Fan Nickname / Arknights

Go To

Arknights, with its extremely diverse cast, is bound to have a few nicknames cooked up by fans to refer to their favorite operators and other game aspects, usually in reference to a Casting Gag or similarities to another media.

Do note that, however, this list only contains alternative epithets used by the playerbase to refer to certain characters. Other memes and such go here.

    open/close all folders
    Game title nicknames
  • The game itself is often referred to as "Guardknights", due to the extreme prevalence of Guard-type operators over other classes.
  • There's also "Gayknights" or "Yuriknights" after a number of Ho Yay Fan Preferred Couples and other homosexual ships which is still counting.
  • Like most gacha games identified using acronyms, Arknights is simply shortened to AK.
  • This game is called "Anime Plants vs. Zombies" by the shared fandom of AK and PvZ.
  • Due to the large number of operators with depressing backstories, the game is sometimes called DepressionKnights.

    Gameplay-related nicknames
  • Deployment Points or Deployment Costs are simply known as "Costs". On that note, Operators who passively give free deployment costs via the Charge skill or otherwise, are known as "Cost Generators".
  • "Helidropping" describes the practice of deploying operators, immediately making use of their skills to burst down or disable certain enemies, packing up, then rinse and repeat as needed. It usually involves using Fast-Redeploy operators with on-deploy AoE bursts, such as Waai Fu and Projekt Red, those with specific skills made for such a play style (e.g. Skadi's S2), or ones with mastered skills that can fire immediately upon placement (e.g. Ch'en's S2 at Mastery 3).
  • "Bodybags" for the duffel bags you open during recruitment and headhunting, with many reasoning that the operators came scrunched inside those tiny packages until opened.
  • "Leaks" refer to enemies that managed to slip past your defenses onto the blue objective. This term has seen prominent use in the "Contingency Contract" event which doesn't rely on a three-star grading system for its maps.
  • Any ranged tile overlooking a (usually-bottlenecked) straight path is considered part of an "Ifrit lane", due to her quirky attack range making those prime deployment locations for her.
  • Rare Operators that show up when it's not their banner (or when it's a Limited Event Banner) are said to "Spook" Doctors.
  • Using Bagpipe along with Flagbearer Vanguards (ie. Myrtle, Elysium, Saileach, or any combination of the three) is often dubbed by many as the "Flagpipe Combo", due to the insane amounts of DP that can be generated from said operator combination.
  • "Cornerstones" for operators that can hold a lane on their own with some sort of self-sustain, relieving pressure so one can focus on parts of the map that require more attention and or finesse. The name is mainly applied to Blaze, Thorns, Mountain, Mudrock, Kal'tsit (via her summon), and La Pluma.
  • "Welfare Operator" is used to refer to Operators who can be obtained without having to engage with the gacha, such as the 5★ Operators given out as event rewards or the 4★ Operators available in the Credit Store.
  • Medics that can deal damage to enemies are often referred to as "Harmacists".
  • "Spear and Shield" for putting a melee DPS with a range of more than one tile in the front behind a Defender. This makes it so that, when optimally used, even if you place the DPS after you place the Defender, that the enemy will target the Defender due to the way targeting works note . This simultaneously keeps the DPS safe and helps work some Defenders in the hand who rely on getting hit. Popular DPS choices for this are Ranged Guards (Thorns in particular) and Blaze with the range extension on her S2, and popular Defender choices are Saria, Mudrock and Liskarm.
  • The negative field effects left behind by certain bosses, such as the Pursuer's 'Dominion' or Andoain's 'Light Unto Sufferers', picked up the mocking nickname of "fart clouds" among the playerbase.

    Main character nicknames
  • The Player Character (Doctor) gets their name intentionally spelled as "Dokutah" or "Doktah" by the fans, from the way Amiya says the word in Gratuitous English.
    • They also sometimes are called Dr. Dokutah, due to the fact that, in place of an operator class, their English in-game bio simply says Dr., right above their codename of Doctor, unlike other non-operators with ingame bios who have their full name written there. Because of this, players joked that their name really was Doctor/Dokutah.
  • "Ex-Wife" for Kal'tsit, which was started by the popular (albeit debunked) fan theory that Kal'tsit and the Doctor were once romantically involved.
    • "Limecat" is also a pretty straightforward nickname.
    • "Kal'pog" for her Poggers-like expression, coined by QaiserMLG.
    • "Old Well," because of this.Explanation
  • Amiya is jokingly called "Donkey" due to her rabbit ears looking like donkey ears, or "Bnnuy".

