War Of Discord is a Play By Post Roleplaying Game set in an original fantasy world. It places an emphasis on writing, and doesn't have a battle system, instead letting the players decide the flow of battle against enemies on their own, and letting battles between characters be decided by the better writer, though battles are strictly watched to prevent Godmodding.

The site was founded September 2011, and there is a Table of Contents to help readers find their way around the RP. In December of 2011, the board was closed to new members due to the heavy emphasis on the already existing characters, which would make it difficult for new members to get their characters in, though a few there have been a few new members since.

The RP is a Heroic Fantasy setting, with the plot being that two countries with a long rivalry have gone to war, with a third country hiring two mercenary teams and sending one into each country to see if there was an outside cause. Of course, the two groups can't even make to their destinations without being interrupted by bandits, demons, kidnappers, half-orcs, and vampires, with things just getting worse once the actually arrive in the two warring nations.

(Since about January 2013, this site has been dead due to lack of activity, and probably will not pick back up in the future.)

This Roleplay provides examples of:

  • Armor Is Useless: Played with. Kazairl takes hits from arrows during the battle in Aldion, but they were in the shoulder and leg, where there are uncovered spaces to allow movement.
  • Destroyed Hometown: Arturia's hometown was destroyed by the vampire lords in a similar fashion to Adai.
  • Dual Wielding: Isaac and Zachery with swords, Charon with knives.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: There's a few characters in both groups that just vanish after a point, due to problems with their players. Some of the writing is also different early on, due to some of the players being new to RPing and having gotten better as time progressed.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Scott failing to make sure that the dead bodies were actually innocent people and not bandits.
  • Fantastic Racism: Most every creature that isn't human are outcasts to some degree. Out of all of them, the Elves are the best off.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Irisa does raise some good points about why Arturia shouldn't be trusted. Arturia even mentally notes that she's right about a few things, but for the wrong reasons.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: Their wings can disappear when not in use and they age in an odd way. They're also small but can make themselves appear to be the size of a normal human through a very special brand of illusion magic.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Arturia, who looks about the same age as the rest of cast, but is centuries older.
  • Screw You, Elves!: They're prosecuted just like any other non-human species but tend to be left alone more than the others.
