and has since reuploaded the story as of July 21st, 2023.

     A-F
  • All Men Are Perverts: The reason why Danny and Tucker decided to take Health was because of the pictures shown during the Sex-Ed unit. This gets Lampshaded by Sam who would rather not know but does.
  • Anti-Hero: This is what the author intends for Brina based on the setup that is given in the six chapters that have been published.
  • Berserk Button: Brina has a disproportionate hatred of obstacle courses. She practically destroyed the one that was in the lab when Danny was attempting to teach her how to use her powers.
    • Brina's biggest one yet: Calling her a retard is like calling Ed Elric a pipsqueak right in front of him.
  • Brain Bleach:
    • Danny is still waiting for some after Brina repeatedly turns her clothes invisible on accident.
    • Danny needs it again after he heard the Box Ghost and Lunch Lady making out in the thermos.
  • Butt-Monkey:
    • Tucker gets beaten up by Sam for putting a virus in Sam's computer... Sam is revealed to have confiscated Sasha, Tucker's PDA in chapter 2.
    • The rewrite adds Sam furthering this by trying to put lipstick on Tucker's PDA, much to the tech geek's horror.
  • Calling Your Bathroom Breaks Brina does this in chapter 2 when she claims she needs to pee.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Brina's responses are made up of these half the time. She does not understand things like keeping Secret Identity and prefers being more honest, not realizing just how much danger she would be putting herself in by casually dropping the fact she half-ghost in conversations or transforming where people can see her.
Brina: What does an operating table have to do with anything? I don't have appendicitis, a deadly tumor, or any other nasty stuff like that!
    • The rewrite changes "deadly tumor" to "cancer"...
  • Cuckold Horns: Brina gives this to Skulker of all the characters... It's a miracle she isn't dead yet...
    • It was changed to the more offensive middle finger in the rewrite. It still ticks off Skulker.
  • Deceased Parents Are the Best: Brina lost both of her birth parents to terminal illnesses (Her dad died of Pneumonia and her mother died of Ebola).
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu? Brina did when she gave Cuckold Horns to Skulker. This ends with her being chased by a very ticked off Skulker...
    • In the rewrite this was changed to Brina Flipping the Bird. It still has the same effect of Skulker chasing her around the lab.
  • Disabled Snarker: Brina in spades, especially when annoyed.
  • European Rudeness: Brina is pretty crass and rude. She calls someone a dunderhead at some point. Most notably in chapter 2 when she has a meltdown.
    • In the rewrite, she is even more so. Going as far as to call almost everyone, including herself, some derivative of the word "ass". So far the words asshat, asshole, and dumbass have appeared.
  • Drama Queen: Being a bit hot tempered Brianna does act like Drama Queen sometimes. Most notably in chapter four.
    • Her best example is in her Chapter 2 meltdown.
  • Emoticon: The author uses this occasionally in her author notes.
"Hey guys! Time for chapter three! :3"
  • Danny, Sam, and Tucker use these when they are passing notes in Mr. Lancer's class during chapter three.
Danny: Oh come on! That last prank I did on Dash was hilarious! XD He looked like a Barbie reject!
Sam: Have you learned anything from the Poindexter incident? -.-#
—> Tucker: Come on you two! Just say "I love you" and make everything all better! Maybe it will make Danny less clueless! :D
  • Face Palm A few of these happen throughout the story.
    • Jazz does it in chapter two in response to Danny's cluelessness.
    • Danny's response to Brina Comically Missing the Point in chapter three after he pushed Brina into a trashcan to prevent people from seeing her transform back into human form.
    • Chapter four has plenty of these.
      • Sam when Brina fails to realize the importance of using an alias for her ghost form.
      • Brina decides to use her middle name, Oxana, as her alias...
      • Danny again when Brina tells him that she will not promise to avoid Vlad.
      • Brina when Jack says it was the Wisconsin Ghost who attack her and not Vlad...
    • Jack in chapter six when he is trying to apologize to Danny by giving him a pet rock after he realized he had been hunting his own son.
  • Fan Disservice: Played for Laughs with a naked Brina and Danny overreacting to the horrifying sight in chapter 2. Twice.