    Operator nicknames
  • Operators who are mostly just used for their passive RIIC Base bonuses are called "Base Slaves", or simply "Slaves".
  • Push/Pull Specialist Operators are called "Bullies", which is coined after the "Crownslayer bullying" meme strategy grew popular in the fandom. Specifically, this is mostly used on Shaw, Rope, Cliffheart and FEater.
  • "The Big Four" for Eyjafjalla, Exusiai, Ifrit, and SilverAsh. Explanation
    • The Big Four generally shift around as the metagame does and new operators are introduced, those being the launch Big Four.
    • The Moody Blues, as of chapter 8, for Skadi, Ch'en and Mostima, a CN community nickname referring to how they were voted as the weaker 6* for having fallen off in the metagame, due to the fact that they all feature blue in their color scheme.
  • Ifrit, Silence, and Saria are collectively referred to as the "Rhine Lab Family", due to their shared background having a lot of elements reminiscent of a troubled household. Saria in particular is usually referred to as just "Dad" by the fandom, and naturally given stereotypical dad-like behavior by the playerbase, due to her being the larger and more masculine-looking "parent".
  • For those who came from other anime or video game communities, it is very common to refer to an Arknights character by another character whom their voice actor is known for, especially if the characters having the same voice also share a lot of things in common:
    • "Saber" for Siege, due to both characters sharing the same voice actress, using the same lion Animal Motif, and both being affiliated with the United Kingdom, or at the very least an Expy of the UK in Siege's case. To further drive the point home, her trio of lion subordinates are named after Arthurian Knights of the Round Table, her codename comes from the Siege Perilous, and some lines imply she might actually be the Queen of or the heir to Victoria.
    • In a similar vein to Siege, Skyfire is also commonly referred to as "Rin", after Rin Tōsaka, due to them both being voiced by Kana Ueda. Bonus points for Skyfire also being a Caster/mage.
    • While we're at it, "Kouhai" is also a popular nickname for Eyja, due to a Casting Gag regarding her voice actress. "Ayaya" is also a popular one, owing to her name being of Scandinavian origin, which can be difficult to read out loud, while also being yet another reference to a character voiced by Risa Taneda.
    • Those who play Granblue Fantasy alongside this game sometimes call Lappland as "Vira", due to their similar traits and having the same voice actress.
    • "Aizen" for Hellagur, due to Show Hayami's more popular role in Bleach.
    • "Raphtalia" for Ceobe because both are voiced by Asami Seto. Players even find the two characters' appearances to be quite similar.
    • Many Elden Ring fans often called Młynar as "Morgott" or "The Omen King of Kazimerz" and Reed the Flame Shadow as "Reed the Kindling Maiden" or "Melina the Flame Shadow" due to being voiced by Anthony Howell and Martha Mackintosh, repectively.
    • " (literal) Dragon of Yumen/Yan/Dojima", "Kiryu-chan" and "is a Dragon" for Chongyue due to being voiced by Kazuma Kiryu's new English Voice actor Yong Yea. Others called him "Chongyea", "Chong out" or "Chinese/Yanese Pucci".
  • There are Arknights characters who are expies or obvious references to popular culture, regardless of their voice actors, so it's also common for these kinds of nicknames to pop out:
    • "Kung Fu Panda" for FEater because she literally is one.
    • Some fans have started calling Projekt Red as "Geralt", because her name is a reference to CD Projekt RED, with her personality and wolf motifs making her a reference to Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher franchise.
    • While they don't share a voice actor, Hellagur has a lot of similarities to Sephiroth...older and saner (by a large margin), but the resemblance is still there.
    • Tequila is sometimes known as "Gawain" by fans of the Fate Series, as he resembles a Perro version of the Knight of the Sun.
  • SilverAsh has been called by fans as "SilverDaddy" due to how handsome he is, being A Father to His Men and is one of the best operators in the game.
  • "Red Suomi" for Eyjafjalla. The origin of this nickname is none other than Girls' Frontline, where Eyja's artist Anmi provided illustrations for several characters, all of whom bore striking resemblances to the Suomi SMG T-Doll, whom fans consider to be "Prime", and these "Suomifaces" would come to be referred to as Suomis in different colors. Eyja, with her predominantly red color scheme, is jokingly regarded as team Suomi's latest chromatic member.
  • "Yuugi Hoshiguma". Hoshiguma is based on the Japanese legend of the Shuten Douji, a mythical oni leader whose strongest subordinate was Hoshiguma Douji, which is why she's portrayed as huge, tall, incredibly strong and a huge drinker. As it turns out, Yuugi Hoshiguma from Touhou Project is based on the same legend and shares many of Hoshiguma's character traits.
  • "Nino" for Bagpipe due to her uncanny resemblance to Nino Nakano. hololive fans call her "Coco" instead, due to her resemblance to Kiryuu Coco, which is doubly amusing considering how Bagpipe is a Vouivre, which technically makes her a dragon.
  • "Apple Pie" for Exusiai, after the one seemingly random exclamation she makes when activating her skills. Flanderization at its finest.
    • Alternatively, "Red Vector", due to Exusiai's uncanny resemblance to the T-Doll who shares her choice of weapon.
    • Exusiai and Mostima are also sometimes referred to as "Red/Blue Angel", respectively, by Chinese fans due to their hair colors. Mostima also got the nicknames of "Blueberry Pie", and "Blue Exu" due to her blue color scheme.
  • Speaking of Mostima, "DIO" quickly became a popular joke name for her, seeing as her S2 is effectively The World. Unlike DIO, Mostima can only stop time for up to seven seconds at best. The lack of Joestar blood really shows.
  • "Club Penguin" for the Penguin Logistics crew as a whole, especially seeing as they're serving under a real penguin.
  • "Shotgun Angel" or any kind of variation for Executor because he is an angel with a shotgun and one of the only characters who uses a shotgun.
    • Executor the Ex Foedere has also been shortened to "Exalter/Exalt" or, more humorously, "Fedex", the latter of which also doubles as a pun on his real name, Federico.
  • "Sadcat" and "Depressed Cat" for Jessica, due to her sad facial expressions, low self-esteem, and her tendency to self-deprecate. The way other operators frequently mug her for money in fanarts only makes it worse.
  • "Tea Apple Sauce" for Ptilopsis, due to WatchMojo's mispronunciation of her name.
  • Duelist-type Guards are often called "Sword Saints" because of their high damage against enemies such as Caster Leaders. Probably the most common Guard to be called as such is Melantha due to her high stats for a 3-star.
    • Shining also gets called this sometimes, due to the "staff" she uses to cast healing arts actually being a sword.
  • "Pingu" for Magallan, due to her Animal Motifs. Cue the requisite "Noot noot!" jokes. Sometimes, "Skadi's food" or any variation about her becoming Skadi's (and sometimes Specter) prey due to their animal motifs.
  • Specter has a couple of nicknames to call her own:
    • "Shark Nun" for her 5-star Centurion Guard incarnation, due to her animal motifs and attire.
    • "Spectral", "Spalter", and "Captain Jack Spectral" for her awakened Alternate incarnation as The Unchained, since she swaps out her nun's habit for a fancy dress and a flamboyant hat with strong nautical/piratical themes.
  • "Edgelord" for Flamebringer due to his dark and conventionally "edgy" motifs.
    • Flamebringer is also called "Lamebringer" when his status as a Low-Tier Letdown is taken into consideration.
  • "Battery" for Liskarm, due to her team SP-regen passive and her electrical motifs. Popular uses for Liskarm therefore involve letting her tank and get hit a lot to charge the skills for someone next to her, especially those with high SP requirements, before being redeployed somewhere else. However, this nickname is not limited to her anymore, as other operators whose skills and/or talents allow for generous SP handout like Saga and Warfarin also receive the nickname.
  • "Sunflower" for Myrtle. Due to her quirky trait which leaves her unable to attack or block for the entire duration of her skills, most players simply post her somewhere remote to use her as a DP battery due to her superb generation, instead of an actual Vanguard. Not at all like a certain sun-generating plant from a certain tower defense game that Arknights is often compared to, really.
  • "Auntie Savage". Due to Savage being a Cool Big Sis figure towards Amiya, she's regarded among fans as the honorary aunt of the younger operators, namely Cuora and fanart!Red.
  • "Darkness" for Nearl, due to their similar Knight in Shining Armor designs, shared role as the party's tank, and being The Paladin in-lore, though whereas Nearl is stoic and dignified, Darkness is a Covert Pervert masochist.
  • Grandpa Rangers or Papa Rangers, due to his old age, and being quite powerful for a two-star operative.
  • "Annie" for Shamare. Both are young, disturbed children with powerful magical capabilities, whose only companion are stuffed animals.
  • "Female Tourist C" for Ch'en, who appeared in a short cameo appearance with two other tourists during the "Obsidian Festival" event, and was labelled as such by the narration. Fans later stuck with this nickname for her.
    • The nickname also extended to her alternate sniper class: Ch'en the Holungday.
    • Ch'en the Holungday has picked up a couple of other nicknames as well: "Moist Chen," because she's in a swimsuit, "Chotgun," because she's armed with a (water-based) shotgun, and "Balans," because players like to poke fun at her reputation as a Game-Breaker.