     G-M
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Brina has a very "foul" mouth. The word heck is used practically every other sentence as if it were the other H-Word.
    • She even makes use of the word crap.
    • In the rewrite, she actually swears and almost constantly says the other H-Word.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Brina is now the fourth halfa to exist. And this did not happen in an accident and she is not a clone... She is Skulker's attempt at getting a substitute pelt for until he can get a hold of Danny's. It doesn't work out so well and settles for gorging her ghost form's eyes out.
  • Homemade Inventions: The Fenton Ghost Glue Gun, which fires anti-ghost glue at ghosts, trapping them. Like some of the canonical Fenton inventions, it is reminiscent of an everyday object (i.e. the Fenton Utility Weapon, which is a tube of lipstick that shoots anti-ghost energy).
  • In Harm's Way: Brianna is The Trickster version of this trope. She shows shades of this, especially when she is laughing like a nut job while running away from Skulker in chapter one.
    • In chapter four, Brina does something similar with Vlad. It ends badly for Brina to the point she has a full-blown meltdown in chapter 5, and that's not even scratching the surface.
  • Irony: Brianna the doubter becomes half-ghost...
  • Jerkass: Brina is this, unfortunately. She will cuss out almost anyone, act disrespectfully to almost everyone (it bites her in the ass in chapter four), etc.
    • Brina even vandalized Paulina's car with a Swiss Army Knife while in ghost form after Paulina called her retarded. Paulina was not happy and hoped Danny Phantom would tear Brina apart.
  • Kid Hero: Brianna is intended to be a anti-hero version of this, whether or not it will actually happen is unknown due to the story still being abandoned.
    • Also Danny, Sam, and Tuck already are this.
  • Literal Surveillance Bug: One is mentioned to be wondering around the classroom unnoticed by anyone...
    • This was taken out of chapter 3 and put into chapter 2 in the form of a metallic stink bug. Brina threw it out the window, thinking it was an actual stink bug.

     N-Z
  • Orphan's Ordeal: Brina has been adopted and abandoned by one hundred and ten households for various and uncontrollable reasons. No wonder why she doesn't trust many people.
  • Parody:
    • DemonArt is DeviantArt.
    • Portals 8.1 is Windows 8.1. Not too subtle, are you, author?
  • Potty Failure: Brina implies she was once a bed-wetter much to Danny's disgust when the two are discussing Brina's Power Incontinence.
  • Power Incontinence: Instead of intangibility problems, Brina has invisibility problems... The worse part, it's her clothes that become invisible majority of the time.
  • Naked People Are Funny: To us that is. But in the fanfic, Danny is trying to erase the images of Brina being naked.
  • Noodle Incident: We never know what exactly happened to Brina while she was with those 110 households that gets her kicked out. All we know is that it left her with emotional wounds.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: This trope is done half way when Brina does this to Paulina because she is angry at her.
  • No Social Skills: Brina is unable to socialize appropriately due to her autism.
  • Nothing but Skin and Bones: The authoress states that Brina is this because she takes Strattera, an ADHD medication that causes weight loss and decreases appetite.
  • Nuke 'em: Brina's thoughts of dealing with a pesky AI that is pressuring her to adopt certain policies while playing Civilization IV.
  • Self-Harm: Brina bites herself and bangs her head on the wall in the first chapter.
  • Smart People Play Chess: Jazz a character who is smart plays a game of chess against Brina to learn more about her.
  • Stock Foreign Name: Brina's name is a pretty common one. Brianna has been becoming more popular in the United States and in Scotland.
    • Then there is her middle name: Oxana. It is pretty popular in Ukraine.
  • Stuffed Into A Trash Can: Inverted. Danny shoves Brina into a trashcan when the latter begins to transform into her human form out in the open. Brina is not very happy...
  • Taught by Experience: Brina has some signs that she learns how to control her new powers by fooling around with them. This is hinted at in chapter two when she messes with her intangible hand and makes Danny fall through his chair.
  • The Gadfly: Brina embodies this trope in that she likes provoking her opponents until it begins to bite her in the ass (like when Skulker of all ghosts/people was her target) and has very poor social skills, primarily the latter especially when Vlad becomes the target of her bluntness in chapter four.
  • The Klutz: Brina is constantly falling down the stairs and bumping into something. And unlike Danny, it is not her power's fault...
  • The Pratfall: Brina rides down the stairs in chapters 2 and 3 Usagi Style.
  • The '70s: Brina wears red bellbottoms to school. Paulina lampshades this when she is teasing Brina.
  • The Trickster: Brina shows signs of becoming one... One sign of this can be seen in how she interacted with Skulker in chapter one. Another sign can be seen when she interacts with Vlad in chapter four.
  • Too Much Information: Almost everywhere, including the reason why Brina was adopted...
    • And the fact Brina doesn't know what is appropriate to say.
  • Trash Landing: In chapter three, Brina crash lands into a garbage can when she tried to land.
  • Unholy Matrimony: Danny accidentally caused this trope to happen when he stuffed the Box Ghost and the Lunch Lady in the thermos together.
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness/Supernatural Gold Eyes: Brina sports fluorescent golden-yellow eyes in her ghost form.
    • Her human form contains a more natural version of these eyes as well.
    • Considering the signs of her being The Trickster, her eyes in both forms are very fitting.