  • "Cuora Kaslana", because just like Kiana Kaslana from Honkai Impact 3rd, Cuora has twin braids and wields a baseball bat; not to mention the exact same crescent-shaped Idiot Hair.
    • Also "Himeko" for Surtr, after Himeko Murata, due to their similar visuals and shared Flaming Sword-type weapons. Additionally, one of Himeko's alternative swords is also named Surtr.
  • "Cockroach" for W, due to her two strands of Idiot Hair that part to either side of her bangs that look like the antennas of a roach.
  • "Waifu" for Waai Fu, due to how her name is written in English, her dedicated and surprisingly sweet personality, and quite shapely body despite her being largely covered with fur.
  • "Hachiman" for Jaye/Fillet, due to his predominant dead fish eyes and generally similar-looking hairstyle.
    • Jaye is also called "Sushiman" by fans due his line of work being a combination of a Fish Hawker and Sushi Chef. Bonus points for his second skill is called "Sashimi Platter" where he guts his foes with his knife and turns it into fish balls.
  • "Dimas" for Elysium, due to a moment from the Indonesian fanbase when someone answered a "who's your favorite operator?" question with Dimas instead of Elysium. The name also stuck because there was an Indonesian (phony) shaman who claimed to be able to duplicate/generate money out of thin air- and Elysium, being a Vanguard who can generate large amounts of DP, was compared to the actual shaman.
  • Characters from the Perro race are collectively called "Doggo(s)" because of their Animal Motifs, but the fandom also uses it more specifically for Ceobe. Saga, meanwhile, is called "Doge" due to her perceived similarity to a Shiba Inu.
  • "Pink Doggo", or "Pink Korone" for Goldenglow, especially during the period of time from when she was first teased in the 1st anniversary livestream (and was erroneously believed to be a Perro due to the shape of her animal ears) to her proper debut in the A Light Spark in Darkness event more than a year later.
    • After her official reveal, she is sometimes called "Pink Catto", when fans realized that she was a Feline and not a Perro, as most people believed.
  • "D32 Steel" for Astesia, particularly due to her Elite 2 artwork evoking a similar appearance to the craftable material.
  • "Amber" for April, since not only are both bow-wielding fighters, but the former's bunny-like hair ribbon also evokes a similar image to the latter's animal ears.
  • Suzuran is often simply called "our light" due to the now-memetic proclamations found in her archive files, as well as her incredibly precious nature making her practically worshipped by a large chunk of the community.
  • "Jeanne d'Arc" for Saileach. A blonde-haired warrior maiden hailing from France or a fantasy counterpart of said country, bringing a flag into battle, need I explain further?
  • "Fanart!Red" is used for an exaggerated version of Projekt Red commonly seen in fan works, which downplays her nature as a ruthless killer in favour of portraying her as an innocent, childlike and shy girl obsessed with fluffy Lupo tails.
  • "Amiyaface" for Purestream, since her artist is the same as Amiya's, who seems to have Only Six Faces similar to Huanxiang.
  • With Mountain being a huge, muscular anthropomorphic tiger whose real name is Anthony, it didn't take long for the fans to dub him "Tony the Tiger".
  • Acronyms are also common. For example:
    • "BP" for Blue Poison (Her other nicknames 'Beepy' and 'Bloopie" also stems from this acronym)
    • "FB" for Flamebringer
    • "SA" for SilverAsh
    • "GG" for Goldenglow
  • Some fans prefer the Japanese names of operators who have their names changed in the localization:
    • "Exia" for Exusiai
    • "Azurius" for Blue Poison, derived from her name change for the Japanese translation.
  • Kroos the Keen Glint was dubbed "Mama Kroos" due to looking more mature than her original appearance.
  • "Godsenger" or "PassenJesus" for Passenger, when made as a Memetic Badass, especially when his status as the weakest 6-star (at the time) and his lore considering him a "Walking War Machine" is taken into consideration. The name is also used whenever the game buffs him and/or Passenger demonstrates his buffs. Fans also gave him the Boss Subtitle of "The Storm that is Approaching" as part of the memes around him. The names are used a lot more literally and less ironically after the introduction of his first module, that improves his damage output and strengthens the slowing effect of his Arts attacks, on top of his further direct and indirect buffs (particularly his surprisingly exceptional performance in Integrated Strategies).
  • "High Ground Defenders" for Phalanx/Idle Casters, because they have defender levels of defense and get deployed on the high ground.
  • Alternate forms of Operators, such as Lava the Purgatory or Skadi the Corrupting Heart, are often referred to as "[Character] Alter" for the sake of simplicity. This is usually abbreviated further by combining the character's name and "alter" into a single word whenever possible; for example, Skadi the Corrupting Heart is "Skalter," Ch'en the Holungday is "Chalter," Nearl the Radiant Knight is "Nearlter," etc.
  • Nearl the Radiant Knight sometimes gets called Nearl the NTR Knight a few times, thanks to the way her name is made out to be.
  • Rosa's white with red and blue stripes colour scheme, which has put some of her fans in mind of Colgate toothpaste, got her called the 'Toothpaste Bear' teasingly by her fans.
  • Mudrock's use of a sledgehammer as her primary weapon has gotten her the title of the Bonk Queen amongst fans, alongside jokes that she'd bonk people who got too perverted with her.
  • Minoan operators Sideroca and Pallas are sometimes referred to jokingly as the Cow and the Holy Cow.
  • In the Chinese community, Mint is often called as "Washing Machine" due to how her S2 animation is similar to the motions a washing machine in real life would make. The Global community uses the term to refer to Gladiaa's S3 instead, since it sucks enemies into a rinse-and-spin cycle.
  • "GoldenAsh" and "Truegolden Slash" were originally used for Tequila and his second skill Esoteric Bladework respectively, thanks to his Golden Retriever Animal Motif and Esoteric Bladework being a high-damage multi-target burst skill that functioned like a miniature Truesilver Slash. Once his fellow Liberator Guard Młynar debuted, however, both of these nicknames quickly became associated with him instead due to his third skill Unbrilliant Glory bearing an even greater resemblance to Truesilver Slash, only stronger and tinted gold.
  • Irene the Iberian Inquisitor, thanks to her forehead-exposing hairstyle during Under Tides, got teased with the nickname "Fivehead" by her fans.
  • Operators designed by aZLing4 (e.g. Firewatch, Robin, Heavyrain, Tuye, Pallas) have gained the collective nickname of "Depression Squad" due to their rather dour expressions in their artwork.
  • "Blue Woman" for Ling, due to having a predominantly blue color scheme for herself and her summons, being a mature big sister to her younger siblings, and being a unique Game-Breaker due to her Summoner Supporter subclass.
  • "Angry Bird" for Fiammetta, due to her being a short-tempered Liberi with multiple Berserk Buttons, nearly all of which get pressed during the events of "Guide Ahead."
    • "Spicy McChicken" is another popular choice, due to her phoenix motif.
  • "Smugcat" for Harmonie, due to her standard expression being a smug shit-eating grin.
    • "Hermione" due to having similiar names and resemblances to the character, like school uniform, flowing hair, and using a wand. On top of that, her EPOQUE skin gives her an outfit with even more resemblance to a school uniform.
    • "Mesugakitty" (Portmanteau of 'mesugaki', "brat", with kitty) is another, more off-colour nickname for Harmonie that surfaced after R34 of her became more widespread.
    • A fancomic where the Doctor and Kal'tsit called her by the same nickname led to her gaining the cutesy nickname of "Moni-Moni".
  • "NEET Dragon" for Dusk, since she spent centuries hiding in her magic painting scrolls until she was forced to come outside in "Who Is Real." Then she promptly hides away in another painted pocket dimension while working for Rhodes Island and outright refuses to do any work except sometimes go out to fight.
  • "Birb/Snek Shogun" for Ho'olheyak, as her Japanese and English voice actresses are Miyuki Sawashiro and Anne Yatco respectively, the exact same VAs of the Raiden Shogun.
    • On r/Arknights, she is also sometimes jokingly called "The Serpent that caused the Original Sin" due to how she managed to inflame a sudden wild lust for her in the fan community.
  • Muelsyse has a number of nicknames herself, from 'moist elf' due to her use of water, to 'Mumu' after Ifrit's nickname for her.
  • "Dark Mode Eyja" and other Eyjafjalla-related nicknames are often used for Paprika, due to both operators having very similar appearances.
  • Texas the Omertosa was dubbed "Taxes" to differentiate her from Pioneer Vanguard Texas.
  • Aside from his nicknames above, Chongyue also receives the names "Big Chongus" and "Chongers" as an affectionate variant of his name, alongside being a pretty big guy.
  • Some players start calling Eyjafjalla the Hvit Aska "Eyjaberry" due to her subclass being a wandering medic like Mulberry and Honeyberry, despite having no relation with either two whatsoever.
  • Melanite is often referred to as SnipeRyS, as her illustrator, redjuice, had also drawn and designed IRyS the nephilim.
  • Archetto is often called "Cheeto", which appears to have originated from her artist Alchemaniac.
  • Fans of U-Official have affectionately dubbed her "Eeka" as a corruption of her real name, Eureka.
    • "The Walking Humanoid Catastrophe" is another popular nickname, stemming from her catastrophically bad luck both in-universe and in the real world.

    Archetype nicknames
Before the introduction of official archetypes, these nicknames were used and in some cases are still used above their official counterparts, due to most of the old names being Exactly What It Says on the Tin (and genderneutral) in contrast to most official names. Those introduced after the update have also gotten some less common nicknames.

    Enemy nicknames
  • "GoPros" for the Hound-type enemies, due to the shape of the monitoring device mounted on their backs and the fact that it functions exactly like a GoPro would in reality.
  • The "Hateful Avenger" enemy type appearing in the second Annihilation stage is called "Red Katana Bro" because of his color scheme and weapon choice. They kneel over when they die, and due to the position of their sword, it looks like they are doing seppuku. Similar case goes for the Defense Crushers, or "Hammer Bros".
  • The Avengers enemy-type are mockingly called Weebs or Weeaboos by fans due their looks (a black hoodie and wielding a katana) since they look like an original character made by an anime fan trying to make a cool and edgy character.
    • This also applies to Yeti Icecleavers and Yeti Icecleaver Leaders, which are known as 'Ice Weebs' or 'Red Ice Weebs'.
    • The lobby music for CC#2 Blade is known as "(Red) Weeb's Theme Song" or similar due to the lyrics describing something that (Hateful) Avengers with loads of CC modifiers are remarkably similar to. Further details in the Funny page.
    • Due to the Avenger superboss of Operation Basepoint being referred to as Reid in the game's files, fans call him such and even consider him to be the same Redblade as the Red who saved Susie several times during A Light Spark in Darkness. Amusingly, Red's name is romanized as "Reid" in the CN text for Light Spark, which helps further the connection.
  • "Jetpack Guy" - There's a jetpack-equipped Airborne Soldier who is programmed to fall to his death in a Bottomless Pit of the Annihilation: Lungmen Downtown stage. There is also another Airborne Soldier who lands in the middle of heated tiles, casually burning to death. Also, in the rotating Annihilation stage Frozen Abandoned City, there is yet another jetpack who does so, this time a Guerilla Siegebreaker. Nonetheless, the fandom is convinced that the three Airborne Soldiers are the same person, and thus, he is given a nickname. Some part of the fandom has also taken to call him "Kevin". Hypergryph seems all too willing to play along, often adding similar Jetpack Soldiers whenever the opportunity arises.
  • Infused Originium Slugs are called "Spiders" or "Exploding Spiders" because of their arachnid appearance.
    • For those who have played (or at least are knowledgeable about) StarCraft, they will sometimes call them "Banelings" due to the similar nature of how they interact against operators with either low health or defense (or both).
  • "Walmart Faust", "Walmart FrostNova" and "Walmart Skullshatterer" for the three main boss enemies in Fungimist, due to their kit resembling these bosses in a bit of a different way. Sometimes, the Jetpack boss that can bypass operators by becoming airborne after being blocked is sometimes called "Walmart Crownslayer" or goes by the above nickname of "Kevin".
  • Mephisto, "The Singer" has been dubbed "Lugia" by fans who see a resemblance between the two. Sometimes also called KFC or "Birdphisto" for his oversized bird form.
  • Sui Xiang, the boss of Invitation to Wine, is sometimes named "Rex Lapis" thanks to his rather close resemblance to Zhongli's Adeptus form.
  • Gopnik, the polar bear bonus enemy encountered in Integrated Strategies, is also called the "One-Punch Bear" since his colossal attack stat allows him to land an easy One-Hit Kill on most operators standing in his way.
  • Gertrude Strollo from Lingering Echoes received the nickname of "Texas Alter" or "Evil MILF Texas" in the Global server, due to her color scheme and appearance greatly resembling Texas the Omertosa, who was already released in the Chinese server a few months back.
  • Zaaro came to be known as "Wolf Jesselton" due to the way his arrogant and prideful personality, easy boss fights, and tendency to suffer humiliating losses during story segments all reminded fans of Jesselton Miller.

    NPC nicknames
  • Monch, one of the locals of Kjerag, got nicknamed "Dark Angelina" or "Angelina Alter" due to her appearance being startlingly similar to our operator.

    Item nicknames
  • Due to their appearance and the color of the liquid inside them, the Chip Catalysts are simply just called "Glue" or "Super Glue".
  • Among Asian fan communities, "Candies" refer to Loxic Kohls, due to the shape of their packaging. White Horse Kohls are differentiated as "Red Candies". Became an Ascended Fan Nickname in Chapter 10, with Clovisia confirming that even in-universe, everyone calls them "candy".
  • "Apologems" - A shared Portmanteau term within any gacha game community that refers to compensations given when a game had server-side issues, with gacha currencies ("gems") usually the common items given by the developers as an apology.
    • "Sorriginium" - But since certain gacha games tend to have their own twists to the commonly-used "apologem" item nickname (i.e. "Apolocubes" for Azur Lane, "Apoloquartz" for Fate/Grand Order, "Apolocrystals" for Granblue Fantasy), this game's fandom has also caught on the trend, by combining the terms "sorry" and "Originium" into one.
  • Originium is sometimes referred to as simpler "Gold/Yellow Rock" while Orundum is "Red Rock".
  • Certificates have their own distinct names as identified in the Shop. However, the fandom mostly just refers to these items by their colors:
    • "Green Certificates" for Commendations.
    • "Yellow Certificates" for Distinctions.
    • "Red Certificates" for Shop Vouchers.
  • In the second season of Integrated Strategies, Phantom and the Crimson Solitaire, a particular relic called Hand of Diffusion is given the name "God's Hand" or "Hand of God", due to how it drastically it bolsters Caster operator's SP regeneration (offsetting the main weaknesses of the archetypes it applies to); however, its nickname is meant to be associated with Passenger (who is also given a holy nickname by fans), whose gameplay performance escalates drastically with said relic, allowing him to fire off thunderstorms like no tomorrow.
  • 'The Hands of the Saint', the disc-shaped Aegirian vacuum cleaners that are weaponised throughout Stultifera Navis, are commonly just called "Roombas" by players.
  • 'Z Modules' for Delta Modules, due to the other two being X and Y.

    Event nicknames
  • Events are mostly just identified using acronyms mostly taken from their stages:
    • "GT" for Grani and the Knights' Treasure, though the acronym overlaps with GT standing for the operator GreyThroat

    • "CB" for Code of Brawl
    • "CC" for Contingency Contract
    • "AF" for Ancient Forge
    • "SA" for Stories of Afternoon, though the acronym overlaps with SA standing for the operator SilverAsh
    • "SV" for Children of Ursus, which can be also referred as Survivors of Ursus; although the Under Tides stages strangely enough also have the 'SV' prefix, albeit referring to Sal Viento, the central location of that event.
    • "TW" for Twilight of Wolumonde
    • "DM" for Darknights Memoir
    • "RI" for Gavial: The Great Chief Returns, which also has the tagline of Eunectes' banner, "The Rage Ironhide"
    • "MN" for Maria Nearl
    • "MB" for Mansfield Break
    • "BH" for Beyond Here
    • "WR" for Who is Real

    • "LE" for Lingering Echoes
    • "IC" for Ideal City
    • "DV" for Dorothy's Vision
    • "AW" for An Obscure Wanderer
    • "BW" for It's Been a While
    • "IS" for Il Siracusano, though it's also shared with Integrated Strategies
    • "FC" for What the Firelight Casts
    • ''WB" for Where Vernal Winds Will Never Blow
    • "RA" for Reclamation Algorithm
    • "DC" for A Death in Chunfen
    • "CF" for A Flurry to the Flame, derived from its original name of Leaves Chasing Fire.
    • Lone Trail uses "CW" for "Control's Wishes", Kristen's boss theme and arguably the main theme of the event.
    • "POO" for Pinch-Out Experimental Operation, which is also sometimes used to deride its less than stellar reputation.
    • "HE" for Hortus de Escapimo
    • "SL" for So Long, Adele
    • "FD" for The Black Forest Wills a Dream
    • "CV" for Come Catastrophes or Wakes of Vultures

    • "Under Thighs" for Under Tides, due to Gladiia and Skadi's unique dress seen in the event and used in her Corrupting Heart variant form.
    • Due to the acronym, A Light Spark in Darkness is sometimes jokingly called 'LSD'.
    • This is curiously subverted for Ceobe's Fungimist, as it is mostly referred to as simply Fungimist and not as CF. The maps themselves are titled ISW, with the former two letters standing for Integrated Strategies, but it is mostly referred to as IS due to its nature. On the other hand, Phantom & Crimson Solitaire, Mizuki & Caerula Arbor, and Expeditioner's Jǫklumarkar are respectively nicknamed IS2, IS3, and IS4.
  • Alternatively, events may be known simply by which 6-star operator was released alongside it ("X's event").
  • "WWE" for Cremation Last Wish, the limited-time banner that features W, Weedy, and Elysium, it being an acronym of the first letters of their codenames put together.

    Level Nicknames
  • Operation 1-7 is called "Map 1-7", or for a simpler and more popular fan nickname, the stage is called "Rockmines" (The name is an allusion coined by players who are familiar with the "Foxmines" of Azur Lane) or the "Rock Farm". The stage is a great source for farming Orirock Cubes since at least one is guaranteed to drop for merely 6 Sanity costs. Because Orirock Cubes are used a lot in promotions, skill level-ups and Orundum conversion, Operation 1-7 gets replayed a lot for being an efficient mining source of this material.
  • DH-EX-4 is called “Plants vs. Zombies” due to the map layout being reminiscent of the Pool levels in the latter.
